Project Personal OU Viability Rankings

Saw some people doing their own VRs and thought why not doing mine, based from the original VR and doing my own changes to it. This list is also organized from best to worst in their respectives subranks.

:glaceon: This is all, I probably missed some, there are some mons I think are underrated, others that I added that weren't on the VR and some I eliminated because they are terrible. If you dont agree with this list you are nitpicking an biased, I win bye bye :glaceon:

People seem to be reviving this thing so out of boredom, Imma do mine. Only the A ranks will be arranged on which I think are the most viable which means that the S and B ranks won't be. Also, I'm only gonna do until B- since I don't have enough experience with the mons in the C ranks

hi (changes i made are colored blue. do note that this is subject to change maybe probably)

S Rank:

S

598.png

Ferrothorn (such an insanely versatile gluemon rn, fantastic defensive stats and typing let it check off a number of difficult-to-check boxes and leech gives it solid longevity + spikes let it enable a plethora of scary breakers, off the top of my head there's lele and defiant mons but there are a ton of mons that benefit from added pressure on pretty much any grounded defensive mon lacking boots and ferrothorn is the easiest to justify out of all the viable spikers by a mile)

645-t.png

Landorus-Therian

S-

887.png

Dragapult

485.png

Heatran

641-t.png

Tornadus-Therian (fuck kart)

461.png

Weavile
(still really strong)

A Rank:

A+

646.png

Kyurem

199-g.png

Slowking-Galar

788.png

Tapu Fini

785.png

Tapu Koko

786.png

Tapu Lele (specs hits absurdly hard and scarf is a fantastic revenger/cleaner)

748.png

Toxapex

892.png

Urshifu-R (idk why this mon dropped its still annoying af to prep for)

A

445.png

Garchomp

798.png

Kartana

462.png

Magnezone

809.png

Melmetal

494.png

Victini (has 5 billion sets and pretty decent defensive utility)

Zeraora

Arctozolt

794.png

Buzzwole

635.png

Hydreigon

038-a.png

Ninetales-Alola

479-w.png

Rotom-Wash
(really good at maintaining momentum being a volt switcher that abuses grounds and all + wisp twave defog pain split are good moves)

080.png

Slowbro

637.png

Volcarona

145.png

Zapdos (idk why this dropped)

145-g.png

Zapdos-Galar
(could this stay b+? eh probably but banded +2 cc is really funny)

B Rank:

B+

847.png

Barraskewda (feel like the current VR underrates rain a bit)

625.png

Bisharp

806.png

Blacephalon

036.png

Clefable (don't really feel like this mon is on par with the rest of A atm, it compresses a lot of valuable roles on fatter builds for sure but dual steel being everywhere this mon having moveslot issues and just fat as a whole not being in a great spot rn make clef harder to justify than ever)

149.png

Dragonite

423-e.png

Gastrodon

450.png

Hippowdon

146-g.png

Moltres-Galar

034.png

B

681.png

242.png

Blissey (kyurem being arguably banworthy does not change the fact that this mon is hopelessly passive)

701.png

Hawlucha

151.png

Mew

537.png

Seismitoad (cool on rain)

642-t.png

Thundurus-Therian (also cool on rain)

Kommo-o

Alakazam (lelezam is fun)

342.png

Crawdaunt

880.png

Dracozolt (when the grounds are specially defensive)

530.png

Excadrill (mediocre sweeper, fake steel, ground that sucks vs zera, bad removal/rocker. at least it has access to spin i suppose)

488.png

Cresselia

094.png

Gengar

896.png

Glastrier (gargantuan bulk, great coverage, and sky-high attack equate to this mon being a threat in its own right, even if its speed is balls)

19387BF6-96FC-4724-BB44-293CDBF58F7A.png
(More support heavy this time around cuz of Dnite, Tran, and Volcanion)

B
8D68038A-D934-4A6E-BB71-8956085506EF.png
(Too much Ferro, heavily prediction reliant, but still can break shit)

964B3088-C18E-45F8-A72C-6C352FC74CD8.png
(Automize Cele is surprisingly cracked now that it can actually beat Zapdos)

(Decent rocker and short term check to several threats)
9DB2D900-5841-42AB-914B-C3DB6802BAAF.png
(Volcanion that checks Tran/Weavile/Urshifu, and provides momentum)

(Forcing switch ins = Free Spin)
874A9203-ABCD-42F3-A425-2D1B2BAEA8E8.png
(No defensive utility, outclassed by Scarf Kart, U-Turn is still nice tho)
63523A1D-9A6C-4157-8E77-71C6A881A629.png
(Checks grounds and Weavile, sets spikes but lacks Knock)
D3F4C03E-3F91-49C6-A6CB-90CB2FDD0872.png

(Double Dance, overs alot of defensive utility while checking Volc/Tran)
D60D14F9-8D10-42DC-941B-6F229EDDAC3C.png
(Lele that has longevity and checks Volcanion/Tran)
9BBD18F0-D7DA-41B7-8CD2-A3AAF2FC3024.png

637D7C60-7D05-486A-80D7-161744555ADB.png
(Air Balloon Tran, and Volcarona check with offensive power)
A73AC904-E600-4E98-9EA4-B57272448662.png

81B8A27A-F9F1-474F-A63F-B212F9842281.png
(More difficult to setup in this meta)
12561BAC-001B-43B5-9F01-930D004A2731.png
(It really wishes Kyurem was here rn)
E0A3EC11-791C-4CB0-B428-7CBE2FB7224E.png
(Checks Kart, and Urshifu, walls Ferro, cripples things with Knock and Sleep)
61DAC83A-5A23-42C1-962E-08DED5988094.png
(Sun is scarier than people think)
F5219B35-AE16-4653-B37E-88EC149C8659.png
(The Sun is a deadly laser)

C
7AFB1644-9933-4E31-BE10-A0D17C1D8C03.png
(Don’t use this as your only hazard remover on stall)
5C1E2D9D-7712-451D-B565-16F9F65FEC23.png
(Good on paper, mediocre in practice)
5298167F-8489-42E0-AD10-E8BDBB9EFC13.png
(4x weak nuker in Sun)
3C6C1E84-9B18-429F-9D5E-0FBA10F3E0CD.png
(Breedable)
1152BE38-3B95-4390-A310-99FC27AE70BC.png
(Not good these days but it can still break things)
42F1CC98-F907-4EEE-99CE-7F676DB0EE65.png
(Willem DaGrimm)
B6CBB001-CEEB-496F-84BC-71DD20BC4AA9.png
(Not being 4x weak to Ice Shard means it could catch teams offguard)
ECFC629B-5152-44A5-AF59-309C63C62706.png
(Immune to Sball, Zap check, and Water Immune on Rain)
E15D7E39-5B30-4B52-BC4F-4456C4762B02.png
(Has too many checks for the small upside of switching into Blace, and Volcanion)
5A25CD39-6B91-4EEB-8329-3DAFB6B2F34B.png
(Very MU specific, but destroys stall and fatter archetypes, counters Volc)
2200AAE3-1195-4374-8A9D-27F7B15B3605.png
(Its only purpose is to wall Lele)
1303A8BB-EAA0-4F63-B82C-810E37C2A9A3.png
(Here because of the fact that it doesn’t fear Static or Barbs/Helmet unlike Shifu)
EFD6031E-2CB2-4526-8DC9-B91E49843001.png
(Swift Swim abuser that outspeeds Scarf Kart not much else here)
426C119D-EC01-4947-81F3-A0DE587156F0.png
(Very specific niche in rain. Otherwise don’t use)
2CCFB5B5-40CB-4399-BA97-1680CF42103E.png
(Rkilled by priority and Scarfers, but the lack of ghost resists in the meta helps)
1CC06EE5-3FBD-4413-812A-09423E65EE77.png
(No defensive utility but it nukes tf out of everything so its here)
04A250CA-06DA-4BAF-B9E8-EFB194502BC4.png
(Awkward 4mss makes it very awkward to use over something like Tran)
ECF6E842-01AE-4906-BA82-BA7139F1B6D1.png
(Stall mon that hard counters Lele/Urshifu/Koko, bad against everything else)
26A91E68-3CEF-47F9-8798-4248D9FF028D.png
(Niche Urshifu)
98E23623-46E1-4645-8898-6D3F0345B9F6.png
(Breaker on rain that is immune to both grounds and volt switch)
560ADD5E-249B-4489-8659-3E7240D6249F.png
(The “2HKOs Lando” thing is already filled by Zapdos. Flimsily check to Koko)
B496595C-B207-42ED-9754-597097883FDD.png
(Your only using this on Shed stall, therefore it should be ranked next to it)

Unranked
7200F914-AF4E-49BC-8610-81004C70A037.png
(Use Tangrowth)
869D284D-052E-4761-BEDF-60589E150117.png
(Requires too much support and even then it gets walled by Buzz)
7FB10C1D-0638-4060-BAD1-E34FEE30E246.png
(TR died once Melm existed)
912B900C-5B48-4A58-A62A-6E96F9401A33.png
(Funny but also Tini can do the same thing while not killing itself)
CF032CFE-CC02-4EC5-AAED-0F73997863C5.png
(Just use Aegislash, Blacephalon, or Pult)
DCEC2A1F-DFE1-469E-B369-9FD0021B2B76.png
(Someone ranked it here and no one ever used it since)
B8738179-4BED-4171-9F56-48E32A9A805E.png
(The best TR lead, but the playstyle is dead, not like it was thriving)
3CF50597-F309-4675-AB10-6ECFF633C2FF.png
(Almost half of the entire metagame beats it)
1A8016BD-D239-4F10-A1DE-F872B4740A22.png
(No longer the unwallable menace of before thanks to Buzz)
DBF58B0A-7BD6-4448-A408-0D01772FCE4E.png
(Remember when ppl thought this mon was gonna be good)
21AC049B-0220-486E-9412-B20BB8F46237.png
(TR is doo doo)
72E1BB50-8A5D-4544-9D2B-322DD7E90CA7.png
(Physical attackers in the meta have too much raw power for it to handle)
0FCC2128-7755-4D81-B982-6B161C4C1904.png
(With Boots, priority, hazard removal and BO, nobody gives a shit about webs)
B5BA2443-5900-49C6-ABFE-5C530A446859.png
(See Ribombee)
8049B744-C1BD-49D2-AECD-959E2BF4685F.png
(Be honest, has anyone ever used this in a serious game?)
6C59793A-2FA9-4FF0-88F0-5A295D389C91.png
(In a meta where Zapdos and Koko are everywhere, just use Goltres)
B7099D94-54E4-45BD-871F-F57C5388916B.png
(Beats Ferro and Demon Mew, thats it)

Mons not ordered within their respective tiers, mons not in B- and above are mons that I think have fun niches in ou, and may not include every mon worthy of the vr
mons that I feel need explaining will have one of these spoiler boxes for explanation

S
The best of the best, not necessarily ban worthy, but at the forefront of the metagame and needs a check/counter on the majority of teams
S+
n/a
S
:weavile::landorus-therian::heatran:
:dragapult:
This boy is still going strong in the current state of SS OU, specs has lost out but other sets I feel have gotten better, and with mixed sets seeing more usage I don't see dragapult ever dropping out of top 5
S-
:toxapex:
Sponges every single neutral unboosted hit in the metagame, along with several boosted ones, a quality made more pronounced by its lack of 4x weaknesses
:ferrothorn:

A
These mons are extremely strong, and are either huge components of the metagame or are great at countering it
A+
:kartana::melmetal::tornadus-therian::tapu fini::clefable:
:tapu lele:
This mon's only switch real counters are bulky steel types, and only one of them has passive recovery outside of leftovers in ferrothorn, if lele and its team manages to take a mon from its sparse pool of checks into range, it tends to be lights out for something every time it switches in, and unlike the other special attackers in the tier which lack switch-ins lele has respectable bulk and sits in a speed tier that allows it to viably run both modest and timid natures on specs and a scarf instead of it's big power boost
:blacephalon:
If the scarf variant of blacephalon picks up a ko, let alone two, it gets a free sweep; no setup required. Outside of that specs is extremely powerful and both sets are able to trick away their choice item, potentially crippling a wall such as blissey
A
:garchomp::magnezone::slowking-galar::volcarona::slowbro::rotom-wash::volcanion:
:buzzwole:
Defensive sets are essentially a physical version of blissey, and other sets maintain those formidable defenses whilst bringing buzzwole's incredible attacking power to the table
:dragonite:
DD sets are fucking dumb, run ice punch/eq/roost or flying coverage in case you're worried about buzzwole
:nidoking:
The last of the quartet of special mons that lack switch-ins, consisting of lele, blacephalon, volcanion, and itself, nidoking is the only one that truly has no switch-ins outside of the requisite mention of the blissey line, trading in volcanion's bulk for more speed, stab poison, truly unresisted coverage, no rocks resist, and the ability to switch moves (although volcanion doesn't always run specs)
A-
:ninetales-alola::zapdos::zapdos-galar::nihilego::hippowdon::corviknight:
:mew:
mew finds itself in a strange spot where it is simultaneously fucked by weavile's prominence hard and also functions as a great lure for one of the tier kings with colbur berry and cc. You already know how dumb cosmic power mew is so I don't want to mention it, what I will mention - however - is that that set can run not only body press (for dark types) but also potentially heal bell to remove status in case you fuck up and let it get hit with a poison.
B
These mons exist. They function as threats to account for but are really just kinda average.

These mons are definitely viable, however I think that all hope of them being OU is thoroughly extinguished, these boys range from questionable to just plain weird and this is where mons that are actually on the official vr will be ignored; weather it is because I think they are dogshit or because I forgot to put them on is up to you to decide.

hail rain and HO mons + washtom slowking as good bulky waters

epic guys that aren't as reliable as you might hope

C+ :blaziken: :polteageist: :crawdaunt: :kingdra: :keldeo: :reuniclus::shedinja: :ditto: :salamence: :scizor: :mamoswine: :swampert:
a few more HO mons, good but stall-only mons, and then some good reliable bulky offense mons that u might use now and again

chansey (see my nomination), a bunch of weird mons you can build around and do well with, a few TR and HO mons, generally worth using on certain teams

C- :rotom-heat: :thundurus-therian: :zarude: :azumarill: :dhelmise: :grimmsnarl: :moltres: :lycanroc-dusk: :darmanitan: :haxorus: :quagsire: :klefki: :latias: :krookodile: :porygon-z: :arctovish: :omastar: :cloyster: :azelf: :zoroark: :umbreon: :corsola-galar:
build around this mon and you'll still have a viable ou team. or use one of these as a substitute for a higher tier mon due to a specific trait that's needed (eg quag's typing on stall despite clef being a better unaware mon, rotom-heat's good hail matchup and weird typing or haxorus' access to CC. corsola is copium)

UR :charizard: :ribombee: :shuckle: :xatu:
use victini/tran/darm, don't use webs, xatu sucks, even espeon is better on that one cheese HO team

I really like the current VR and I don't really feel like doing an entire list, I am also only a ladder player so I don't really know what's going on in tours and don't feel comfy posting in the actual VR thread, but I just really wanted to mention that in my eyes

:Blaziken: B/B+

This mon is a disgusting breaker and I don't remember a game where it fell flat. The very worst I've seen it do is put slowbro/pex to 20 which you can still exploit. For a long time I felt as if it was restricted to HO/offense builds, but after seeing 3d (his name in PS) use it in hazards stack for R1 of OURLT I don't think that any longer. Cool mon.

btw Registeel > half the mons in C- but we aren't ready for that conversation.

Bored. So I’m making another VR

probably my last VR of the gen, explanations for all coming soon

S
:heatran: - Most definitive defensive presence of the tier, while still being supreme offensively, only has one truly bad matchup in the tier, actively enhances the viability of checks in the tier.

S-
:weavile: - Most definitive offensive presence of the tier, has very little in terms of true counters, only real issue is frailty, which is at least somewhat compensated with that blazing Speed tier
:ferrothorn:- Best utility mon in the tier, a team that cannot break it is unviable. Capable of checking half the tier while still being capable of annoying the other half.
:clefable:- #2 usage in WCOP must mean something, right? That aside, this mon can just do anything it wants, from CM and Stealth Rock to Tricky Barb and Unaclef. This unparalleled versatility, combined with Clefable’s frankly vast defensive profile, make it a great Pokemon right now.
:landorus therian:- Super splashable utility mon, probably the best Stealth Rock setter in the tier, but can’t help but feel that it’s somewhat overrated in terms of its S-tier placement. One of the more abusable presences in the tier due to said ubiquity, which keeps it from the top spot in my eyes.
:melmetal:- Superb offensive and defensive capabilities, can pull off multiple, equally dangerous sets that do not really have a consistent counter. Not to mention it’s spectacular performance in WCOP as of late.

A+
:tornadus therian:- Best Defogger in the tier, it literally fits on any team style bar sun (lol). Has access to a shit ton of utility (Defog, Knock Off, U-Turn + Regen) and can still be a fairly potent offensive threat in its own right.
:kartana:- Extremely potent breaker and just one of the best offensive Pokemon in the tier in general. Scarf Kart carries certain offenses, and is a stellar cleaner vs a wide majority of the tier. Band and SD sets are also still excellent. Pads SD in particular is quite neat.
:garchomp:- Chomp is very good right now, has a decent array of equally offensively potent sets, while still boasting an impressive defensive profile thanks to its defensive stats and typing. TankChomp is love, TankChomp is life.
:tapu koko:- This Pokemon has very few reliables, consistent checks, this guy is ludicrous. Super easy chip on the Ground-types that aren't named Gastrodon and Hippowdon, and any checks in general.
:zapdos:- Another extremely potent offensive Electric-type with Roost, except this time it is slower and has STAB Hurricane! Yeah, I love Zapdos in this current meta. Offensive Zapdos is super versatile, one of the scariest Pokémon in the tier. Defensive isn’t too bad either, checking Kartana is always good.

A
:slowking galar:- Rise of ChompCorvKing teams is an absolute godsend for this guy. It’s a great blanket special check, keeping rising threats like Rotom-W in check.
:rotom wash:- If you’ve been following WCOP, you know that Rotom-W has been absolutely popping off. With the advent of ORAS-style teams becoming evident, Rotom-W is a nigh compulsory addition to those teams. In addition, turns out an Electric-type that can beat all of the Ground-types in the tier is very good.
:dragapult:- Pult’s been feeling not nearly as good as it was months ago right now, Specs is fairly underwhelming as a breaker, and Band / DD is very inconsistent. It’s still solid, a Pokemon with that Speed and that typing can’t really be bad, it’s just not nearly as potent as I have seen some people say it is.
:slowbro:- Slowbro’s doing the same stuff it always has - enabling breakers and being fat. Slowbro is my second best bulky water, mainly because it’s simply such a potent defensive presence, both in terms of its supportive capabilities and the amount of stuff it walls. Knock Off weakness is kind of cringe though.
:gastrodon:- Gastrodon has been popping off on fat builds as an answer to Volcanion and other offensive threats that the teams it often fits on are unable to cover efficiently. It is a premier staple on a lot of fatter builds.
:urshifu-rapid-strike:- Urshifu has been popping off in recent times due to the upsurge in WeavShifu cores. An absolutely monstrous core, and Urshifu is a big part of why. It doesn’t have many checks bar Toxapex, who can still be overwhelmed throughout the course of the game.
:volcanion:- Volcanion is simple to explain - an absolutely monstrous breaker with very few reliable checks due to its monstrous coverage and great stats.
:toxapex:- Toxapex is still a fantastic defensive presence, capable of walling all sorts of Pokemon and acting as a nice general blanket check. However, half the tier is able to easily exploit Toxapex’s rather passive presence, and it is heavily reliant on cores to consistently be able to check the stuff it has to beat.
:buzzwole:- One of the tier’s best physical walls, the amount of physical attackers it checks is ludicrous, literally makes niche options like Aerial Ace Kartana and Acrobatics Rillaboom genuinely usable strategies, which is just insane.

A-
:tapu fini:- Good mon, don't really know which set is the absolute best at the moment, but I really like trapping sets and Choice Scarf in the current meta. Only reason it is this low is that competition for bulky Water type has never been higher in this meta in my eyes, but Fini is still very unique from them.
:tapu lele:- Absolutely nuclear wallbreaker, no bona fide counters in the tier. However, I find it to be a bit overrated. Steel-types are often bulky enough to operate as generally good checks to this thing. In addition to this, Specs sets are easy to revenge kill while Scarf sets face more struggles with Steel-types. Having to rely on Focus Blast's bad accuracy for these threats is painful.
:ninetales alola:- Veil offense is super good at the moment, Ninetales-A's reliability in terms of putting up Aurora Veil is a big part of why this is so. Ninetales-A has a lot of cool utility tools that make it the current best Screen setter in the tier.
:blacephalon:- This thing is capable of beating every team in the tier, literally ludicrous wallbreaker. It would be A if the surge in Tyranitar usage wasn't so prominent, but it can still chip it down and eventually beat it over time.
:zeraora:- I don't know why people say this thing is bad and one of the worst OU mons, its completely fine. Bulk Up is a very scary mid-to-late game wincon, and Zera is easily capable of wearing down Ground-types over time. It's like Koko in that regard, in which its only truly safe check is Hippowdon. Choice Band is also still solid, I like Toxic last as it means Hippowdon is practically dead, so you can go crazy on everything else. However, Koko's existence will always prove to be major competition, and considering Koko is so prominent, I think this is probably the highest I'd put it.
:tyranitar:- Sand is the best weather in the tier, and I'm sick of pretending it isn't. Enabling offensive threats like Excadrill is stellar, considering Excadrill is actually a scary wallbreaker too. Tyranitar is one of the best sand abusers itself, as Choice Band Tyranitar has approximately 0 safe switch-ins in the tier. It's a monstrous wallbreaker that can still check the stuff it needs to (i.e. Zapdos, Blacephalon, etc). SpDef is usable too I guess.
:excadrill:- Sand is good, so Excadrill is good. The mighty drop in Corviknight usage and PDef Landorus-T being all but extinct are absolute godsends for this Pokemon. Genuinely really trick for a lot of teams to handle. However, with CorvChompKing teams becoming more defined in the metagame, I feel like Excadrill may have a slight "flavor-of-the-month" syndrome.
:dragonite:- Dragonite is a solid set up sweeper, Ice Punch + EQ is the best coverage right now, hits everything DNite checks very well. Defensive Dragonite is still OK, the best viable Heatran counter in the tier is guaranteed some sort of niche.
:corviknight:- Corviknight fell off hard, but still finds itself on quite a few stallish and BO teams, namely the upsurge of success in CorvChompKing + WeavShifu + Last teams in WCOP. I just find Corviknight is too exploitable by too many Pokemon. It's for sure a centralizing defensive Pokemon, however, every team is prepared for this thing in one way or another.
:victini: - Encore Victini is broken guys USE IT. In all seriousness, this thing is a pretty neat wallbreaker with great coverage and a nuclear STAB in V-Create. Its currently on the best team in the tier, so that probably gives it some bonus points.

B+
:moltres galar:- Moltres-G is an incredibly potent Pokemon on both hyper and bulky offense, NP + Agility sets are very hard to stop in the late game once they get going. Has a surprising amount of versatility despite its rather meager movepool, stuff like Rest + Chesto, NP + Taunt, and other surprise sets have succeeded. Also acts as a Dragapult check for hyper offense, which is a blessing.
:zapdos galar:- Zapdos-G has kind of fallen off in recent times. It's still decent on SpikeStack teams as a Defog deterrent. However, I can't help but feel that Urshifu's rising presence in the tier is making this slightly drop off.
:magnezone:- Corviknight usage is lower than ever currently, and I don't find to be very reliable at trapping Ferrothorn. Trapping Corviknight can still be useful though.
:nidoking:- Nidoking is a dummy strong wallbreaker thanks to impeccable coverage and Sheer Force. I still think this thing is an absolute monster, tears through defensive cores like they are cake.
:pelipper:- Rain is pretty good, so Pelipper is pretty good. Definitely one of the better weather setters due to U-Turn, but I feel like it doesn't really do anything besides that. Also, I feel like Rain is super hard to vary up in terms of Pokemon picked, making it easy to scout and outplay over time.
:barraskewda:- Rain is pretty good, so Barraskewda is pretty good. An almost guaranteed pick on rain teams, its pretty hard to wall. Bulky Water generally do the job well enough though.
:slowking:- What I said for Slowbro except its weaker to Knock Off and U-Turn but can check Tapu Lele and other monstrous special wallbreakers.
:rillaboom:- Still a funny sweeper with Swords Dance, but there has been an upsurge in set variety for SD Rillaboom, with sets like SD Leftovers now existing while already acknowledged sets like LO Acrobatics still prosper. Don't use Choice Band, its really bad.

B
:blissey:- Blissey does what it has always done, and in that role it's rather solid - it's a generally decent blanket special check. However, overwhelming Blissey is a rather easy task, as many special attackers boast ways to easily get around it, i.e. pivot move spam and Fighting-type coverage/Psyshock.
:arctozolt:- Hail is OK, Arctozolt is a rather inconsistent, if incredibly potent sweeper under hail. The increased presence of Steel-types is a pain in the ass for it though.
:bisharp:- Bisharp is just OK. It fits perfectly fine on those hazard-stacking offenses, but outside of them, it faces competition with one of the best offensive Pokemon in the tier.
:aegislash:- I am an Aegislash stan, this guy is pretty neat. Ghost/Steel is an incredible typing, and it finds a decent amount of good matchups in the current meta, its just very slow and inconsistent as a breaker.
:hippowdon:
:skarmory:
:nihilego:- Nihilego is a good hyper offensive Pokemon right now, despite its general inconsistency as a set up sweeper due to the ubiquity and rise of Ground-types in the tier right now. Once the Grounds are gone, it can more or less pelt through everything else due to its good STAB combination and Beast Boost. However, the presence of Ground- and Steel-types in the tier really hurt it right now.

:jellicent:- Murderer of Volcanion and Urshifu-Rapid Strike everywhere, this is highkey underrated and could go into a proper tier.
:porygon-z: - Strong motherfucker

Just found out about this thread so I figured I'd post my Personal VR just for fun
4341128E-B2DD-46AC-85DC-101F8166B535.jpeg

S: The Best of the Best, not using them on your team either requires an incredibly good reasoning, or you're using Stall.

S-: Just Below that of being one of the best mons in the tier, maybe with one or two flaws holding it back.

A+: Incredibly Reliable and Self Sufficient Pokémon in the metagame, usually need extremely minimal team support to function properly, and/or open up very few or even no weaknesses that need to be addressed.

A: Still incredible Pokémon in their own right, but may struggle to fit on teams as easily as those ranked above them.

A-: Great Pokémon that while you can't really go wrong using them, they may not be as self-sufficient as one would hope, or are underwhelming into Specific Matchups.

B+: Flawed but still useful Pokémon, may have gaping weaknesses but can still hold their own for the most part.

B: Decent Pokémon that may be harder to justify over a higher tier Pokémon, but fill their more specific role excellently.

B-: Niche Picks that have massive flaws, but can be made work with the correct team supporting it

C+: Pokémon with more Flaws than Good Traits, but may have a very small niche that they can fill if needed by a team.

C: Fringe Options that may borderline on being Matchup-Fishy, unreliable if not given extremely heavy support, and still end up unreliable even with proper support, just less so.

C-: Closest to Bad a Pokémon can get without being directly unviable. These Pokémon either have an extremely small niche filled better by other mons in a vast majority of cases, or while usable, have too many issues in to too many matchups to be legitimately considered for a serious team.

UR: Using these Pokémon is a direct detriment to the user, they bring absolutely no positive benefits not fufilled by vastly superior Pokémon

This was made a while ago, and some of my opinions have changed on some mons (like the Sun Core being in C- When more recently I'd be fine with bumping them to C, Quagsire in maybe C-, and dropping Urshifu Rapid to A-.) But I didn't feel like redoing the entire VR just to make minimal changes like that.

F tier is for the deceptively bad mons. You really want them to be good. That one guy in the 1700s is always telling you they're broken. But they're not. In the case of the  and like half of D tier, I'm that one 1700s guy.
Also probably applies to me being an Arctovish truther but that's completely unironic on my part he's so broken fr fr.
S+ to B tier should be OU, B- to C+ have clear niches, C to D mons are good but dont fit on most teams, anything else is like deliberately suboptimal but maybe fun.
