Pelipper is a staple pick on rain teams thanks to its ability, Drizzle. Its physical bulk combined with Scald lets it check and potentially cripple foes such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Scizor, and Great Tusk. Hurricane is an alternative to Defog on teams that use Tornadus-T for entry hazard control, which offers better neutral coverage and the ability to hit foes such as Tangrowth and Tera Grass Heatran. Pelipper also operates as a slow pivot with U-turn, which is greatly appreciated by the team's wallbreakers to ensure that they can enter the field safely. Tera Ground offers an Electric immunity for threats such as Tapu Koko, whereas Tera Steel offers a strong defensive typing, letting Pelipper check Pokemon like Extreme Speed Dragonite in a pinch. As the premier rain setter, Pokemon that rely on rain to boost their power or operate effectively within it, such as Mega Swampert, Floatzel, Barraskewda, and Urshifu-R, make for common teammates. Mega Swampert offers a valuable Electric immunity for Pelipper, checking foes such as Tapu Koko. Tornadus-T can provide entry hazard control with Defog, letting Pelipper enter the field and summon rain without having to fear taking hazard damage. Ferrothorn takes advantage of Pelipper's typing and ability to form a solid defensive core and provide a robust blanket check for opposing rain. In return, Pelipper alleviates Ferrothorn's massive Fire weakness by setting rain, and it can check threats that Ferrothorn fails to cover, such as Mega Lopunny.

Pelipper is a staple pick on rain teams thanks to its Drizzle ability. Summoning Rain allows teammates such as Mega Swampert, Floatzel and Urshifu to force progress against opponents with heavy hitting Rain boosted attacks. BARRASKEWDA MENTION HIM HERE TOO!!! arguably one of the biggest factors for rain's dominance in its speed + literal insane power asw Its physical bulk combined with access to Scald allows it to check and potentially cripple opponents such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Scizor and Great Tusk. It also provides hazard control with Defog, as well as alongside Roost to improve its longevity and check threats long-term. (changed to period) however being forced to take chip damage from Stealth Rocks each time it clears hazards can hurt its longevity. reword this to specifically mention damp rock's positive's and then mention the rocks weakness before tera Roost allows Pelipper to stay healthy throughout a match so it can summon Rain several times and offer pivoting support. Hurricane is an alternative option to Defog on teams that already have hazard control, only other hazard control u run is torn so specifically mention that which offers better neutral coverage and the ability to hit opponents such as Tangrowth or Tera Grass Heatran. Pelipper also provides pivoting support with U-turn for teammates that appreciate not taking chip damage such as the previously mentioned Floatzel and Barraskewda. Pelipper will rarely use Terastal since teammates such as Floatzel or Barraskewda rely on it to enable their wallbreaking capabilities. If it needs to, however, Ground and Steel Terastal offer an electric immunity and useful resistances to threats like Extreme Speed from Dragonite mention an electric type w/o strong super effective coverage like koko to justify the "respectively" after this part of the sentence respectively if Pelipper does need to use Terastal in a pinch. Pokemon that can abuse rain such as the previously mentioned Mega Swampert as well as Tornadus-T and Manaphy appreciate Pelipper setting rain for them. Mega Swampert also offers a valuable electric immunity for Pelipper to ward off opponents such as Tapu Koko which Pelipper can struggle against. Tornadus-T can provide hazard control with Defog, which Pelipper appreciates since it can summon rain more consistently during a match without being forced to heal off Stealth Rock chip damage. Pelipper has poor special bulk, so it appreciates Ferrothorn checking special attackers that would cause problems for Pelipper such as Tapu Lele or Rotom-W. Kyurem. In return Pelipper handles threats like Mega Lopunny which Ferrothorn would struggle against and provides Rain to alleviate Ferrothorn's massive Fire weakness.

Pelipper is a staple pick on rain teams thanks to its Drizzle ability [reorder: "ability, Drizzle"]. Summoning Rain allows teammates such as Mega Swampert, Floatzel, Urshifu and Barraskewda to force progress against opponents with heavy hitting Rain boosted attacks [unnecessary fluff, can be removed]. Its physical bulk, combined with access to Scald, allows for it to check and potentially cripple opponents such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Scizor and Great Tusk. It also provides hazard control with Defog, as well as Roost to improve its longevity and check threats long-term [again unnecessary, Defog + Roost functionality is renown]. Damp Rock allows Rain provided by Pelipper to last longer so its teammates have more turns to abuse its effects [can be omitted, Damp Rock functionality is also commonly known]. This means that Pelipper is weak to Stealth Rocks without Terastal, so taking chip damage each time it clears hazards can hurt its longevity [fluff, can be removed]. Hurricane is an alternative option to Defog on teams that use Tornadus-T for hazard control, which offers better neutral coverage and the ability to hit opponents such as Tangrowth or Tera Grass Heatran. Pelipper also provides pivoting support [replace with "operates as a slow pivot"] with access to U-turn, for teammates that appreciate not taking chip damage [reword as "which is greatly appreciated by the team's breakers to ensure that they can enter the field safely"] such as the previously mentioned Floatzel and Barraskewda [redundant]. Pelipper will rarely use Terastal, since [replace with "as"] teammates such as Floatzel or Barraskewda rely on it to enable their wallbreaking capabilities [redundant]. If it needs to, however, Ground and Steel Terastal offer an electric immunity and useful resistances for threats like Tapu Koko or Extreme Speed from Dragonite respectively [should restructure to place the mention of Koko next to Tera Ground, and mention of Dnite next to Tera Steel: "Ground Terastal offers an electric immunity for threats such as Tapu Koko, whereas Steel Terastal offers a strong defensive typing that can check the likes of Extreme Speed Dragonite"] if Pelipper does need to use Terastal in a pinch. Pokemon that can abuse rain such as the previously mentioned Mega Swampert as well as Tornadus-T and Manaphy appreciate Pelipper setting rain for them [Should restructure as "As the premier rain-setter, Pokemon that rely on rain and/or operate effectively within it, such as Mega Swampert, Floatzel/Barraskewda and Urshifu-R [specify that they use rain + tera water to boost their power levels to absurd levels] make for common teammates"]. Mega Swampert also [replace with "additionally"] offers a valuable electric immunity for Pelipper to ward off [replace with "which helps check"] opponents such as Tapu Koko which Pelipper can struggle against [remove, Koko was previously mentioned as a threat]. Tornadus-T can provide hazard control with Defog, which Pelipper appreciates since [replace with "so that"] it can summon rain more consistently during a match without being forced to heal off Stealth Rock chip damage [a little verbose, replace with "without having to fear taking hazard damage when it enters the the field"]. Pelipper has poor special bulk [replace], so it appreciates Ferrothorn checking special attackers that would otherwise cause problems for Pelipper, such as Tapu Lele or Rotom-W [Ferrothorn does less in this metagame checking Special Attackers compared to last gen. Instead of discussing special attackers it checks for Pelipper, discuss how physdef ferro provides a robust blanket check for rain, where it can take advantage of Pelipper's ability and defensive typing to form a solid defensive core]. In return Pelipper handles threats like Mega Lopunny which Ferrothorn would struggle against and provides Rain to alleviate Ferrothorn's massive Fire weakness [reorder: "alleviates Ferrothorn's massive Fire weakness by setting Rain, and can check threats that Ferrothorn fails to cover, such as Mega Lopunny"].
