U-turn allows Tapu Koko to take advantage of forced switches and generate momentum for its offensive teammates. Roost improves its longevity, allowing it to continuously check Pokemon such as Tornadus-T and Zeraora throughout a match. Dazzling Gleam threatens Pokemon such as Garchomp, Dragapult, and Hydreigon, which resist Thunderbolt; however, it can be replaced with Toxic, which can put Pokemon like Landorus-T and Hippowdon on a timer. Due to Tapu Koko's weakness to Ground-types, checks to them like Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Tornadus-T are appreciated. Offensive Pokemon such as Garchomp and Hydreigon appreciate Tapu Koko's offensive utility through pivoting and wearing down their checks with Toxic.
