Winners!

For Walking Wake, we have Cheryl. with Chimeragon!

Name: Chimeragon (Chimera + dragon)
Original Pokemon: Walking Wake
Typing:
Dragon.png
Bug.png

Abilities: Swarm | Heatproof
Stats: 61/108/80/108/80/98 (535 BST)

New Moves: Scathing Swarm, Bug Buzz, Quiver Dance, Megahorn, Leech Life, U-turn, Scale Shot, Stomping Tantrum
Removed Moves: All Water moves except Hydro Steam, Flamethrower
110 BP Special Bug move, 8 PP, 100% accuracy. Lowers the user's Special Attack by 1 stage.
Role: Setup sweeper with QD/DD. Both sets have their own pros and cons (with both having access to pretty strong STABs) but are held back by Bug/Dragon being a poor offensive typing and mid coverage. AoA sets are also a possibility with U-turn to pivot out of common resists, as well as potentially being a decent weather abuser with Hydro Steam and Weather Ball access.
Flavor: The abomination. Present-day Suicune is known for purifying water but what many don't realize is that in the ancient past, it wasn't really the picture of purity. Quite the opposite, this mon was a hideous beast whose only relation to water was its ability to create scalding blasts of water using a mix of dragon's breath and the acids it used to break down its prey. Because of this unique ability, Chimeragon could dominate over hot Fire-type infested areas by buzzing around and driving away would-be predators with its Hydro Steams. According to legends told in the Johto region, Chimeragon devolved over time into one of the Pokemon that was revived by Ho-oh after the burning of the Brass Tower, becoming modern-day Suicune which went through a drastic change in appearance. It lost all ties to its insect and draconic past but was blessed with an incredible control over water which it now uses to purify instead of to terrorize.

For Gouging Fire, we have Cyaneedle with Vulcaneast!
:gouging fire: :camerupt-mega:
Name: Vulcaneast

Removed Moves: Dragon Dance, Morning Sun, Draco Meteor,

And finally, for Raging Bolt, we have Spammernoob with Raging Bolt (we are changing this name or I will kill you irl (in Minecraft))!
Name: Raging Bolt
Original Pokemon: Raging Bolt
Typing: Electric/Flying
Abilities: Electro Overload / Immunity
Stats: 108/53/81/104/79/75 (500)

Electric Surge + lands before using Electric-type moves (Roost effect)
New Moves: Roost, Aeroblast, Air Slash, Hurricane, Whirlwind, (Flavor Flying-type moves)
Removed Moves: Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Hammer, Outrage, Dragon Breath, Dragon Cheer, Breaking Swipe, Dragon Tail, Calm Mind, Rising Voltage

Role: Electric-Flying defensive mon with terrain-setting; can utilize terrain but at a cost. Secondary allows it to play into Carracosta/Armaldo a bit more freely.

Yippee new winners!! I will have these coded shortly, and Slate 17 will likely open tomorrow!

SLATE 17 - Gods of the Old World (Thundurus, Tornadus, Landorus, Enamorus)
:sv/thundurus-therian::sv/tornadus-therian: :sv/landorus-therian: :sv/enamorus-therian:

It's time for another Ancient Form slate! The forces of nature are great beings that have existed for as long as records have been kept, but what about before that? The goal for this slate will be to create ancient versions of the mons listed above, which will follow the same rules as regional variants. Keep in mind for this slate that the ancient forms will be of the Therian variants of the above mons, and will use that form visually. The rules for submission are as follows:

  • You can sub 1 to 4 of the Pokémon chosen in this slate
  • Make sure to compare your submission to what already exists to help gauge its power and ensure you're not outclassing anything. There has been plenty of playtesting of the current meta, so I highly recommend reading through the assorted metagame discussion posts and getting feedback on your submission in the Discord.
  • Custom Elements are allowed, as long as they are different from already existing abilities/moves and are relatively simple to code (no custom field effects - we're learning from last gen lol. Also, if you think it's codable but our coder disagrees, then you'd better be prepared to code it yourself if it wins.)
  • Since this is an Ancient Form slate, make sure your submissions have the same BST as the original Pokémon.
  • To clarify, any Pokémon not currently in Generation 9 will instead use its Generation 8 movepool minus dexited moves (aka moves that are unusable in SV).

Original Pokémon: Thundurus
Typing:
Electric.png

Abilities: Mold Breaker
Stats: 101 / 105 / 80 / 135 / 80 / 79 [580 BST]

New Moves: Defog, Gust, Hurricane, Twister, Whirlwind
Removed Moves: Acrobatics, Fly, Grass Knot, Sunny Day
100 BP Special Electric, 5 PP, 80% Acc. Can't miss in Rain, sets Rain.
Role: The only Volt Switch mon that doesn't get blocked by Carracosta. Besides that niche, this is also the meta's Rain setter, using Wildbolt Storm to enable mons like Swishivish and Servachne. Since Wildbolt is Electric type, it gets blocked by Grounds, so you'll have to rely on Water-type teammates to break through mons like Carriguana. Also encourages people to use Grounds besides Armaldo since it blows that mon up with Hurricane.
Flavor: I wanted to lean into the seasonal theming of the Forces of Nature, while also tying each of them to a weather/disaster. Thundurus brought lightning storms wherever it went, destroying the land around it but allowing everything that survived to grow stronger.

:sv/tornadus-therian:
Name: Tornadus-Hibernal
Original Pokémon: Tornadus
Typing:
Poison.png
Flying.png

Abilities: Sticky Hold
Stats: 100 / 79 / 121 / 110 / 80 / 90 [580 BST]

New Moves: Blizzard, Clear Smog, Cross Poison, Defog, Frost Breath, Gunk Shot, Ice Beam, Poison Fang, Poison Jab, Toxic
Removed Moves: Heat Wave, Rain Dance, Sandstorm, Sunny Day
100 BP Special Flying, 5 PP, 80% Acc. 1.5x power and can't miss in Snow, sets target's ability to Delta Stream.
Role: Fat Flying type that doesn't care about Armaldo. While offensive Armaldo sets can still threaten damage with Stone Edge, you pretty much stonewall standard pivot sets, forcing people to diversify to other Grounds. Bleakwind Storm also makes you pretty much impossible to break through on the physical side, which is good since Tornadus's lack of recovery and Rocks weakness make it pretty much a sitting duck for chip.
Flavor: I wanted to lean into the seasonal theming of the Forces of Nature, while also tying each of them to a weather/disaster. Tornadus was found only in the coldest winter plains, where it would fill the area with shrieking winds that would blast anything foolish enough to travel through its domain with sheets of ice and snow. Modern testing has revealed these winds also carried deadly airborne bacteria, which took out anything that could brave the cold.

:sv/landorus-therian:
Name: Landorus-Autumnal
Original Pokémon: Landorus
Typing:
Rock.png
Flying.png

Abilities: Drought
Stats: 89 / 90 / 134 / 105 / 80 / 102 [600 BST]

New Moves: Brave Bird, Meteor Beam, Power Gem
Removed Moves: Grass Knot, Rain Dance, Sandstorm
100 BP Special Rock, 5 PP, 80% Acc. Can't miss and guaranteed Burn in Sun.
Role: Weird offensive tank with great coverage but weird STABs. Special sets are stronger but lack Flying STAB, while physical sets have better coverage but lack the utility of Sandsear Storm, so you'll likely want to compromise by running mixed. Also sets Sun for the many offensive Fires of the meta, enabling mons like Hemlophosaur and Combysa. Rock/Flying also lets it be a weird semi-switchin to Vulcaneast, though Drought keeps that switchin potential at "semi".
Flavor: I wanted to lean into the seasonal theming of the Forces of Nature, while also tying each of them to a weather/disaster. Landorus brought terrible dryness wherever it went, marking the end of the rainy season and the transition to winter.

:sv/enamorus-therian:
Name: Enamorus-Vernal
Original Pokémon: Enamorus
Typing:
Fairy.png
Bug.png

Abilities: Pestilence
Pestilence: While this Pokemon is active in Sandstorm, all Pokemon without this ability lose 1/16 HP per turn. Immune to Sandstorm damage.
Stats: 74 / 115 / 110 / 135 / 100 / 46 [580 BST]

New Moves: Bug Buzz, First Impression, Infestation, Leech Life, Pollen Puff, Sandstorm, Struggle Bug, U-Turn
Removed Moves: Fly, Mystical Fire, Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Tailwind
100 BP Special Bug, 5 PP, 80% Acc. Can't miss in Sandstorm, sets Sandstorm.
Role: Bulky breaker that piles chip onto opponents. Can't do much into mons like Drednaw but is a major nuisance into everything else.
Flavor: I wanted to lean into the seasonal theming of the Forces of Nature, while also tying each of them to a weather/disaster. Enamorus was never seen without its accompanying swarm of locusts, surrounding it with a dark cloud that would block out the sun. It would go dormant during the winter, then reemerge as the frost melted.

Hard Launching multi weather Genies from my Glacemons sub, but this time, tailor made! The moves gimmick was to perform well in two weathers. So this Mon will have the same vine, where it weather it sets, and the other it "abuses" (because all setters are abusers unless your Torkoal).

Not a veto, but can you clarify if the ability sets the Rain weather or the Heavy Rain weather (as in, the one that is set by Primordial Sea)?

NP sets on this are pretty overtuned. It's pretty easy to run multiple Flying types due to how strong the meta's Flying mons are, and therefore it's easy to boost Bleakwind Storm to very high power levels (even just 2 Flying teammates gives you 120 po, forcing opponents to answer Tornadus with resists, but the problem is that those resists just drop to coverage (Focus Blast / Heat Wave). The speed tier also means offensive counterplay is kind of a no-go without a scarfer. Gonna need to majorly detune this in a couple areas, most likely dropping coverage and lowering the power of Bleakwind Storm.

This mon's stats are way too high, especially when all of its coverage can be minimum 90 BP (and up to 110 BP). The sig move also probably snowballs too quickly, and coding its interaction with the ability feels like a pain.

Stats: 94 / 105 / 145 / 90 / 90 / 81 [600 BST]
New Moves: Rock Blast, Meteor Beam, Power Gem, Ancient Power, Darkest Lariat, Bite, Dark Pulse
Sandsear Storm | Rock | Physical | 90 BP | 100% Accuracy | 10 PP | Is Rock or Ground-type, whichever does more damage.
Role: free maw jaw shadow pounce in ccvc. very high risk high reward mon in that it has a million weaknesses but also a lot of resists so free chip if you can switch into mons
Flavor: oyamatsumi smt v:v
This guy punishes Fire/Flying types way too hard. It completely screws already weak mons like Heliolisk while losing to already great mons like Alticombat and Combysa. The ability is too polarizing and the best fix is to lower the BP of the revenge attack.

Name: Thundurus-Northward
Original Pokémon: Thundurus-Therian
Typing: Electric/Ice
Abilities: Snow Warning | HA: Serene Grace
Stats: 110/60/70/80/90/170
New Moves: Blizzard, Aurora Veil, Ice Punch, Ice Shard, Snowscape, Icy Wind, Haze, Encore, Taunt, Torment, Disable, Iceflash Storm
Removed Moves
: Nasty Plot, Acrobatics, Hammer Arm
Role: Completely and totally obnoxious support. Designed to not be too broken, but DEFINITELY ruin your opponent’s day and/or year.
Flavor: The crystals of ice formed in desolate lands where thunder struck as Thundurus flew northward across the sky, taken form and fused with their origin before separation.
170 Speed Aurora Veil mon is a no.

Name: Landorus-Southward
Original Pokémon: Landorus-Therian
Typing: Ground/Fire
Abilities: Drought | HA: Dry Skin
Stats: 110/130/140/80/60/60
New Moves: Searing Shot, Armor Cannon, Lava Plume, Magma Storm, Blaze Kick, Fire Fang, Fire Lash, Fire Punch, Flame Charge, Flame Wheel, Flare Blitz, Raging Fury, Sacred Fire, Blazecrash Storm
Removed Moves
: Swords Dance, Bulk Up
Role: Bulky, slow physical wallbreaker. Dry skin is very helpful, turning a 4X weakness into an immunity, and a 4X resistance into an… almost 4X resistance.
Flavor: The flames created as Landorus flew southward across the sky, taken form and fused with their origin before separation.
Drought sets have zero defensive counterplay, also this mon completely overlaps with Vulcaneast. Please rework it.

Name: Tornadus-Eastward
Original Pokémon: Tornadus-Therian
Typing: Flying/Water
Abilities: Drizzle | HA: Jet Stream

Jet Stream: Sets Tailwind for 3 turns upon entry

Stats:
110/60/50/90/60/210
New Moves: Hydro Pump, Scald, Surf, Muddy Water, Seastrike Storm
Removed Moves
: N/A
Role: Speed control god. Incredibly frail, but absurdly fast and respectably strong.
Flavor: The winds left behind as Tornadus flew eastward across the sky, taken form and fused with their origin before separation.
NP Drizzle sets are broken. Also 210 Speed is just so absurdly overkill on this.

Name: Enamorus-Westward
Original Pokémon: Enamorus-Therian
Typing: Fairy/Grass
Ability: Grassy Surge | HA: Simple
Stats: 110/70/80/140/140/40
New Moves: Seed Flare, Giga Drain, Mega Drain, Leaf Storm, Leaf Tornado, Energy Ball, Petal Dance, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot, Grasswither Storm
Removed Moves: N/A
Role: Slow special wall and setup sweeper
Flavor: The grass taken from the ground as Enamorus flew westward across the sky, taken form and fused with their origin before separation.
Simple CM sets are broken.

Alright, voting is closed, and we have our winners!

For Thundurus and Tornadus, we have me with Thundurus-Estival and Tornadus-Hibernal!
:sv/thundurus-therian:
Name: Thundurus-Estival

For Landorus, we have G-Luke with Landorus-Hourglass!
:sv/landorus-therian:
Name: Landorus-Hourglass
Original Pokémon: Landorus-Therian
Typing:
Poison.png
Flying.png

Abilities: Sand Stream | HA: Solar Power
Stats: 109 HP / 100 Atk / 120 Def / 105 SpA / 75 SpD / 91 Spe [600 BST]
New Moves: Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Corrosive Gas, Foul Play, Acid Spray, Clear Smog, Solar Beam, Rock Polish, Power Gem
Removed Moves: U-turn, Hammer Arm, Grass Knot, Swords Dance
Role: Big bulky Rock type Sand setter. Sand doesn't deserve a guy who can pivot so no U-turn. You can also use it as a fun Sun Wallbreaker, though it doesn't hit THAT hard right out the gate.
Flavor: WIP

And for Enamorus, we have anaconja with Enamorus-Genbu!
:ss/enamorus-therian:
Name: Enamorus-Genbu
Original Pokémon: Enamorus
Typing: Fairy / Fire
Abilities: Gentei's Protection (This Pokemon is immune to indirect damage while Trick Room is active.)
Stats: 99 / 135 / 100 / 100 / 100 / 46 [580 BST]
New Moves: Moonlight, Flare Blitz, Fire Lash, Fire Fang, Flame Charge, Eruption, Overheat, Burn Up, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Lava Plume, Will-o-Wisp, Ancient Power, Trick Room, Coil
Springtide Storm | Fairy | Physical | 100 BP | 100% Accuracy | 10 PP | Resets Trick Room if this KOes the target.
Role: tr setter i love tr. also can be a fine defensive pivot
Flavor: lowkey just realized these mons are based off the four symbols but err theyre ass in smt v:v. Lol! anyway this is based on literally nothing bc i hate beaf cuitest

Yet another Sun abuser without a setter... at least Rain and Sand finally got setters. In other news, we've also got a small balance patch to announce!

:carracosta:
Carracosta
84 / 108 / 85 / 73 / 123 (-10) / 32
This mon's been choking out special attackers in the meta for a long time, and repeated buffs to other mons plus new additions with winning matchups into Carracosta have all failed to unseat it from its throne, so a nerf is in order.

:drednaw:
Drednaw-Abyss
-Dragon Tail

This mon is way too bulky to have access to phasing. It was a nightmare to handle in testing, so Dragon Tail is getting removed.

With the conclusion of Slate 17, we will now enter our last playtesting phase before the conclusion of the mod! This is so that we can prepare our resources for the upcoming Pet Mods Premier League, so any help with playtesting would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for contributing, and I'll see you for our final slate, Slate 18, after the conclusion of PMPL!

Hello chat. After testing, we've realized there's another nerf that definitely needs to happen before PMPL.

:slither-wing:
Combysa
85 / 85 / 85 / 115 (-10) / 79 / 91
This mon just hits way too hard right now. Teams without a Kabutops simply have no switchins for it, especially post-Carracosta nerf, and even Kabutops isn't a reliable answer to LO or Specs sets without running an Assault Vest. Less Special Attack will decrease the damage cap of those sets, hopefully flipping enough OHKOs into 2HKOs to balance it, while also making Scarf sets significantly less threatening.
