Pokémon GO

Well, I tend to keep focus on catching. Battling, while I do many times, tend to cost as many healing supplies as I get them.

As of now, from 1500:
250 Potions
100 Revives (90 max revives)
30 Raid pass
45+41+585 Balls
75+63 TM
169 Rare Candies (normally 150 or 200)
100 regular berries
272 Golden berries
18 evo items (will remove unused ones)
40 incubators
The rest are miscellaneous premium items.
I'm trying to look to using Lucky Eggs, 61 and feels like waste to just discard them.
And looking to stack research encounters to use star pieces too, 80+ here. Last time I do that I got more than 25k dusts thanks to streak bonus and quick throw trick, even though it was depleted halfway.
Berries are the hardest to regulate. I tend to not discard them and feed my mon with it instead, particularly in non-Gold gyms (1 berry gives equivalent of 10 minutes defending. 6 already means an hour and focusing on that quickly adds up to 1 or 2 days worth of defending.)
Nanab is useless, it's immediate fodder for defending mon. With a lot of Gold berry, Razz is also useless.
TM is also hard to regulate since I can't think of discarding them, yet I have many....

Oh, and Gifts don't count toward the bag limit.

Anyway, welcome back, normal life. Maybe we can have a bit of rest from raiding please? I didn't manage to even encounter M2 higher than 2259, but oh well... I'd rather rest now.

I guess I'm going to throw out some recovery items (maybe limit to 30 each) since I can recoup them pretty quickly from not battling a lot and make room for more Poke Balls. Probably going to start using my Lucky Eggs more freely e.g. even during catch EXP bonus on Community Days as well, though we're not getting that bonus during Beldum Day.

Also, we have a one-week extension

Good news, Trainers! You now have extra time to hatch Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros in 7 km Eggs! These Pokémon are available through October 8.

Actually nope, I take back my words. Mewtwo stays. Probably indeed until Oct 23rd, while Kanto spawn ends. I... just want to have some rest.
... at least there's always AloRaichu to solo. I need maybe one more for future PLGEevee.
At least these event spawn ends. It had helped some researches (Like "catch 5 Fires" for Silver Pail), but other time hinders some others. :pikuh:
And I consistently, ironically see no Pikachu spawning during it, and found only one stray Eevee.

At least that's Kanto dex completed. Aside of Mew which I hold back until next year's Mew Day.

I'm noticing that gifts and gyms won't fuckin cough up potions or revives. This isn't a coincidence either, lots of people've been noticing it. As somebody who doesn't raid 10 times a day, this is actually a bit of a pain. You can't even buy medicines unless it's 10 Max Potions at a time or like a few Max Revives at a time. So annoying.

Saving Rare Candies for Gen 4, which I actually care about. I don't power up my Kyogre or my Mewtwo or whatever. I did put 200k dust into shiny Meganium, though. I do plan on blowing some candies on Palkia, he's my bro.

In the last month, I've scored shiny Golem, Growlithe, Grimer, Magikarp, Chikorita, Bayleef, Meganium, Moltres, Natu, Wingull, Pelipper, and Swablu. Even without the obvious six, this is got to've been one of my best months for shinies. Hopefully I can keep it going.

Is there any advice people have for catching community day when I'm working? How do you ask for days off to catch community days?

YOUVE SPENT 200K DUST ON MEGANIUM?!

Lol yeah. It's not half-bad in gyms. Definitely outperforms:

If it's your favorite or you like it, more power to you. Meganium is a waste of dust if you are seriously investing however.

My bag consists of Max Potions, Revives / Max Revives, Ultra Balls, Fast / Charged TMs, 1000+ Rare Candy, and a limit of 200 Golden Razzes before I start using them up. In short it's not easy to micromanage and throw out half of my items every day. Waiting for Gen 4 to deposit Rare Candies has been an issue, but at least Deoxys (of which I now have, yay!) might ease some of the burden if I decide to ever power up the Attack Forme.

Speaking of the alien virus here's what we know from the first few Ex Raids:

1) Regular Tier 5 HP. It is SUPER easy to beat. I duo'd mine with one other person. 20 people lobbies can kill it in 30 seconds, it's whack.
2) Psycho Boost is still horrible and ergo Deoxys is absolutely atrocious.
3) Only the Normal Forme is out. No random Forme spawning after the raid or anything.
4) You cannot trade Deoxys, so no Lucky. Might be addressed later.
5) Was confirmed before but Deoxys can be transferred.

How DARE you say that about Dust Dump? You laugh now, but when your blissey comes back crying after being defeated by a fucking Meganium, we'll see who has the last laugh.

If you want me to power a meta Pokemon up, just wait for Gen 4. I max out Pokemon I love, which would include Palkia for sure. Maybe Mamoswine too. I put dust into Blissey too sometimes.

I've also put dust into Blastoise and Forretress. But there's also a maxed out 100% Alolan Muk, a maxed out Alolan Exeggutor, a maxed out Blaziken, and dust put into shiny Espeon, shiny Charizard, and shiny Tyranitar.

Your Meganium managed to beat a full-CP Blissey on its own?

Given that Blissey is pretty difficult to raise (5km buddy, and most people don't put their Rare Candies on anything not Legendary), I can imagine at least, a Lv40 Meganium beating Lv30ish Blissey. I at least did that with mid-level Vaporeon back then.

Yes, I'm now here proud with few A Rank Vaporeons sitting on 3000+ CP, and especially maxed out S Rank Vaporeon "Aikawa". What, Stardust investment? 2.8M dusts sitting here.
And despite having a lot of Mewtwo which easily invalidate them, I plan to extend this to Espeon, raising Mitsuhiko, Hikaru, and maybe even Last Resort-using Mitsunari. It doesn't have to be meta things, some people are sick with it. Fun matters.

Chanderule, Meganium can beat some mid level Blissey, yeah. Frenzy Plant is good, and in this new gym system, the meta is not as intense as sites like Game Press make it out to be. I could put dust into Kyogre, but Kyogre is just such a one-sided Pokemon. It just uses Waterfall and Hydro Pump, and that's it. My Water attacker is mainly shiny Blastoise with glasses, who has a unique moveset, and a lot of charm with the whole sunglasses thing.

PsychicAcademic Oh, you're one of those huh? Is your Glalie named Yuki-chan or something? (no hard feelings, though, im not trying to be rude)

... what? What Glalie?
I do have Froslass named Yukino in UM, but that's it....?

Glalie isn't out though
It's been out for nearly a year. The only Gen 3 Pokémon not out in Go are Kecleon, Nincada / Ninjask / Shedinja, Clamperl / Gorebyss / Huntail, and Jirachi.

All of Gen 1 is out and Gen 2 only has Smeargle missing.

But why? Unless its your favourite (or one of favourite) Pokemon, why spend precious dust on something like that when you have better options availible
Sceptile will be interesting, par example

PsychicAcademic In reference to a Glalie you might hypothetically have in PoGo.
Hmm... not really, though :smogthink: I mean, I'm not interested in Glalie. Froslass, maybe, although then again she does poorly in GO to have me notice her unlike in main series games. Besides, that makes me sound like using "Fluffy the Terrible" trope, naming something like Glalie "Yuki-chan"....
... I admit I do name my top Tyranitars "Matcha" and "Wasabi", aside of variations of "Gojira" (aka Godzilla). And my Slaking (Kekking in Japanese) Cake (Keeki) and TOP KEK.

Then again, yes. Just naming my mon by their IV specifications like many hardcore players do feels like going against my usual playing style. When I like them, I want to name them like I do usually in main Pokemon games, just so I don't feel like I'm just treating them as killing machines. I can still remember their moves just by their name.

It's Shiny tho. I'm sure it is indeed because it is a favourite. I also admit that it is pretty, like it is how Chikorita family would grow in Autumn.

Anyway, my first Deoxys. 1526 CP, not so impressive. As noted previously, even Eevee has better bulk than this thing. Oh well, it was Pinapped anyway, thanks to its 6% catch rate, although I needed to adjust my throw as I was too used to curve-Excellent throwing at Mewtwos.
One note though, it is really frail, so frail that it 2HKOed my Mewtwo with consecutive Thunderbolts just after its first normal attack by damage Energy gain.

Chanderule Well for one, people being "offended" at how I power something up that isn't meta is certainly amusing. I like using the community day Pokemon, I guess. I'll power up Sceptile in March 2019 when the respective community day comes up. As far as meta grass types go, I have Venusaur and an Exeggutor army, though.
