Nuzlocke Tiers: Black 2/White 2

Nuzlocke Tiers:
Black 2/White 2 Edition!

Hello, everyone! This is an idea I've had for a while, especially when I started doing Nuzlockes. After I caught a Pokémon, I would either have to figure out how good it was on my own, or attempt to make sense of the in-game analysis with the obvious restriction of possible death. An example would be Abra in Red/Blue - while amazingly fast and specially bulky, and also a Top Tier in game Pokémon, if you misplayed it at all against a physical user it would die almost instantaneously. This is most definitely an issue in a Nuzlocke, when you are attempting to beat the game without losing too many Pokémon. This means strategies that are extremely beneficial in normal play, such as bait-and-switch grinding and sacking Pokémon for healing, are actually very risky and unreliable, as one wrong move could easily spell the death of your beloved starter, or perhaps the end of the sweeper you need to take down Whitney reliably.

But what am I saying, you probably know this. The only reason you'd be very interested in this thread is if you like Nuzlocke Runs, and are familiar with the concept!

So without further ado, I present to you: the Nuzlocke Tier: Black 2/White 2 edition!

I'll begin with what we should be looking for (help from others would be nice: PM me if you have a suggestion that I should take into consideration).

Pokémon: Panpour
Tier: Mid
Chance of Capture: Low
Survivability: High
Availability: Midgame
Summary: Panpour is a low risk, high reward capture. While only available in shaking grass in Lostlorn Forest, the other options are also fairly strong, with alternatives such as the other monkeys, Emolga, Audino, or even a Vespiquen. If you are lucky enough to capture it, you’re in for quite a treat - Panpour is one of the best Water-types in the game. When it evolves into Simipour, its stats are amazing for an in-game Pokémon - high Speed, Attack, and Special Attack to abuse the good movepool it gets in-game. Additionally, it comes near Clay, where it can get great beginning training with little risk of dying. Water Stones are also easily available in caves, meaning you can evolve Panpour easily. With its moveset, it can remain a powerhouse through the entirety of the game.
Important Battles:
Cheren: N/A
Roxie: N/A
Burgh: N/A
Elesa: Avoid using Panpour, the chance of it dying here is high. If worse comes to worse, teach it Dig for coverage.
Clay: If evolved, Panpour can be a powerhouse with its Water-type moves. Can usually OHKO the opponents, and can usually take a hit without dying.
Skyla: Can use its strong coverage and Speed to destroy her. Surf can destroy her gym, aside from Swanna.
Drayden: If it has access to Ice-type moves, use them. Simipour is fast enough and strong enough to take on his team, but still needs to watch out for Haxorus.
Marlon: Surprisingly, Simipour does fairly poorly. Losing the option of STAB or supereffective moves really hurts Simipour, and he must depend on Acrobatics.
Corliss: Struggles with Magneton and Klinklang with their Electric attacks, but can usually fare well with Brick Break and Crunch/Bite.
Ghetsis: Can do very well with supereffective coverage. Can almost guarantee a OHKO on Hydreigon with Ice Beam if trained enough.
Final Rival Battle: Can fare well against most of his Pokémon with supereffective coverage.
Shauntal: Struggles without Crunch/Bite, but with it it does great. Can OHKO Chandelure.
Marshal: Acrobatics can do great damage, but struggles with the high Defense.
Grimsley: Brick Break can be great, but needs to watch out for Scrafty’s Hi Jump Kick.
Caitlin: Similar to Shauntal. Needs Bite/Crunch to be successful.
Iris: If fast enough, can do major damage to all of her Pokémon with Ice Beam/Blizzard. Can even take down Lapras well with Brick Break.

Venipede

Pokémon: Magnemite
Tier: High
Possibility of Capture: medium-high (25% walking inside Virbank Complex)
Availability: early game
Survivability: very high/godly based upon ability
Summary: A bulky Steel-type pokémon with many resistances, few weaknesses, one immunity and avaible early game. It's just all you need for a Nuzlocke. If you're lucky your Magnemite has Sturdy, furtherly increasing his survivability. Its damage output is totally disappointing, but its bulk, typing and access to Thunder Wave is wonderful!
Probably it will end up with a moveset like TWave/Charge Beam/TBolt/Flash Cannon or something similar, like Signal Beam (tutor) or Magnet Rise (somewhat gimmick but still removes one weakness). I don't recommend going with Gyro Ball since nature, EV random training and maybe TWave really hinder its damage.
The evolution to Magneton is not super quick but lvl 30 isn't so high, and it can evolve again to Magnezone really early since at this point you will be at Nimbasa or Driftveil, definitely not far away from Chargestone Cave.
Thunderbolt is unfortunately avaible only late game (Victory Road) but Spark/Electro Ball/Discharge/Charge Beam can still do a good job.

Important Battle Match-Ups:
  • Roxie: Poison Gym = profit! The highest risk is taking non-STAB not very effective Tackle/Assurance/Pursuit
  • Burgh: Here they can't still touch it. Struggle Bug is really annoying but at this point it probably has Thunder Wave to gain free turns and Sonicboom so it's only a matter of time and little healing
  • Elesa: It would have a chance if it wasn't for Volt Switch to Motor Drive Flame Charge Zebstrika. It's the only reason you can't use it in this gym with some success
  • Clay: nope.
  • Skyla: another free experience and gym badge, the only neutral-hitting move is Swanna's Bubblebeam
  • Drayden: Revenge and Earth Power are a bit threatening, but Haxorus hasn't any Ground move so you can get in Magnezone and TWave him
  • Marlon: Water moves hit neutrally but Thunder Wave grants time for healing and it still can use his STAB
  • Corliss: Magnezone resists to ALL of his pokémon's moves, but can do little in return aside from Thunder Waving his whole team. Remarks: keep it at good health to switch into his Magnezone (you probably don't want it to Explode in the face on one of your other pokémon), remember that it can only deal acceptable damage against Metang and Klinklang, also don't be a setup bait for Beheeyem
  • Ghetsis: it walls to no end Cofagrigus and Hydreigon, but also has no chance against the others
  • Final Rival Battle: Unfezant is a piece of cake. The monkeys carry Brick Break but their attack stats isn't that high:
lvl55 Brick Break vs lvl 55 0/0 Magnezone: 35.22% - 41.51%, and this is with a equal level, not trained Magnezone; you probably don't want to stay on Simisear's Flamethrower, though. Bouffalant carries EQ, if you have sturdy you can PP stall with potions...or use another pokémon. Between the three starters the only manageable is Serperior, since Samurott carries Revenge
  • Shauntal: Drifblim is walled hard, Cofagrigus' WoW doesn't hurt but is annoying for the required healing. Don't stay in vs Golurk/Chandelure
  • Grimsley: Stay in vs Liepard (you can't use Attract, bastard!) and Bisharp, switch out vs Scrafty and Krookodile
  • Marshal: nope.
  • Caitlin: Musharna is annoying only because of Yawn (if you have Signal Beam go for the 2HKO, otherwise TWave and switch out to something more threatening), Reuniclus has Recover and Focus Blast so he's no-no, Sigilyph is hard walled, Gothitelle can setup Calm Mind so be careful
  • Iris: unfortunately it can only go out safely against Archeops, maybe Lapras if Surf doesn't hit hard enough but Sing is annoying, and if it has Sturdy and Magnet Rise it can fight against Aggron. Hydreigon carries Flamethrower (2HKO), also Druddigon does (Sheer Force + LO = 2HKO too), and Haxorus has Mold Breaker + Earthquake, it has a chance only if he previously set up Magnet Rise vs Aggron.

Pokémon: Minccino (Hidden Grotto)
Tier: High
Possibility of Capture: High
Survivability: Mid
Summary: You can be sure that you will catch him because Bianca will take you to the Hidden Grotto when you go to Route 5, but he can be tedious with Sing, DoubleSlap and Encore (be careful if you want to deal damage and then status him, because if he's faster you can get encored and KO him!).
He's pretty frail at the beginning, but upon reaching lvl31 -only to get Wake-Up Slap- you can evolve him into Cinncino, increasing his bulk to 75/60/60 (not so much but he can take one hit and survive) and making him able to relearn Bullet Seed and/or Rock Blast at PWT, near to the next city. You really want him to evolve because you get something like double base attack and half more defenses.
Skill Link is the only reason for the tier, a really good reason honestly! You can go all-out attacker with STAB Tail Slap, Bullet Seed, Rock Blast and Wake-Up Slap or Sing + 3 attacks but in a Nuzlocke 55 accuracy is somewhat you want to avoid.
He's quite fast and can work as a lead to quickly OHKO wild pokémon not resisting his multi-hit moves.

Below I will be talking about Cinccino since you can evolve him when you want and surely at most at lvl31 since after that he doesn't learn any interesting move.

Important Battle Match-Ups:
Clay: Krokorok is a clean OHKO with Bullet Seed at lvl31. Sandslash is more resistant so watch out from Bulldoze speed drop and check the HP lost (he shouldn't 2HKO but be careful). Excadrill is really more resistant and hits pretty hard and I hope Cinccino won't be your best choice
Skyla: Rock Blast OHKOes Swoobat and Swanna, at most 3HKOes Skarmory. Steel Wing doesn't do too much damage and you can heal so it's not threatening
Drayden: It's not the best gym for Cinccino. He at least need 2 hits to KO something and they hit hard with Dragon Tail (or Revenge from Druddigon)
Marlon: Bullet Seed 3 times and get your badge
Colress: Wake-Up Slap doesn't hit hard enough, and hoping to Sleep+Slap 3 Fighting-weak pokémon in a Nuzlocke is very risky. He can still 2HKO Beheeyem with Tail Slap
Ghetsis: Seismitoad is a clean OHKO with Bullet Seed, depending on his level he can 1-2HKO Eelektross with Tail Slap. Toxicroak has chances to OHKO with Brick Break so you don't want to try the KO with Tail Slap
Final Rival Battle: Rock Blast for Unfezant and Bullet Seed for Simipour are almost certainly OHKO if he's at their level or more (55+).
Bullet Seed on Samurott and Tail Slap on Simisage/Simisear are risky because the first carries Revenge and the monkeys Brick Break
Shauntal: Drifblim and Chandelure have high chance to be OHKOed (watch out: Fire Blast is a OHKO), avoid Cofagrigus (bulk + Mummy) and Golurk (Brick Break)
Grimsley: Wake-Up Slap can miss the OHKO on Bisharp and Liepard depending on his level, and if Night Slash crits you can be in trouble. Avoid the other two.
Marshal: nope.
Caitlin: you can 2HKO all of his team with Tail Slap, and OHKO Sigilyph with Rock Blast. I'd try to KO Musharna before he gets Reflect up (Chesto Berry can work, but also switch out + Awakening) and to avoid Reuniclu's Focus Blast
Iris: Aggron and Lapras are 2HKOed with the appropriate move and can't OHKO him back, Archeops is OHKOed with Rock Blast provided you hit first (if it has 31IV 0EV Cinccino has no problem outspeeding). The dragons 2HKO at most Cinccino so it's not safe to stay in.

Pokémon: Castform
Tier: Low
Chance of Capture: Low
Survivability: Lower Mid
Available: Midgame
Summary: Castform is an unfortunate Pokémon. Its gimmick requires you to use a turn up setting up the weather, and it’s not the bulkiest of Pokémon. Despite this, however, Castform can be a fairly good Pokémon based off of its expansive movepool. It has access to many great coverage moves and a wide number of Water, Ice, Fire, and Electric moves to supplement its Normal-type coverage. In addition, Castform can change its type, but as stated before it has to spend a turn using a weather move. Consider it to be a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none. With its coverage, it can be specifically tailored with TMs to be supereffective against certain foes - however, in some cases even supereffective coverage won’t help it in scoring a OKHO. It also has to deal with possible death when it doesn’t get the OHKO. Essentially, Castform is alright when you get it and only gets worse.
Important Battles:
Cheren: N/A
Roxie: N/A
Burgh: N/A
Elesa: N/A
Clay: Performs reasonably well against Krokorok, and can be used against Palpitoad, but can get OHKO’d by Excadrill.
Skyla: Will get outsped and OHKO’d by Unfezant and Swoobat, but can OHKO Swanna and Skarmory with Electric and Fire moves if not outsped.
Drayden: Will probably get outsped by Flygon and Haxorus, but can inflict reasonable damage on Druddigon with Ice-type moves.
Marlon: Can hurt his Pokémon with Electric-type moves, but struggles with Marlon’s neutral coverage on itself.
Corliss: Can do damage with Fire-type moves, but may get OHKO’d by any of his Pokémon.
Ghetsis: Definitely won’t be doing much. Will probably get wrecked by any of his Pokémon.
Final Rival Battle: Can perform reasonably well against their monkey, but outside of that will probably get OHKO’d. Can beat Serperior if Sunny Day is used.
Shauntal: Will get OHKO’d by most Pokémon, may be able to deal with Chandelure in Rain.
Marshal: Will most definitely get OHKO’d.
Grimsley: Can deal with Liepard, but even that is a stretch. Will get destroyed by Scrafty.
Caitlin: Struggles with her powerful Psychic-type attacks. Cannot deal with Focus Blast at all.
Iris: If outsped, it WILL get OHKO’d. Try to boost its Speed so it can score an OHKO or two with Blizzard under Hail. Can only take on Lapras with Thunder in Rain.

Pokémon: Sawk
Tier:
Mid
Possibility of Capture: Mid
Survivability:
Mid
Summary: Despite being a complete dick to even encounter in W2 (5% in shaking grass FTW), Sawk is a great filler for the endgame portion if you have some very big gaps in your team. Coming instantly with Close Combat (a very important move to beat the shit out of Audinos for quick gridning purposes, while being a generally strong move in general) and 1 Heart Scale away from Bulk Up, Sawk can be capable of dishing out some serious damage, while Sturdy gives it some interesting options such as the ability to safely run things like Macho Brace Payback against Caitlin, or Reversal as a form of last ditch offense (and a strong STAB that doesn't murder defenses). Sawk is also compatible with the Ice Punch tutor, which gives it some form of use against Iris outside of whacking half her team with CC (which is also mostly why it's definitely not Low tier). Sawk's versatility with Sturdy makes him one of the best Pokemon to use for endgame, and having a guaranteed survival at 100% HP from any attack is one of the best things that can happen in a Nuzlocke.
Important Battle Match-Ups:

Final Rival Battle: While Sawk has dubious use against Unfezant (Rock Slide, but type matchup says hi), he has immense contribution against Bouffalant, who packs a rather strong STAB Head Charge. He can have use against the monkeys/starters given if he has the appropriate punch, but is generally not recommended (outside of a random CC nuke if you feel gutsy), especially when their STAB attacks are further powered up by a held item.
Shauntal: Generally not recommended for use, even though Macho Brace Payback is a valid option. Aftermath from Drifblim, Flame Body from Chandy and Mummy from Cofagrigus all have a shot at screwing Sawk over. Useful against Golurk, but anything with a good grass attack/surf probably has a better chance against him anyway.
Grimsley: CC is capable of landing OHKOs on everything except maybe Scrafty who doesn't even pose a threat to Sawk. The only thing you really need to watch here is Fake Out + Aerial Ace from Liepard, which ironically is the only time where Inner Focus is more useful than Sturdy. Beware of Attract too.
Marshal: A rather iffy choice for this battle as Sawk lacks any form of type advantage against Marshal, making him a rather risky choice. Close Combat hits like a truck but against Throh and Conkeldurr it's a risky choice. Mienshao has Bounce, so stay away. Sawk vs. Sawk is workable, but ensure that you're at least of a higher level.
Caitlin: While Sawk may seem like an odd choice for this battle, Sawk can use Macho Brace Payback to some extent (it's still outrunning Musharna and Reuniclus sadly, but it should be able to use full power against Goth). If you plan to use it on Sigilyph, beware of Air Slash, which fucks you over no matter what you do (Sturdy can make you flinch, Inner Focus can make you die). Again, being of a higher level works here, but try not to be too high, or Sawk won't be able to be useful against Gothitelle. In the very least, don't make Sawk your main offense here.
Iris: Sawk is a hero. This battle is mainly why Sawk isn't in Low: Sawk's type advantages against Aggron, Lapras and Hydreigon are very helpful in this battle. Sawk is capable of landing a nice OHKO with Black Belt Close Combat on these three, with the added bonus of being faster than the former two. Ice Punch Sawk can help clean up house, although beware that Mold Breaker Haxorus negates Sturdy.

Bouffalant
Druddigon

Pokémon: Golurk
Tier: Low
Chance of Capture: Low
Survivability: Mid
Availability: Endgame
Summary: Golurk comes SO late in the game, in Victory Road. Even then its only a 30% chance to catch it (the other 70% is Banette). Golurk, if caught though, can perform well endgame. Effective against two of the four Elite Four and even able to hold its own against Iris if given the proper movepool. In order to be effective, however, it must be able to be trained.
Important Battles:

Burgh: N/A
Elesa: N/A
Clay: N/A
Skyla: N/A
Drayden: N/A
Marlon: N/A
Corliss: N/A
Ghetsis: N/A
Final Rival Battle: Can be effective against the rival’s Emboar, Bouffalant, and Unfezant due to passable defenses and STAB attacks.
Shauntal: One of the two Elite Four that Golurk struggles against. Her supereffective Ghost-type attacks cause Golurk much pain.
Marshal: Is resistant against essentially every single attack they can throw at Golurk, besides the odd Payback or Ice Punch.
Grimsley: Shouldn’t be used in this battle. Will get OHKO’d by the supereffective Dark-type attacks for sure.
Caitlin: Can do some serious damage with Shadow Punch, but needs to be wary of Shadow Ball on some Pokémon.
Iris: Can be very effective, except against Lapras. Using Ice Punch, it can take down many of her Pokémon.

Pokémon: Zweilous
Tier: Bottom
Possibility of Capture: Low
Survivability: Poor
Summary: Zweilous comes late game and doesn't evolve until level 64. It has decent stats, especially Attack, but beyond that it lacks any sort of defensive typing for the important battles it is around for besides arguably Caitlin and Shauntal. Its ability, Hustle, is also a risk considering a miss for Zweilous could potentially mean a fatal hit. All in all, a bad Pokémon that comes late. Unless you're strapped for Pokémon or absolutely need a physical Dark/Dragon type, don't put Zweilous into your team's rotation.

Burgh: N/A
Elesa: N/A
Clay: N/A
Skyla: N/A
Drayden: N/A
Marlon: N/A
Corliss: N/A
Ghetsis: N/A
Final Rival Battle: Can perform decently against the rival's Serperior, if you chose Oshawott. Will probably be OHKO'd by all other Pokémon's Bug, Fighting, and Ice type moves, but even has to watch out for Dragon Tail on Serperior.
Shauntal: Needs to watch out for Cofagrigus's Will-o-Wisp and others' Focus Blast.
Grimsley: Can perform well against Pokémon without a type advantage (Scrafty).
Marshal: Will get OHKO'd for sure.
Caitlin: Needs to watch out for Focus Blast again.
Iris: Will get outsped and OHKO'd by her superior Dragon-types.

I'll post an example of what I'm looking for with something easy - Zweilous.

A few more comments. I'll be editing in the sprites later today, as I realize they would help substantially.

Also, feel free to write as many as you want, unless there's competition for a few spots. Then you guys should PM me about it.

Matinary wrote a great example of what a viable Pokèmon looks like, as opposed to my Zweilous looking like crap because it is crap. :3

Just going to give this a go.
General Format:

Pokémon: Sawk
Tier:

Ice Punch Sawk can help clean up house, although beware that Mold Breaker Haxorus negates Sturdy.

...this is too wordy i think :X

Touched it up, but it looks great! Thanks.

If any aspiring artists are interested in drawing us a banner, that would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, having ended up using one on my W2 nuzlocke, I'll go and do Azurill!
Azurill - High/Top
Possibilty of capture: Very high
Survivability: Surprisingly good!
Summary:
Azurill is good from the start of your nuzlocke, and great 'til the end! It has nice bulk, which is always good in nuzlockes, a great ability to help its attacking stat and it has great match-ups against most of the trainers. There is a massive problem though; it is next to useless with its other ability, cute charm or something, as it cannot hit other pokemon at all, and in a nuzlocke you have to catch whatever you get first, which could end up as cute charm azurill.
Cheren: Was my savior. It solo'd Patrat with ease, and when my starter AND pidove died to a worked up lillipup, azurill came in and won! Totally shows how good it is, just train it to a minimum of level 11 and give it charm, that is why it is good.
Roxie: Magnemite solo'd her for me (lucky huh) so am not sure, but by the looks of things it should be able to handle dogars.
Burgh Bounce. Bounce + a water attack for dwebble. In my nuzlocke I honestly just sent in my magnemite to deal with it since marril by that time is so great. Magnemite died due to a crit and 2 misses so Marill had to take down dwebble. Then leavanny was so easy.
Elesa OMG SUCH A FUN FIGHT. In my nuzlocke, I ended up with my azumarill, a combee or something and then a sigilyph (ik, the chances of that...). Clearly my azumarill had to take the lead here, and it was a.. well, I don't want to say easy fight.. but.. hehe. Basically Azumarill solo'd elesa when she was so weak to her attacks (use aqua ring first turn and attach leftovers) which proves its incredible bulk.
Clay Well if you want to use Azumarill then it really will work great, I used her on Clay's Excadrill and she did great, I tried to get my combee some experience in this fight though.
Skyla Use ice punch. Seriously, I know it is hard to believe that I have used Azumarill in practically every gym, but everything else was under-leveled as the rest of my party kept dieng. :P
Drayden Ice punch = Easy solo, even in a nuzlocke. If you do not want to risk it then just use him for flygon and one other, but it really is pretty darn easy.
Marlon Yep, no use here when I did it. I predict him good on carracosta though, since it should have superpower by now.
Colress Use him if you are a complete and utter idiot and want him to die a horrible painful and gruesome death. However, if you get rid of magneton and magnezone early on then he can be good against his other steels, as it resists their steel attacks. I did not use him at all, but in theory it would be good.
Ghetsis Mine did well on hydreigon (favorite name ever, just saying it is so fun!) due to ice punch, however it is not great on the rest.
Elite four as a whole: I did not use mine at all, (he's not dieng while Iris is at the end!!!) except on bisharp, but in theory it should work well, especially on grimsley as it can superpower sweep any 2 of his pokemon, and then Bisharp at the end even with negative boosts. Nothing much that I can say here, to be honest.. but now for its time to shine... IRIS!!!
Iris Mine died. She died after a massive effort, though. It took out aggron, archeops and druddigon with ease. However, a tip from me. Do NOT SEND IT OUT AGAINST HAXORUS. Haxorus somehow has great defense, or Azumarill did end up lacking in the last fight, but I had nothing that I could do! After the elite four battles (and the 2 that died from that effing hydreigon) I had left Azumarill and a.. another Azumarill (dupes was not on) so neither could do any good! Ice punch got the freeze though, and dwindled down the health by a lot. I did win, the other azumarill managed to take it down by surviving a blow (so that only makes azumarill as a whole better!) but yeah, that.
To summarize: I would dare say a top tier pokemon if not for the danger of you getting a cute charm azurill.

mold breaker does not negate pure/huge power, as pure/huge power dont hinder enemy attacks in any way, which is what mold breaker negates.

I wrote three more analysis for Pokémon that would probably not be picked, since they're not very common Pokémon. If others really want to do these, just PM me and I'll use yours instead.

Cheren: N/A
Roxie: N/A
Burgh: N/A
Elesa: N/A
Clay: N/A
Skyla: N/A
Drayden: N/A
Marlon: N/A
Corliss: N/A
Ghetsis: N/A
Final Rival Battle: Can be effective against the rival’s Emboar, Bouffalant, and Unfezant due to passable defenses and STAB attacks.

Will update the thread soon.

Pokémon: Magnemite
Tier: High (definitely top if it has the right ability)

Updated thread - added sprites and such. Celever, if you would be so kind as to touch up your analysis to fit the format, I'll be happy to add it!

Blob, I just have the suggestion of linking to the post with the described Pokemon so that people can see what the whole argument is.
You mean instead of editing and pasting their argument?

I see merit in that, seems a lot easier. I may switch to a system similar to normal in-game tier threads soon, where I just lossy current rankings of Pokèmon based on votes/reactions/discussions.

Blob, Azurill seems up to what you want. Could you please elaborate what you want me to do with it?

Edit for below: Ok, sorted out

Blob, Azurill seems up to what you want. Could you please elaborate what you want me to do with it?
It's up to snuff besides the comment about Huge Power being negated by Mold Breaker. I may implement what Organization Member XIV was talking about, however, and allow viewers to look through discussions rather than have one review solely representative of how the community feels.

Alright, I decided to keep the same format, after looking at some of the threads of in-game tiers. Think of the GSC Tier thread in a little different style.

Reviews would be very good, people! :)

Think I'll invade here and put my two cents in.

Gothitelle

Tier: Low
Chance of Capture: Mid
Survivability: Once it's a Gothitelle, really good. Otherwise not so much.
Availability: Mid or late game.

Summery: Gothitelle is weird. It kinda sucks in its first two forms, but its final form is really good, being sort of a jack of all trades sort of deal. She's pretty slow, but takes hits quite well and does just enough damage to be useful. You're almost certain to get one in the Creepy House, as they appear quite often. Again, lacking in the usefulness until you evolve it at Level 41 is kind of a bummer, which is why it's in Low. If anything, it just rips through Team Plasma.

Matchups:
Elesa: Probably not a good matchup; Elesa's Pokemon deal a heck of a lot of damage to Gothita.
Clay: You should be golden against the Sandslash, but Krokorok and Excadrill both murderize Gothorita. Assuming you have Gothorita at this point.
Skyla: If only you got the Charge Beam TM before Skyla...alas, Skyla's not a good matchup for Gothorita.
Drayden: Nope, Dark Type moves tear Gothitelle to shreds.
Colress: Not a good matchup either, Psychic doesn't do well against Steel, I'm afraid.
Ghetsis: Finally, a match Gothitelle does well in. Seismitoad is destroyed by Energy Ball (You did go back and get it in the starting town, right?) and Toxicroak is destroyed by Psychic (Watch out for Sucker Punch, though).
Final Rival Battle: Simipour dies to Energy Ball or T-Bolt, and that's pretty much it.
Shauntel: Nope
Grimsley: NOPE
Marshal: Watch out for Payback, but otherwise Gothitelle dominates.
Caitlin: Siglyph is destroyed by T-Bolt, and that's it.
Iris: Lapras can be handled by Gothitelle, but it's risky. That's pretty much it.

EDIT: I'll do another one, just for kicks.

Sandslash

Tier: Mid
Chance of Capture: Very good in the desert areas.
Survivability: Against physical attacks, pretty good. Special attacks are a no-no, though.
Availability: Mid-game, in the middle of the desert routes. You can also find fully evolved Sandslash in the Ruins where you encounter the big Volcarona.

Matchups:
Burgh: It can beat Whirlipede and Dwebble, but Leavenny kills it dead.
Elesa: It packs the defense to take repeated hits from resisted Flame Charge, and bites back with STAB SE Magnitude. Emolga requires Rock Tomb, though.
Clay: It can beat Excadrill thanks to its Ground weakness, but beware of Krokorok and Clay's own Sandslash.
Skyla: Swoobat and Swanna wreck Sandslash thanks to its abysmal SpDef, but Unfezent is a win so long as Sandslash has Rock Slide.
Drayden: Sandslash has really good defense, so it can take hits from Druddigon, but Haxorus hits way too hard for Sandslash to survive. Flygon is a toss-up, as long as Flygon derps around, Sandslash wins. Otherwise Flygon overpowers it.
Colress: Sandslash wrecks his entire team. You have a win here.
Ghetsis: Toxicroak and Cofagrigus are both wins for Sandslash (use Shadow Claw for Cofagrigus). Unfortunately Eelektross is immune to EQ, so it wins (it'd win anyway thanks to it being a special attacking varient).
Final Rival Battle: Pretty much the only thing Sandslash is good at here is killing Bouffalant. The starters either hit weaknesses or hit way too hard with STAB for the digger to survive.
Shauntal: Chandelure packs a gigantic SpAtk score. This should spell out his performance here. He can get rid of the Cofagrigus with Swords Dance boosted Shadow Claw, though.
Grimsley: Bisharp dies to EQ, and anything can take Liepard out. Scrafty hits pretty hard, though, and Krook nerfs your attack and hits hard with its own STAB.
Caitlin: Not only does she pack special attackers, some of them pack Energy Ball. Not even Shadow Claw can save Sandslash here.
Marshal: Although his team hits hard, you'll also be hitting hard with SD boosted EQ. It depends on how Lady Luck treats you here.
Iris: Aggron dies to EQ, but that's pretty much it. Lapras kills it dead, Hydreigon packs a special set, Haxorus survives on Focus Sash and hits back terribly hard, Archeops hits terribly hard, and Druddigon takes a lot of punishment.

Swoobat

Tier: Low
Chance of Capture: You'll either get a Zubat or one of these. Chances are good you'll get one, though.
Survivability: Pretty bad. The poor bat was decent in B/W when you had time to keep it alive while it was good and evolve it as soon as it started to peter off, but this game isn't as merciful.
Availability: Early game, right after the Castelia Sewers.

Summery: Swoobat is kinda weird looking, and its Psychic/Flying typing is a really good type for B2W2 in-game. It also has a great Base 114 Speed stat. That's all the good points about Swoobat, I'm afraid. Below average stats in all other areas other than speed, being restricted to Psychic and Flying type attacks, and being weak to the majority of the mid-game is a bad, bad combo. It does get its own signiture move in Heart Stamp, which is basically a Psychic type Bite, but that's not really great when your base attack stat is in the seventies. It's also cursed with being a fairly high level when you find it, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't a happiness evolution.

Matchups:
Burgh: You'd think that a Flying type would do well here, but its Psychic typing hinders a sweeping attempt. Dwebble packs Smack Down just like it did in B/W, and Leavanny got an upgrade as well. Regardless, it does kill Swadloon and Challenge Mode's Karrablast without too much trouble. Shelmet's not a problem due to its terrible set.
Elesa: You really want to kill your Woobat off that badly? Well, I guess it can kill off her Joltik...don't expect too much, though.
Clay: Sandslash's terribad SpDef and subpar speed means that your Swoobat should kill it without a hassle. Challenge Mode Onix is also outsped and 2HKO'd (thanks to Sturdy), although you should survive a STAB Rock Slide from it. Mind you, both the Sandslash and Onix pack Rock Slide.
Skyla: Swoobat can beat itself with Assurance and the Siglyph the same way (though it'll take longer due to Hypnosis shenanigans). Skarm and Swanna will prove too much, though.
Drayden: NOPE, everything in this gym either hits like a truck or packs Super Effective hits (or both, in the case of Drayden's entire Normal Mode team and 3 of his four members in his Challenge Mode team). Swoobat's subpar defenses won't save it here.
Colress: NOPE, you're situation is even worse here, since his team resists everything you throw at it.
Ghetsis: Toxicroak is a complete joke (though watch out for Sucker Punch), and it can beat Seismitoad with Energy Ball. It gets destroyed by the other members, though.
Marlon: It can beat Carracosta with Energy Ball if it's lucky and doesn't get targeted by Smack Down or Crunch. Beware, Shell Smash might cause Carracosta to act before Swoobat on the second turn. It also beats Wailord, though not in Challenge Mode thanks to it getting Ice Beam there. Everyone else either has stupid high SpDef (Mantine) or hits with Ominous Wind/Shadow Ball (Jellicent)
Final Rival Battle: It can beat Serperior and Simisage, but everyone else hits way too hard, especially the other two starters buffed with their hold items (Charcoal Flamethrower!!!)
Shauntal: Not buying a win here. Everyone packs either Shadow Ball or Shadow Punch, which destroy Swoobat.
Grimsley: Scrafty /could/ die to Air Slash, but it's risky, and you'd be taking a Crunch if it misses/doesn't kill it. Everyone else hits too hard with STAB for a win here.
Caitlin: You could concievably take Reunicles thanks to resistances if you're patient, but everyone else packs Super Effective coverage moves, whether it be Ice Beam or Thunderbolt.
Marshal: Your chances of victory here are the same as they were in the first game; either you kill him with STAB Psychic, or he kills you with coverage moves (Rock Slide, Payback, U-Turn). Mind you, in Challenge Mode, Lucario destroys you with no problem.
Iris: Swoobat does diddly squat in this fight, because everyone packs either a Super Effective move or are just terrifically powerful (Haxorus).

Pidove

Tier: Mid
Chance of Capture: High
Survivability: Low
Availability: Right at the start!

Summary:
Pidove is bad when it is in it's starting form. It doesn't get any good moves until it becomes a Tranquil. Once it's a Tranquil it obtains Air Cutter, an extremely good move in-game. It can use it's speed to outspeed and OHKO, but be careful as it's very frail. Also it's matchups aren't very good, but it's effective against normal trainers. Make sure to teach it Work Up and Return by TM!

Matchups:
Cheren: After a 1 or 2 Work Up boosts Tranquil can pretty much dominate.
Roxie: It's too frail and her pokes are too bulky to be OH/2HKOED
Burgh: Kills Swadloon and Leavanny, however Dwebble will kill you.
Elesa: lolnope
Clay: Sandslash and Krokorok can't touch it, but you can't really do anything to Exca
Skyla: You'll do ok against Swanna and Swoobat, however Skarmory kills it. Don't use it unless you really need to.
Drayden: Watch out for Flygon's Rock Slide, that's an OHKO. Otherwise it's pretty good.
Colress: NO
Ghetsis: Unfezant does pretty good against his whole team except Hydreigon and Eelektross
Marlon: Does good against Jelly but is horrible against his other mons.
Final Rival Battle: It pretty much dies against anything except emboar/serperior and the other Unfezant.
Shauntal: Unfezant uses it's Immunity to Ghost and it's resistance to most of her pokes coverage moves to pretty much destroy Shauntal.
Grimsley: Not worth using, too much danger
Marshal: Watch out for Conkeldurr, but beats his other mons.
Caitlin: 3 of her pokes have super-effective coverage, don't use it.
Iris: NO IT'LL DIE

And to think, people preferred this over the much-more-useful Buneary (who can support with Baton Pass)

Pokémon: Skitty
Tier: Bottom
Possibility of Capture: Version Exclusive, only available in White 2 - Low there.
Survivability: Really really low.
Summary: Ah, Skitty. Despite cute looks, it doesn't take long to realize that it is completely useless in battle (this coming from the man who solod Sapphire with it, that's saying a lot). It can evolve early, but even if you are lucky enough to not be immediately crippled by Normalize, it won't last long against far better options for even pure Normal types, such as Stoutland, it's version exclusive partner Lopunny, Raticate, Audino, and even Dunsparce and Castform.

It has a wide special movepool, but Audino does to, and can survive longer - if you're looking for a low survivability Normal, look for Castform, who has some cool weather gimmics. It can pretend to be a "fast" physical attacker, but Stoutland easily outdoes it, and Raticate outperforms it - to say nothing of Bouffalant, who smashes it to pieces. With 70/65/55 defenses upon evolution, it won't be surviving any hits at all. Support wise, it looks reasonable, with Sing, Fake Out, Charm, Heal Bell, and Thunder Wave... except Dunsparce does the whole "stop things from killing you" better with Glare, Thunder Wave, and Yawn, and Lopunny blows it out of the water by sheer utility of Baton Pass/Agility. It could set up with Work Up, but then so can just about anything else.

Oh, and no mention of Skitty can go without abilities. Magnemite gets the marginally useful Magnet Pull (enemies can switch, sometimes) and the grand Sturdy, Skitty gets... the very minorly useful Cute Charm and the dead USELESS Normalize, which makes it even worse against a lot of things!

Overall, there is nothing worth using about Skitty.
Important Battle Match-Ups:
Cheren: N/A
Roxie: N/A
Burgh: Without the extra power an Evolution would give it, Skitty will be blown out of the water by Burgh.
Elesa: See above, add in a Zebstrika who abuses it to become even faster and Volt Change shenanigans.
Clay: It COULD be evolved by now, but even with the boost you'll be unable to do much against any of his pokemon. I... guess you could try to Charmstall to beat his Hone Claws on Excadrill, but you'll need something else to kill, expecially with Normalize. You CAN T-Wave through the type with Normalize though... yay? So can Dunsparce.
Skyla: Useless against Skarmory, very close to useless against anything else.
Drayden: Everything outspeeds and either OHKOs or close to it. Except Druddigon. It goes second and OHKOs.
Marlon: Shell Smash bait for Carracosta, Rollout bait for Wailord, and can't do ANYTHING to Jellecent even without Normalize. Don't even get started on Challenge mode.
Corless: A team of Steel types and a pokemon who can set up against... a pokemon who may well only know Normal moves. Grand. I guess it could T-Wave Beyeheem, but so can a lot of other things.
Ghetsis: Second verse, same as the first, a little bit faster and a whole lot worse. Uses a ghost, by the way.
Final Rival Battle: Much like IWBTG, everything can and will kill you.
Shauntal: A team of ghosts, against something that potentially cannot do a single thing. Yeah.
Grimsley: ALL HIS TEAM not named Liepard CAN DESTROY YOU. And Liepard will still win in a 1 on 1.
Marshal: If you live a hit, you either massively overleveled, had a Focus item, or managed to somehow amass a Burn and three Charms.
Caitlin: Half the team can stat up on you. The rest takes one attack to blow you away.
Iris: If you have managed to get your Delcatty this far, you have done really, really well. Or stopped actually using it. Either way, if the time comes that you need a sacrifice, it would be a good time to throw it out.
