[SET COMMENTS]

Physically offensive Yveltal is a great wallbreaker due to its good Attack stat, movepool, and Dark Aura, which allow it to beat many checks to other common Yveltal sets. Knock Off, boosted by Dark Aura and Life Orb, is a strong and reliable Dark-type stab that is hard to switch into, dealing substantial amounts of damage to all neutral targets and removing items from nearly all Pokemon, including Eternatus, Ho-Oh, and opposing Yveltal. Sucker Punch allows it to threaten and possibly revenge kill faster opponents such as Calyrex-S, Marshadow, and weakened Groudon, Zekrom, boosted Necrozma-DM, and Choice Kyogre, making Yveltal hard to revenge kill. Both Knock Off and Sucker Punch, under Dynamax, turn into powerful Max Darkness, allowing Yveltal to 2HKO or OHKO almost every Pokemon that does not resist it. Dual Wingbeat is a secondary STAB move that allows it to hit Pokemon such as Yveltal and Xerneas that resist its Dark-type moves. Notably, Dual Wingbeat can enable Yveltal to beat Slurpuff, denying Sticky Web. Under Dynamax, Dual Wingbeat turns into Max Airstream giving it a speed boost which allows it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame, barring Regieleki, at +1 Speed while still dishing out considerable amounts of damage. Roost allows Yveltal to regain health as it can be rapidly worn down due to Life Orb and Stealth Rock, while also allowing it to act as a soft Calyrex-S check. Hone Claws can be used to increase damage output to allow it to break through bulky physically defensive Pokemon such as Zygarde-C and Groudon more easily, as well as achieve potential OHKOs on many Pokemon such as Eternatus, Ho-oh, Kyogre, and Ferrothorn at +1. It additionally significantly bolsters its damage output when Dynamaxed, notably OHKOing bulky Yveltal and Eternatus with a boosted Max Airstream. Yveltal without Roost can wear down due to Life Orb damage making it less effective as a Calyrex-S check. Special defense investment of 68 EVs ensures that Yveltal is not 2HKOed by Astral Barrage from Choice Specs Calyrex-S, but is not necessary without Roost. Maximum Speed EVs with rest invested in Attack with Life Orb allows Yveltal to maximize its damage output while ensuring it outspeeds Jolly Zacian-C and non Choice-Scarf Calyrex after a Max Airstream.

Yveltal fits best as a wallbreaker on bulky and hyper offense teams where its offensive abilities are fully appreciated. Teammates such as Necrozma-DM and Calyrex-S can check Fairy-types such as Zacian-C and Xerneas that pose a huge threat to Yveltal. In return, Yveltal is capable of soft-checking and pressuring opposing Calyrex-S, as well as crippling opposing Yveltal. Yveltal can heavily chip Pokemon such as Eternatus, Groudon, and Kyogre using Knock Off allowing Zacian-C and Calyrex-S to OHKO them. Pokemon such as Groudon, Zygarde-C, Marshadow, Zacian-C, and Kyogre can pressure Tyranitar pretty well due to their super effective moves but should be well aware of Foul Play and Thunder Wave. Groudon, Marshadow and Zacian-C can also help lure or wear down defensive Zygarde-C for Yveltal. In addition, Groudon is a great Stealth Rock setter, fully exploiting Yveltal's ability to remove Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Ho-Oh and opposing defensive Yveltal, while Kyogre appreciates Yveltal's ability to lure in and heavily damage its checks like Eternatus and forces out Zygarde-C. Xerneas is another Pokemon that threatens Yveltal's checks in Tyranitar and Zygarde-C and appreciates Yveltal's ability to chip Zacian-C, putting it in range of its boosted attacks, as well as force out its checks in Necrozma-DM, Blissey, and Ferrothorn. Ho-oh, as a teammate on bulky offense, can reliably remove Stealth Rock, allowing Yveltal to check Calyrex-S better while also being able to pivot into Zacian-C. Specially defensive Yveltal, as a teammate on bulky offense, can ease up the pressure by reliaby checking Calyrex-S and removing hazards. On hyper offense, entry hazard setters such as Shuckle, Slurpuff, and Excadrill appreciate Yveltal's ability to lure and deal heavy damage to Defog users such as Ho-Oh and opposing Yveltal.

Other Options
=============
Steel Wing can be used instead of Sucker Punch in order to heavily damage checks such as Tyranitar and Xerneas that can be a huge threat to Yveltal. Under Dynamax, Steel Wing turns into Max Steelspike giving Yveltal a Defense boosts, making it harder to revenge kill for Zacian-C and Ditto. Hone Claws can also be used with Roost on a set without Sucker Punch. However, both of these options sacrifice the ability to revenge kill opponents and make Yveltal much more vulnerable to being revenge kill itself. Jolly nature can be used to outspeed Pokemon such as Kyogre, Groudon, and specially defensive Eternatus at the price of lower damage output.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Physically defensive walls such as Zygarde-C are able to wall Yveltal somewhat comfortably. Zygarde-C can switch-in, paralyze it with Glare, safely use Coil, or remove boosts with Haze. However, Yveltal is able to Knock Off Zygarde-C's Leftovers and can 2HKO chipped Zygarde-C using Max Darkness, or OHKO untransformed Zygarde-C with +1 Max Darkness with a slight amount of chip. Physically Defensive Groudon can eat a hit and pressure Yveltal with Thunder Wave or Stone Edge. However, it does not switch into Knock Off very well.

Physically offensive Yveltal is a good great wallbreaker due to its good Attack stat, movepool, and Dark Aura, capable of beating many checks to other common Yveltal sets boosting its Dark-type moves. Knock Off, boosted under by Dark Aura and Life Orb, is a strong and reliable Dark-type stab that is hard to switch into, dealing substantial amounts of damage to all neutral targets and removing items from nearly all Pokemon, including can overwhelm specially defensive walls such as Blissey, Eternatus, Ho-Oh, and foe opposing Yveltal, that usually switch into Yveltal, by removing their items and making them less effective. In addition to that, Knock Off deals heavy damage to every Pokemon that does not resist it making it hard to switch into Yveltal reordered & slightly changed the focus of the sentences. Sucker Punch allows it to revenge kill faster opponents such as Calyrex-S, Marshadow, and weakened Groudon, Zekrom, boosted Necrozma-DM and Choiced Kyogre Zacian-C while at low health. zacian-c needs to be about 30%, not worth mentioning. also note how sucker also makes yve significantly harder to revenge kill. Both Knock Off and Sucker Punch, under Dynamax, turn into powerful Max Darkness, allowing Yveltal to 2HKO or OHKO almost every Pokemon that does not resist it. Dual Wingbeat is a secondary STAB move that allows it to break through potential substitute and heavily damage hit Pokemon such as Yveltal and Xerneas that resist its Dark-type moves. Under Dynamax, Dual Wingbeat turns into Max Airstream giving it a speed boost allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame, barring Regieleki, everything up to Modest Calyrex-S at +1 Speed while still dishing out considerable amounts of damage. Roost allows Yveltal to regain health as it can wear down due to Life Orb and Stealth Rock hazards, also allowing it and to act as a soft Calyrex-S check by taking hits and recovering health. Hone Claws can be used to increase damage output allowing it to break through bulky physically defensive Pokemon such as Zygarde-C and Groudon more easily, as well as achieve potential OHKOs on knock many Pokemon such as Eternatus, Ho-oh Zekrom, Kyogre, and Ferrothorn Blissey out with a single Knock Off and at +1. It additionally significantly bolsters its damage output when Dynamaxed, notably OHKOing bulky Yveltal and Eternatus with a boosted Max Airstream to ensure that Dual Wingbeat never misses. A Special defense investement of 68 EVs ensures that Yveltal is not 2HKOed by Astral Barrage from an unboosted Choice Specs Calyrex-S, but is not necessary without Roost. Maximum Speed EVs with rest invested in Attack with Life Orb allows Yveltal to maximize its damage output while ensuring it outspeeds Jolly Zacian-C and non-Choice Scarf Calyrex after a Max Airstream.

Yveltal fits best as a wallbreaker on bulky and hyper offense teams where its offensive abilities are fully appreciated as it is able to heavily damage specially defensive walls such as Eternatus, Blissey, and Ferrothorn while removing their respective items allowing Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Kyogre to capitalize. moved this bit about spdef walls for later Teammates such as Necrozma-DM and Calyrex-S can check Fairy-types such as Xerneas and Zacian-C and Xerneas that pose a huge threat to Yveltal. In return, Yveltal is capable of soft-checking and pressuring foe Calyrex-S, as well as crippling opposing Yveltal. In addition, Groudon is a great Stealth Rock setter, fully exploiting Yveltal removing Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Ho-oh and opposing defensive Yveltal, while Kyogre appreciates Yveltal's ability to lure in and heavily damage its checks like Eternatus and forces out Zygarde-C. Xerneas is another Pokemon that threatens Yveltal's checks in Tyranitar and Zygarde-C which appreciates Yveltal's ability to chip Zacian-C, putting it in range of its boosted attacks, as well as force out other its checks in Necrozma-DM, Blissey and Ferrothorn. Physically offensive Yveltal is capable of soft-checking and pressuring Calyrex-S which otherwise is able to sweep through teams. moved to better place Pokemon such as Ferrothorn can check offensive variants of Kyogre that are capable of dealing heavy damage to Yveltal. Yveltal, in return, can pressure Ferrothorn's premier check, Ho-Oh, by removing Heavy-Duty Boots using Knock Off making it hard for Ho-Oh to Pivot into teammates. However, Yveltal should be wary of burn due to Sacred Fire on the switch in. this is perhaps a bit harsh but choiced kyogre doesn't take sucker well, while phys def doesn't take knock well so ogre isn't that threatening to yveltal. moreover, it partially undermines your initial statement about yveltal only fitting on bo and ho teams, since ferro only really fits on balance imo Knock Off being a great spammable move allows Yveltal to heavily damage opponents allowing sweepers such as Zacian-C and Calyrex-S to gain momentum I'm not sure what you are saying here, please make clearer. On hyper offense, teammates entry hazard setters such as Excadrill and Shuckle and Excadrill appreciate Yveltal's ability to lure and deal heavy damage to can set up hazards luring in defoggers such as Ho-Oh and opposing Yveltal which are threatened by Yveltal.

I think you should mention ho-oh's ability to defog reliably for roost sets on bo teams, otherwise it isn't really checking calyrex-s well at all

Steel Wing can be used in order to heavily damage Fairy-types checks such as Tyranitar and Xerneas, Zacian-C that can be a huge threat to Yveltal. Steel wing also deals heavy damage to Tyranitar which can be a nuisance for Yveltal. Under Dynamax, Steel Wing turns into Max Steelspike giving Yveltal a Defense boosts, making it harder to revenge kill for Zacian-C and Ditto. However, Steel Wing takes the ability to revenge kill opponents if used instead of Sucker Punch and makes Yveltal much more vulnerable to being revenge killed itself. An alternate 252 Atk / 252 Spe spread with Adamant nature can be used to maximize the damage output but remove the abiliy to soft check Calyrex-S. you only need the spdef on roost sets, I moved it to the end of 1st paragraph in the 'Set Comments' section. also mention jolly for ability to outspeed ogre/don and some eterns, but note how it isnt entirely necessary to outspeed them and damage output is worse

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Zacian-C poses as a great threat to Yveltal due to it resisting both Dark- and Flying-type moves and being able to OHKO it with Behemoth Blade its move. Xerneas can also OHKO Yveltal but needs to be aware of losing Power Herb due to Knock Off on the switch. However, Yveltal is able to heavily damage it using Dual Wingbeat, and threatens to KO it with Max Airstream after some prior damage or a Hone Claws boost. scarf zac-h can be mentioned here as well

**Tyranitar**: Tyranitar is able to wall Yveltal due to its typing, good bulk, and Defense, and typing. Tyranitar and can also heavily damage Yveltal using Rock Tomb and cripple it using Thunder Wave. However, Steel Wing can heavily damage Tyranitar and Max Steelspike is able to OHKO a slightly chipped Tyranitar.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Physically defensive walls such as Zygarde-C are able to wall Yveltal to somewhat comfortably extent. Zygarde-C can switch-in, paralyze it with Glare and safely Coil or remove boosts with Haze. However, Yveltal is able to heavily damage Zygarde using Knock Off Zygarde-C's Leftovers and can 2HKO slightly chipped Zygarde-C using Max Darkness, or OHKO untransformed Zygarde-C with +1 Max Darkness with just a slight amount of chip. you can maybe mention phys def groudon, otherwise you may as well rename this section to "Physically Defensive Zygarde-C"

you should also mention ditto here

**Ditto**: Ditto can revenge kill Yveltal while at low health but risks losing Choice Scarf to Knock Off making it less effective as a revenge killer. Also, Yveltal is able to deal more damage to it due to Life Orb and Ditto's lower HP.
