micuat, I have a question. On the Japanese qualifier site, I can only find the results/names of the junior winners for each stop(it has their picture, a short description, etc). Is there something like this for the senior division, that lists the winner and second place finisher for each stop? I am unable to read much Japanese, otherwise I would try to go find it myself.
You can see blue and red boxes on that site. Blue ones are the winner of video game (and red ones are cardgames) and there are senior winners' description on the right of the juniors' picture. I don't know why but seniors' pictures are not shown on that site except few of them.

Actually Iv check, fast egg, and Ev modifier and clone cannot be detected as one of the orlando contestants used all of them :) and was checked

@haku16 = I would not use AR for anything if you plan on entering in Showdown. They can detect most, if not all, codes that you use, so it is smarter to play it safe than sorry. ;) Plus, it's just a better practice to not use AR for anything in Pokemon. :)
[/quote]Exactly what i'm going to do. Not even use fast egg on them. i'll use my Magby :).

I don't know man, do you have proof he used them becuz you might be shitting me

One, use the quote button, two I know him, but he told me not to tell who he was because he'd be bothered by questions about his team blah blah.
Only those four are undetected hacks. If you use any others you will be caught
EDIT: Half proof is that one of the players was using goodbar's redistributable Jolteon which was cloned via AR. I should go find the thread but it's pretty old

I am really wary of that. =/ If he is going to make claims about Nintendo's checking precision, he should at least say who he is(none of this secrecy business). How does he exactly know that those four codes are 'undetected'? Has he gotten info from PUI about this? How does he know that if someone uses other codes they will be caught? Did he try and was DQed quietly? The thread you mentioned would help a little bit; it doesn't really matter that it's old because nobody is going to be posting in it anyways. >_>

Not that I would ever use AR, because I like my pokes 100% legitimate so I don't have to worry about anything, but I want to know how he got this information.

Because those four are the one of the only few that don't leave junk data behind for them to find (there are a ew more but the others aren't as useful as the ones mentioned). let's just say that he was from the NY qualifier and defeated me in the round before the orlando cut and i've been in contact with him ever since. Also they did take my game away for a couple minutes while my game had used clone iv and fast egg plenty of times but nothing happened assuming they took my game away for a hack check

They have custom PBRs that automatically hack check the games and pokemon of the finalists? Interesting, I didn't know that. I knew they had changed the titles of a few things and such, but I didn't know they altered the code to hack check the games themselves.

It is not PBR it self, it has been stripped of its single player mode and many other feathures, and it is replaced with better hack checks and at the bottom on the screen it had the Showdown 2008 symbol.

it was WAY cool. but yes, the game will hack check the game when you link to it. and if they have the power to get their own custom made games, they have the power to get better hack checks. if that guy who hacked through showdown posted about it on a public forum, PUI probbily caught wind of it andis fixing any errors. PUI watches these forums regularly. Pokegym, serebii, pokebeach and even here at smogon, so there very well may be a better hack check this year and for years to come.

I dont even have an AR, so this hack checking stuff is nothing for me to worry about.
Anyways, i am having some serious trouble making a team. I REALLY dont want to lose this, and i dont even know which kind of team to make from these:
Trick Room
Sunny Day
Rain Dance
Hail
I want to try trick room, but so many people are trying to counter it.
Rain Dance, stopped from trick room
Sunny Day, IDK about this one
Hail, easily beaten by weavile and typhlosion....

OMG, the conspiracy is true! They are out to target smogoners to make them not do well! AAAAAAA!

Personally, I doubt they watch that much, if at all, but w/e.

Don't ask but try those teams. Trick Room, Rain Dance and Goodstuffs are very powerful and worth trying.
I posted the results of 2008-2009 torney and that will be resources for making your team. Molf's Trick Room team and Chiba winner's Goodstuffs(Latios/Metagross/Gyarados/Snorlax) are popular in Japan. There are few sophisticated Rain Dance team but 2007 2nd Keima's team(Ludicolo/Gyarados/Metagross/Kingdra) will help you make it.

i might try raindance and good stuff. it seems that Trickroom is very predictable and to me i feel its going to be countered since everyone is expecting it.

also anyone who is wondering i started my game over and going to rush it. to get to the national dex. for IV breeding.

Good stuff is just a bunch of good Pokemon, ie Metagross, Latios, Zapdos, Azelf, etc, no real strategy or the strategy is not evident until the battle takes place.

so its basically a bunch of good pokemon put together seeing how it does in doubles? lol, sounds like my singles team

That's cool; that explains why they were able to add the special music in the semi and final matches in Orlando, through this special PBR version. we should call it 'PUI version', lol. I knew that they check all these forums, so Shinryu, they have been checking them for a long time. since back before JAA I believe. and lol there is no conspiracy. :P

'goodstuffs' teams are pretty good. I ran into one yesterday on PBR and it 3-0ed my hail team. They usually have some pokes that benefit from any 'strategy'(rain or trick room), so almost always they will get some sort of benefit.

hmmm, i might make one lol
BTW i have my platinum preordered, just about $3 left :)
I also have another question, lol. Can a good stuff team still have some sort of strategy, yet still work well in other conditions, like rain and trick room?

well so far what i am hearing and watching good stuff has no realy stratgey but the fact that it works so well makes it popular. but then again im no expert so i would go to youtube and ask people like SeadraDS or even people like Micuat.
