[Overview]

Persian is definitely a underused pokemon in RU. However Persian is still by all means usable if played correctly. It has a swift base speed of 115 that already leaves out speeding a majority of the tier. Persian due to its high caliber of speed makes it an excellent taunt user. Persian can play a variety of roles and has several options to use. It also has the very useful ability of Technician. Many of Persians key moves can make good use of the ability. Persian however is not this undiscovered jewel of RU. It has terribly frail defenses that let it fall to almost every attack. Persian is not a massive hard hitter so you may find many pokemon being able to endure its attack and strike back for the KO. Also Persians most susceptible from any thing that can out speed it either Priority users or Scarfed pokemon.

[SET]
name: Physical Attacker
move 1: Fake Out
move 2: Return / Bite
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Taunt
item: Life Orb
ability: Technician
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
[Set Comments]
Persian has access to two great moves that really define this set; Fake out and Taunt. The Physical Attacker set also makes for a good scouter. Fake Out is for free damage at a start off and is boosted by Technician. Return and Bite is basically Persian's main attacking moves. Return is for basic coverage and STAB boost. However Bite has several positive points if you use it. It lets you hit Haunter and Golurk while receiving a Technician boost. U-Turn is another element that adds to Persian's scouting capabilities. Taunt finally is for stopping set up or hazards from being set up.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

One should be cautious in using Persian straight on. Persians lack defensive capabilities and won't be able to take much hits. Persian should be most played offensively as a revenge killer KOing weakened pokemon. The EVs are pretty straight forward used to maximize Speed and Attack.

In order to use Persian to full potential Persian needs the right set of teammates that can support it. Moltres finds best use of Persian due to being able to Taunt Stealth Rocks away. Also any fighting type moves directed at Persian can absorbed by Moltres. Basically any team that has a weakness to hazards but can't afford a place for a rapid spinner on their team would love to have Persian.

[Set]
Name: Nasty Plotter
Move1: Nasty Plot
Move2: Swift
Move3: Thunderbolt / Power Gem
Move4: Water Pulse
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Technician
Nature: Timid
Evs: 252 SpAtk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
[ Set Comments]

Persian ca also find it self as a viable threat on the Special Spectrum. Persian has a fairly decent range of moves for coverage and get some of the Technician boosted. Persians Special Attack is only slightly lower than its attack but with Nasty Plot it or two it can soar to dangerous levels. Swift is Persians 60 STAB and Technician boosted move and gains the niche of not missing. Thunderbolt is for coverage and lets it take down key threats as Evolite Frillish and Crawduant. Water Pulse is Technician boosted and lets it take down most Rock and Ground types with relative ease.

[ Additional Comments]

The EVs are again straight forward boosting Speed and Special Attack for most effectiveness.
Rock Gem may be used over Thunderbolt. Thus it able to target Flying and Bug types prominent in RU. HP rock may used to get a Technician boost but must run negative Speed IVs making it lose speed wars with same base speed pokemon.

Hazard set ups is one of the most key concepts of making the set successful. Having Hazard damage already set out makes Persain offensive endeavors much easier.

[Other Option]

Persians has several other options it can fill it self into that may be needed for a specific team. One of the first is Persian capabilities to act as a weather summoner. Other moves also make use of Persian's Technician ability such as Aerial Ace and Icy Wind which also lowers speed. Foul Play may be used instead of Bite due to it being stronger how it loses on its flinching capabilities. Knock off can take down Evolite user and makes sweeping much easier . Switcheroo can be used to cripple the opponent with Chice items, Flame Orb, or Toxic Orb.

[Checks and Counters]

Persian is in no way a difficult task to counter if prepared for properly. Persian falls extremely weak to priority move. Without persian speed being of any use for priority attacks, the first hit Persian takes may as well be its last without a focus sash. Scarfed users also are a large counter, out speed our cat is certainly a pet peeve for it that leaves it KOed.
Not only this but anything with a decent walking capabilities can Wall and KO Persian. Only way persian perhaps can fight back to walls is Taunt and Knock off.
