Hello people of smogon, I have been a long time lurker, but this is my first time posting, so I apoligize if I've messed up any formatting. I am currently 1204 on the ubers ladder as I am quite new but I am looking to climb. I am open to any and all suggestions. I have also included my thought process with each pokemon.
Here is the team so far:
Zacian-Crowned @ Rusted Sword
Ability: Intrepid Sword
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+spe - spa)
- Behemoth Blade
- Play Rough
- Sacred Sword
- Swords Dance
I am using Zacian here because it is one of my favorite pokemon, and I like the fact that it counters miraidon, koraidon, and eternatus quite well. I have attempted to build my team around it. Behemoth blade and play rough because STAB, and Sacred sword to provide coverage. Swords dance is for (hopefully) setting up sweeps when my opponent switches out, and jolly nature is to outspeed miraidon and koraidon.
Kyogre @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Origin Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Calm Mind
This is the bread to my zacian's butter. Kyogre is here primarily to mess with ground and fire types which threaten zacian. I am using origin pulsae instead of water spout because of its reliability even at low health. Ice beam and Thunder are there for covereage while Calm Mind is there to make it stay alive longer and potentially be a future threat.
Arceus-Ground @ Earth Plate
Ability: Multitype
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Judgment
- Ice Beam
- Taunt
- Energy Ball
This pokemon is here to save kyogre in the event of a powerful electric type entering the field. Judgement ground is a nice, high power move with good covereage, while Ice beam and Power gem are there to counter grass and water types respectively while taunt is there to counter setup
Miraidon @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Hadron Engine
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Electro Drift
- Dragon Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Taunt
My other powerful sweeper. I chose Miraidon over Koraidon for 2 reasons:
1: Sun empowers fire types which are not great for zacian, and electric terrain can be countered by arceus ground incase stuff goes wrong
2: I already have a physical attacker with a fighting type move
I have decided to go with dragon pulse over draco meteor because I want to set up with calm mind, however that may not be the best idea because when I battle I usually don't have it out for long.

EVs: 128 Def / 128 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock

- Mortal Spin
- Power Gem
My first of 2 support pokemon. Stealth rock, Spikes, and Toxic spikes are a good combination of hazards, especially considering Poison types are quite rare (or atleast I haven't seen them much). Mortal spin is there to deal damage to rapid spinners and then switch out, while power gem is there for coverage
Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Core
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 180 Def / 80 SpD
Careful Nature
- Poltergeist
- Dragon Tail
- Will-O-Wisp
- Defog
My second support pokemon. Its typing makes it immune to rapid spin, while poltergeist deals big damage when used in conjunction with STAB and Griseous Core. Dragon tail and Will-O-Wisp are there to hopefully stop sweepers, while Defog is here as a last line of defense if I'm really losing in the hazard war.
Disclaimer: I have made this team with a lot of the help from the smogon sets so many of the movesets will look very similar.
