[OVERVIEW]
Oricorio-G's almost unresisted STAB coverage combined with its access to Calm Mind and good Speed makes it a threatening wallbreaker and sweeper. Its typing also allows it to force out threats like Gurdurr and Victreebel and spinblock, which is greatly appreciated on team relying on stacking entry hazards. It can also make good use of Taunt to turn Pokemon like Audino, non-Rock Slide Mudsdale, and Clefairy into setup fodder, and it finds plenty of opportunities to use Substitute, which notably prevents it from getting revenge killed and allows it to dodge Sucker Punch from the likes of Skuntank and Absol and avoid status. Oricorio-G's bulky set takes advantage of its good defensive typing, bulk, and access to Roost and Taunt to switch into and use Pokemon like Gurdurr, Qwilfish, Hitmonchan, and Victreebel as setup fodder. However, it can struggle to wallbreak efficiently and needs multiple boosts to do so due to its average Special Attack. This means that (un-strike-through) walls like Regirock, Lanturn, and Articuno can easily take it on before it boosts. A weakness to Stealth Rock makes it extremely easy to wear down and forces it to use Roost a lot more than it'd like to, which can result in a loss of momentum and cut down on the number of times it can use Substitute. Oricorio-G is also susceptible to super effective coverage from threats it checks, such as Gurdurr's Knock Off and Hitmonchan's Thunder Punch and Stone Edge. It also struggles against faster Pokemon, like Lycanroc and Dodrio, which can KO it or even trap it with Pursuit in the latter's case. Its Ghost typing also leaves it vulnerable to Sucker Punch from the likes of Skuntank and especially Spiritomb, which bypasses Substitute with Infiltrator. Lastly, Oricorio-G receives major competition from Oricorio-E, as it's an overall better Pokemon thanks to its better defensive typing, which allows it to pivot into threats like Gurdurr and Hitmonchan more easily and leaves it forced out by fewer threats.

Moves
========
Calm Mind boosts Oricorio-G's Special Attack and Defense by one stage, making it significantly harder to wall, switch into, and revenge kill with threats like Simisear and Alolan Persian. Revelation Dance is a secondary STAB move that hits Lanturn, Rotom-F, and Regirock neutrally, potentially allowing Oricorio-G to get past them once they're weakened. Substitute allows Oricorio-G to dodge Sucker Punch from Pokemon like Skuntank and Absol, makes revenge killing it with threats like Dodrio and Alolan Raichu harder, and prevents it from getting statused by Pokemon like Altaria and non-Rock Slide Mudsdale. Roost is an option over Substitute for improved longevity, as it somewhat mitigates Oricorio-G's weakness to Stealth Rock and allows it to act as a switch-in to threats such as Victreebel and Hitmonchan. Hidden Power Fighting is another option, as it hits Alolan Sandslash harder than anything else while also hitting Aurorus and Aggron hard when unboosted.
Set Details
========
A Timid nature alongside maximum Speed investment allows Oricorio-G to outspeed key threats like Skuntank, Kangaskhan, Qwilfish, and Rotom-F as well as Speed tie with opposing Oricorio formes. Flyinium Z in conjunction with Hurricane gives Oricorio-G a strong nuke to break through defensive behemoths like Audino and Articuno. It also ignores Hurricane's poor accuracy. Alternatively, Leftovers gives Oricorio-G a little more longevity and partly negates the damage taken while making a Substitute.
Usage Tips
========
Oricorio-G should be used to wallbreak early- to mid-game against teams that lack a strong defensive switch-in like Regirock, but it can also be used as a sweeper against slower teams that don't. It should use Calm Mind when it forces out threats such as Ferroseed, Tangela, and Gurdurr. It can also set up on Pokemon that can't threaten it if it's running Substitute, such as Mudsdale, Audino, and Quagsire. The first thing Oricorio-G should do when facing offensive teams with no defensive switch-in is to use Substitute, as it allows Oricorio-G to avoid getting revenge killed by faster threats like Dodrio and Alolan Persian. While this set is more offensive, Oricorio-G can make use of its decent defensive typing to pivot into threats like Primeape and Victreebel, although it doesn't appreciate switching into their attacks if it isn't running Roost and has to be wary of Primeape's Stone Edge. Since it can only be used once, the Z-Move should be used very carefully to break through extremely bulky walls like Type: Null and Articuno. Oricorio-G can switch into a predicted Rapid Spin from users like Hitmonchan and Choice Scarf Kabutops, although it should be careful, as they can both hit it with a super effective move.
Team Options
========
Oricorio-G fits very well on teams based around stacking entry hazards, as it can spinblock thanks to its Ghost typing. It also greatly appreciates entry hazards weakening bulky titans like Regirock and Lanturn. Qwilfish is an amazing partner due to this, as it can also deal with Rapid Spin users Oricorio-G can't deal with, such as Alolan Sandslash, and acts as a secondary check to Fighting-types. Pokemon like Regirock and Mudsdale also work well with it, as they check Rock-types like Lycanroc. Conversely, due to Oricorio-G's weakness to Stealth Rock, Pokemon that can remove entry hazards are greatly appreciated. Hitmonchan is a good example, as it can also deal with threats that force Oricorio-G out such as Alolan Persian and Lycanroc, while Oricorio-G takes advantage of threats Hitmonchan invites, like Quagsire, in return. Skuntank and Cryogonal are other good examples, as the former can weaken Regirock, while the latter acts as a switch-in to Ice-types like Aurorus. Pokemon like Carracosta, Omastar, and Dodrio that appreciate Oricorio-G's ability to weaken walls such as Lanturn, Gastrodon, and Regirock make for good partners as well.

Roost allows Oricorio-G to consistently check threats like Gurdurr and Victreebel and stallbreak. It also allows Oricorio-G to negate Stealth Rock damage. Taunt allows Oricorio-G to beat threats it wouldn't be able to beat otherwise, such as Audino, Articuno, and Lanturn, as it prevents them from using recovery moves and crippling Oricorio-G with Toxic.
Set Details
========
A Timid nature alongside the Speed investment allows Oricorio-G to outspeed Qwilfish and anything slower, like Stoutland, and the leftover EVs are put into HP and Defense. Flyinium Z, when used alongside Hurricane, allows Oricorio-G to break through threats like Skuntank and Audino with a boosted Supersonic Skystrike as well as ignore Hurricane's poor accuracy. Alternatively, Rocky Helmet chips down physical attacking threats like Kangaskhan but especially U-turn and Knock Off users like Primeape and Gurdurr. Leftovers can also be used, as the passive recovery means it isn't forced to use Roost as often. An alternative EV spread of 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe along with a Timid nature allows Oricorio-G to outspeed Adamant Skuntank while giving it more bulk.
Usage Tips
========
Oricorio-G should be used as a switch-in to Pokemon like Victreebel, Gurdurr, and Lurantis and set up on them. This set can also use defensive behemoths like Clefairy, Audino, and Altaria as setup fodder thanks to Taunt. Oricorio-G should use Pokemon it forces out to either set up or attack; against teams with frail switch-ins and checks like Carracosta, it should set up with Calm Mind to pressure the opponent, while against teams with a sturdy switch-in like Regirock, it should aim to wear it down beforehand. It's extremely important to keep Oricorio-G healthy so it can consistently check the threats it's supposed to check, so it should use Roost against threats it forces out or that can't hit it, like Gurdurr and Bellossom. It can also use Roost to take neutral damage from Electric-type attacks from the likes of Lanturn and Eelektross. Lastly, status, especially Toxic from the likes of Gastrodon, Mudsdale, and Audino, should be avoided, as it greatly hinders Oricorio-G and gives it a hard time successfully stallbreaking or checking the threats it's supposed to check.
Team Options
========
Oricorio-G greatly appreciates entry hazards from the likes of Regirock and Qwilfish, as they weaken its switch-ins and checks like Lanturn and Lycanroc. Regirock can use Toxic on opposing Regirock and appreciates Oricorio-G's ability to check Fighting-types and spinblock, while Qwilfish appreciates Oricorio-G checking Ground-types and spinblocking. Mudsdale is another good partner, as it can check Rock- and Electric-types like Aggron and Manectric for Oricorio-G. Oricorio-G also appreciates entry hazards removal, as Stealth Rock greatly hinders its ability to check threats like Victreebel and stallbreak. Hitmonchan and Skuntank are good partners due to this, and the former can also check Dark-types like Alolan Persian, while Skuntank appreciates Oricorio-G's ability to check Fighting- and Ground-types. Pokemon like Stoutland, which weakens bulky titans like Regirock and Eelektross and benefits from Oricorio-G's ability to check Fighting-types like Gurdurr, make for good partners. Stoutland can also Pursuit trap Pokemon such as Lanturn and the aforementioned Eelektross. Oricorio-G works well around Pokemon such as Aurorus, Lycanroc, and Alolan Persian that appreciate the likes of Audino, Lanturn, and Mudsdale weakened or KOed. Lycanroc can pressure threats like Skuntank, while Aurorus weakens Alolan Sandslash and Cryogonal. Alolan Persian brings Oricorio-G on the field safely and benefits from Oricorio-G checking Fighting-types like Gurdurr and Hitmonchan. Fighting-types like Gurdurr, Poliwrath, and Primeape enjoy Oricorio-G's ability to check Pokemon like Victreebel. In exchange, they check Dark-, Ice-, and Rock-types like Alolan Raticate, Alolan Sandslash, and Lycanroc. Lastly, Pokemon like Drampa, Lanturn, and Gastrodon can switch into Electric-types like Eelektross, Alolan Raichu, and Rotom-F for Oricorio-G, and the latter two appreciate its ability to check Grass-types as well as Fighting-types for the former.

Other Options
=============
A Choice Specs set can be used, as Oricorio-G's near-unresisted STAB combination complemented by its good Speed and Hurricane's Base Power makes it pretty hard to switch into. However, the Calm Mind set is a more threatening wallbreaker in the long run and can also switch moves. Moreover, a Choice Specs set is easy to take advantage of by threats like Stoutland and Aggron depending on the move it's locked into, and the former can even trap it with Pursuit. Oricorio-G can also successfully use a Choice Scarf set due to its good Speed tier, which enables it to outspeed dangerous threats like Simisear and Carracosta, and access to U-turn, and it has a nice surprise factor. However, it can easily be taken advantage of with threats like Kangaskhan and Lycanroc depending on what it locks itself into, and it faces competition from other Choice Scarf users that are faster an hit harder, such as Dodrio and Primeape. Defog is an option to take advantage of Oricorio-G's ability to force out threats, its typing, and Taunt to remove entry hazards against the likes of Qwilfish and Mudsdale and prevent them from setting them again. However, it struggles to beat Froslass and Regirock, two prominent setters, which can make it unreliable. It also means that Oricorio-G is giving up on Calm Mind, which makes it significantly easier to deal with, and it gives up on what it can do best.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Rock-types**: Regirock is capable of switching into any Oricorio-G set and threatening it with Rock Slide and Stone Edge. It can also set Stealth Rock or use Toxic on the switch-in as Oricorio-G is forced out. Other Rock-types like Lycanroc and Aggron can't switch in directly but can pressure Oricorio-G rather easily, although they fail to revenge kill it if it's behind a Substitute.
**Ice-types**: Ice-types like Alolan Sandslash, Rotom-F, Froslass, and Aurorus can easily get rid of Oricorio-G with their STAB moves, although, depending on the set, they have to be wary of Hidden Power Fighting and even boosted Revelation Dance, especially if Oricorio-G is behind a Substitute. Cryogonal tanks everything Oricorio-G can throw at it, Recover any damage it takes, force it out, or cripple it with Toxic, and Frost Breath variants always beat Oricorio-G.
**Electric-types**: Lanturn, Eelektross, and Alolan Raichu can all pressure Oricorio-G rather easily, although they fail to do so if it has many boosts under its belt. Oricorio-E is another example, as it even has Dancer to copy Oricorio-G's Revelation Dance. However, Lanturn is setup fodder for bulky Oricorio-G after a certain number of boosts and Alolan Raichu fails to revenge kill Oricorio-G if it's behind a Substitute.
**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Skuntank, Absol, and Alolan Raticate can all take out Oricorio-G with their STAB moves, and the former two can even revenge kill it with Sucker Punch, although Oricorio-G can play around it with Substitute. Alolan Persian outspeeds Oricorio-G and threatens it with Dark Pulse, although it can struggle to break through Oricorio-G if it has boosted several times, and none of these Pokemon can safely switch into it.
**Strong Attackers**: Pokemon like Stoutland, Dodrio, and Simisear can pressure Oricorio-G rather easily, although they can't switch in, and the former is slower than it, which means that it can still get KOed by a boosted attack. Simisear also can't break through a boosted Oricorio-G.
**Status**: Status, especially Toxic, greatly cripples Oricorio-G and gives it a way harder time checking threats like Gurdurr and Victreebel and stallbreaking. However, it can shut down status move users like Gastrodon, Mudsdale, Jellicent, and Audino with Taunt or Substitute and use them as setup fodder.
