Ubers Pheromosa

[OVERVIEW]

* Pheromosa possesses many traits that enable it to threaten offensive threats in the Uber metagame. It has nearly unmatched Speed that lets it outspeed all Arceus formes, Mega Gengar, Ultra Necrozma, and Deoxys-A, which allows it to revenge kill or force switches, generate momentum with predictions by utilizing U-turn, and use coverage moves like Ice Beam to OHKO other foes like Zygarde and Mega Salamence.
* Although Pheromosa seems like a threatening attacker when factoring in Beast Boost, its decent offensive stats, and its ability to outspeed and OHKO many threats in the tier, there are a myriad of Pokemon that force flawless predictions for Pheromosa to be effective. Its disappointing STAB combination means that the very common Xerneas and Ghost-types limit Pheromosa's effectiveness by discouraging it from using its stronger attacks.
* Even accounting for its ability to avoid unfavorable matchups with U-turn and circumvent some of its checks with certain coverage moves, Pheromosa is a rather underwhelming Pokemon when it is considered as a fast, frail attacker to trouble offensive teams. Deoxys-A has far better offensive capabilities, being able to threaten and even outright OHKO more foes with its more powerful STAB options and overcoming its inability to pivot with its much narrower defensive counterplay.
* Other offensive Pokemon like Marshadow and Choice Scarf users like Xerneas and Yveltal prove to be far better anti-offense staples than Pheromosa; Marshadow is much more difficult to switch into, picks off weakened foes with Shadow Sneak, and checks certain setup users with Spectral Thief, while the aforementioned Choice Scarf users are better at generating predictable reactions from an opponent and also possess utility options that will retain their usefulness when their offensive presence is limited.
* Pheromosa's strength fails to outshine its crippling drawbacks due to the competition it faces with the mentioned offensive Pokemon. The likelihood it will secure its place in teams is further limited by its abysmal bulk, which will make it impossible to make a safe switch into any foes without taking heavy damage or getting KOed. This frailty also causes Pheromosa to fall victim to most priority moves and prevents it from utilizing marginally useful utility moves like Rapid Spin and Taunt and rarely distributed moves like Quiver Dance.

* Pheromosa already has a considerable amount of risk when against offensive teams where it holds a miniscule, outclassed niche, and it additionally struggles against defensive teams due to foes like Ho-Oh, Toxapex, and Mega Sableye.
* Despite its offensive stats and movepool that give it a decent matchup against offensive teams, offensively threaten many Dark-types, and threaten teams with loose checks to Fighting-types, Pheromosa generally struggles to justify its place on most teams due to its reliance on prediction and general opportunity cost from its use.

Moves
========

* Despite its poor coverage, U-turn is Pheromosa's most important move, allowing it to pivot out against its numerous checks and do considerable damage to its switch-ins. It's also Pheromosa's best way to hit Psychic-types like Ultra Necrozma and Mega Mewtwo Y while serving as a safer move to use against Dark-types when various foes are going to predict Low Kick and switch out.
* Low Kick is the safest and the most consistent Fighting-type STAB move for Pheromosa, as it threatens various Dark- and Steel-types while doing enough damage to 2HKO support Arceus formes and offensive Primal Groudon. Low Kick also has enough power to enable Pheromosa to revenge kill foes like Primal Kyogre and Mild Yveltal after little prior damage.
* Ice Beam hits many Pokemon that can pivot into U-turn and Low Kick hard, OHKOing Zygarde, Mega Salamence, and Rayquaza and 2HKOing Giratina-O. After a U-turn, Arceus-Flying is 2HKOed as well.
* The fourth moveslot is the best used to improve Pheromosa's matchup against its typical checks. Throat Chop OHKOes Mega Gengar, takes out Lunala after its Shadow Shield has been broken, and 2HKOes Marshadow and Arceus-Ghost.
* Poison Jab enables Pheromosa to 2HKO Xerneas and, most of the time, Arceus-Fairy. If lacking defensive investment, a Xerneas hit by Poison Jab after Stealth Rock damage will be left at low enough health to be taken out by U-turn the next time it switches into Pheromosa.
* Drill Run OHKOes Mega Gengar, 2HKOes Toxapex after Stealth Rock damage, and serves as the hardest way to hit Magearna, guaranteeing 2HKO on it unlike Low Kick.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Attack investment with Life Orb gives Pheromosa enough power to 2HKO support Arceus formes with Low Kick and OHKO Mega Gengar and Ultra Necrozma with the appropriate moves.
* Speed EVs are maximized for Pheromosa to take advantage of its stellar Speed tier, enabling it to outspeed almost the entire tier, including some fast foes like Mega Gengar, Ultra Necrozma, and Deoxys-A lacking Extreme Speed. A Naive nature enables Pheromosa to outspeed Mega Mewtwo Y and +1 Zygarde. Beast Boost boosting Speed after every KO almost never proves to be useful, however.
* A Naughty nature can be used to give Pheromosa enough power to 2HKO the majority of support Arceus formes and have a better chance to 2HKO Primal Groudon without relying on entry hazards.
* Life Orb improves Pheromosa's damage output to achieve the aforementioned KOs with physical attacks and OHKO any regular Zygarde variant and 2HKO Giratina-O with Ice Beam.
* If you're using a Naughty nature, Beast Boost boosts Pheromosa's Attack upon KOing a foe, which can see a situational use when cleaning up late-game after its checks have been dealt with.

Usage Tips
========

* Pheromosa will have very limited opportunities to safely enter the field. As it cannot switch into any attacks or status moves, it is ideal to bring in Pheromosa as a lead, after a teammate has been KOed, or with an aggressive double switch.
* With the amount of difficulty involved with giving Pheromosa a chance to attack, it is crucially important to appropriately predict with it. Most of its switch-ins are reliant on their typing to take on Pheromosa, so be quick to identify foes that will potentially pivot into it. As there are multitude of Pokemon that can safely pivot into Pheromosa, U-turn is a weak yet safe option to identify what foe tends to switch into its attacks. U-turn is also a safe option when Pheromosa did not predict correctly against a slower incoming foe and has to retreat afterwards.
* While Pheromosa can revenge kill threats like Ultra Necrozma, unboosted Mega Salamence, and Mega Mewtwo Y with ease, there are specific matchups where Pheromosa cannot recklessly take on threats it can strike first. The most notable example of this is Zygarde-C with possible way of boosting and Substitute. Pheromosa can avoid getting OHKOed from +1 Thousand Arrows from full health, but if Zygarde-C has Dragon Tail, it will simply OHKO Pheromosa after blocking Ice Beam with Substitute. This means Pheromosa should refrain from recklessly attempting to revenge kill Zygarde-C behind a Substitute without much information about its moveset.
* Pheromosa's teammates typically benefit from its ability to pressure slower, bulky foes and wear down other foes with U-turn. Entry hazards can punish switch-ins like Xerneas harder should they attempt to pivot into Pheromosa. Stealth Rock is especially useful to prevent Ho-Oh from consistently switching into Pheromosa without any concern and help generate opportunities to 2HKO defensive Primal Groudon and Lugia.
* Teams lacking durable Ghost-types will struggle to properly handle Pheromosa and will typically send in foes that can take Low Kick. This will give Pheromosa more opportunities to deal more damage on foes instead of being forced to pivot often with U-turn. Teams that rely on Pokemon like Mega Salamence and Giratina-O, which are vulnerable to Ice Beam, struggle to properly keep Pheromosa in check. In these matchups, fully take advantage of Pheromosa's offensive capabilities and prioritize netting as much damage as possible.

Team Options
========

* Pheromosa's efficiency as an attacker largely depends on availability of entry hazards. Very common yet needed Stealth Rock users like Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM can provide Stealth Rock support while checking Fairy-types. Primal Groudon benefits from Pheromosa's ability to threaten its Dragon-type checks like Zygarde-C, Mega Salamence, and Giratina-O. Offensive sets can take advantage of Pheromosa's U-turn to switch in unharmed, which is helpful when it desires to preserve its health to keep Xerneas in line or set up without taking too much damage. Necrozma-DM running Stealth Rock may struggle against other Steel-types, which Pheromosa can offensively threaten with Low Kick. Offensive teams can use a more dedicated entry hazard lead like Cloyster or Deoxys-S, which enables Pheromosa to pressure opposing teams from early-game through racking up considerable damage by forcing switches.
* With the exception of Ho-Oh, most switch-ins to Pheromosa like Xerneas, Arceus-Fairy, and Toxapex are vulnerable to Mega Gengar. Most balanced and defensive teams will have a switch-in, if not more, that can persistently switch into Pheromosa, and Mega Gengar can force a trade with a problematic foe to ease Pheromosa's attempts to dish out damage. Pheromosa has the ability to 2HKO Pokemon like Primal Groudon and Arceus-Dark and threaten to heavily impair specially bulky foes like Primal Kyogre, all of which Mega Gengar alone cannot take down.
* Xerneas is another offensive partner that should be strongly considered. The ability to check Yveltal and Marshadow is greatly appreciated, and Geomancy variants can take advantage of defensive cores worn down by Pheromosa's attacks. Other minor benefits like cleric and Defog support are notable as well, as any status ailments are detrimental to Pheromosa, and removing entry hazards will prevent it from getting worn down too quickly with Life Orb recoil.
* While Pheromosa can pressure many faster threats, certain sweepers like Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and Xerneas can simply set up on Pheromosa in a one-on-one situation. This means Pheromosa alone isn't reliable enough to keep offensive threats from getting out of hand. Priority move users like Yveltal, Marshadow, and Extreme Killer Arceus can provide more security against the aforementioned threats, as the damage Pheromosa will do to them will be sufficient to put them in range of many priority moves when combined with entry hazards or other prior damage. Yveltal and Marshadow also prove to be useful offensive partners with their ability to threaten Ghost-types.
* Various defensive partners are needed for instances where Pheromosa fails to predict correctly. Various support Arceus formes, Giratina-O, and Mega Salamence will handle Primal Groudon, while Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Magearna can take advantage of Fairy-types that switch into Pheromosa by setting entry hazards or generating momentum, respectively.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Rapid Spin may give Pheromosa an option to remove entry hazards on forced switches, but Ghost-types' general tendencies to switch into Pheromosa makes this a rather disappointing option. Pheromosa's frailty also means that it will often risk getting KOed when attempting to use Rapid Spin, as the move puts it in a very vulnerable state.
* High Jump Kick has a high damage output on all non-immune targets and has enough power to possibly 2HKO defensive Primal Groudon and offensive Ho-Oh. High Jump Kick can also be used with Fightinium Z to give Pheromosa access to All-Out Pummeling, which can be used to outright OHKO foes like Primal Kyogre. However, opting for High Jump Kick over Low Kick will make Pheromosa more unreliable and punished harder for mispredictions.
* Double Kick can be used to anti-lead and pick surprise KOs on Smeargle and Excadrill, but it cannot KO Cloyster and essentially has no other use.
* Taunt may seem like a useful option to enable Pheromosa to prevent utility moves against slower foes, but it is hard to fit and Pheromosa's frailty makes this even harder to utilize.
* A set of Quiver Dance / Focus Blast / Ice Beam / Bug Buzz with Fightinium Z can surprise some of Pheromosa's checks, but this set lacks initial power and still struggles against Fairy-types.
* Focus Sash can turn Pheromosa into a revenge killer, but the loss of power from lack of Life Orb is not worth it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ho-Oh**: Ho-Oh resists multiple attacks from Pheromosa and can threaten to KO back with one of its STAB moves. Defensive variants can switch into Pheromosa even when Stealth Rock is up and avoid the 2HKO with Leftovers recovery. Without Stealth Rock, Ho-Oh can consistently prevent Pheromosa from netting much damage thanks to Regenerator.

**Ghost-types**: Though there are a small number of them that can avoid the 2HKO from Pheromosa, Ghost-types prevent it from freely using its strongest attack and force it to commit to coverage moves, which they can take advantage of by either switching into other Pokemon to take a weaker attack or forcing it to pivot out with a resisted U-turn. This means unreliable yet troublesome Ghost-types like Giratina-O can switch in to hinder Pheromosa if desperately needed. Marshadow, Lunala, and Arceus-Ghost avoid getting 2HKOed by any Pheromosa lacking Throat Chop and force it out.

**Toxapex**: Toxapex is one of the most persistent switch-ins to Pheromosa due to its resistance to most of its attacks, only fearing Drill Run. Regenerator makes it impossible for Pheromosa to wear down Toxapex with U-turn, and variants with Rocky Helmet will put it in a position where it will have to hesitate about pivoting.

**Fairy-types**: Xerneas and Arceus-Fairy can pivot into Pheromosa thanks to their resistance to its STAB moves. However, they do not like switching into U-turn and are 2HKOed by Poison Jab.

**Skarmory and Celesteela**: Pheromosa can only 2HKO Skarmory by hitting it with Ice Beam on the switch when Stealth Rock is up, and Celesteela narrowly avoids the 2HKO from Low Kick with Protect and Leftovers recovery.

**Priority Moves**: Pheromosa's frailty leaves it very vulnerable to priority moves from most foes. Marshadow picks off Pheromosa with Life Orb-boosted Shadow Sneak after a single round of recoil damage from Life Orb, and Extreme Killer Arceus outright OHKOes it with Extreme Speed. Life Orb Yveltal, Rayquaza, and Mega Lucario can easily KO Pheromosa with their priority moves after it has been worn down with a few rounds of Life Orb recoil damage.

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf users like Xerneas and Yveltal can outspeed and easily OHKO Pheromosa if given a safe switch.

I feel ghosts should be below ho-oh & pex on c&c, since phero can 2hko most ghosts with the proper coverage
Ghost-types are listed on the top on C&C not solely because of their efficiency as defensive checks, but because of them simply discouraging Pheromosa from doing what it must do to fulfill its role; using its strongest STAB move. Their existence simply makes Pheromosa use weaker coverage moves just to bypass them or simply use U-turn even in favorable matchups and this contributes to Pheromosa's general unviability. While not all Ghost-types are effective switch-ins, there are a few threats like Marshadow and Lunala that can switch into Pheromosa at least once. Forcing Pheromosa to predict more precisely is a huge annoyance that Ghost-type brings - they do more than just switching into Pheromosa's STAB moves and most of them can offensively check Pheromosa by default.

Ho-Oh's effectiveness as a check varies depending on its bulk investment or whether Stealth Rock is set or not, while Toxapex can be circumvented with Drill Run or can be scouted with U-turn to bring in one of the teammates that can take advantage of it. Despite this, the analysis will aim to avoid assuming that Stealth Rock will have too direct effect on Ho-Oh's efficiency as a check and Toxapex hinders Pheromosa with Rocky Helmet so they are listed in fairly high position despite being bullets covering specific Pokemon.

drop drill run to moves - the targets can be u-turned on safely and being able to revenge ghosts with throat chop is neat because it combines scarf xern and yveltal targets a bit.

+speed sucks for cleaning because now beast boost is boosting speed - give that a mention.

no mention of the zygarde matchup in usage tips? phero can rk it but only if its +1 and not behind a sub - otherwise it gets dtailed on the sub break and dies. it takes +1 arrows if its healthy.

* While Pheromosa can pressure many faster threats, certain sweepers like Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and Xerneas can simply set up on Xerneas in one on one situation.
:pirate:

psyspam aint fitting phero. remove that from team options.

with throat chop as main slash in slot 4 id drop ghosts below ho-oh in c&c.

celes and skarm should likely be in c&c somewhere.

implement for QC 2/3

probs worth mentioning in usage tips that, because phermosa is so fast, even if u dont predict the opposing switch-in, u generally get to still get free u-turn chip in while simultaneously preventing the opponent from snagging more pressure with a double switch.

qc 3/3 btw

However, opting High Jump Kick over Low Kick will make Pheromosa more unreliable and get punished harder for mispredictions. (although you're implying it, perhaps mention how Ghost-type screw you over if you have High Jump Kick since a misprediction will cost you a good chunk of HP, which makes Ghost-type switch-ins against Pheromosa a lot more common)
* Double Kick can be used to anti-lead and pick surprise KOes on Smeargle and Excadrill, but it cannot KO Cloyster and essentially has no other use.

(maybe a line on how it'll be hard in general for it to actually set up with Quiver Dance with its poor bulk?)
* Focus Sash can turn Pheromosa into a revenge killer, but loss of power from lack of Life Orb is not worth it.

**Priority Moves**: Pheromosa's frailty leads it to being very vulnerable to priority moves from most foes. Marshadow picks off Pheromosa with Life Orb-boosted Shadow Sneak after a single recoil damage from Life Orb and Extreme Killer Arceus outright OHKOes Pheromosa it with Extreme Speed. Life Orb Yveltal, Rayquaza, and Mega Lucario can easily KO Pheromosa with their priority moves after Pheromosa it has been worn down with a few rounds of Life Orb recoil damage.

[OVERVIEW]

* Pheromosa possesses many traits that enable it to threaten offensive threats in the Uber metagame. (not necessary; viewers can see "ubers" at the top) It has nearly unmatched Speed to that outspeeds all Arceus formes, Mega Gengar, Ultra Necrozma, and Deoxys-A, (AC) (note to amchecker: which clauses ALWAYS need a comma) which allows it to revenge kill or force switches, U-turn to generate momentum with predictions by utilizing U-turn, (keep original. dmdw is saying "it has uturn to generate momentum") and safely use (again, keep original) coverage moves like Ice Beam to OHKO other foes like Zygarde and Mega Salamence.
* Pheromosa's ability to outspeed and OHKO many threats in the tier may combine with its decent offensive stats to make it seem like a threatening attacker with Beast Boost, Although Pheromosa seems like a threatening attacker when factoring in Beast Boost, its decent offensive stats, and its ability to outspeed and OHKO many threats in the tier, but there are a myriad of Pokemon that force flawless predictions for Pheromosa to flawlessly predict to be effective. Its disappointing STAB combination means that the very common (keep) Xerneas or and common Ghost-types limit Pheromosa's effectiveness by discouraging it from using its stronger attacks.
* Even accounting on for Pheromosa's its ability to avoid to evade unfavorable matchups with U-turn and circumvent some of its checks with certain coverage moves, Pheromosa is a rather underwhelming Pokemon when it is considered as a fast, frail attacker to trouble offensive teams. Deoxys-A has far better offensive capabilities, being able to threaten to and even outright OHKO more foes with its more powerful STAB options and overcoming its inability to pivot with its much narrower defensive counterplay.
* Other offensive Pokemon like Marshadow and Choice Scarf users like Xerneas and Yveltal prove to be far better anti-offense staples than Pheromosa.; Marshadow is much more difficult to switch into, picks off weakened foes with Shadow Sneak, and checks certain setup users with Spectral Thief, while the aforementioned, while aforementioned Choice Scarf users like the ones mentioned are better at generating predictable reactions from an opponent and also possess utility options that will retain their usefulness when their offensive presence is limited.
* Pheromosa's strength fails to outshine its crippling drawbacks due to it facing competition with the mentioned offensive Pokemon. (AP) and The likelihood it will secure its place in teams is further limited by its abysmal bulk, which Such bulk (keep original) will make it impossible to make a safe switch into any foes without taking heavy damage or getting KOed. This frailty also causes Pheromosa to fall victim to most priority moves and prevents it from utilizing marginally useful utility moves like Rapid Spin and Taunt and exclusively distributed moves like Quiver Dance.
* Pheromosa already has a considerable amount of risk factors when against offensive teams where it holds a miniscule, outclassed niche against, and it additionally struggles against defensive teams due to foes like Ho-Oh, Toxapex, and Mega Sableye.
* Despite it's offensive stats and movepool having that give it a decent matchup against offensive teams, offensively threatening many Dark-types, and threatening (Keep original completely, except add an "a" before decent matchup) teams with loose checks to Fighting-types, Pheromosa generally struggles to justify its place in on most teams due to its reliance on prediction and general opportunity cost from its use.

Moves
========

* Despite its poor coverage, U-turn is Pheromosa's the most important move, due to it letting it allowing it to pivot out against its numerous checks and do considerable damage to its switch-ins. U-turn is It's also Pheromosa's best way to hit Psychic-types like Ultra Necrozma and Mega Mewtwo Y while serving as a safer move to use against Dark-types when various foes are going to predict Low Kick and likely going to switch out. into predicted Low Kick.
* Low Kick is the safest and the most consistent Fighting-type STAB move that for Pheromosa, (AC) as it threatens various Dark- and Steel-types while doing enough damage to 2HKO support Arceus formes and offensive Primal Groudon. Low Kick also has enough power to enable Pheromosa to revenge kill foes like Primal Kyogre and Mild Yveltal after little (keep) prior damage.
* Poison Jab enables Pheromosa to 2HKO Arceus-Fairy most of the time and also 2HKO Xerneas Xerneas and, most of the time, Arceus-Fairy. (I believe this change makes it flow better) (still a bit clunky but slightly better) If lacking defensive investment, a Xerneas hit by Poison Jab after Stealth Rock damage will be left at low enough health to be taken out by U-turn the next time it switches into Pheromosa.
* Drill Run OHKOes Mega Gengar, 2HKOes Toxapex after Stealth Rock damage, and serves as the hardest way to hit Magearna, guaranteeing 2HKO on it unlike Low Kick.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Attack investment with Life Orb gives Pheromosa enough power to 2HKO support Arceus formes with Low Kick and OHKO Mega Gengar and Ultra Necrozma with the appropriate moves.
* Speed EVs are maximized for Pheromosa to take advantage of its stellar Speed tier, enabling it to outspeed almost the entire tier, including some fast foes like Mega Gengar, Ultra Necrozma, and Rash Deoxys-A lacking Extreme Speed. (dont you also outspeed +speed deo-a? why mention rash specifically) A Naive nature enables Pheromosa to outspeed Mega Mewtwo Y and +1 Zygarde. Beast Boost boosting Speed after every KO almost never proves to be useful, however.
* A Naughty nature can be used to give Pheromosa enough power to 2HKO the majority of support Arceus formes and have a better chance to 2HKO Primal Groudon without relying on entry hazards.
* Life Orb improves Pheromosa's damage output to achieve the aforementioned KOes KOs with physical attacks and OHKO any regular Zygarde variant and 2HKO Giratina-O with Ice Beam.
* If using a Naughty nature, Beast Boost boosts Pheromosa's Attack upon KOing a foe, which can see a situational use when cleaning up late-game after its checks have been dealt with.

Usage Tips
========

* Pheromosa will have very limited opportunities to safely enter the field. As it It cannot switch into any attacks or status moves, so it is the most ideal to bring in Pheromosa as a lead, either after a teammate has been KOed, or with an aggressive double switch. (okay many problems with these changes. first, nothing was wrong with the "as x, y" structure, so dmdw keep that. secondly the addition of "either". i think you misread this sentence as "lead" being after a teammate has been koed or with a double switch, which it definitely is not. this is a list, so the original was perfect)
* With much the amount of difficulty involved with giving Pheromosa a chance to attack, it is crucially important to appropriately predict with it. Most of its switch-in'(remove apostrophe)s are reliant on their typing to take on Pheromosa, so be quick to identify foes that will potentially pivot into Pheromosa it. As there are multitude of Pokemon that can safely pivot into Pheromosa, U-turn is a weak yet safe option to identify what foe tends to switch into Pheromosa's its attacks.
The most notable example of this is Zygarde-C that may have with possible way of boostings and Substitute. Pheromosa can avoid getting OHKOed from +1 Thousand Arrows from full health, but if Zygarde-C has Dragon Tail, (AC) it will simply OHKO Pheromosa after blocking Ice Beam with Substitute. This means Pheromosa should refrain from recklessly attempting to revenge kill Zygarde-C behind a Substitute without much information about Zygarde-C's its moveset.
* Pheromosa's teammates typically benefit from its ability to pressure slower, bulky foes and wear down other foes with U-turn. Entry hazards can punish switch-in'(remove)s like Xerneas harder should it attempt to pivot into Pheromosa. Stealth Rock is especially useful to prevent Ho-Oh from consistently switching into Pheromosa without any concern and help generateing opportunities to 2HKO defensive Primal Groudon and Lugia. (im very confused as to why this line is in usage tips. this isnt a usage tip, this is a team option)

========

Offensive teams can use a more dedicated entry hazard leads like Cloyster or Deoxys-S, (AC) to enable which give enables Pheromosa to pressure opposing teams from in early-game, possibly through racking up considerable damage by forcing switches.
* With an the exception of Ho-Oh, most switch-ins into (dont add) Pheromosa like Xerneas, Arceus-Fairy, and Toxapex are vulnerable to Mega Gengar. Most balanced and defensive teams will have a switch-in, if not more, that can persistently switch into Pheromosa, and Mega Gengar can force a trade with a problematic foe to ease Pheromosa's attempts to dish out damage. Pheromosa has an the ability to 2HKO Pokemon like Primal Groudon and Arceus-Dark and threaten to heavily impair specially bulky foes like Primal Kyogre, all of which Mega Gengar alone cannot take down.
* Xerneas is another offensive partner that should be strongly considered. An The ability to check Yveltal and Marshadow is greatly appreciated, and Geomancy variants can take advantage of defensive cores worn down by Pheromosa's attacks. Other minor benefits like cleric and Defog support are notable as well, as any status ailments are detrimental to Pheromosa and removing entry hazards will prevent Pheromosa it from getting worn down too quickly with Life Orb recoil.
* While Pheromosa can pressure many faster threats, certain sweepers like Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and Xerneas can simply set up on Pheromosa in a one-on-one (AH) situation. Yveltal and Marshadow also prove to be useful offensive partners due to with (keep original) their ability to threaten Ghost-types.
* Various defensive partners are needed for instances where Pheromosa fails to predict correctly and 2HKO a foes in the switch that switch in. Various support Arceus formes, Giratina-O, and Mega Salamence will handle Primal Groudon, while Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Magearna can take advantage of Fairy-types that switch into Pheromosa by setting entry hazards or generating momentum, respectively.

Other Options
=============

* Rapid Spin may give Pheromosa an option to remove entry hazards on forced switches, but Ghost-types' general tendencies to switch into Pheromosa makes this a rather disappointing option. Pheromosa's frailty also means that it will often risk getting KOed when attempting to use Rapid Spin as the move puts it in a very vulnerable state. (no need to implement that, it's implied)
* High Jump Kick has a high damage output on all non-immune targets and has enough power to have chances to possibly 2HKO defensive Primal Groudon and offensive Ho-Oh. High Jump Kick can also be used with Fighitinium Z to give Pheromosa an access to All-Out-(remove hyphen)Pummeling, which that can be used to outright OHKO foes like Primal Kyogre. However, opting for High Jump Kick over Low Kick will make Pheromosa more unreliable and get punished harder for mispredictions. (although you're implying it, perhaps mention how Ghost-type screw you over if you have High Jump Kick since a misprediction will cost you a good chunk of HP, which makes Ghost-type switch-ins against Pheromosa a lot more common)
* Double Kick can be used to anti-lead and pick surprise KOes KOs on Smeargle and Excadrill, but it cannot KO Cloyster and essentially has no other use.
* Taunt may seem like a useful option to enable Pheromosa to prevent utility moves against slower foes, but it is hard to fit and Pheromosa's frailty makes this even harder to utilize.
* A set utilizing Quiver Dance, Focus Blast, and Ice Beam, and with Bug Buzz or another coverage move of Quiver Dance / Focus Blast / Ice Beam / Bug Buzz (I'm assuming Bug Buzz filled the coverage move role due to how it's listed) (sets are written out with slashes, also i left out the coverage move part because if you say coverage move you actually have to say what that coverage move is) with Fightinium Z can surprise some of Pheromosa's checks, but this set lacks initial power and still struggles against Fairy-types. (maybe a line on how it'll be hard in general for it to actually set up with Quiver Dance with its poor bulk?) (yeah do this)
* Focus Sash can turn Pheromosa into a revenge killer, but the loss of power from lack of Life Orb is not worth it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Though there are a small number of Ghost-types them (keep "ghost-types", we treat c&c like we havent read the header) that can avoid the 2HKO from Pheromosa, Ghost-types prevent Pheromosa it from freely using its strongest attack and forces force it to commit to coverage moves, which they can take advantage of by either switching into other Pokemon to take a weaker attack, (RC) or forcing it to pivot out with a resisted U-turn. This means unreliable yet troublesome Ghost-types like Giratina-O can switch in to hinder Pheromosa if desperately needed. Marshadow, Lunala, and Arceus-Ghost avoid getting 2HKOed by from any Pheromosa lacking Throat Chop and force it out.

**Toxapex**: Toxapex is one of the most persistent switch-in'(remove apo)s to Pheromosa that resists due to its resistance to most attacks from it Pheromosa and only fears Drill Run. Regenerator makes it impossible for Pheromosa to wear down Toxapex with U-turn, (AC) and variants with Rocky Helmet will put Pheromosa it (keep pheromosa) in a position where it will have to hesitate about pivoting.

**Fairy-types**: Xerneas and Arceus-Fairy can pivot into Pheromosa thanks to their resistance to its STAB moves. However, they do not like switching into U-turn and are 2HKOed by Poison Jab.

**Skarmory and Celesteela**: Pheromosa can only 2HKO Skarmory by hitting it with Ice Beam on the switch when Stealth Rock is up, (AC) and Celesteela narrowly avoids the 2HKO from Low Kick with Protect and Leftovers recovery.

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf users like Xerneas and Yveltal can outspeed and easily OHKO Pheromosa if given a safe switch.

overall decent check, there were a few weird changes but nothing too major. this is one of your older checks and i acknowledge that you've improved since then, but keep improving!
