also there's absolutely nothing stopping them from making a brand new move for Lucario in Champions/Gen 10, and this also includes every other mega.Considering the context of how moves with names that contain a specific Japanese word that translates to both "aura" and "wave" are what qualify for the Mega Launcher boost, I'd say the possibility shouldn't be ruled out. An ability that increases move damage could also be a good way to compensate for most of the Mega's BST boost (presumably) going to defenses and Speed. This isn't even getting into how Game Freak can just make an identical clone ability with a different name for flavor. They aren't exactly a stranger to that.
Besides, Lucario is heavily associated with Aura Sphere. Giving it a form where that move in particular becomes its best STAB option just makes sense.
A new distribution has begun for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This distribution came through a Nintendo Newsletter in Japan and provides 5 Max Revives, 10 Full Restores and 10 Ultra Balls to help prepare for ZA Royales, Rogue Mega Evolution battles and catching Pokémon in anticipation of the coming DLC. The code is PREPAR1NG and runs until March 31st 2027
Well we already saw with Zygarde that they don't mind the idea of having moves that change on mega evolving, so those *are* a possibility.
Whenever those actually will come to main series / champions, that's a separate can of cookies.
I certainly hope so with respect to the new Megas having more signature moves or effects. Something GameFreak has been getting right in the last two generations is making more Pokemon with both flavorful and competitively relevant signature abilities or moves. Things like Purifying Salt / Salt Cure Garganacl or Ice Face Eiscue come to mind. I just hope they change some of the older Mega's abilities, especially ones that were always lackluster or outright bad, like Audino or the Mewtwos. It would feel criminal to see Mega Gallade in Champions without Sharpness, for example.I expect every new Mega from Z-A to get a signature move or a conditional power-up to one of their moves. We've already seen precedents with Ash-Greninja getting a powered-up Water Shuriken and Mega Zygarde-Complete getting an upgrade to Core Enforcer upon Mega Evolving. With Gamefreak's design philosophy in Gen 9 of making as many mons as souped-up as possible, I see Gamefreak giving the new Megas all a signature move or conditional power-up to one of their moves to help them shine in comparison to old mons when they come to Champions since Champions is coming out during the year of the 30th anniversary of Pokemon much like how Scarlet/Violet was developed as plans for the 25th anniversary were being made, making Champions probably also a celebratory work like SV was, meaning it's a good excuse for making as many mons as strong as possible.
Has anyone tested if going up and down this holocasters by Zone 15 would help with the shiny spawns? I've been going back and forth on this roof here between 45 - 70 meters. This is the larvitar spot btw.
I feel like if the Megas were going to get super moves on mega evolution, they, like...Probably would have done that here? In the game where they might be the most usable; depending on a match you might even get to use multiple in a single "round".
Especially when Zygarde (& I guess Water Shuriken using Greninja) already does it.

I think that, if they wanted them all to have conditional or more general signature moves, as part of that design philosophy, they would still have it in this game which would still hypothetically be based around that philosophy and not just dump it all into Champions or Gen 10. Nihil Light is already extra special due to its absurd power, super fancy cutscene, and it seems like Mega Zygarde's stat line and design were effectively built around it. Nothing prevented them from giving other less special moves to all the other megas. You could have easily given Victreebel, I dunno....Gunk Burst, the suped up Gunk Shot. It would almost assuredly never touch Nihil Light in importance or power.Maybe Gamefreak wanted to keep Nihil Light special for Mega Zygarde-Complete since Z-A is a game based on it. Given the design philosophy around Gen 9, it wouldn't surprise me if either all new Megas get a signature move or conditional power-up to one of their moves or a more limited group such as new starter Megas, the new pseudo-legendary Megas, or the Z Megas get that treatment in Champions. Just 'cause you don't see anything aside from Mega Zygarde-Complete getting that treatment in Z-A doesn't mean we won't see the new Megas or a limited selection of the new Megas get that treatment in Champions or in the future.

That's more reasonable, but I still can't wait for both of us to be proven wrong in 3 days and they pull up some random bullshit nobody expected anywayAfter reading the discussion here, I've changed my mind on all the new Megas getting either a signature move or a conditional power-up to one of their moves given Z-Megas are hyped to be more potent and directly tied to Mega Zygarde-Complete, so if any Megas will be getting super moves in Champions, it will only be the Z-Megas such as Mega Lucario, Mega Garchomp, and Mega Absol Z, which belong to a different class of Mega Evolutions. Gamefreak isn't THAT obsessed with making everything broken.

Nice! This is really helpful! I wish I had a Pro Controller because I'd already have my shiny boy. Here's a Shiny Larvitar hunting video that may give you the answer you're looking for and additional tips:
