Skuntank hosts powerful STAB options, priority, and an array of status moves, making it a great offensive threat and support Pokemon. Furthermore, Skuntank's great defensive typing makes it a solid switch-in for foes like Gogoat and Indeedee-F. Crunch is Skuntank's best way to hit targets such as Misdreavus and Indeedee-F, but if instead running only two attacks, Skuntank can use Poison Jab over Gunk Shot for a reliable attack alongside Sucker Punch. Taunt can stop moves from slower foes that may try to abuse or cripple Skuntank such as Tinkatuff's Thunder Wave, Carbink's Iron Defense or Trick Room, as well as entry hazards from both. Toxic is another way to threaten bulky threats like Misdreavus if not running Crunch, Carbink, Gogoat, and Alolan Persian. Toxic Spikes punishes foes that don't hold Heavy-Duty Boots such as Gabite and Choice item Basculin, although it can be less reliable with the abundance of Heavy-Duty Boots in the metagame. If Skuntank is no longer needed, Aftermath allows it to punish contact moves from foes like Honchkrow and Flapple. Tera Dark makes Sucker Punch a more reliable revenge killing option while further boosting Crunch's damage. Tera Ground allows Skuntank to serve as a Volt Switch blocker and pairs well with Tera Blast to hit opposing Skuntank and Tinkatuff. Tera Flying can lure Ground moves like Charizard and Dugtrio's Earthquake to more easily pick them off in addition to removing Skuntank's weakness to Ground.

With Skuntank only weak to Ground-types like Whiscash, allies that can absorb Ground-type attacks such as Gogoat, Flapple, and Rotom-F come in handy. Whiscash also makes a good partner to help with threats like Alolan Dugtrio and Tinkatuff, while Skuntank can deal with said Grass-types. Skuntank's Toxic and Toxic Spikes pair well with bulky Pokemon like Dachsbun and Articuno to stall out foes. Dachsbun's Wish also helps with longevity, while Articuno can absorb Ground attacks. Misdreavus is a notably great teammate, as it offers a Ground immunity, can cripple threats such as Gabite and Perrserker with Will-O-Wisp, and can spinblock. Misdreavus can also run Hex to benefit from any poisoned foes. Item removal, such as Banette's Knock Off and Indeedee-F's Trick, can get rid off foes' Heavy-Duty Boots to benefit Toxic Spikes. Indeedee-F can also help with Skuntank's longevity via Healing Wish, although it is notable that its Psychic Surge temporarily hinders Skuntank's Sucker Punch. While being the best Toxic Spikes setter, Skuntank is also the best way to remove Toxic Spikes with the lack of hazard removal in the metagame. This is appreciated by non-Heavy-Duty Boots Pokemon like Gabite and Assault Vest Crabominable.

Skuntank hosts powerful STAB options, priority and an array of status moves, making it a great offensive threat and support Pokemon. Furthermore, Skuntank's great defensive typing makes it a solid switchin for foes like Lilligant and Indeedee-F. Crunch is Skuntank's best way to hit targets such as Midreavus and Indeedee-F, but if instead running only two attacks, Skuntank should can use Poison Jab over Gunk Shot for a reliable attack alongside Sucker Punch i don't necessarily agree with this, most of the time u want gunk shot's extra power but a mention of pjab is fine. Taunt can stop moves from slower foes that may try to abuse or cripple Skuntank such as Tinkatuff's Thunder Wave, Carbink's Iron Defense or Trick Room, as well as hazards from both. Toxic is another way to threaten bulky threats like Misdreavus u can add a few more examples like carbink and gogoat if not running Crunch and Alolan Persian. Toxic Spikes punishes foes that don't hold Heavy-Duty Boots such as Gabite and Choice-item Basculin-Blue-Striped. i'd shortly explain here why toxic is preferred over tspikes in the current meta with boots and all. Rocky Helmet trades longevity for pairing well with Aftermath to punish contact moves from foes like Honchkrow and Flapple honestly don't think rocky helm is even worth mentioning in the current meta, instead i'd like this to be a point about aftermath and how to use it to chip a physical threat like tauros if skunk is no longer needed in a game. Black Glasses and Tera Dark both make Sucker Punch a more reliable revenge killing option while further boosting Crunch's average base power, with the latter also removing Skuntank's Ground weakness idt glasses is slash worthy but this mention is fine to keep. Tera Ground allows Skuntank to serve as a backup voltblocker and pairs well with Tera Blast to hit opposing Skuntank and Tinkatuff. Tera Flying can lure Ground moves like Charizard and Dugtrio's Earthquake to more easily pick them off.

With Skuntank's one weakness being Ground add some examples of ground-types that these grasses can switch into reliably, like whiscash, allies that can absorb these attacks such as Gogoat, Lilligant, and Rotom-Frost Rotom-F come in handy what does skunk do for them in return?. Skuntank's Toxic and Toxic Spikes pair well with bulky Pokemon like Dachsbun and Articuno to stall out foes. Dachsbun's Wish also helps with longevity while Articuno can absorb Ground attacks. Item removal such as Banette's Knock Off and Indeedee-F's Trick can get rid off foes' Heavy-Duty Boots to benefit Toxic Spikes. Indeedee-F can also help with Skuntank's longevity via Healing Wish, although it is notable that its Psychic Surge temporarily disables Skuntank's Sucker Punch. While being the best Toxic Spikes setter, Skuntank is also the best way to remove Toxic Spikes with the lack of hazard removal. This is appreciated by non-Heavy-Duty Boots Pokemon like Gabite and Assault Vest Crabominable. Finally, Misdreavus is a great teammate as it can spinblock, offer a Ground immunity, and cripple threats such as Gabite and Perrserker with Will-O-Wisp. Misdreavus can also run Hex to benefit from any poisoned foes.

whiscash is another partner that works well with skunk, it's able to switch into threats like wigtrio fairly comfortably and can take advantage of persian trying to taunt/twave skunk, and in return it appreciates skunk being able to handle grasses like gogoat for it.

there's a very big emphasis on tspikes in the second paragraph when in boots meta these hardly ever put in work; even out common scarfers (wigtrio, frosttom, scarf skunk) don't care about it and almost everything else runs boots. you did talk about item control which is great, i'd probably just move any bullet centered around tspikes to the bottom of the paragraph since tspikes just aren't really effective in the current metagame and it's the least important part to cover here.

Skuntank hosts powerful STAB options, priority, (ac) and an array of status moves, making it a great offensive threat and support Pokemon. Furthermore, Skuntank's great defensive typing makes it a solid switchin switch-in for foes like Gogoat and Indeedee-F. Tera Dark makes Sucker Punch a more reliable revenge killing option while further boosting Crunch's damage. (ap) average base power, with the latter also removing Skuntank's Ground weakness. this seems out of place; what is it for, because Crunch isn't removing a weakness to Ground? Tera Ground allows Skuntank to serve as a backup voltblocker Volt Switch blocker backup to what? nothing about another was mentioned prior, so i removed it and pairs well with Tera Blast to hit opposing Skuntank and Tinkatuff. Tera Flying can lure Ground moves like Charizard and Dugtrio's Earthquake to more easily pick them off in addition to removing Skuntank's weakness to Ground moved that section from earlier here; i think this is where you want it?.

With Skuntank's one weakness being Skuntank only weak to Ground-types like Whiscash, allies that can absorb these Ground-type attacks such as Gogoat, Flapple, (ac) and Rotom-F come in handy. Indeedee-F can also help with Skuntank's longevity via Healing Wish, although it is notable that its Psychic Surge temporarily disables hinders mostly changing this because you can use it; it just gets blocked Skuntank's Sucker Punch. While being the best Toxic Spikes setter, Skuntank is also the best way to remove Toxic Spikes with the lack of hazard removal in the metagame assuming you mean this. This is appreciated by non-Heavy-Duty Boots Pokemon like Gabite and Assault Vest Crabominable.
