Meganium [Optimized]
Abilities:
Overgrow | Thick Fat [HA]
Stats: 90 HP/65 Atk/80 Def/85 SpA/120 SpD/85 Spd (BST: 525)
Added Moves: Moonblast, Calm Mind, Sludge Bomb, Psychic
Summary of Changes: +10 HP, -17 Atk, -20 Def, +2 SpA, +15 SpD, +5 Spd
Justification: this pokemon got so shafted lmao As a mono-Grass type with an extremely mediocre stat distribution, it's no wonder why no one's favorite starter was Meganium. Here, its stats are more focused on it's Special Defense, which, with the help of Thick Fat and its new Fairy typing, will help it tank hits much better. Moonblast compliments its new typing, and Calm Mind provides even more durability and a great set-up move especially with its new stats. Sludge Bomb is here for move type coverage, so is Psychic.

Typhlosion [Optimized]
Abilities:
Blaze | Conflagrant [HA] (All Normal-type moves become Fire-type and gain a 20% boost in power, Aerilate variant.)
Stats: 80 HP/95 Atk/70 Def/110 SpA/70 SpD/100 Spd (BST: 525)
Added Moves: Hyper Voice, Rapid Spin
Summary of Changes: +2 HP, +11 Atk, +1 SpA -8 Def, -15 SpD
Justification: I feel like a Pokemon doesn't need a secondary typing to be optimized, so I gave him Aerilate but for Fire. His new offensive stats will allow him to do a lot of damage, both physical and special. A Return from Typhlosion will still do some good damage even if it's from his lower offensive stat. Its SpA is basically unchanged. Hyper Voice is to complimate Conflagrant, and Rapid Spin is just kinda there because why not. Overall, with these changes Typhlosion becomes a good mixed attacker able to do a lot of Fire-type damage with moves like Return.

Feraligatr [Optimized]
Abilities:
Torrent | Sheer Force [HA]
Stats: 90 HP/120 Atk/100 Def/80 SpA/60 SpD/75 Spd (BST: 525)
Added Moves: Iron Head, Thunder Punch, Zen Headbutt
Summary of Changes: +5 HP, +15 Atk, +1 SpA, -10 SpD, -23 SpD, -3 Spd
Justification: Feraligatr's Sheer Force is already perfect for him, however its new stats allow him to be an amazing physical wallbreaker. With Sheer Force and a base Atk of 120, he'll be able to shred walls while also tanking physical attacks well with a base Def of 100. His SpD and Spd balance him out, however, where fast special attacks can take care of him, especially if they have a strong Fairy-type move. The new moves are mostly for coverage, specifically Iron Head which allows him to hit Fairy-types, but in order to actually connect it Feraligatr must hit the Fairy-type when it's coming in, otherwise it'll probably outspeed and take him down easily.

Meganium [Optimized]
Abilities: Overgrow / Poison Heal
Stats: 75/60/125/60/125/80 (525 BST)
Added Moves: Dragon Claw, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse
Summary of Changes: -5 HP / -12 Atk / +25 Def / -13 SpA / +25 SpD
Description: Meganium is a formidable Poison Heal stallmon, spamming Toxic, Leech Seed, Giga Drain, and Dragon Tail. It sports a decent typing in Grass/Dragon while having incredible mixed defenses. However, Meganium is still quite passive, having low offensive presence and being vulnerable to hard-hitting attacks.

Typhlosion[Optimized]
Abilities: Blaze / Chlorophyll
Stats: 75/60/75/129/80/115 (534 BST)
Added Moves: Dazzling Gleam, Play Rough, Moonblast, Morning Sun, Calm Mind, Weather Ball
Summary of Changes: -5 HP / -24 Atk / -3 Def / +20 SpA / -5 SpD / +15 Spe
Description: Typhlosion's main flaw was that it had only one offensive typing a lack of good coverage, and lacking Special Attack and Speed. With double STAB that complement each other greatly, optimized Typhlosion is now a fearsome sweeper in sun, sporting a Speed tier that outspeeds basically everything thanks to Chlorophyll, and a much better Special Attack.

Feraligatr [Optimized]
Abilities: Torrent / Sheer Force
Stats: 80/120/80/59/83/108 (530 BST)
Added Moves: Iron Head, Iron Tail, Flash Cannon
Summary of Changes: -5 HP / +15 Atk / -20 Def / -20 SpA / +30 Spe
Description: Feraligatr's main problem was that it was too slow, being outsped even at +1 to common Choice Scarf users. Now, with much better Speed, it can cement itself as a strong Sheer Force set-up sweeper, thanks to its Steel-typing mitigating its loss in Defense. It has a difficult time against Water-types, however.

Typhlosion[Optimized]
Abilities: Blaze / Chlorophyll
Stats: 75/60/75/129/80/115 (534 BST)
Added Moves: Dazzling Gleam, Play Rough, Moonblast, Morning Sun, Calm Mind, Weather Ball
Summary of Changes: -5 HP / -24 Atk / -3 Def / +20 SpA / -5 SpD / +15 Spe
Description: Typhlosion's main flaw was that it had only one offensive typing a lack of good coverage, and lacking Special Attack and Speed. The definition of fairy: "a mythical being of folklore and romance usually having diminutive human form and magic Powers"
Typhlosion isn't humanoid,it isn't magical, and it isn't mythical, and you can't even say "it's fairy because it looks cute/pink" The fairy Typing makes no sense flavour wise

I’m pretty sure humanoid isn’t a baseline for being Fairy (Typhlosion looks more human than say, Tapu Bulu) and hey spitting fire is pretty damn magical if you ask me

Meganium [Optimized]
Abilities: Overgrow / Thick Fat
Stats: 100/82/110/83/120/60 (555)
Added Moves: Wish, Slack Off, Dazzling Gleam
Summary of Changes: +20 HP, +10 Def, +20 SpD, -20 Spe
Meganium is now a specially-biased mixed wall. A secondary Fairy typing paired with Thick Fat improves Meganium's weaknesses and resistances substantially. The stat are slightly biased specially to avoid competing with Tangrowth and Ferrothorn. Access to Aromatherapy and Wish also makes Meganium a good cleric.

Typhlosion [Optimized]
Abilities: Blaze / Flash Fire
Stats: 78/84/78/130/85/100 (555)
Added Moves: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Earth Power, Dark Pulse, Flash Cannon, Energy Ball
Summary of Changes: +21 SpA
Typhlosion's biggest problem was a lack of special coverage. Note the use of the word "special", as Typhlosion's physical coverage was half-decent. Thunderbolt, Earth Power, and Dark Pulse give Typhlosion access to three of its physical coverage types as special attacks, and Flash Cannon comes from Gyro Ball. Finally, since Hidden Power Grass is common on normal Typhlosion sets, I gave it Energy Ball.

Meganium [Optimized]
Abilities: Overgrow / regenerator
New type:grass/rock

Stats: 100/72/120 /73/130/50 (565 BST)
Added Moves:U-turn,amneisa,ancient Power,Wish, stealth rocks,sand storm,rock Slide.
Summary of Changes:20+ HP/20+ Def/30+ SpD/30- Spe
Flavour:
Amneisa:dinosures have small brains and thus weak memory
Rock typing:most dinosure pokemon have as the rock Typing as it's linked with ancient times, the move "ancient Power" is rock type after all
Competitive:
Amneisa:alowes it to increase its special bulk making even harder to KO by wall breakers unless they're mixed
U-turn:alowes it to take hit, heal it back with regenerator, then switch out to a team member safely
Wish:alowes it to be a batter cleric.
252 SpA Charizard Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Meganium: 140-166 (34.6 - 41%) -- 64.2% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

I'm pretty sure Amnesia and U-Turn are fairly counterintuitive, since U-Turn removes all of your boosts. In fact, that's the very reason why Amnesia is listed as a "usually useless move": the stall and balance teams that would utilize this mon would constantly have to shuffle their teammates to be able to tank any given hit, making Amnesia dead weight.

To add on to this, I don't think flavor is too important in the Pet Mod. Sure it has to be somewhat reasonable, but I think optimizing the Pokemon is more important, obviously.

Sometimes flavor doesn't even matter. I don't think Ghastly and Wooper would have the elemental punches, but what do you know. Not bashing on you, that's just rude, but rather throwing in my two cents.

Typhlosion (Optimized)
Abilities:
Blaze | Regenerator (HA)
Type:

Stats: 78 / 64 / 78 / 119 / 85 / 111 (535 BST)
Added Moves: Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Morning Sun
Summary of Changes: -20 Atk, +10 SpA, +11 Spe
Justification: The only reason anyone uses Typhlosion is Eruption, let's be honest. So all I did was enhance that ability, with Thunderbolt and Energy Ball hitting Water-types and Morning Sun being helpful for getting your HP back up into "Nuclear Eruption Range". Regenerator also helps in that regard, helping Typhlosion keep their HP at a reasonable level even against hazard damage (you still want rocks off the field, though).

Meganium [Optimized]
Abilities:
Overgrow | Poison Heal
Stats: 90 HP / 92 Atk / 105 Def / 93 SpA / 115 SpA / 70 Spe
Moves Added: Curse*, Wish, Slack Off, Calm Mind, Aura Sphere, Hyper Voice, Thunder Wave, Bitter Herbs*
Summary of Changes: +10 HP, +10 Atk, +5 Def, +10 SpA, +15 SpD, -10 Spe

Curse: Removes any illegalities.

*Bitter Herbs:
|
| 70 BP | 100% Acc | 20 PP | Z-move: 175 BP | Doubles in power if inflicted with burn, paralysis or poison.

Meganium had no way to differentiate itself from other Grass types, so I went in an interesting direction and made it past Normal. It's funny as in gen 2 it's original set was Swords Dance. In Addition to that it was given wish to operate as a classic for teams. Bitter Herbs allow it to have massive offensive presence, and turns CM sets into hard to switch in to terrors.

Typhlosion [Optimized]
Abilities:
Blaze | Mold Breaker
Stats: 88 HP / 79 Atk / 81 Def / 119 SpA / 85 SpD / 113 Spe
Moves Added: Morning Sun, Earth Power, Dig, Psychic, Stealth Rock, Taunt, Grass Knot, Stealth Rock, Ash Cloud*
Summary of Changes: +10 HP, +3 Def, +10 SpA, +13 Spe

*Ash Cloud:
| - | 90% Acc | 15 PP | Z-move: Sharply Raises Special Attack | Traps Pokemon and lowers accuracy by one stage.

Fire / Ground is infinitely better than Pure Fire, with Mold Breaker, Typhlosion can bust up the variety of walls and classic Ground and fire switchins. Ash Cloud can trap and allow Typhlosion to trap and stall break

Feraligatr [Optimized]
Abilities:
Torrent | Strong Jaw
Stats: 85 HP / 118 Atk / 116 Def / 79 SpA / 84 SpD / 83 Spe
Moves Added: Thunder Punch, Psychic Fangs, Thunder Fang, Refresh, Gnasher*

*Gnasher:
| 90 BP | 90% Acc | 15 PP | Z-move: 175 BP | Bite-based move. 20% chance to flinch.

I always viewed Feraligatr as more of a Wall breaker than a sweeper, so I have it a power increase and some more solid defence. Gnasher is a powerful signature attack that when combined with Strong Jaw packs a powerful punch.

Meganium [Optimized]
Abilities
: Overgrow / Water Absorb (HA)
Stats: 100 HP / 82 Atk / 100 Def / 83 SpA / 120 SpD / 80 Spe | BST: 565
Added Moves: Recover, Wish, Calm Mind, Healing Wish, Dragon Pulse, Earth Power
Summary of Changes: +20 HP, +20 SpD

Meganium suffered from being outclassed by every other Grass-type with its mono-Grass typing and average stats. Optimized Meganium functions as a bulky cleric with Wish, Aromatherapy, and Healing Wish support, gaining increased bulk and especially special bulk.

Typhlosion [Optimized]
Abilities
: Blaze / Lightningrod (HA)
Stats: 78 HP / 84 Atk / 83 Def / 120 SpA / 90 SpD / 110 Spe | BST: 565
Added Moves: Discharge, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Parabolic Charge, Magnet Rise, Thunder Wave, Volt Switch
Summary of Changes: +5 Def, +11 SpA, +5 SpD, +10 Spe

Typhlosion suffered similarly to Meganium, being a mono-Fire type without anything particularly special about it. Optimized Typhlosion gains better special attack and speed as well as a secondary Electric STAB. Its Electric STAB in particular allows it to combat Water-types.

Feraligatr [Optimized]
Abilities
: Torrent / Sheer Force (HA)
Stats: 85 HP / 115 Atk / 108 Def / 79 SpA / 88 SpD / 90 Spe | BST: 565
Added Moves: Icicle Crash, Ice Shard
Summary of Changes: +10 Atk, +8 Def, +5 SpD, +12 Spe

Feraligatr was actually the most successful of the trio, with Sheer Force and Swords Dance/Dragon Dance providing it with good offensive presence. Optimized Feraligatr gains some more attack, bulk, and speed and a secondary Ice typing for an extra STAB.

Meganium [Optimized]
Abilities:
Overgrow | Sap Sipper
Stats: 100 HP, 97 Atk, 112 Def, 51 SpA, 130 SpD, 60 Spd (BST: 550)
Added Moves: Strength Sap, Wood Hammer, Leaf Blade, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Earth Power, Bulk Up, Taunt
Summary of Changes: +20 HP, +15 Atk, +12 Def, -32 SpA, +30 SpD, -20 Spd
Justification: Giving Meganium a ground typing and an ability keeping it from worrying about grass types, Meganium has a much improved time taking hits. Add on some much better bulk and reliable recovery in Sap Sipper and Meganium can actual be a reliable wall. In addition, Meganium becomes much less passive with a second stab, improved coverage and the ability to set-up with either Bulk Up or Sword Dance.

Typhlosion [Optimized]
Abilities:
Blaze | Sheer Force
Stats: 78 HP, 98 Atk, 78 Def, 109 SpA, 76 SpD, 111 Spd (BST: 550)
Added Moves: Tri Attack, Sword Dance, Fake Out, Energy Ball
Summary of Changes: +14 Atk, -9 SpD, +11 Spd
Justification: Typhlosion becomes a better Pyroar, with Sheer Force boosting it's moves and a boosted attack stat to hit from both sides. On the physical side Typhlosion has Body Slam, Flare Blitz and Earthquake, with the ability to boost in Sword Dance. On the special side Tri Attack, Energy Ball, Focus Blast and any fire move all get boosted as well. The added speed also allows Typhlosion to out speed all the Base 110s and below.

Feraligatr [Optimized]
Abilities:
Torrent | Sheer Force
Stats: 85 HP, 105 Atk, 130 Def, 63 SpA, 83 SpD, 83 Spd (BST: 550)
Added Moves: Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, Psychic Fangs
Summary of Changes: +30 Def, -16 SpA, +6 Spd
Justification: Added a bunch of defence allowing Feraligatr to set-up on physical attackers. Added speed allows Feraligatr to out speed even timid Mega-Alakazam now at +1. Added coverage gives Feraligatr options to hit bulky waters and other checks like Ferrothorn.

Feraligatr [Optimized]
Abilities:
Torrent | Strong Jaw [HA]
Stats: HP: 85 Atk 125 Def 100 SpA 59 SpD 83 Spe 98 BST 550
Added Moves: Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, *Crocobite, Psychic Fangs
Summary of Changes: +20 Atk, +20 Spe, -20 SpA
Justification: Feraligatr's main problems in my eyes were his underwhelming speed while unboosted (and even after a boost) and his pure Water-typing being his only way of dealing notable damage without a boost, I wanted to have faith and work around his dex entry, where it states multiple times the power behind its jaws, along the obvious Strong Jaw, I've added coverage moves which would get boosted by the new ability, Dragon-typing gives it a nice set of resistances and a secondary STAB in Outrage, which can even act as some sort of lure or way of breaking through its usual counters with a Z-Move. Obvious boost in Atk for the damage output and boost in Speed, so it can actually become really threatening after a single boost, being able to easily outspeed base 130s after a single Dragon Dance, losing Sheer Power means that carrying Life Orb would damage it, so to compensate, I've decided to create a signature move that makes perfect sense on it and also acts as a very powerful and dangerous STAB move, Crocobite, a name somewhat similar to Crabhammer in that regard

*Crocobite:
| 90 BP | 90% Acc | 15 PP | Z-move: 175 BP | Bite-based move so it gets boosted by Strong Jaw and therefore gives Feraligatr a powerful Water-type STAB to make up for the loss of Sheer Force-boosted Liquidation, prevents the foe from switching out, the move is based on this fragment of Croconaw's Dex Entry: "Once those fangs clamp down, the prey has no hope of escape."

(Using the new Model by DJTHED, and to quote, "It's a shame that Typhlosion is currently complete garbage in every single tier he's legal to use in, though.", time to change that, I guess)
(Yes, I know, another Fire/Fighting starter...)
Typhlosion [Optimized]
Abilities:
Blaze / Sheer Force
Stats: HP 78 Atk 64 Def 78 SpA 119 SpD 96 Spe 115 BST 550
Added Moves: Earth Power, Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere
Summary of Changes: -20 Atk, +10 SpA, +15 Spe, +11 SpD
Justification: Ironically, I removed Sheer Force from Feraligatr just to add it for Typhlosion, anyway, Fighting-type grants him some resistances while at the same time powering up the damage output of Focus Blast enormously and helping with the Stealth Rock weakness, I was planning to make it work out as a faster version of Mega Charizard Y, despite the low accuracy of its main STAB moves, it hits extremely hard with the combination of Sheer Power, Life Orb and the high BP of both Fire Blast and Focus Blast, a boost in SpA for the obvious damage output and a nifty boost in Speed, which places it on a sweet Speed tier of 115, Aura Sphere is there if you really prefer the perfect accuracy over insane power that Focus Blast provides, also a random SpDef boost because it doesn't hurt to have some bulk, and also in order to reach 550 BST without making it broken

Name: Meganium [Optimized]
Stats: 100/82/100/113/120/80 (+20 HP, +30 SpA +20 SpD, BST 595)
Ability: Overgrow/Regenerator
Typing:

New Moves: Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Floral Healing, Charm, Dazzling Gleam, Flower Shield, Nature's Madness, Mystical Fire
Justification: I wanted to take a different approach with the Gen 2 starters, especially Meganium. Rather than focusing on their roles, I wanted to directly address the weaknesses that inhibit them from competitive play. Meganium has mediocre bulk for a wall, leaving it outclassed, even in PU. Giving it 20 HP and 20 SpD builds on its decent defenses, making it quite bulky, even in OU. Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Nature's Madness and Charm allow Meganium to actually do something while walling another Pokémon. Meganium also doesn't have a good defensive typing, so the addition of a Fairy typing helps it both defensively and offensively. Furthermore, Meganium's better special stats differentiate it from Tapu Bulu. 113 Special Attack actually gives Meganium the ability to attack opponents, along with improved coverage in Mystical Fire. This also helps it reduce its weakness to Taunt, which is a major problem for it. Finally, Meganium has two completely useless abilities. Regenerator allows it to preserve its health, making Meganium even harder to take down than before. These additions turn Meganium into a useful special wall and team supporter/cleric.

Name: Typhlosion [Optimized]
Stats: 78/94/78/119/85/111 (+10 Atk, +10 SpA, +11 Spe, BST 565)
Ability: Blaze/Flash Fire
Typing:

New Move: Fracture
60 BP, 100%, +1 Priority, 20% chance to flinch
New Moves: Agility, Work Up, Earth Power, Ancient Power, Power Gem
Justification: Eruption is Typhlosion's main move in the current metagame, and I wanted to focus on complementing Typhlosion's status as a fast wallbreaker while also mitigating its weakness. Obviously, being weak to Stealth Rocks is very detrimental for a Pokémon using a health-dependent moves. Adding a Ground typing not only makes Typhlosion neutral to Stealth Rock, but also gives it STAB on many of its coverage options. Earth Power is a solid move that gives Typhlosion a secondary special STAB. To further add to Typhlosion's coverage, it receives two special Rock-type moves in Ancient Power and Power Gem, giving it unresisted coverage in three moves. Buffs to its offenses allow it to hit harder in the OU metagame, while base 111 Speed lets Typhlosion shutdown Kartana, Blacephalon, and base-100s such as Mega Charizard X/Y, Jirachi, and Victini. Typhlosion also receives set-up options in Work Up and Agility to either sweep or wallbreak. Finally, Typhlosion's new moves, Fracture, finally gives it access to priority and allows Typhlosion to threaten faster Pokémon and other priority users alike. Overall, while Typhlosion is still fully capable of running its flagship Choice Scarf Eruption set, it has received a bevy of new options that allow it to be a very versatile offensive Pokémon.

|
