[OVERVIEW]

Omastar's vast movepool, high Special Attack, and access to Shell Smash make it a threatening setup sweeper able to muscle through common special walls like Cryogonal and Audino and Water-type checks such as Lanturn and Jellicent depending on its Z-Crystal. Its decently high Defense and typing give it plenty of setup opportunities against threats like Silvally-Fairy, Alolan Sandslash, and Skuntank. This allows it to take full advantage of its ability Weak Armor, which allows it to outspeed common revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Primeape. Omastar's typing also allows it to force out defensive Pokemon like Regirock, giving it more setup opportunities. Moreover, its access to both Spikes and Stealth Rock makes it a potent lead on more offensive teams, which is further enhanced by its ability to threaten most Defoggers and spinners such as Lurantis, Articuno, and Cryogonal depending on what it decides to run. However, Omastar's typing grants it weaknesses to common typings like Fighting, Ground, and Grass, which, when combined with its atrocious special bulk, give it a harder time setting up and make it easy to revenge kill with moves like Mach Punch. Due to its poor Speed, it remains slower than Choice Scarf users like Primeape even after a Shell Smash, meaning it often can be reliant on triggering Weak Armor and left easier to pick off with a priority move like Sucker Punch. Omastar's Speed also hinders its job as a lead, as most Defoggers and spinners outspeed it and threaten it if it isn't running the right coverage. Lastly, Omastar suffers from competition with Carracosta and Ludicolo as sweepers, with the former carrying Aqua Jet and having better bulk, making it harder to revenge kill, and the latter having a superior Speed tier, typing, and movepool. As a lead, Lycanroc is considerably faster and has access to Taunt and Endeavor, while Qwilfish is also faster and has a superior typing along with Intimidate.

Moves
========

Ice Beam hits Grass- and Dragon-types like Leafeon, Torterra, and Drampa and is Omastar's best option to hit Ludicolo. Earth Power hits Lanturn and Steel-types like Alolan Sandslash for super effective damage, while Hidden Power Grass is a weaker option that forgoes OHKOing pivot Lanturn after Stealth Rock for pressuring Jellicent and Gastrodon more effectively, OHKOing the latter. Endure's an option, as it allows Omastar to survive a hit from faster Choice Scarf users that trigger Weak Armor, like Primeape and Dodrio.

Set Details
========

A Modest nature allows Omastar to always OHKO specially defensive Articuno and Assault Vest Crabominable with Hydro Vortex after using Shell Smash. A Modest nature also allows it to 2HKO Assault Vest Lanturn with Hidden Power Grass. However, a Timid nature sacrifices some of Omastar's power in exchange for some Speed, which makes it faster than Choice Scarf Kabutops and Skuntank after a Shell Smash. Groundium Z allows Omastar to get past Water-types like Jellicent and Lanturn with a boosted Tectonic Rage, which is also its best option against Ferroseed. However, this leaves Omastar unable to get past Pokemon like Articuno. White Herb resets Omastar's Defense and Special Defense after using Shell Smash or after a Weak Armor boost, making it harder to revenge kill.

Usage Tips
========

Omastar can be brought in early- to mid-game via U-turn or Volt Switch on Pokemon like Skuntank and Regirock to punch holes in the opposing team or set up, making it easier for a teammate to clean late-game when its switch-ins, like Lanturn, are weakened. If Omastar is not running Endure, it should aim to set up when faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Primeape and Dodrio have been KOed if it's needed to clean. However, if running Endure, it should wait until its switch-ins like Lanturn and Jellicent are in range of its attacks due its lack of appropriate coverage. Omastar should aim to set up against Pokemon it forces out like Skuntank, Regirock, and Mudsdale and Choice-locked threats like Stoutland, Primeape, and Dodrio. Omastar's respectable physical bulk allows it to switch into weaker, resisted physical attacks like Skuntank's Poison Jab and Alolan Sandslash's Icicle Crash to take advantage of Weak Armor, although doing so too often leaves Omastar in range of priority moves like Choice Band Absol's Sucker Punch and Gurdurr's Mach Punch.

Team Options
========

Wallbreakers like Stoutland, Absol, and Victreebel pressure common answers to Omastar like Gastrodon, Ferroseed, and Lanturn, with the former two Pursuit trapping them and the latter inviting in Flying-types like Dodrio and Oricorio-G for Omastar to take advantage of. Musharna also works, as it can force Pokemon out with Future Sight and support Omastar with Healing Wish, giving it more setup opportunities and allowing it to set up Shell Smash multiple times to wallbreak itself. Wallbreakers are especially important if Omastar is running Endure, as it struggles to break through Lanturn and Jellicent. In return, Omastar deals with physically bulky Pokemon like Regirock and Tangela that answer Stoutland and Absol. If not running Endure, Omastar appreciates Pokemon able to deal with revenge killers like Choice Scarf Primeape and Dodrio. Skuntank is a good option, as it can effectively KO them with Sucker Punch and Aftermath as well as Pursuit trap the aforementioned Jellicent and Cryogonal. In exchange, Omastar deals with Regirock and Mudsdale. Substitute Haunter and Swords Dance Silvally-Fairy take advantage of them if they're locked into a Fighting-type move and can make them wary about using it. Omastar greatly appreciates Spikes, as they put Pokemon like Lanturn and Roselia in range of moves like Earth Power and Ice Beam after it has used Shell Smash. They also chip its offensive answers like Kangaskhan and Choice Scarf Skuntank. Ferroseed is a solid partner, chipping Omastar's answers even further thanks to Iron Barbs. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Silvally-Fairy and Eelektross can bring Omastar in against defensive behemoths like Regirock and non-Toxic Audino they struggle against, giving Omastar more setup opportunities. Parting Shot and Memento support from the likes of Alolan Persian and Choice Scarf Skuntank is also appreciated, giving Omastar an easier time setting up. However, Alolan Persian and Omastar do compete for the Z-Crystal. Finally, other cleaners like Combusken and Calm Mind Oricorio-E can wear down shared checks like Jellicent and Articuno with Omastar, giving one or the other a considerably easier time cleaning. Combusken also pressures bulky Ice-types that threaten non-Waterium Z Omastar, like Crabominable, while Oricorio-E can pivot into Fighting- and Grass-types like Hitmonchan and Victreebel before Omastar has used Shell Smash. In return, Omastar takes advantage of some Fairy- and Rock-types like Carbink and Regirock that switch into Combusken and Oricorio-E.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Ice Beam threatens Grass- and Dragon-types like Leafeon and Drampa. It also pressures Lurantis and Altaria, which are important targets because they would otherwise freely get rid of Omastar's entry hazards with Defog. Rock Tomb is an alternative that hits Ice- and Flying-types like Cryogonal, Articuno, and Swanna, which otherwise don't have much difficulty shrugging off Omastar's attacks and get rid of its entry hazards. It's run over Stone Edge because its Speed drop allows Omastar to outspeed the aforementioned Pokemon and effectively 2HKO them, force them out, or set another layer of entry hazards.

Set Details
========

A Focus Sash is used to allow Omastar to set at least one layer of entry hazards and trigger Weak Armor, allowing it to potentially set two layers. It also allows Omastar to come in later during the game to revenge kill a threat like Lycanroc. A Timid nature makes Omastar faster than Aggron and Modest Aurorus, allowing it to pressure them offensively.

Usage Tips
========

Omastar should either be led with or be brought in early-game to set entry hazards, as this allows it to take advantage of its Focus Sash when entry hazards still haven't been set by the opponent to withstand hits like Eelektross's Giga Drain and Rotom-F's Thunderbolt. Depending on its coverage, it struggles against some Pokemon and Defoggers and spinners; without Ice Beam, Grass- and Dragon-types like Lurantis and Altaria can come in and remove Omastar's entry hazards with Defog, while if lacking Rock Tomb, it can't keep its own entry hazards on the field against Cryogonal and Articuno. This means it should either switch to a partner that can take advantage of them or keep on setting entry hazards. Omastar can be kept for later on in the game to switch into Pokemon like Kangaskhan once. Alolan Sandslash is another example, as it often tries to get rid of Omastar's entry hazards with Rapid Spin. This allows Omastar to take advantage of Weak Armor to set more entry hazards, revenge kill the opponent's Pokemon, or deter Alolan Sandslash from using Rapid Spin in the first place. This is especially true if its Focus Sash was kept intact.

Team Options
========

This set mainly fits on hyper offense teams. Wallbreakers and cleaners like Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy greatly appreciate the entry hazards Omastar sets to wear down their switch-ins like Regirock. Omastar also invites in Fighting-types like Hitmonchan and Primeape for Silvally-Fairy to take advantage of and can pressure Pokemon like Mudsdale and the aforementioned Regirock Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy struggle against. Volt Switch and U-turn users like Eelektross and Silvally-Fairy make for incredible partners, as they appreciate Spikes weakening the opponent's team further. They also give Omastar more opportunities to come in and set entry hazards, while it weakens some of their mutual switch-ins like Cryogonal and Ferroseed. Primeape deters the usage of Defog thanks to Defiant and also appreciates the entry hazards Omastar sets, allowing it to weaken switch-ins like Jellicent and Mudsdale faster. Spinblockers make for good partners, as they can come in on Pokemon like Hitmonchan that force Omastar out to try to get rid of the entry hazards it sets. Oricorio-G is a prime example, as it can also use Taunt against Defoggers like Altaria. It also greatly appreciates Omastar setting entry hazards up, weakening its switch-ins like Lanturn and Regirock, and dealing with spinners it struggles against like Alolan Sandslash. Offensive Cryogonal appreciates Omastar's entry hazards, as they allow it to get past Regirock, Ferroseed, and Eelektross more quickly. In return, it pressures the Grass- and Water-types that threaten Omastar, like Victreebel and Lanturn, and can get rid of the opponent's entry hazards with Rapid Spin, keeping Omastar's Focus Sash intact.

Other Options
=============

A Choice Specs set is a potent option thanks to Omastar's incredibly large movepool, high Special Attack, and Weak Armor, making it very hard to switch into and potentially hard to revenge kill. It can also make use of Omastar's access to Spikes in the last moveslot to eventually overwhelm answers like Jellicent and Ferroseed. Chople Berry allows Omastar to withstand Primeape's Close Combat, Dodrio's Jump Kick, and Hitmonchan's and Gurdurr's Mach Punch, making it considerably harder to revenge kill. However, it does miss out on some firepower when not holding a Z-Crystal and is easier to revenge kill with other Pokemon when not holding a White Herb. If Omastar is holding Groundium Z, Stone Edge is an option over Ice Beam on the Shell Smash set that targets Flying- and Ice-types like Articuno, Swanna, and Cryogonal. However, this leaves Omastar unable to hit Grass-types like Leafeon and a healthy Torterra, and a boosted Hydro Pump has a very solid chance to OHKO Cryogonal after Stealth Rock. A physically defensive set with both Stealth Rock and Spikes is an option, although it suffers from immense competition from other Water- and Rock-types like Qwilfish and Regirock, which are faster and bulkier, respectively. Omastar's poor Special Defense also makes it a pretty mediocre switch-in to Flying-types like Oricorio-G compared to Regirock. Ferroseed is another entry hazard setter Omastar has to compete against, as it also has access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes. Its typing, overall bulk, and ability make it the superior choice on most teams, making this Omastar set very hard to justify. Lastly, Hidden Power Fire is a very niche option over Ice Beam or Rock Tomb on the lead set, allowing Omastar to hit Ferroseed at the cost of struggling more against Dragon-, Grass-, and Ice-types like Altaria, Torterra, and Cryogonal.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Jellicent, Gastrodon, and a healthy Lanturn can shrug off Omastar's moves and easily KO it back in Lanturn's case or 2HKO it in Jellicent's case. Assault Vest Lanturn also outspeeds Modest Omastar pre-setup and OHKOes it with Volt Switch after it has taken some minor chip damage. However, both Jellicent and Lanturn struggle against Tectonic Rage variants, and Gastrodon struggles against Hidden Power Grass ones. Offensive Water-types like offensive Trick Room Jellicent and Floatzel can threaten Omastar pre-setup, with the former even using it as setup fodder because it tanks a boosted Earth Power pretty comfortably.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Articuno, Cryogonal, Toxic Audino, and Crabominable all pose an issue to Omastar if it has already used its Z-Move or lacks Waterium Z. However, if it does have Waterium Z, Omastar doesn't struggle to get past any of them, and Articuno and a slightly chipped Cryogonal both fall to a boosted Hydro Pump after Stealth Rock. Ferroseed, on the other hand, doesn't really struggle against non-Tectonic Rage set and can cripple Omastar with Leech Seed or Toxic. Roselia is another issue, although it's not very common and usually finds itself in range of a boosted Ice Beam.

**Faster Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users like Primeape and Punishment Skuntank can revenge kill Omastar with almost no difficulties, although the latter struggles against White Herb variants and is slower than Timid Omastar. Moreover, they both can't deal with Endure Omastar, as they end up triggering Weak Armor. Choice Scarf Rotom-F doesn't trigger Weak Armor and is largely unaffected by Endure. Pokemon like Victreebel and Simisear that outspeed Omastar before it has used Shell Smash can also effectively deal with it. However, none of these examples can reliably switch into Omastar, and they're all slower than it if Weak Armor got triggered.

**Priority Moves**: Pokemon like Gurdurr, Hitmonchan, and Choice Band Absol can all revenge kill Omastar after it has taken some chip damage with their respective priority moves. However, outside of Hitmonchan, none of them can switch into Omastar. Absol is also reliant on Sucker Punch, meaning Omastar can take advantage of that by using Shell Smash again.

  • Omastar's vast movepool, high Special Attack, and access to Shell Smash makes it a threatening setup sweeper able to muscle through common specially defensive walls like Articuno and Audino and Water resists such as Lanturn and Jellicent depending on its Z-Crystal. no commonly used z move is beating jellicent, plus you only muscle through water resists with 1 different z move type according to the analysis
  • Its decently high defense and typing gives it plenty setup opportunities against threats like Silvally-Fairy and Skuntank. This allows it to take full advantage of its ability, Weak Armor, which allows it to outspeed common revenge killers, such as Choice Scarf Primeape. Omastar's typing also allows it to force out defensive Pokemon like Regirock, giving it more setup opportunities.
  • Moreover, it makes it harder to revenge kill as common revenge killers, such as Choice Scarf Skuntank and Dodrio fail to effectively revenge kill a healthy Omastar. yeah I don't love this point. you're rarely at full, dodrio KOs after the def drop, timid Oma outspeeds scarf skunk anyway... just lots of minor things to be questioned here when the bullet is kinda unnecessary
  • Its access to both Spikes and Stealth Rock makes it a potent lead on more offensive team, which is further enhanced by its ability to threaten most Defog and Rapid Spin users such as Lurantis, Articuno, and Cryogonal depending on what it decides to run.
  • However, Omastar's typing grants it weaknesses to common typings like Fighting, Ground, and Grass, which, when combined with its atrocious special bulk, give it a harder time setting up and make it easy to revenge kill with moves like Mach Punch.

However, this often causes it to be easier to pick off with a priority move like Sucker Punch. Omastar's speed also hinders its job as a lead, as most Defog and Rapid Spin users outspeed it and threaten it. this last bit is definitely contradictory to what you said about how it fares vs common removers above
  • Lastly, Omastar suffers from competition as Carracosta and Ludicolo as sweepers, the former carrying Aqua Jet and having a better bulk, making it harder to revenge kill, while the latter's superior Speed, typing, and special bulk make it harder to revenge kill. As a lead, Lycanroc's considerably faster and is more threatening thanks to Swords Dance. lead lycan with sd? that's absolutely not what gives it a niche over Oma anyway, you've got the speed and taunt and endeavor

  • Waterium Z, when used alongside Hydro Pump, allows Omastar to use Hydro Vortex, allowing it to get past defensive behemoths like Articuno, Audino, and Assault Vest Crabominable. I feel like it'd be better to fit waterium into the first bullet or something instead of just stating "beats these same things again"
  • White Herb resets Omastar's Defense and Special Defense or after a Weak Armor boost, making it harder to revenge kill.
you forgot the groundium mention here

Usage Tips
========
  • Omastar can be brought in early- to mid-game via U-turn or Volt Switch on Pokemon like Mudsdale to punch holes in the opposing team thanks to its impressive firepower without having to setup, making it easier for it to clean late-game. eeh it's not really the kind of thing that breaks for itself in plenty of matchups. I think the better point is that it's often well used as a mid-game wallbreaker to chunk and lure things like lanturn and av crab rather than only fulfilling the late-game sweeper role
  • If not running Endure, it should only setup when faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Primeape and Dodrio have been K.Oed. However, if running Endure, it should wait until its switchins like Lanturn and Jellicent are in range of its attacks due its lacklustre coverage, and depending of its item. this also leads into the above thing, you may not be able to get around the whole scarf ape issue and that leads Oma to do more of a breaker thing than a sweeper thing. it's easier to break defensive mons for a teammate than try to remove scarf ape early
  • Omastar should aim to setup against Pokemon it forces out like Skuntank, against Choice-locked threats like Stoutland, Primeape, and Dodrio, and against Pokemon it forces out like Regirock and Mudsdale.
  • It should use its Z-move when against bulky titans like Clefairy, Cryogonal, and Toxic Audino. Against the latter, however, it has to be cautious of it using Protect. not sure what new info this gives anyone, it's already clear that your offensive z moves are for breaking things
  • Omastar's respectable physical bulk allows it to switch into weaker, resisted physical attacks, like Skuntank's Poison Jab and Alolan Sandslash's Icicle Crash to take advantage of Weak Armor, although doing so too often leaves Omastar in range of priority moves like Choice Band Absol's Sucker Punch and Gurdurr's Mach Punch

  • If not running Endure, Omastar appreciates Pokemon able to deal with revenge killers like Choice Scarf Primeape and Dodrio. Skuntank is a good option, as it can effectively K.O them with Sucker Punch and Aftermath. It can also Pursuit trap the aforementioned Jellicent and Cryogonal. In exchange, Omastar deals with Regirock and Mudsdale. Pokemon that abuse a choice locked scarfer that's just revenged Oma are also decent ideas. something like oma+sub haunter can be pretty devastating
  • Omastar greatly appreciates Spikes, as they put Pokemon like Lanturn and Roselia in range of moves like Earth Power and Ice Beam after it has used Shell Smash. They also chip on its offensive answers, like Kangaskhan and Choice Scarf Skuntank. Ferroseed is a solid partner, chipping Omastar's answers even further thanks to Iron Barbs, while checking Electric-types like Lanturn.

  • Rock Tomb is an alternative that hits Ice- and Flying-types like Cryogonal, Articuno, and Swanna, which otherwise don't have much difficulty shrugging off Omastar's attacks and get rid of its entry hazards. It's ran over Stone Edge as it always lowers the foe's Speed, allowing Omastar to effectively get past them. it's not clear what "get past them" is meant to mean. "threaten a 2hko" or "set another entry hazard" would be better

Set Details
========
  • A Focus Sash is used to allow Omastar to set at least one entry hazards and triggering Weak Armor, allowing it to potentially set two. It also allows it to come in later during the game to revenge kill a threat like Lycanroc.
  • A Timid nature makes Omastar faster than Aggron and Modest Aurorus, while a Modest nature gives it more firepower. is there any reason for this firepower? any reason that outweighs the speed? I really don't see it

Usage Tips
========
  • Omastar should be brought in early-game or just led off with to set entry hazards, as it allows it to take advantage of its Focus Sash when entry hazards still haven't been set by the opponent to withstand hits like Eelektross's Giga Drain and Cryogonal's Freeze-Dry.
  • Depending on its coverage, it struggles against some Pokemon and Defog and Rapid Spin users; without Ice Beam, Grass- and Dragon-types like Lurantis and Altaria can come in and Defog Omastar's entry hazards, while if lacking Rock Tomb, it can't keep its own entry hazards on the field against Cryogonal and Articuno. This means it should either switch into a partner that can take advantage of them, like Defiant Primeape for example or keep on setting entry hazards.
  • Depending on the opponent's team, Omastar should prioritize setting a certain entry hazards first. Against teams with no weaknesses to Stealth Rock and a Ground-, Fighting-, or Steel-type, it should set a layer of Spikes before trying to set Stealth Rock. Against a team with weaknesses to Stealth Rock, Omastar should prioritize setting Stealth Rock first. yeah I don't like this point, comes off as a very simple list
  • Omastar can be kept for later on in the game to switch into Pokemon like Kangaskhan, which is usually a big issue for the type of team in which this Omastar set is used would not make this generalization. also why is this a long-term kanga switch, especially since it gets chipped p bad to get any hazard up. Alolan Sandslash is another example, as it often tries to get rid of Omastar's entry hazards with Rapid Spin. This allows it to take advantage of Weak Armor to set more entry hazards or revenge kill the opponent's Pokemon. This is especially true if Omastar's Focus Sash was kept intact. this alolaslash point I like but it's kind of hard to understand the way it's written

Team Options
========
  • Wallbreakers and cleaners that fit on more offensive teams, like Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy greatly appreciate the entry hazards Omastar sets to get past their switchins, like Regirock. Omastar also invites in Fighting-types like Hitmonchan for Silvally-Fairy to take advantage of, and can pressure Pokemon like Mudsdale and the aforementioned Regirock Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy struggle against.
  • Primeape is an amazing partner, deterring the usage of Defog thanks to Defiant. It also appreciates the entry hazards Omastar sets, allowing it to weaken switchins like Jellicent and Mudsdale faster.
  • Volt Switch and U-turn users like Eelektross and the aforementioned Silvally-Fairy make for incredible partners, as they appreciate Spikes weakening the opponent's team further. They also give Omastar more opportunities to come in and set entry hazards, while it weakens some of their mutual switchins like Cryogonal and Ferroseed.
  • Spinblockers make for good partners, as they can come in on Pokemon like Hitmonchan and Alolan Sandslash who try to get rid of the entry hazards Omastar sets. Oricorio-G is a prime example, as it can also use Taunt against Defog users like Altaria. It also greatly appreciates Omastar setting entry hazards up, weaking Oricorio-G's switchins like Lanturn and Regirock.
some point about this being mainly for HO teams wouldn't be amiss

Other Options
=============
  • Choice Specs is a potent option thanks to Omastar's incredibly large movepool, high Special Attack, and Weak Armor, making it very hard to switch into and potentially hard to revenge kill. It can also make use of its access to Spikes in the last slot, to eventually overwhelm answers like Jellicent and Ferroseed.
  • Pinch berries are an option if running Endure on the Shell Smash set, allowing Omastar to withstand priority moves like Skuntank's Sucker Punch and giving it more defensive utility early- to mid-game.
  • Icium Z is an option on the Shell Smash, allowing Omastar to get past Roselia and Ferroseed easier. However, the latter lacks recovery and is also hit by Tectonic Rage, which also hits Jellicent and Lanturn. Hydro Vortex, on the other hand, targets Pokemon like Clefairy and Articuno, making Subzero Slammer hard to justify using.
  • If holding a Groundium Z, Stone Edge is an option over Ice Beam on the Shell Smash set as it targets Flying- and Ice-types like Articuno, Swanna, Altaria, and Cryogonal. However, doing so leaves Omastar unable to hit Grass-types like Leafeon and a healthy Torterra, while Ice Beam already hits Altaria and Swanna, while a boosted Hydro Pump has a very solid chance to OHKO Cryogonal after Stealth Rock.
  • A physically defensive set with both Stealth Rock and Spikes is an option, although it suffers from immense competition from other Water- and Rock-types like Qwilfish and Regirock, which are faster and bulkier respectively. Omastar's poor Special Defense also makes it a pretty mediocre switchin to Flying-types like Oricorio-G. Ferroseed is another entry hazards setter Omastar has to compete against, as it also has access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes. Its typing, overall bulk, and ability make it the superior choice on most teams, making this Omastar set very hard to justify.
hp fire ig? for literally 1 thing but still it's a good lure

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Jellicent, Pyukumuku, and a healthy Lanturn can shrug off Omastar's moves and easily K.O it back in Lanturn's case, or 2HKO it in Jellicent's case. Assault Vest Lanturn also outspeeds Modest Omastar pre-setup and OHKOes it with Volt Switch after it has taken some minor chip. However, both Jellicent and Lanturn struggle against Z-Earth Power variants. Offensive Water-types like Offensive Trick Room Jellicent and Floatzel can threaten Omastar pre-setup, with the former even using it as setup fodder as it tanks a boosted Earth Power pretty comfortably.

**Specially defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Articuno, Cryogonal, Toxic Audino, and Crabominable all pose an issue to Omastar if it has already used its Z-Move or lacks a Waterium Z. However, if it does have a Waterium Z, Omastar doesn't struggle to get past any of them. Roselia is another issue, although it's not very common and usually finds itself in range of a boosted Ice Beam. seed needs a specific mention

**Faster Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users like Primeape and Punishment Skuntank can revenge kill Omastar with almost no difficulties, although the latter struggles against White Herb variants. Moreover, they both can't deal with Endure Omastar, as they end up triggering Weak Armor. Choice Scarf Rotom-F doesn't trigger Weak Armor and is largely unaffected by Endure. Pokemon like Victreebel and Lycanroc that outspeed Omastar before it has used Shell Smash can also effectively deal with it.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Omastar's vast movepool, high Special Attack, and access to Shell Smash makes it a threatening setup sweeper able to muscle through common specially defensive walls like Articuno mention cryo instead, its more common and Audino and Water resists such as Lanturn and Jellicent depending on its Z-Crystal.
  • Its decently high defense and typing gives it plenty setup opportunities against threats like Silvally-Fairy and Skuntank and slash. This allows it to take full advantage of its ability, Weak Armor, which allows it to outspeed common revenge killers, such as Choice Scarf Primeape. Omastar's typing also allows it to force out defensive Pokemon like Regirock, giving it more setup opportunities.
  • Due to its poor Speed, it remains slower than Choice Scarf users like Primeape and Rotom-F even after a Shell Smash, meaning it often can be reliant on triggering Weak Armor. However, this often causes it to be easier to pick off with a priority move like Sucker Punch. Omastar's speed also hinders its job as a lead, as most Defog and Rapid Spin users outspeed it and threaten it if it isn't running the right coverage.
  • Lastly, Omastar suffers from competition as Carracosta and Ludicolo as sweepers, the former carrying Aqua Jet and having a better bulk, making it harder to revenge kill, while the latter's superior Speed, typing, and special bulk make it harder to revenge kill just say ludi has better speed and coverage. As a lead, Lycanroc's considerably faster and has access to Taunt and Endeavor. say smth abt how lead faces competition from regi and qwil which can provide much better defensive utility

Moves
========

  • Ice Beam hits Grass- and Dragon-types like Leafeon, Torterra, and Drampa and is its best option to hit Ludicolo and Ferroseed epower hits ferro just as hard and ur doing zero to ludi even at +2
  • Earth Power hits Lanturn and Steel-types like Alolan Sandslash for super effective damage, while Hidden Power Grass is a weaker option that misses out OHKOing Pivot bulky Lanturn after Stealth Rock to pressure Jellicent and gastro more effectively.
  • Endure's an option as it allows Omastar to survive a hit from faster Choice Scarf users that trigger Weak Armor, like Primeape and Dodrio.

Set Details
========
  • A Modest nature allows Omastar to always OHKO specially defensive Articuno and Assault Vest Crabominable when holding a Waterium Z and using it alongside Hydro Pump after using Shell Smash. A Modest nature also allows it to 2HKO Lanturn which set? with Hidden Power Grass.
  • However, a Timid nature sacrifices some of Omastar's power in exchange for some Speed which makes it faster than Choice Scarf Kabutops lol and Skuntank after a Shell Smash.
  • Groundium Z allows Omastar to get past Water-types like Jellicent and Lanturn after a Shell Smash, and is its best option against Ferroseed. However, it does leave Omastar unable to get past Pokemon like Articuno.
  • White Herb resets Omastar's Defense and Special Defense or after a Weak Armor boost, making it harder to revenge kill.

Usage Tips
========
  • Omastar can be brought in early- to mid-game via U-turn or Volt Switch on Pokemon like Skuntank and Regirock to punch holes in the opposing team or setup, making it easier for a teammate to clean late-game when its switchins, like Lanturn, are weakened.
  • If not running Endure, it should aim to setup when faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Primeape and Dodrio have been K.Oed if it's needed to clean. However, if running Endure, it should wait until its switchins like Lanturn and Jellicent are in range of its attacks due its lacklustre lack of appropriate coverage, and depending of its item.
  • Omastar should aim to setup against Pokemon it forces out like Skuntank, against Choice-locked threats like Stoutland, Primeape, and Dodrio, and against Pokemon it forces out like Regirock and Mudsdale.

Team Options
========
  • Wallbreakers like Stoutland, Absol, and Victreebel pressure common answers to Omastar like Pyukumuku this is one of those mons that never need to be mentioned, Gastrodon, Ferroseed, and Lanturn, with the former two able to Pursuit trap them. Musharna also works, as it can force Pokemon out with Future Sight and support it with Healing Wish, giving Omastar more setup opportunities. Wallbreakers are especially important if Omastar is running Endure, as it struggles to break through Lanturn and Jellicent. In return, Omastar deals with physically bulky Pokemon like Regirock and Tangela :psynervous: that answer Stoutland and Absol, while Victreebel invites in Flying-types like Dodrio and ori-g for Omastar to take advantage of.
Substitute Haunter takes advantage of them if they're locked into a Fighting-type move, and can make them wary about clicking it.
Ferroseed is a solid partner, chipping Omastar's answers even further thanks to Iron Barbs, while checking Electric-types like Lanturn no it doesn't??.
  • U-turn and Volt Switch users like Scyther and Eelektross make for very good partners, bringing Omastar in against defensive behemoths like Regirock and non-Toxic Audino they struggle against, giving Omastar more setup opportunities. Parting Shot and Memento support from the likes of Alolan Persian, Silvally-Fairy, and Choice Scarf Skuntank is also appreciated, giving Omastar an easier time setting up. uhh, give a disclaimer about oma and persian really competing for the z-move slot
  • Other cleaners like Combusken and Calm Mind Oricorio-E with similar answers like Jellicent and Articuno can help overpower them, giving Omastar a considerably easier time cleaning, vice versa. Combusken also pressures bulky Ice-types that threaten non-Waterium Z Omastar, like Crabominable, while Oricorio-E can pivot into Fighting-types like Hitmonchan and grasses like vic that can take it out pre-boost. In return, Omastar takes advantage of some Fairy- and Rock-types like Carbink and Regirock that switch into Combusken and Oricorio-E

Moves
========
  • Ice Beam threatens Grass- and Dragon-types like Lurantis and Altaria, which is especially important as it allows Omastar to threaten them and keep its entry hazards on the field. this is good but written a bit weirdly. ice beam targets grasses and dragons in general, and these two in particular it deters from using defog
  • Rock Tomb is an alternative that hits Ice- and Flying-types like Cryogonal, Articuno, and Swanna, which otherwise don't have much difficulty shrugging off Omastar's attacks and get rid of its entry hazards. It's ran over Stone Edge as it always lowers the foe's Speed, allowing Omastar to effectively 2HKO them, force them out, or set another layer of entry hazards.

Set Details
========
  • A Focus Sash is used to allow Omastar to set at least one entry hazards and triggering Weak Armor, allowing it to potentially set two. It also allows it to come in later during the game to revenge kill a threat like Lycanroc.
  • A Timid nature makes Omastar faster than Aggron and Modest Aurorus, allowing it to pressure them offensively.

Usage Tips
========
  • Omastar should either be led with or be brought in early-game to set entry hazards, as it allows it to take advantage of its Focus Sash when entry hazards still haven't been set by the opponent to withstand hits like Eelektross's Giga Drain and Cryogonal's Freeze-Dry any example over this please, cryo spins on u when ur left with 1hp.
  • Omastar can be kept for later on in the game to switch into Pokemon like Kangaskhan once. Alolan Sandslash is another example, as it often tries to get rid of Omastar's entry hazards with Rapid Spin. This allows Omastar to take advantage of Weak Armor to set more entry hazards or revenge kill the opponent's Pokemon it's important to mention that bc of weak armor u actually deter slash from trying to spin. This is especially true if its Focus Sash was kept intact.

Team Options
========
  • This set mainly fits on Heavy hyper Offense teams, meaning wallbreakers and cleaners that fit on them, like Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy greatly appreciate the entry hazards Omastar sets to get past wear down their switchins, like Regirock.
It also appreciates the entry hazards Omastar sets, allowing it to weaken switchins like Jellicent and Mudsdale faster. combine with next bullet
  • Spinblockers make for good partners, as they can come in on Pokemon like Hitmonchan and Alolan Sandslash who try to get rid of the entry hazards Omastar sets. our ghosts are really terrible at spinblocking lol. spiritomb is like the only one that doesnt clickx vs cryo Oricorio-G is a prime example, as it can also use Taunt against Defog users like Altaria. It also greatly appreciates Omastar setting entry hazards up, weaking Oricorio-G's switchins like Lanturn and Regirock. sensu is an awful spinblocker, otherwise it's okay-ish as a partner ig but pompom is better at dealing with gurdurr
  • cryo - prevents lanturn/jelli/ludi/qwil etc from nullifying u, spins stuff, pressures grasses

Other Options
=============
  • chople berry is really nice, comes in handily at situations where chan/gurdurr would otherwise end ur sweep with mach punch
  • Pinch berries just say wiki berry are an option if running Endure on the Shell Smash set, allowing Omastar to withstand priority moves like Skuntank's Sucker Punch well, sucker punch doesn't hit when u press endure and giving it more defensive utility early- to mid-game.
  • Icium Z is an option on the Shell Smash, allowing Omastar to get past Roselia and Ferroseed easier. However, the latter lacks recovery and is also hit by Tectonic Rage, which also hits Jellicent and Lanturn. Hydro Vortex, on the other hand, targets Pokemon like Clefairy and Articuno, making Subzero Slammer hard to justify using. no reason to run this ever. ferro gets hit just as hard by groundium and rose is irrelevant
  • If holding a Groundium Z, Stone Edge is an option over Ice Beam on the Shell Smash set as it targets Flying- and Ice-types like Articuno, Swanna, Altaria, and Cryogonal. However, doing so leaves Omastar unable to hit Grass-types like Leafeon and a healthy Torterra, while Ice Beam already hits Altaria and Swanna, while a boosted Hydro Pump has a very solid chance to OHKO Cryogonal after Stealth Rock. just say that it lets it threaten cryo and cuno more immediately but leaves it unable to touch tort/leafeon
  • A physically defensive set with both Stealth Rock and Spikes is an option, although it suffers from immense competition from other Water- and Rock-types like Qwilfish and Regirock, which are faster and bulkier respectively. Omastar's poor Special Defense also makes it a pretty mediocre switchin to Flying-types like Oricorio-G compared to regi. Ferroseed is another entry hazards setter Omastar has to compete against, as it also has access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes. Its typing, overall bulk, and ability make it the superior choice on most teams, making this Omastar set very hard to justify.
  • Hidden Power Fire is a very niche option over Ice Beam, allowing Omastar to hit Ferroseed at the cost of struggling more against Dragon-types like Altaria and bulkier Grass-types, like Torterra. i'd relegate this to hazard sets only, smash doesn't really struggle much vs ferro esp if running groundium

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Jellicent, Pyukumuku gastro, and a healthy Lanturn can shrug off Omastar's moves and easily K.O it back in Lanturn's case, or 2HKO it in Jellicent's case.

**Ferroseed**: Ferroseed's typing and great bulk mean it isn't threatened by most of Omastar's coverage option outside of the extremely uncommon Hidden Power Fire and a well-timed Z-Move. However, Ferroseed's lack of recovery outside of Leech Seed means Omastar can overwhelm it after setting up if the latter is weakened.

**Faster Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users like Primeape and Punishment Skuntank can revenge kill Omastar with almost no difficulties it can be quite difficult for skunk really, although the latter struggles against White Herb variants the latter also doesn't outspeed +2 timid. Moreover, they both can't deal with Endure Omastar, as they end up triggering Weak Armor. Choice Scarf Rotom-F doesn't trigger Weak Armor and is largely unaffected by Endure. Pokemon like Victreebel and Lycanroc doesnt even ohko with lycanium. replace with simisear that outspeed Omastar before it has used Shell Smash can also effectively deal with it. However, none of these examples can reliably switch into Omastar, and they're all slower than it if Weak Armor got triggered.

Ice Beam threatens Grass- and Dragon-types like Leafeon and Drampa. It also pressures Lurantis and Altaria, which are important targets as they can otherwise get rid of Omastar's entry hazards with Defog freely. Rock Tomb is an alternative that hits Ice- and Flying-types like Cryogonal, Articuno, and Swanna, which otherwise don't have much difficulty shrugging off Omastar's attacks and get rid of its entry hazards. It's ran over Stone Edge as it always lowers the foe's Speed, allowing Omastar to effectively 2HKO them, force them out, or set another layer of entry hazards. i'd be more specific here and comment on its application w.r.t Cryogonal since it can just kill with spin if running Edge to keep off which rock tomb prevents.

Set Details

A Focus Sash is used to allow Omastar to set at least one entry hazards and triggering Weak Armor, allowing it to potentially set two. It also allows it to come in later during the game to revenge kill a threat like Lycanroc. A Timid nature makes Omastar faster than Aggron and Modest Aurorus, allowing it to pressure them offensively.

Usage Tips
========

Omastar should either be led with or be brought in early-game to set entry hazards, as it allows it to take advantage of its Focus Sash when entry hazards still haven't been set by the opponent to withstand hits like Eelektross's Giga Drain and Rotom-F's Thunderbolt. Depending on its coverage, it struggles against some Pokemon and Defog and Rapid Spin users; without Ice Beam, Grass- and Dragon-types like Lurantis and Altaria can come in and Defog Omastar's entry hazards, while if lacking Rock Tomb, it can't keep its own entry hazards on the field against Cryogonal and Articuno. Give a mention to how it struggles with Hitmonchan either way and then put a mention of spinblockers in the next sentence. This means it should either switch into a partner that can take advantage of them, like Defiant Primeape for example or keep on setting entry hazards.

This set mainly fits on Hyper Offense teams, meaning wallbreakers and cleaners that fit on them, like Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy greatly appreciate the entry hazards Omastar sets to wear down their switchins, like Regirock. Omastar also invites in Fighting-types like Hitmonchan for Silvally-Fairy to take advantage of, and can pressure Pokemon like Mudsdale and the aforementioned Regirock Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy struggle against. Volt Switch and U-turn users like Eelektross and the aforementioned Silvally-Fairy make for incredible partners, as they appreciate Spikes weakening the opponent's team further. Oricorio-G is a prime example, as it can also use Taunt against Defog users like Altaria. It also greatly appreciates Omastar setting entry hazards up, weaking Oricorio-G's switchins like Lanturn and Regirock and dealing with Rapid Spin users it struggles against, like Alolan Sandslash. Offensive Cryogonal really appreciates Omastar's entry hazards as they allow it to get past Regirock, Ferroseed, and Eelektross much easier. It also pressures the Grass- and Water-types that threaten Omastar, like Victreebel and Lanturn and can get rid of the opponent's entry hazards with Rapid Spin, keeping Omastar's Focus Sash intact.

Other Options
=============

Choice Specs is a potent option thanks to Omastar's incredibly large movepool, high Special Attack, and Weak Armor, making it very hard to switch into and potentially hard to revenge kill. It can also make use of its access to Spikes in the last slot, to eventually overwhelm answers like Jellicent and Ferroseed. Chople Berry allows Omastar to withstand Primeape's Close Combat, Dodrio's Jump Kick, and Hitmonchan and Gurdurr's Mach Punch, making it considerably harder to revenge kill. However, it does miss out on some firepower when not holding a Z-Crystal, and is rendered easier to revenge kill by other Pokemon when not holding a White Herb. If holding a Groundium Z, Stone Edge is an option over Ice Beam on the Shell Smash set as it targets Flying- and Ice-types like Articuno, Swanna, and Cryogonal. However, doing so leaves Omastar unable to hit Grass-types like Leafeon and a healthy Torterra, while a boosted Hydro Pump has a very solid chance to OHKO Cryogonal after Stealth Rock. A physically defensive set with both Stealth Rock and Spikes is an option, assuming this is running the same stuff as the lead set is, id just reword it to say that "a physically defensive spread can be run on the lead set on x teams..." to reflect that only the spread is changing although it suffers from immense competition from other Water- and Rock-types like Qwilfish and Regirock, which are faster and bulkier respectively. Omastar's poor Special Defense also makes it a pretty mediocre switchin to Flying-types like Oricorio-G compared to the aforementioned Regirock. Ferroseed is another entry hazards setter Omastar has to compete against, as it also has access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes. Its typing, overall bulk, and ability make it the superior choice on most teams, making this Omastar set very hard to justify.

===================

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Jellicent, Gastrodon, and a healthy Lanturn can shrug off Omastar's moves and easily K.O it back in Lanturn's case, or 2HKO it in Jellicent's case. Assault Vest Lanturn also outspeeds Modest Omastar pre-setup and OHKOes it with Volt Switch after it has taken some minor chip. However, both Jellicent and Lanturn struggle against Z-Earth Power variants, and Gastrodon against Hidden Power Grass ones.

Also mention how Articuno/Cryogonal can be broken through without waterium z if rocks are up.

**Ferroseed**: Ferroseed's typing and great bulk mean it isn't threatened by most of Omastar's coverage option outside of the extremely uncommon Hidden Power Fire and a well-timed Z-Move. However, Ferroseed's lack of recovery outside of Leech Seed means Omastar can overwhelm it after setting up if the latter is weakened. i don't really think this deserves its own section particularly, like as you say it falls to a +2 z-ep, while its reliance on leech seed + protect means it can still be broken through with well played shell smashes, and needs it to be at near full to actually properly check it reliably. Just give this a specific mention in specially defensive section instead of giving it its own bullet imo.

[OVERVIEW]

Omastar's vast movepool, high Special Attack, and access to Shell Smash makes make it a threatening setup sweeper able to muscle through common specially defensive special walls like Cryogonal and Audino and Water resists Water-type checks such as Lanturn and Jellicent depending on its Z-Crystal. Its decently high defense Defense and typing give it plenty of setup opportunities against threats like Silvally-Fairy, Alolan Sandslash, and Skuntank. This allows it to take full advantage of its ability (RC) Weak Armor, which allows it to outspeed common revenge killers (RC) such as Choice Scarf Primeape. Omastar's typing also allows it to force out defensive Pokemon like Regirock, giving it more setup opportunities. Moreover, its access to both Spikes and Stealth Rock makes it a potent lead on more offensive team teams, which is further enhanced by its ability to threaten most Defog Defoggers and Rapid Spin users spinners such as Lurantis, Articuno, and Cryogonal depending on what it decides to run. However, Omastar's typing grants it weaknesses to common typings like Fighting, Ground, and Grass, which, when combined with its atrocious special bulk, give it a harder time setting up and make it easy to revenge kill with moves like Mach Punch. Due to its poor Speed, it remains slower than Choice Scarf users like Primeape even after a Shell Smash, meaning it often can be reliant on triggering Weak Armor. However, this often causes it to be easier to pick off with a priority move like Sucker Punch. Omastar's speed Speed also hinders its job as a lead, as most Defog Defoggers and Rapid Spin users spinners outspeed it and threaten it if it isn't running the right coverage. Lastly, Omastar suffers from competition as with Carracosta and Ludicolo as sweepers, the former carrying Aqua Jet and having a better bulk, making it harder to revenge kill, while and the latter has having a superior Speed tier, typing, and movepool. As a lead, Lycanroc's considerably faster and has access to Taunt and Endeavor, while Qwilfish's also faster and has a superior typing along with Intimidate.

Ice Beam hits Grass- and Dragon-types like Leafeon, Torterra, and Drampa and is its Omastar's best option to hit Ludicolo. Earth Power hits Lanturn and Steel-types like Alolan Sandslash for super effective damage, while Hidden Power Grass is a weaker option that misses out OHKOing Pivot pivot Lanturn after Stealth Rock to pressure Jellicent and Gastrodon more effectively, OHKOing the latter. Endure's an option,(AC) as it allows Omastar to survive a hit from faster Choice Scarf users that trigger Weak Armor, like Primeape and Dodrio.

Set Details
========

A Modest nature allows Omastar to always OHKO specially defensive Articuno and Assault Vest Crabominable when holding a Waterium Z and using it alongside Hydro Pump with Hydro Vortex after using Shell Smash. A Modest nature also allows it to 2HKO Assault Vest Lanturn with Hidden Power Grass. However, a Timid nature sacrifices some of Omastar's power in exchange for some Speed,(AC) which makes it faster than Choice Scarf Kabutops and Skuntank after a Shell Smash. Groundium Z allows Omastar to get past Water-types like Jellicent and Lanturn after a Shell Smash with Tectonic Rage, and Tectonic Rage is its best option against Ferroseed. However, it does leave this leaves Omastar unable to get past Pokemon like Articuno. White Herb resets Omastar's Defense and Special Defense after using Shell Smash (I think this is what was left out?) or after a Weak Armor boost, making it harder to revenge kill.

Usage Tips
========

Omastar can be brought in early- to mid-game via U-turn or Volt Switch on Pokemon like Skuntank and Regirock to punch holes in the opposing team or set up(spacing), making it easier for a teammate to clean late-game when its switch-ins(AH), like Lanturn, are weakened. If Omastar's not running Endure, it should aim to set up(spacing) when faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Primeape and Dodrio have been K.Oed KOed if it's needed to clean. However, if running Endure, it should wait until its switch-ins(AH) like Lanturn and Jellicent are in range of its attacks due its lack of appropriate coverage depending on its item.(this point confuses me, and I think my change fixes the sentence because it otherwise makes no sense. Endure is replacing the coverage Omastar would have for these Pokemon; its item is irrelevant to whether or not it has appropriate coverage for them. so why mention the item bit at all?) Omastar should aim to set up(spacing) against Pokemon it forces out like Skuntank, against Regirock, and Mudsdale and Choice-locked threats like Stoutland, Primeape, and Dodrio (RC) and against Pokemon it forces out like Regirock and Mudsdale. Omastar's respectable physical bulk allows it to switch into weaker, resisted physical attacks (RC) like Skuntank's Poison Jab and Alolan Sandslash's Icicle Crash to take advantage of Weak Armor, although doing so too often leaves Omastar in range of priority moves like Choice Band Absol's Sucker Punch and Gurdurr's Mach Punch.(AP)

Wallbreakers like Stoutland, Absol, and Victreebel pressure common answers to Omastar like Gastrodon, Ferroseed, and Lanturn, with the former two able to Pursuit trap trapping them and the latter inviting in Flying-types like Dodrio and Oricorio-G for Omastar to take advantage of. Musharna also works, as it can force Pokemon out with Future Sight and support it Omastar with Healing Wish, giving Omastar it more setup opportunities and allowing it to set up(spacing) Shell Smash multiple times to wallbreak itself. Wallbreakers are especially important if Omastar is running Endure, as it struggles to break through Lanturn and Jellicent. In return, Omastar deals with physically bulky Pokemon like Regirock and Tangela that answer Stoutland and Absol (RC) while Victreebel invites in Flying-types like Dodrio and Oricorio-G for Omastar to take advantage of. If not running Endure, Omastar appreciates Pokemon able to deal with revenge killers like Choice Scarf Primeape and Dodrio. Skuntank is a good option, as it can effectively K.O KO them with Sucker Punch and Aftermath. It can also Pursuit trap the aforementioned Jellicent and Cryogonal. In exchange, Omastar deals with Regirock and Mudsdale. Substitute Haunter and Swords Dance Silvally-Fairy take advantage of them if they're locked into a Fighting-type move (RC) and can make them wary about clicking using it. Omastar greatly appreciates Spikes, as they put Pokemon like Lanturn and Roselia in range of moves like Earth Power and Ice Beam after it has used Shell Smash. They also chip on its offensive answers (RC) like Kangaskhan and Choice Scarf Skuntank. Ferroseed is a solid partner, chipping Omastar's answers even further thanks to Iron Barbs. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Silvally-Fairy and Eelektross make for very good partners, bringing Omastar in against defensive behemoths like Regirock and non-Toxic Audino they struggle against, giving Omastar more setup opportunities. Parting Shot and Memento support from the likes of Alolan Persian and Choice Scarf Skuntank is also appreciated, giving Omastar an easier time setting up. However, Alolan Persian and Omastar do compete for the Z-Crystal. Finally, other cleaners like Combusken and Calm Mind Oricorio-E with similar answers like Jellicent and Articuno can help overpower them can wear down shared checks like Jellicent and Articuno with Omastar, giving Omastar one or the other a considerably easier time cleaning (RC) vice versa.

Ice Beam threatens Grass- and Dragon-types like Leafeon and Drampa. It also pressures Lurantis and Altaria, which are important targets as because they can would otherwise freely get rid of Omastar's entry hazards with Defog freely. Rock Tomb is an alternative that hits Ice- and Flying-types like Cryogonal, Articuno, and Swanna, which otherwise don't have much difficulty shrugging off Omastar's attacks and get rid of its entry hazards. It's ran over Stone Edge as because it always lowers the foe's Speed, allowing Omastar to outspeed the aforementioned Pokemon and effectively 2HKO them, force them out, or set another layer of entry hazards.

Set Details
========

A Focus Sash is used to allow Omastar to set at least one layer of entry hazards and triggering trigger Weak Armor, allowing it to potentially set two layers. It also allows it Omastar to come in later during the game to revenge kill a threat like Lycanroc. A Timid nature makes Omastar faster than Aggron and Modest Aurorus, allowing it to pressure them offensively.

Usage Tips
========

Omastar should either be led with or be brought in early-game to set entry hazards, as it this allows it to take advantage of its Focus Sash when entry hazards still haven't been set by the opponent to withstand hits like Eelektross's Giga Drain and Rotom-F's Thunderbolt. Depending on its coverage, it struggles against some Pokemon and Defog and Rapid Spin users Defoggers and spinners; without Ice Beam, Grass- and Dragon-types like Lurantis and Altaria can come in and Defog remove Omastar's entry hazards with Defog, while if lacking Rock Tomb, it can't keep its own entry hazards on the field against Cryogonal and Articuno. This means it should either switch into a partner that can take advantage of them (RC) like Defiant Primeape for example (this is not the team options section) or keep on setting entry hazards.

This set mainly fits on Hyper Offense hyper offense teams.(comma -> period) meaning wallbreakers Wallbreakers and cleaners that fit on them (RC) like Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy greatly appreciate the entry hazards Omastar sets to wear down their switch-ins(AH) (RC) like Regirock. Omastar also invites in Fighting-types like Hitmonchan and Primeape for Silvally-Fairy to take advantage of (RC) and can pressure Pokemon like Mudsdale and the aforementioned Regirock Dodrio and Silvally-Fairy struggle against. Volt Switch and U-turn users like Eelektross and the aforementioned Silvally-Fairy make for incredible partners, as they appreciate Spikes weakening the opponent's team further. They also give Omastar more opportunities to come in and set entry hazards, while it weakens some of their mutual switch-ins(AH) like Cryogonal and Ferroseed. Primeape is an amazing partner, as it also deters the usage of Defog thanks to Defiant. It also appreciates the entry hazards Omastar sets, allowing it to weaken switch-ins(RC) like Jellicent and Mudsdale faster. Spinblockers make for good partners, as they can come in on Pokemon like Hitmonchan that force Omastar out to try to get rid of the entry hazards it sets. Oricorio-G is a prime example, as it can also use Taunt against Defog users Defoggers like Altaria. It also greatly appreciates Omastar setting entry hazards up, weaking Oricorio-G's switchins weakening its switch-ins like Lanturn and Regirock,(AC) and dealing with Rapid Spin users spinners it struggles against (RC) like Alolan Sandslash. Offensive Cryogonal really appreciates Omastar's entry hazards,(AC) as they allow it to get past Regirock, Ferroseed, and Eelektross much easier more quickly. Other Options
=============

A Choice Specs set is a potent option thanks to Omastar's incredibly large movepool, high Special Attack, and Weak Armor, making it very hard to switch into and potentially hard to revenge kill. It can also make use of its Omastar's access to Spikes in the last moveslot (RC) to eventually overwhelm answers like Jellicent and Ferroseed. Chople Berry allows Omastar to withstand Primeape's Close Combat, Dodrio's Jump Kick, and Hitmonchan Hitmonchan's and Gurdurr's Mach Punch, making it considerably harder to revenge kill. However, it does miss out on some firepower when not holding a Z-Crystal (RC) and is rendered easier to revenge kill by with other Pokemon when not holding a White Herb. If holding a Groundium Z, Stone Edge is an option over Ice Beam on the Shell Smash set as it that targets Flying- and Ice-types like Articuno, Swanna, and Cryogonal. However, doing so this leaves Omastar unable to hit Grass-types like Leafeon and a healthy Torterra, while and a boosted Hydro Pump has a very solid chance to OHKO Cryogonal after Stealth Rock. A physically defensive set with both Stealth Rock and Spikes is an option, although it suffers from immense competition from other Water- and Rock-types like Qwilfish and Regirock, which are faster and bulkier,(AC) respectively. Omastar's poor Special Defense also makes it a pretty mediocre switch-in(AH) to Flying-types like Oricorio-G compared to the aforementioned Regirock. Ferroseed is another entry hazards hazard setter Omastar has to compete against, as it also has access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes.

===================

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Jellicent, Gastrodon, and a healthy Lanturn can shrug off Omastar's moves and easily K.O KO it back in Lanturn's case (RC) or 2HKO it in Jellicent's case. Assault Vest Lanturn also outspeeds Modest Omastar pre-setup and OHKOes it with Volt Switch after it has taken some minor chip. However, both Jellicent and Lanturn struggle against Z-Earth Power Tectonic Rage variants, and Gastrodon struggles against Hidden Power Grass ones. Offensive Water-types like Offensive offensive Trick Room Jellicent and Floatzel can threaten Omastar pre-setup, with the former even using it as setup fodder as because it tanks a boosted Earth Power pretty comfortably.

**Specially defensive Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Articuno, Cryogonal, Toxic Audino, and Crabominable all pose an issue to Omastar if it has already used its Z-Move or lacks a Waterium Z. However, if it does have a Waterium Z, Omastar doesn't struggle to get past any of them, and Articuno and a slightly chipped Cryogonal both fall to a boosted Hydro Pump after Stealth Rock. Ferroseed, on the other hand, doesn't really struggle against non Z-Earth Power non-Tectonic Rage set and can cripple Omastar with Leech Seed or Toxic.

===================
