Project OU Teambuilding Competition V9 (Done! See you all in Sun & Moon)

MrAldo

Hey

Team 15 by AM has won this teambuilding round! Congratulations, will be added to the hall of fame one of these days, probably not soon but it will be added :]

Next:

ROUND 47:

+

Presenting the infamous, the Pokemon that make people hate my resident tier for no actual reason (RU) just by being there, Alomomola! Easily the best wish passer in the game, the incredible combination of wish + regenerator make Alomomola viable on basically every tier where it is allowed, and in OU it has been gaining some traction seeing usage in WCOP and stuff, solid mon but you gotta pair with something that love this huge ass wishes this Pokemon pass around. Enter Heatran! Beating all the Grass-types (besides Breloom) and some electric types that could threaten Mola while Mola helps with ground types and what not. Heatran really appreciates the wish support cause it is really prone to get worn down pretty easily and Mola solves that just like that.

Random lower tier Pokemon + Glue standard OU Pokemon always does the trick, omg. Building stage lasts until August 15th Monday (Could be Thursday 16th if I forget...) at 10:59 PM GMT -5 (Central time). Have fun everyone!

If you guys could take Alomomola that would be great

Started with the core. added mlatias to check electrics and whatever. i added a doublade next because why the fuck not. Next was chesnaught to set spikes and check lando, and then finally av raikou to check manaphy and gengar as well as lo tornt. (might edit this post in the morning with a better description)
Alomomola was the standard set and its here to provide wishes and spread status and be frustrating to kill. Heatran checks Mega Scizor more reliably than mola while also being a switchin to latis, checking clef, and providing rocks. Mega Latias was added to check a number of threatening offensive pokemon like Keldeo, Mega Charizard Y, Thundurus, and Mega Manectric and also serves as a wincon to take the goal of the team a little away from "switch into the appropriate obese mon until your opponent kills themself". Doublade increases this team's meme factor while taking care of mons like Mega Gardevoir, Mega Diancie, Mega Pinsir, Mega Heracross, and more (with no chance to be trapped by Magnezone god I hate that mon). In addition this is another mon that likes the wish support Alomomola provides. Chesnaught isn't a very common pick for OU teams but here it keeps the likes of Ttar, SD Lando-T, Excadrill, and SD Garchomp in check while setting spikes and being generally a pain in the ass to kill. Roar on this because it helps with stuff like SD LO Chomp and also because i realized suicune 6-0s this team and i didnt want to give up a slot for roar on Mlati. AV Raikou might be a strange sight nowadays but it fills several vital roles for this team by keeping Gegnar, Manaphy, LO Torn-T, and Alakazam in check better than anything else on my team, while greatly appreciating the Wish support from momo to stay healthy.

I put BrightPowder over Leftovers because I firmly believe that dodging is way better than trying to get what, 6.25% every turn, it also makes people tilt "what the fuck brightpowder at 1650 fuck this shitty ass game i hope you get cancer".

Anyway, Rest Heatran beats stall, there's only one viable stall team (don't pretend otherwise). Escavalier helps with Clefable and Psychics, also Gengar/Serp/Raikou, somewhat. I thought it was a pretty cool choice so I went with it. Mew is hazard control, Dragonite offers a way to revenge things, and Mega Venu counters Keldeo because I don't like just having one check in Alomomola (which i dont think even beats sub cm which i am seeing for whatever reason, it sucks guise).

Lagging on phone so here's the team.

Was p sure that everybody have built a semi stall or a stall, also a bulky team. That's the reason 'cuz I'm presenting this offensive team. Started to build around AV
and Stall breaker
with power herb. This two were perfect partners for
because Alomomola takes electrick special moves and +eball from manaphy really well and kill the opp mons with mirror coat and heatran with solar beam hurts hardly rotom wash, slowbro and keldeo. I added
to take keldeos move and for defog.
was choosen because of his high speed and his ability wich traps mons like skarmory and ferrothorns wich can give some problems to mpinsir.
stops powerful mons like excadrill in the sandrush and it's another win condiction versus bulky slow teams.

balance ft. kingfish.

one thing cool about kingfish is that if you have a wish set up when stuff like latios comes in, ttar can heal off the draco / surf and reliably beat latios. i also won with this in pocl. alomomola is broken

Alomomola provides excellent Wish support to Heatran, than can not recover alone (except Leftovers / Rest), so I decided to build something more focused on the defensive.
These crazy EVs in Heatran are to make it faster than Suicune, Venusaur etc. and also to Substitute block a Foul Play STAB and a Knock Off from Mega Sableye and not lose this precious item.
Gliscor is an attempt to not lose to common stallbreaker as M-Hera and Magma Tran.
Chansey and Mega Sableye are simple.
Amoonguss makes a Regen core with Alomomola. Protect? wft? Oh, extra Black Sludge recovery and fuck Bounce Gya.
This team doesn't have hazard control, but only things like Heatran, Clefable and Excadrill can do it. While Gliscor has Taunt, since only spam Spikes would be really problematic.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-414829133 - here is a replay showing how the team works. this team had superpower on Tyranitar and focus blast on Thundurus but after playing this game we found out having ice moves for Gliscor was best.

the main goal of this team is hazard stacking with Heatran and chestnaught to put pressure the other persons team and allow for Thundurus, M-Gardevoir to break through while Scarf Tyranitar is there to check Charizard Y , Charizard X, Starmie , Latios, Talonflame, and outspeed base 115's. Spikes on the field also allow Pivoting into Alomomola much better because Alomomola can pivot in and out of pokemon such as Tyranitar, keldeo , Latios , Landorus-T, Starmie , Heatran , M-Diancie , M-Lopunny etc and toxic them or scald for damage or switch out depending on what move they use. And Thundurus is here for Stall and Balance Breaking, Checking Bulky waters and Some Steel types such as M-Scizor.

I just grabbed the Torn-T set from WCOP thread which I thought was really cool and needed a time to try. I've been liking Specs Latios a lot lately for its ability to cushion up a lot of fatter squads. The Alo / Heatran core is kind of weird since they form a nice defensive combo but can be a complete liability to stuff like Manaphy, so having a lot of offensive pressure behind it is important. Everything is more or less standard here, the only weird thing is Toxic on Lando-T to Toxic other Lando-T, Tangrowth switch ins, Hippowdon, and normal pivots to Lando-T. There isn't a whole lot to say I might try a version with Scarf Latios but I kind of hate the set with a passion although some like it and then something like SubToxic Lando-T or Double Dance. Crappy description but idk what there is to really say.

ty to Starmei, yuruuu , AM for taking a look at this team. This was my take on Alo+Heatran. Basically this is using Magma Storm Heatran+Sharpen MDiancie to give me a decent matchup versus stall, I have the ability to spread lots of status around, and spam knock off to make checking certain things and/or playing around them easier. vs offence i have the ability to pivot around most stuff relatively easily, and can check most threats 1 vs 1. team can't really switch in on things like Kyurem-B/ZardY/MVoir/Manaphy that easily, and if you want some more leeway possibly running Protect>Sharpen Diancie and/or using ScarfTar>Torn-T are some interesting options. two rocky helmets along with toxic+SR, lets me potentially chip my opponents team quite a bit, before attempting to clean with Diancie. team doesn't get worn down too easily, so i decided to forego hazard removal, I feel this team is relatively decent and should do ok in practice vs most teams. Mega Manectric offence is frankly terrible to face with this, so a decent idea is to try ScarfTar>Torn-T which also makes facing bird spam a lot easier. AV tangrowth also i a decent option afaik enjoy!

The team is stall No need for much explanation. Alomomola for those wish passing, toxic to stall out mons that it walls and scald for burning. Heatran for charizard x without eq with earth power, lava plume for burning, and toxic stall. Amoonguss for a grass resist and to stop fairies like clef. Skarm for hazard control and spikes with counter for mega cross. Sableye for walling alot of the meta game on the physical side. and chansey for walling alot of the meta game on the special side.

For this team I used the defensive core of alomomola, heatran and amoonguss while the more agressive offensive core with manaphy, mega alakazkam and terrakion, alomomola covers alot of things neutrally and resist ice/fire/water/steel it helps heatran with switching into grounds and gives heatran wish support while heatran covers up grass types and provides rocks for the team, amoonguss is handy to resist electric types, give out sleep status and form a regen core with alomomola and helping deal with mons like sub calm mind keldeo easier for alo + tran, manaphy is on my team since it helps breaks down stall rain dance to beat chansey easier while psyhic to beat opposing amoonguss, rotom and mega venusaur, mega alakazham helps clean up faster pokemon like mega lopunny and sand rush excadrill while terrakion helps give out much damage as possible while also being decent switch in for tyranitar.

When i saw the core i thought that this would be a nice slow but hard hitting based team because of the wish passing capability of Alomomola, so i immediately thought of using Heracross as my Mega as well as a heavy hitter, im using a faster variant to speed creep mons like Breloom or Bisharp even after mega evolving because they seemed a bit problematic for the main core and especially Breloom. I decided to use CB Crawdaunt along with Heracross because they make an amaizing heavy hitting core and Crawdaunt gives a really useful priority that being Aqua Jet and can single handed deal with stall. I decided to use Latios as the defogger because i needed a bulky water check. Especially the T-Bolt variant fills that core extremely well. Last but not least, i needed something to deal with Offense as well as Manectric which is really problematic so i decided on using the old reliable Scarf Landorus-T. I havent used this team as much but the times i did use it, i was satisfied by its performance and i didnt see any particular weaknesses. Please send me as much feedback as possible!

I added
to take keldeos move and for defog.
was choosen because of his high speed and his ability wich traps mons like skarmory and ferrothorns wich can give some problems to mpinsir.
stops powerful mons like excadrill in the sandrush and it's another win condiction versus bulky slow teams.

one thing cool about kingfish is that if you have a wish set up when stuff like latios comes in, ttar can heal off the draco / surf and reliably beat latios. i also won with this in pocl. alomomola is broken

Very nice! Votins last until Thursday 18th at 11:59 PM GMT -5 (Central time). May the best one win!
