========

Diancie is a great Stealth Rock setter because its typing and bulk grant it multiple opportunities to switch in and set entry hazards, and it can pressure common removers with its coverage and sheer power. Moonblast threatens Fighting- and Dark-types like Passimian and Guzzlord and is Diancie's most consistent form of neutral damage against Pokemon like Slowbro, Torterra, and Blastoise. Power Gem targets common forms of hazard removal in Xatu and Golbat as well as other Flying- and Fire-types like Braviary, Vivillon, Incineroar, and Charizard. Earth Power rounds off Diancie's coverage by letting it hit Steel-types such as Steelix and Silvally-Steel super effectively.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack EVs alongside a Modest nature improve Diancie's damage output, while 68 Speed EVs let it outspeed everything up to Bulk Up Scrafty. The remaining EVs go into HP so that Diancie better checks Pokemon like Sneasel, Braviary, and Guzzlord. A Shuca Berry assists Diancie in checking Pokemon like Rhydon and Swords Dance Incineroar that rely on Ground-type moves to do meaningful damage to it; however, Leftovers can be run to provide Diancie with passive recovery, letting it more consistently check Pokemon like Accelgor and Houndoom. Fairium Z or Groundium Z can be run on Diancie if its team has an open Z-Crystal slot, reducing the damage it takes from Knock Off. Additionally, Fairium Z lets Diancie chunk bulky Water-types like Vaporeon and Blastoise, while Groundium Z does the same to Steelix and Rhydon; however, the defensive utility provided from Shuca Berry and Leftovers is usually more appreciated. Clear Body is Diancie's only ability, and it rarely comes into use, only really serving to prevent Silvally-Steel from pivoting out against Diancie with Parting Shot.

Usage Tips
========

Diancie should aim to set Stealth Rock as early as possible to prevent the opponent from freely switching; it gets opportunities to set Stealth Rock against Pokemon it checks like Sneasel, Braviary, and Houndoom. However, be hesitant to use Stealth Rock versus teams with Xatu; instead, try to OHKO it with Power Gem as it switches in. Due to Diancie's solid damage output, spamming attacks early-game is optimal to weaken switch-ins. Although Moonblast is Diancie's most consistent source of damage, it's worthwhile to predict switch-ins and hit them with Diancie's coverage moves. For example, if predicting a Steel-type or grounded Poison-type to switch in, using Earth Power is ideal. If not opting for Shuca Berry, be careful when switching Diancie into Incineroar. Pivot variants can 3HKO Diancie with Earthquake, while Groundium Z ones can OHKO Diancie with +2 Tectonic Rage. Because Diancie lacks any form of recovery outside of potential Leftovers, don't haphazardly switch it into attacks, as it will be worn down quickly and thus fail to check what it's meant to.

Team Options
========

Due to Diancie's lack of reliable recovery, Wish support from Pokemon like Vaporeon and Delphox can help keep Diancie healthy throughout the battle. Additionally, Vaporeon can manage Ground- and Steel-types like Rhydon and Steelix for Diancie, while Delphox can reliably take on Grass-types like Sceptile and Whimsicott. Other Pokemon such as Rotom and Blastoise that reliably deal with Ground-types are good to pair alongside Diancie. Rotom and Blastoise are also able to remove entry hazards with Defog and Rapid Spin, which helps with Diancie's longevity. Grass-types such as Sceptile, Dhelmise, Torterra, and Decidueye go well with Diancie, as they appreciate its ability to check Fire-types, Flying-types, and Sneasel and enjoy how Diancie offensively pressures Steel- and Poison-types. In return, they can easily dispatch of Water- and Ground-types such as Slowbro and Rhydon that threaten Diancie. Fast, fragile attackers like Heliolisk, Medicham, and Sigilyph enjoy Diancie's ability to threaten common revenge killers in Accelgor and Choice Scarf Passimian. Other offensive Pokemon like Comfey and Vivillon appreciate Diancie's ability to manage Steel-types with Earth Power, as it enables them to more easily spam their STAB attacks.

alright this is good to go for checking. was considering adding a bullet about this variant appreciating defensive support in regards to like, checking fire- and fighting-types, since this set does that less effectively, but I couldn't figure out how to word that. if one of y'all wants to assist with that (assuming you feel it's necessary; it may not be given the other bullets), that'd be much appreciated !!

252 Special Attack EVs alongside a Modest nature improve Diancie's damage output, while 20 Speed EVs let it outspeed pivot Incineroar ((((run 68 speed imo, allows u to outspeed bu scrafty which could def come into clutch considering how much of a bitch that mon is, also just works as general creep considering diancie sits at the same speed tier as plume and other diancies so thats def nice)))).

Usage Tips
========

For example, if predicting a Steel-type or grounded Poison-type to switch in, then using Earth Power is ideal.

========
