PU Perrserker [GP 1/1]

[OVERVIEW]

Boasting a high Attack stat, two abilities that boost its damage output even further, and access to moves like Seed Bomb and Close Combat to shred the likes of Quagsire and Ferroseed, Perrserker is a very powerful wallbreaker in PU with very few safe switch-ins. In combination with its natural immunity to Toxic and sand damage, this makes for a Pokemon adept at shredding defensive cores. However, Perrserker is very slow for an offensive Pokemon, leaving it outrun and dispatched by many offensive Pokemon such as Charizard, Gallade, Archeops, and Lycanroc. This gives it a much tougher matchup against faster, more offensive teams. Its special bulk is also very lacking, so Pokemon like Galarian Articuno and Ribombee can still heavily damage Perrserker, even though it resists their STAB moves—despite being a Steel-type, Perrserker doesn't contribute much defensive value to your team.

[SET]
name: Swords Dance

move 3: Seed Bomb
move 4: Substitute
item: Leftovers
ability: Steely Spirit
nature: Adamant

[SET COMMENTS]

Swords Dance lets Perrserker break through most of PU's defensive Pokemon. Seed Bomb hits the Water-types that resist Iron Head, 2HKOing Quagsire and, after Swords Dance, OHKOing Lanturn and 2HKOing Jellicent. Substitute allows Perrserker to set up on weak walls like Ferroseed and Tangela, as well as dodging Weezing and Jellicent's Will-O-Wisp. Steely Spirit boosts Iron Head's power to massive levels, allowing it to 2HKO Weezing and Tangela at +2. Fire-types like Charizard and Centiskorch are highly problematic for this set, so Rock-types like Regirock and Gigalith are great teammates for checking them. Both can also set Stealth Rock for Perrserker. Charizard can scorch the Steel-types that wall this set like Ferroseed and defensive Togedemaru, and it appreciates Perrserker smashing the aforementioned Rock-types, as well as KOing Lanturn and Jellicent. Spikes setters like Garbodor and Qwilfish can help give Perrserker an easier time wallbreaking—one layer of Spikes guarantees an OHKO on Regirock with a +2 Iron Head. Both can also switch into the Fighting-types Perrserker is weak to, such as Scrafty. Fast cleaners like Archeops and Ribombee can take advantage of the holes Perrserker can punch in teams.

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Iron Head
move 2: Close Combat
move 3: Seed Bomb
move 4: U-turn / Double-Edge
item: Choice Band
ability: Tough Claws / Steely Spirit
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Close Combat hits opposing Steel-types such as Aggron and Ferroseed, OHKOing the former and 2HKOing the latter. Seed Bomb hits the Water-types that resist Perrserker's STAB Iron Head, OHKOing Quagsire and 2HKOing Jellicent. U-turn allows Perrserker to scout switch-ins and safely bring in a teammate. Double-Edge OHKOes Charizard and Centiskorch on the switch if running Tough Claws, two Pokemon that otherwise switch into Perrserker with ease. Tough Claws is the preferred ability on this set, as it powers up all of Perrserker's moves bar Seed Bomb. Steely Spirit can still be used, as it allows Perrserker to 2HKO Sandaconda and Palossand with a slightly stronger Iron Head. This set serves the dual roles of wallbreaker and offensive pivot. Against more defensive teams, Perrserker can use its massive power to smash defensive Pokemon like Regirock and Gigalith, as well as switching into predicted Stealth Rock and Toxic. Against offensive teams, it's best used to check physically frail Pokemon like Galarian Articuno and Ribombee, and it can use the forced switches to safely bring in a teammate with U-turn or fire off a strong attack. Fast Pokemon like Archeops and Choice Specs Ribombee are good teammates to threaten the more offensive teams Perrserker struggles with, while Perrserker can threaten the bulkier teams they struggle with. They all also appreciate the free switches Perrserker can give them with U-turn.

[OVERVIEW]

Boasting a high Attack stat and two excellent abilities that boost its damage output further, Perrserker is a powerful wallbreaker in the PU metagame. It excels in shredding defensive cores, as it can hit most of PU walls for super effective damage i mean yes but also has an absurd amount of power with steely spirits, maybe reword this to emphasize how coverage is more of a bonus than necessity, and its Steel typing prevents them from wearing it down with Sandstorm and Toxic can just combine w first sentence. Perrserker is quite slow for an offensive Pokemon, however, so it struggles against more offensive teams. Its special bulk is also lacking, so Pokemon like Articuno-Galar and Ribombee can still heavily damage Perrserker despite it resisting their STABs. Fire-types like Charizard and Centiskorch can counter it easily as well. i think you can expand a little bit on the struggling against offensive teams and flow easier into the checked by zard point w/ it (before the steel but no defensive utility)

move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Seed Bomb
move 4: Close Combat / Substitute
item: Lum Berry / Leftovers / Life Orb
ability: Steely Spirit

[SET COMMENTS]

Swords Dance boosts Perrserker's Attack stat by 2 stages, letting it break through most of PU's defensive Pokemon. Seed Bomb hits the Water-types like? that resist Iron Head. Close Combat hits opposing Steel types such as Ferroseed and Aggron. Substitute can be run instead to allow Perrserker to set up on Ferroseed, Weezing without a Fire attack flamethrower weezing is like nonexistent, comment on avoiding willo specifically and other weak walls like Pyukumuku pyuku wins that's its niche, could mention scouting. Lum Berry is preferred with 3 attacks, as it lets Perrserker stay in and beat Jellicent and Weezing, who could otherwise cripple it with Will-o-Wisp. Leftovers provides extra longevity, and should be used if you run Substitute to replenish HP lost it. Lastly, Life Orb grants a large boost to power at the cost of longevity. Steely Spirit is the chosen ability for the extra power it grants Iron Head prolly better toward the start. Seed Bomb doesn't make contact, and Close Combat still KOs all it needs to after a Swords Dance anyway.

This set is best used to tear through walls like Ferroseed, Jellicent, Quagsire and Sandaconda. Try to set up on Pokemon that can't damage Perrserker much, like Comfey and Garbodor, or Pokemon weak to Steel like Ribombee. If running Substitute, starting with that is often better than Swords Dance, as if your opponent switches in an offensive check like Charizard, Perrserker can still get a hit off before being forced out. this paragraph is kinda eh, try to merge relevant information to the main one after adjusting for moveset tweaks
mention teammates for perr as well

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Iron Head
move 2: Close Combat
move 3: Seed Bomb
move 4: U-turn / Double Edge this OHKOs charizard, mention this calc below
item: Choice Band
ability: Tough Claws / Steely Spirit

[SET COMMENTS]

Close Combat hits opposing Steel-types such as Aggron and Ferroseed, while also hitting bulky Normal-types like Audino. Seed Bomb hits the Water-types that resist Perrserker's STAB Iron Head, OHKOing Quagsire and 2HKOing Jellicent and Lanturn. U-turn allows Perrserker to scout switch ins and safely bring in a teammate. mention d edge Tough Claws is the preferred ability on this set, as it powers up Close Combat and U-turn in exchange for a slightly weaker Iron Head. Steely Spirit can still be used, as it allows Perrserker to 2HKO Sandaconda, Pallosand and Weezing with Iron Head.

This set serves the double role of wallbreaker and offensive pivot. Against more defensive teams, Perrserker can use its massive power to smash defensive Pokemon like Regirock, Gigalith and Ferroseed. Against offensive teams, it's best used to check physically frail Pokemon like Galarian Articuno and Ribombee, and use the forced switches to safely bring in a teammate with U-turn or fire off a strong attack.
merge these paragraphs
mention teammates

[OTHER OPTIONS]

Crunch is boosted by Tough Claws, and hits Jellicent and Pallosand for super effective damage. However, both commonly run Colbur Berry. An Assault Vest might seem tempting to patch up Perrserker's poor Special bulk, but it loses so much power it's not worth it. Such a set also finds itself worn down far too quickly.

Swords Dance lets Perrserker break through most of PU's defensive Pokemon. Seed Bomb hits the Water-types that resist Iron Head, 2HKOing Jellicent and OHKOing Lanturn after Swords Dance. (absolutely mention quagsire here somewhere, being able to get past it is huge for you.) Substitute allows Perrserker to set up on weak walls like Ferroseed and Tangela, and let it dodge Weezing and Jellicent's Will-o-Wisp. Steely Spirit boosts Iron Head to massive levels, allowing it to 2HKO Weezing and Tangela at +2. Leftovers provides extra longevity, helping restore the health lost through Substitute. (this doesn't really feel necessary to explain now that it's the only option imo.) Fire-types like Charizard and Centiskorch are highly problematic for this set, so Rock-types like Regirock and Gigalith are great teammates for their ability to check them. Both can also set Stealth Rock for Perrserker. Charizard can scorch the Steel-types that wall this set like Ferroseed and defensive Togedemaru, and appreciates Perrserker's ability to smash the aforementioned Rock types as well as lure and KO Lanturn and Jellicent. Spike setters like Garbodor and Qwilfish can help give Perrserker an easier time breaking - 1 layer of Spikes guarantees a OHKO on Regirock with a +2 Iron Head. Both can also switch into the Fighting-types Perrserker is weak to. (give a specific example of a fighting-type here.) Fast cleaners like Archeops and Ribombee can take advantage of the holes Perrserker can punch in teams.

U-turn allows Perrserker to scout switch ins and safely bring in a teammate. Double-Edge OHKOes Charizard and Centiskorch on the switch (only if you're tough claws, worth pointing out.), which could otherwise switch into Perrserker with ease. Tough Claws is the preferred ability on this set, as it powers up Close Combat, U-turn and Double-Edge in exchange for a slightly weaker Iron Head. Steely Spirit can still be used, as it allows Perrserker to 2HKO Sandaconda and Pallosand with Iron Head. This set serves the double role of wallbreaker and offensive pivot. Against more defensive teams, Perrserker can use its massive power to smash defensive Pokemon like Regirock and Gigalith. (you also have more opportunities to come in on certain stuff, like a predicted toxic or stealth rock.) Against offensive teams, it's best used to check physically frail Pokemon like Galarian Articuno and Ribombee, and use the forced switches to safely bring in a teammate with U-turn or fire off a strong attack. Offense killers like Archeops and Choice Specs Rimbombee Ribombee are good choices to threaten the more offensive teams (redundant to say this after calling these examples "offense killers".) (on that note, you could probably replace "offense killers" with "pokemon". on top of dealing with the redundancy i mentioned, it's also more formal.) Perrserker struggles with, while Perrserker can threaten the bulkier teams they struggle with. They all also appreciate the free switches Perrserker can give them with U-turn.
