Project OM Matchmaking - On Hiatus Until gen 9

If blaceph is good at one thing, it's giving a Scarf to Snorlax or Blissey. Have you ever tried to stop a Togekiss with a Scarf Snorlax ? No.. But if you had tried you'd know it doesn't work. Therefore I'm submitting this set :
:togekiss:
Togekiss @ Life Orb
Ability: Triage
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draining Kiss
- Flamethrower / Roost
- Psyshock
- Nasty Plot

Additionally, Psyshock allows this Togekiss to lure Blissey and potential Assault Vest users for Blacephalon to have an easier time breaking through. Most specially defensive cores (often one mon, Snorlax or Blissey) are heavily pressured by this specially offensive core, which is designed to make progress in any circumstance.
I guess they also have a little bit of a defensive synergy, Togekiss coming in on Ground and Dark moves that threaten Blacephalon (it's good at absorbing Knock Off notably) ; and Blaceph being able to take a Steel, Ice or Poison type attack for Togekiss.

When building with those two you should make sure you have a Magic Bounce user or a good Defoger as Togekiss is weak to rocks. You should also consider pivots that can deal with bulky Waters, as this core needs momentum and can be stopped by an unpressured Tapu Fini.

:ss/Kyurem:
Kyurem @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 64 SpD / 192 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Freeze-Dry
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Earth Power / Roost

Kyurem hits hard and covers the ground that the Clown cannot. It can switch on water moves from Fini or Pert and start denting the team, potentially opening a door for the Clown. While Kyurem doesn;t exactly appreciate it, it can also switch on Eq from defensive Chomp and avoid the 2HKO, potentially roosting off the damage.
Meanwhile the Clown can trick annoying stuff like Snorlax, Blobs or odd regenVest users to aid Kyurem, while also serving as a fighting switchin for triage Drain punch or body Press.

Together they put quite a bit of pressure on the opposing team. Just pack a defogger or smt.

Tapu Fini @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 208 Def / 52 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Scald
- Calm Mind
- Protect
I chose Poison Heal Tapu Fini as a partner for Blacephalon as something that could help Blacephalon in a Ground-type infested metagame, which Blacephalon really struggles against right now, especially Garchomp and Swampert. Tapu Fini is more or less able to deal with both of these in one slot, though SD Garchomp can usually end up beating Tapu Fini, though if Blacephalon is able to Trick the Garchomp, it effectively stops Garchomp from winning this matchup. Additionally, Tapu Fini is a decent check to Barraskewda which can cause issues for even Scarf Blacephalon with Aqua Jet. On the other hand, Blacephalon is somewhat able to check offensive Grass-types like Tapu Bulu, Dhelmise, and Zarude in a pinch, though it obviously can't switch into any of these and needs to remain at full health to properly live hits from them. Overall this core is pretty solid, though nothing special.

Stone Edge Triage Bulu
:ss/tapu bulu:
Tapu Bulu @ Life Orb
Ability: Triage
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Horn Leech
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Grass types in general are good partners for blace, since it draws in the fire resistant grounds like Swampert and Garchomp, the occasional FF Lando as well as Water types like Tapu Fini and Suicune. Bulu is the most offensively inclined of the grasses we have at our disposal and these two form a good offensive core for 2 reasons.

1) Tapu Bulu and Blace pressure each other's checks quite well. While neither of them possess pivoting moves so you have to make doubles if you want to abuse the switches that each of them forces, they line up very well against each other's counters. Bulu resists hate taking Mind Blown, whereas Blace resists tend to be setup fodder for Bulu (not to mention Blace also beats blanket physical checks like Mew, while Bulu beats Blanket special checks like Lax and Blissey). The two mons that act as checks to both Blace and Bulu are Noivern and PSea Zapdos, which is where Stone Edge instead of Darkest Lariat (which is the usual last move) comes into play. It can deal big damage to both of those on the switch, easily putting them in Shadow Ball range.
2) Triage lets Bulu form a speed control core with Blace. Similarly to how they exploit each other's defensive checks, each of the pair can revenge kill mons that the other can't as Scarf Mind Blown hits most Horn Leech resists quite hard.

As mentioned above, make sure a team with Scarf Blace and Bulu has adequate checks for Psea Zap and Noivern (especially if you wanna run the more standard Darkest Lariat Bulu variant). Additionally, a +2 Doublade can be troublesome for this core as it beats both Bulu and Blace 1v1, so make sure to pack an adequate Doublade counter. And last, neither one of these mons is a dedicated breaker, so make sure to also pack something that can soften up particularly sturdy defensive cores so that one of them can clean up in the lategame.

First post submission... no reservation necessary!

Doublade @ Eviolite
Ability: Ice Scales
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Careful Nature
- Entrainment / Rapid Spin
- Spectral Thief
- Anchor Shot
- Shore Up

Wall Dragon’s Mall, and Boomburst Kyurem-W / Xerneas. PHeal Xerneas is literally perfectly countered as well due to Anchor Shot and Spectral Thief.

Tanks Fighting moves for Regigigas, and Improofs for Toxic Orb Imposter. Can serve as a Final Gambit / Rapid Spin block, removes abilities like Poison Heal and Regenerator.

Trap opponents, and steal Boosts to stall out your foes. Rapid Spin can pair nicely with Anchor Shot for PP stall, and doesn’t allow Imposter to use it. Having immunity to Toxic Spikes, resistance to Stealth Rock, and little concern for Sticky Web makes it a good hazard remover.

Ice Scales for mixed walling, as they won’t pack Knock Off, Wicked Blow, or Spectral, while the biggest Ghost SpA was banned, which boosts Doublade’s viability since Moongeist Beam / Astral Barrage is much less popular.

Fills the niche of necessary Ghost / Steel in 1 slot for role compression, has a viable base Atk to make its STAB hit Xerneas, Kyurem-W / Black, Giratina, Calyrex-Ice, etc. hard.

Know why they call it Doublade?

Because it Doubles as a shield for your team, while serving as a Blade for your opponents’.

P.S. Know what makes that blonde hair shiny? It’s the L’Oréal from this set.

Blacephalon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- V-create
- Moongeist Beam
- Trick
- Blue Flare

Blacephalon beats this Gigas set's usual counters, including FC Giratina and Steels. It especially lures Flash Fire Steels and swiftly 2HKOs most of them with Moongeist Beam: 252 SpA Choice Specs Adaptability Blacephalon Moongeist Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Zamazenta-Crowned: 204-240 (52.5 - 61.8%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
It also lures in FC Waters namely Palkia and Kyogre, either Tricking them or 2HKOing with Moongeist.
Naive over Hasty for a better chance to live a Spectral Thief from defensive mons.

Reshiram @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Core Enforcer
- Eruption / Blue Flare
- Spikes
- Volt Switch

Regigigas can act as a great late game sweeper, and forces in a lot of fur coat pokemon, such as Zamazenta-C & Giratina in early game because of how strong its facade hits. To take advantage of these switchins and free up Regigigas to sweep lategame I have decided to pair Regigigas with Regenerator Reshiram. The two together have excellent longevity, and can hit each other's counters very hard. Reshiram can take advantage of teleport on gigas to make free progress by setting up spikes, and threaten Giratina & Zamazenta w/ eruption & core enforcer. Regigigas + Reshiram can form a great core together which can create and keep momentum really well and can stay healthy for the duration of a game.

Edit: Blue Flare can be used over Eruption to potentially guarantee a KO on Zacian-C, and allowing it to 1v1 and outlast most Zacian-Cs without earthquake / precipice blades.
252+ SpA Reshiram Blue Flare vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Zacian-Crowned: 372-440 (95.8 - 113.4%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Xerneas @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Thunder Cage
- Quiver Dance
- Spikes

Double Poison Heal is nice, common Ghost types are weak to Moonblast (Giratina being the main example), which is good for Regigigas, even with Glacial Lance being super-effective, as Moonblast is STAB. Both Pokémon are good at staying healthy without outside support thanks to their abilities, naturally. Regigigas is able to hit things like Volt Absorb Ho-Oh with Facade, which Xerneas is unable to do much to. Spikes is good at adding pressure to the opposing side alongside strong STAB options in a 140 BP Facade and Moonblast. Thunder Cage can trap Pokémon that are tough for Regigigas to take down by itself, like Zamazenta. Teleport on Regigigas is able to safely bring in Xerneas to set up its own Poison Heal, easily putting together the Poison Heal core. An immunity to Spectral Thief is great with Regigigas, as both Pokémon carry set up moves that can become too helpful to opponents.

Thunder Cage from Xerneas can also make Imposters coming in have a tough time because they don't get poisoned to benefit from the ability. Together they can bring down Imposter relatively well, and their combined bulk with passive healing helps to ease that process.

A good immediately powerful teammate would be helpful to these to for extra wall-breaking power, such as Zacian-Crowned, which can also set up Stealth Rock.

Recent talk of Tapu Koko in BH got me inspired to try it out myself and the result is this strange set. Tapu Koko has been a fav of mine since it released cause it reminds me of Yeezus and has a cool typing.

Tapu Koko @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Naive / Rash Nature
- Bolt Beak
- Mind Blown
- Moonblast
- Quiver Dance

Please take a moment of silence in honor of Light of Ruin and all of its fallen brethren.
Bolt Beak is really strong coming from LO Koko and it is just fast enough to outspeed Zama-C, who Regigigas really hates. This set targets all variants of Zama-C, with Bolt Beak able to 2HKO Flash Fire, Ice Scales, and RegenVest sets and Mind Blown able to 2HKO Fur Coat and other randoms like Bounce. LO boosted Moonblast is just strong enough to annoy Zyg-C and Giratina and even more so once boosted with Quiver Dance. Prankster Zyg-C that forego Thousand Waves can't easily deal with this guy. Also, this set is immune to the Gulp Missile Cramorant mega chip set that is becoming more common on ladder. Naive makes sure you outspeed speedy Zama-C but that is rare, so you can run +SpA with Rash to power up its middling Special Attack.
Here's a replay of Koko doing some work
252 Atk Life Orb Tapu Koko Bolt Beak (170 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zamazenta-Crowned: 185-218 (47.6 - 56.1%) -- 25% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Tapu Koko Mind Blown vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Zamazenta-Crowned: 190-226 (48.9 - 58.2%) -- 59.8% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Tapu Koko Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Giratina: 229-273 (45.4 - 54.1%) -- 43% chance to 2HKO
+1 252 SpA Life Orb Tapu Koko Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Zygarde-Complete: 398-471 (62.5 - 74%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Honorable Mention:

Yveltal @ Choice Specs
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Boomburst
- Fiery Wrath
- Oblivion Wing
- Trick

This guy also pairs well with Gigas since it targets Giratina well, but it is too slow to really punish Zama-C as well since it can get knocked and what not before it moves.

Kyurem dismantles Swampert—which is one of Cobalion's primary switchins—and also takes advantage of Volt Switch momentum on non-immune pivots into Cobalion like Zapdos or Volcarona in order to go for Dragon Dances and try to set up an opportunity to win, or just spam its attacks. Their synergy is in the fact hat Kyurem can boost its speed, so as Cobalion either Volt Switches or just plain switches out expecting a check to come in, while Kyurem can wear down opposing specially defensive steel-types like Jirachi and Corviknight with Icicle Spear.

Garchomp @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 236 HP / 44 Atk / 48 Def / 136 SpD / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Facade

Garchomp provides a really solid partner to cobalion, as Chomper's a good stallbreaker that can sd on a bunch of the more passive walls and threaten them out with 140bp facades or STAB eqs. Helps to take on and chip walls like zapdos and non-ice punch swampert as well, which allows cobalion to be a larger threat.

Ability: Triage
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
I chose Triage Gengar as a partner for Cobalion because I figured they have really nice offensive synergy in AAA. Triage Gengar is able to beat a lot of the faster threats that both of them hate such as Barraskewda, and Giga Drain coverage allows Gengar to beat Swampert. On the other hand, Cobalion is a solid check to Dark-types that annoy Gengar like Scarf Hydreigon and Tyranitar. This core struggles a little bit with bulky Fire-types like Volcarona and Incineroar, but it's definitely possible for this core to break past those two threats.

Deadline is in about 4 hours or so, let's get a few more posts in please
