Greetings,
Here goes my second attempt at an RMT. This one will be published on Smogon, and BulbaWiki Forums for the best possible RMT coverage, *nervous laugh* and I'll check back in on this one more often. Just ahead of time I'm going to tell you all about my basic battle strategy, so that you can form your responses accordingly. My battling strategy is mainly old school offensive battling, but some stats effects and such are used as well. Also, I only battle using my favorite Pokemon, something that seemed to have left popularity after the second generation of Pokemon video games. That being said, please suggest new moves, effort value spreads, abilities, or leads, but try not to recommend new Pokemon. This is my OU team, and so far Umbreon has carried me, but I'd like not to be dependant on a Pokemon who gets destroyed by Scizor. Pleas take note if you check my tier rating, because I have recently started out with a new username (Jake Of Johto, my current one), I don't know what it is, but my friends have told me it wasn't very good. When I get substantial feedback on this RMT, I'll start laddering again.

LEAD↓
Kongamato (Crobat) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Zen Headbutt
- Taunt
- X-Scissor
---
Everyone now a days seems to be running entry hazards or weather teams like Rain Dance and Sunny Day, so a really fast Crobat lead with Taunt shuts most of those down. With only Electrode and Shedinja being faster than him in OU, he out runs pretty much everything. I toyed around with Toxic Spikes, but some many people run entry hazards, and in turn even more run Starmie with Rapid Spin. Making entry hazards not worth losing a turn of attacking over, but in most cases Taunting is. Leftovers help balance the recoil from Brave Bird, thus countering the Machamp leads that so many people are running lately. Zen Headbutt was just a whimsy attack, because Confuse Ray really wasn't working for my battle style, and I wasn't getting enough Hax off of it. I'm running X-Scissors to counter people who send out Psychic Type Pokemon that attempt to get a STAB hit on him.
Dusk (Umbreon) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 138 HP/252 Atk/120 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Moonlight
- Payback
- Sucker Punch
---
Being my favorite Pokemon of all time, I try to make Umbreon my best Pokemon. Believe you me, I have succeeded. Obviously Umbreon is a Curser, but what people never suspect is that he is the one to benefit from the Curse, that he will Baton Pass. Sad for them, because I detest all that Baton Passers stand for. Another stupid thing people try is throwing in a Dragon Dancer. Let me just say this, Curse raises attack and defense, so Dragon Dance is useless. Example, I've already done over 200% damage to a Salamance with Payback after full Curse. Sucker Punch is really fun to use on those poor jerks who send out Azelf or a related species and expect to get away with a U-Turn, can you say OKO (that's before I Curse)? Also Curse usually makes Payback hit second giving it a base power of 100, plus its a STAB, and Cursed; not much can touch him. Obviously I'm very proud of my Umbreon, and I never want him to get injured, so Moonlight heals all his cuts and bruises, and Leftovers never hurt anybody. I don't think I could make Umbreon any better, but your opinions still matter.
Blaze (Typhlosion) (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Extrasensory
- Roar
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Water]
---
Flamethrower is the strongest high accuracy fire move, and just expected on any Fire Type starter, so why disappoint? Extrasensory is just really fun to use against the unsuspecting, and Roar gets rid of certain Pokemon when I want them gone. I've contemplated Solar Beam, but then I'd be forced to be a Sunny Beamer, which I again dislike, and isn't worth it because Typhlosion learns neither Synthesis nor Morning Sun. Hidden Power (Water) is pure coverage for Sandstorm teams with tons of Ground Types, and other Fire Pokemon. Typhlosion is probably my biggest issue Pokemon, his moves and item are my biggest issue, so please help me!
RaiRai (Raichu) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Static
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]
---
If you hadn't noticed by this point in time, I battle in OU with quite a few UU and BL Pokemon, for the most part owing to the fact that I only battle with my favorite Pokemon. A good Plusel to this to that is no one is focusing their team against those Pokemon, like Scizor and Latias. Raichu is my Shining example of this, in a few ways. Thunder Wave= Paralyze= HAX, `nuff said there. Thunderbolt is a good STAB attack, and it has excellent accuracy. Grass Knot is the true reason Raichu is so beast. Grass Knot's usual OKO casualties are Swampert, Rhyperior, and Hippowadon. I run Hidden Power [Ice] because his Focus Sash lets him get one good hit on Dragon Types, and because most OU Dragons get 4X damage because they're part Flying or Ground.
Dopelgengr (Gengar) (M) @ Wide Lens
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast
- Psychic
---
With his signature grin its hard not to love Gengar. My Gengar's Speed is fast, not Crobat fast, but faster than Typhlosion. The Wide Lens makes Focus Blast a heck of a lot more acurate, and Wide Lens helps me K.O a lot of Pokemon. Energy Ball is a good Grass Type move, and Psychic helps OKO Lucario, a big offensive threat to my Umbreon. Finally I have Shadow Ball as the best possible STAB for Gengar.
D-nite (Dragonite) (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Roost
---
Just took the advice given below, and switched out Heracross, hope you guys can further help, thanks.
