Introduction
The recent success of Bronzong Stall, Quagsire + Sinistcha Stall, and Ting-Lu Stall RMTs have caused an influx of people experimenting and learning how to play stall using these teams at all levels on the ladder. The meta since then has shifted into a place where Bulky Offenses and Balance are the strongest they've been throughout all of SVOU meta besides perhaps the dreaded post-Gliscor ban ZapKingLu era. Since then, teams featuring hazard stacking mons and multiple pivots but lacking top end immediate power have become very popular (Insert Ting-Lu + Ghost + Boots Zama team or U-Turn Knock Ogerpon-Wellspring team or SD gliscor team here). As such, a team that could keep up with fat set up as well as punish momentum teams became necessary.

Around the time when existing stall teams were becoming a bit stale, Storm Zone suggested Heatran as a potential stall mon. Following this, sire clod and myself set out to create a 6 that could work around Heatran. After testing a few structures, it became quickly apparent that Heatran made for an interesting mon that offered an incredible role compression that no other stall mon in gen 9 offered: Flame Body, Future Sight Absorber, a Stealth Rocker that scares out Corviknight, fantastic defensive typing, general bulk, and a mon that makes Weavile or Meowscarada think very carefully about clicking that one ice move into. Of course, Heatran does not have reliable recovery outside of rest, which makes a Wish Passer pretty much mandatory as a partner. Originally, Dondozo + Clefable were included on the team, but it seemed a bit passive with too many defensive holes, and Corviknight was placed in Clefs place to prioritize removal over a Knock absorber as the team has a way of actually pressuring Gholdengo defensively with Heatran. Heal Bell on Blissey was used to allow Heatran to click Rest liberally. However, this put way too much pressure on keeping Gliscor's Toxic Orb, which defeats half the purpose of having Gliscor as a Knock Absorber to begin with, so Heal Bell was removed and replaced with Calm Mind which in turn helps with the Gholdengo matchup. The final change was to remove Dondozo entirely and replace with Alomomola as a Physical Wall that also replaces Clefable as the wish pass support for Heatran, and the team was completed.

:Heatran:
Heatran in the past was thought of as an awkward fit on stall in gen 9 OU due to its lack of reliable recovery besides Rest. Unlike Ting-Lu or Dondozo, Heatran doesn't have the immense bulk that allows it to just sit in front of any mon while asleep. However, with Wish Support Heatran can find entry points into basically every mon in the tier that doesn't click a ground move. Heatran is the Stealth Rocker on this team and offers the unique role of being a Rocker that scares out Corviknight. This means Corv cannot come in hard on Stealth Rock to Pressure Stall its PP out of fear of being Will-O-Wisped or Lava Plumed, which is a huge boon for matchups vs fat teams with longevity that rely on Corv for removal.
Many previous Stall teams could struggle heavily with Meowscarada + Weavile on Hazard Stack teams, as the combination of Knock Off + strong Ice Move is not something that most Stall teams can easily switch into as the primary Knock Absorber in Gliscor doesn't want to take a Triple Axel, and this usually requires a tera to deal with (usually a Tera Steel Regenerator or Clefable). Flame Body Heatran gives this team a switch in to either move. Although Heatran does not necessarily want to lose its boots, the team has removal to mitigate the loss of its item as well as wish support, not to mention the fact that getting Weavile/Meowscarada burned is easily worth the trade without having to use up a Tera. Flame Body on a near fully physically defensive Heatran allows it to come in for free on Kingambit, which is why this team can afford to not run an Unaware physical mon like Dondozo and Quagsire, opting for Corviknight to handle Physical Setup after Heatran burns it. Heatran also offers emergency burn fishing options on Zamazenta as it lives a +1 Body Press from full. Aggressively doubling Heatran on predicted U-turns from mons like Waterpon or Dragapult can also punish Balance teams trying to gain momentum.
Heatrans typing and natural bulk also offers an additional switch in to special attackers like AV Slowking-G or Iron Crown or even Gholdengo in a pinch and can pressure back with Lava Plume. Heatran also gives a decent Hexpult switch in a few times, although it needs to be kept healthy.

:Blissey:
As usual, Calm Mind :Blissey: is the team’s primary special set-up wall.
Because :Heatran: runs Stealth Rock, :blissey: can opt for additional coverage instead of mono-Seismic Toss. Flamethrower was chosen to hit :Gholdengo: and punish physical attackers like :Kingambit: and :Great Tusk: that think they have a free switch-in to :Blissey:. It hits pretty hard after a few boosts and prevents :Blissey: from being completely passive against other Tera Ghost Pokémon. The 10% burn chance is an added bonus. Shadow Ball is also an option instead to hit various Tera Ghost Pokémon harder, such as :Raging-Bolt: and :Volcanion: at the cost of slightly reduced damage and no burn chance.

:Alomomola:
Alomomola is tasked with keeping everybody healthy with Wish Support. Even though Ogerpon-Wellspring is at roughly 200% usage, this team offers pretty good counterplay as Mola can wish up on the Pon switch and just switch hard into Hydrapple every time. Nothing new here as far as Stall is concerned, Mola is fat, lives every physical hit, can fish for Scald Burns, and pivots out. Big Pink Fish is the goat. Tera Fly is chosen to help out with Zamazenta and to be a Knock Absorber in Stall Mirrors.

:Hydrapple:
The previous Hydrapple stall RMT opted to use Sticky Hold and Tera Ice on Hydrapple as a designated Knock Absorber to pick up surprised KOs on Meow, Weavile or Gliscor with Body Press or Tera Blast. Hydrapple on this team plays a completely different role, as an offensive fatbreaker. This mon can match boosts with SD Gliscor, scares out Garganacl, and in general can trade most of its HP to kill basically any mon in the tier (for example Hydrapple can eat a Headlong Rush into Ice Spinner from max attack Tusk with ease and kill it with any move. Since this team has removal in Corviknight and Wish support in Mola and an aforementioned way to deal with Knock Off+ Ice coverage, the more greedy Regenerator is chosen over Sticky Hold. Tera Poison is used to avoid being poisoned as well as flipping matchups vs Primarina and Zapdos and helping out with Zamazenta.

:Gliscor:
:Gliscor: is another stall staple that needs little introduction. :Gliscor: excels in longer matchups by harassing passive and fatter teams to guarantee progress. However, unlike most stall teams, I have opted for a specially defensive spread. Without :Clodsire:, :Blissey: must run Calm Mind. Therefore it is not ideal to run Protect on :Blissey: for Future Sight. :Heatran: is also not the best choice for this role, as although it can manage as a Future Sight absorber with Protect, the damage can add up and Heatran wants the moveslot for something else anyways. Therefore, specially defensive :Gliscor: is the perfect choice. :Gliscor: already runs Protect by default, so there is no opportunity cost to include it here. 250 speed is ran on Gliscor to outspeed Raging Bolt to get a Toxic off before going to Blissey to wall it, which helps prevent Clod-less Stall from getting haxed thru by Raging Bolt. SpD Scor can also trade HP for Knock Off on HexPult, as it lives tera ghost Hex from full even from max spA Dragapult with ease.
Tera Steel was chosen to completely blank even Ice Beam :Slowking-Galar: or snipe a :Raging Bolt: that is about to use a Dragon-type move, and it is a solid defensive typing overall. Steel also helps with various special attackers that run Knock Off as a way of being a fat breaker, such as Darkrai, Boots Walking Wake, as well as helping get a Toxic off on Primarina who can threaten this team.

:Corviknight:
Without :Dondozo:, this team was missing a rock-solid counter to :Kingambit:. As previously mentioned, :Heatran: is able to easily deal with :Kingambit: as long as it is not Tera Fire, which allows Corv to safely Iron Defense up and handle it.
Tera Fighting was chosen to better match into Roaring Moon, which can be a giant threat for this team absent Dondozo, and boost Body Press damage. Heavy Duty Boots were also chosen to ensure that :Corviknight: always stays at full HP when switching around.

Threats
As I always say, although this team is very tough to beat, it is not unbeatable.
:Ursaluna:
:Roaring Moon:
Both Taunt Roaring Moon and the recently popular fat bulky Roost Roaring Moon sets present a giant threat for this team. For Taunt Moon you are likely forced to fish for burns with Scald with Mola or Plume + Flame Body on Heatran. Corviknight can handle Tera Ground Roaring Moon if it can manage to get an Iron Defense up to match boosts with Moon and stay out of KO range. Tera Fairy Moon can be a big issue but these usually do not run Taunt or EQ, opting for Roost + Tera Blast, so as long as they don't boost out of control they can be statused by Heatran or Gliscor. The main issue Roost Moon presents is that even a Burned Roaring Moon can chunk the team as there is no Dondozo or Quagsire.
:Hoopa-Unbound:
Not much needs to be said about :Hoopa-Unbound:. It is borderline unwallable and has been a massive threat to stall since the day it was released. Your best counterplay is statusing Hoopa with Gliscor or Heatran, or catching Hoopa with Tera Fight Body Press with Corv if it is low enough.
:Ursaluna:
It's an Ursaluna. You don't have a switch in. Get Corv in and try to trade. This team is better vs Luna than most Stall teams as mons like Hydrapple can eat a hit and trade, Heatran can tera ghost and Plume, and Idef Corv beats it if its in front of it already.
:Haxorus:
It's a Haxorus. Your opponent is a bot for loading this. Also just burn it/tox it twice since any noob that loads this mon obviously has Lum Berry on it.
:Zamazenta:
Basically any physical set-up mon that can Tera Fire presents a huge threat to this team due to the reliance of Heatran burns to make them more manageable for Mola/Scor/Corv. Tera Fire Iron Defense Zama can basically only be handed by either Terastallizing Alomomola into a Flying-Type and trying to stall out Body Presses between itself and Gliscor, or by Teraing Hydrapple into a poison type to 1v1.
:Gholdengo:
Cheap mon, any setup variant with a fatbusting tech+tera (Tera Fight Focus Blast, Tera Fairy Dazzling Gleam + Psyshock, Tera Steel Modest with a boosting item etc) is pretty much unbeatable without getting Lava Plume burn on your first try.

I normally like to keep this positive but unfortunately there is a pressing situation I have to make an announcement about. This is a two part post with the other being in the metagame discussion thread and linked here https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/sv-ou-metagame-discussion-v4.3732644/post-10430349

I'm sure many of you are aware of the situation as to what happened recently in the former stall discord, but I needed to make a statement regarding it

Thank you everyone for bearing with me. I want to say that I was just as shocked as you all to learn what happened today.

First and foremost, I know people will be upset with me no matter what side I take, but I think it needs to be said that the values upheld by Trump and MAGA are incompatible with those of Big Stall. In order to make this a harmonious community where people are encouraged to contribute, politics of any kind cannot be allowed.

Those of you who know me will know that I have spent months trying to reform this place and change it for the better, and thankfully many of you have cooperated with my efforts. This is why I was so disappointed to see that the former server owner, someone who had invited me into this community and someone I had respected, go behind my back and make a post like that for a mere $50.

To see months of hard work spent on building this community undermined in an instant like that is beyond frustrating and it’s not something I can stand for. The spirit of Big Stall is and should always be on Pokémon first, and I can no longer say that about that server. That is why I have decided I will be leaving that server to start anew. I would like to invite you all to join me in rebuilding the brand new Stall Discord where we will ensure the safety and integrity of the server are the highest priority. I do not know what will happen to that server, but I know the Stall community will come back from this. After all, it’s the people like you that make this place what it is. It’s with a heavy heart that I leave that server, but I hope that I will see all of you in the new server. I would also suggest you leave the older server as I am no longer responsible for and cannot condone what goes on in it anymore.

We will still have all the resources, including:
- NEW FREE Tutoring for OU (Stall and Non-Stall)
- Replay Review - (Most recently helped TheColorRed gain 300+ ELO in under a month)
- Team Rating
- OU Sample Teams
- The Stall Bible and Stall OU VR

Finally, as part of the grand opening we will be hosting a Gen 9 OU tournament with a $100 prize to the winner. Join the server for more details:

Many thanks to everyone in the New Stall Discord and Community. Everyone there is super helpful and passionate about Pokémon which in turn motivates me to build teams and ladder.

In particular, big thanks to sire clod for helping me build & ladder with this team and write this RMT.
Finally, while this RMT is a great starting point, it is far from comprehensive. Feel free to ask me any questions about the team or specific matchups in the comments or on Discord. The link to the NEW Stall Discord is here: https://discord.gg/C8ZD8ex72F

Bro since when did stall get this creative? Anyways, why did you with 16 ELO less get a rank 2 spots above me ):. Nice job tho
Also in the peak replay Heatran is tera dark but in the rmt you only mention tera ghost?

Oops, I switched around the teras a few times so I have a few versions, originally I had a more spD tran with tera dark for Gambit and stuff but it already owns gambit hard enough so we made it physDef and changed tera for zama/tusk

I played this team yesterday, now I know where it’s from. I think helmet corv is better here and maybe adding something else for gambit insurance.

This team makes me despise will-o-wisp accuracy as I have missed every single wisp against all kyurem and flame body being unreliable. However the team farms elo when u don't eat a boosted crit with corv or bliss (every stall ever). Good against low-mid ladder lokix land
