:blobwizard: Hey there, the voting phase is over now, let us take a look at them. A couple of little things would like to say such as when looking at archives starting from Round 15 and forward will be a * next to featured mons that where mentioned in post highlights, and lastly would appreciate some feedback in the way we do closures with rounds or post highlights if you prefer the voting system or would rather have me and Abhisdn417 being the choose, any form of feedback is appreciated, thank you all for your contribution. Now let's take a look at the results,
F>D>E>A>G>C
B > D > E > F > G > C
A>G>B>F>D>E>C
A>D>F
B>E>D>A>F>G

With that being said it's a four way tie by SLDR, Katy, airfare, and alkazoth will be featured in the archives, great submissions this week and now unto the next round.
Round 19: Choice Band Bisharp
:ss/bisharp:
Bisharp @ Choice Band
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Low Kick / Assurance
Bisharp has proven itself to be a very threatening wallbreaker that deals a great amount of damage and something not many things can safely switch into and an ability in Defiant that makes Landorus-T not be able to switch into it safelt. Access to strong stab moves such as Knock Off punishing anything that switches in and Sucker Punch that can act as a revenge killer making up it's low speed, but at the cost in being exploited without careful predictions. With Low Kick your able to catch off against defensive Steels or Tyranitar on the switch, while Assurance makes it even more threatening forcing switches and doubling it's attack for taking hazards damage on the switch, even better after removing Heavy-Duty Boots to those that rely on it. As usual what pairs well with Bisharp.

Slowking @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Scald
- Future Sight
- Slack Off
- Teleport

Slowking is a great defensive wall and pivot in this metagame because of its ability to check Psychic, Fairy, and Fire-types effectively while being able to pivot out of offensive Pokemon that it walls into faster teammates. In addition to being able to pivot Bisharp in safely via Teleport, Slowking can offer Future Sight support, letting Bisharp break past common checks like Toxapex or Tapu Fini. It also offers defensive utility against Fire and Fighting-type coverage that Bisharp would otherwise struggle with. Choice Band Bisharp and Slowking have been extremely effective partners in this past SPL because of their unique offensive synergy.

landorus-t

:bw/landorus-therian:
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off

Landorus-T can help Bisharp with Stealth Rock and Knock Off, as Stealth Rocks in conjunction with Knock Off weakens the opposing team severely, Landorus-T can also check opposing Landorus-T. Moreover, it can help against Garchomp and other threats such as softchecking Heatran, and furthermore it can check Tapu Koko and Zeraora for Bisharp. Bisharp appreciates these traits given by Landorus-T so Bisharp has it easier breaking teams apart with its massive power. Landorus-T can safely bring Bisharp in, due to the use of U-turn, so Bisharp enters the field un-damaged.
Bisharp on the other hand breaks teams apart in the lategame and together these two dangerous Pokemon can just spam Knock off, as Knock Off in general is a great tool, as the removal of items is very important, to weakening the opposing team and making them susceptible to entry hazards.

These two Pokemon appreciate each others traits and form a great core, as Landorus-T supports Bisharp really well and Bisharp has the chance to break teams apart in the lategame. :landorus-therian:  :bisharp:

iron defense skarmory

:ss/skarmory:

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Roost
- Iron Defense
- Body Press

I particularly like skarmory as a partner for banded bisharp because it provides spikes support to potentially activate defiant later, as well as a useful typing with ground immunity, and great physical bulk to take on many pokemon that can force bisharp out. For example, a weakened bisharp might be forced out by rillaboom, which threatens a grassy glide that denies sucker punch thanks to rillaboom's faster speed tier, or scare bisharp not locked into sucker punch out with superpower. Skarmory can easily answer to all of this pokemon's options, and punish with helmet chip, spikes, or just iron defense against it if it's a swords dance set. Skarmory can also come in on grounds attempting to force out bisharp, such as landorus, sd garchomp lacking fire fang, and sand rush excadrill. It acts as a decent blanket check against fighting coverage in general, such as against band or scarf kartana trying to force bisharp out with sacred sword. Against swords dance kartana sets, skarmory cannot guard against a boosted sacred sword, as it ignores the boosts from iron defense, but it can still at least get off a strong body press against it, and force helmet chip, which can severely weaken even a completely healthy kartana.

Kyurem@Choice Specs
Ability:Pressure
EVs:252 SpA / 4 SpD /252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Draco Meteor
-Freeze-Dry
-Ice Beam
-Earth Power
Kyurem makes for a good partner with Bisharp in part because it helps bisharp break the bulky waters that stand in its such as toxapex but also because kyurem appretiates bisharp's Ability to pressure defoggers and together they make for a terrific wallbreaking duo that makes balance teams have to sack a mon whenever they are on the field

:ss/ferrothorn:

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Power Whip
- Iron Defense
- Grass Knot
Considering Bisharp's weakness to ground, Ferrothorn allows it to stall itself and help Bisharp get early kills with Sucker Punch. Sure there's a weakness to fire, but I don't think they'll be used here. If you use a Stealth Rock to predict Lando-T switching in, you can 2HKO it with Power Whip, or let Bisharp finish the job. Meanwhile at best, Lando-T only 3HKOs, however a weakness comes forth with fighting types like Urshifu and Hawlucha. If you use your Iron Defense wisely, Hawlucha (and Ferro) can only 3HKO. If you use Iron Defense twice, Urshifu-Rapid-Strike at best only has a 34.4% chance to 2HKO. You can practically stall with Ferro then switch out for Bisharp for easy kills. Rocky Helmet and Iron Barbs are for damaging opponents while they are trying to KO you, but with Stealth Rock it makes relative ease to just sweep with Bisharp in the end.
252+ Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 0 HP / 12 Def Landorus-Therian: 186-219 (58.3 - 68.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: 342-404 (100.2 - 118.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Round 20
:ss/Zamazenta-Crowned:
Zamazenta-Crowned @ Rusted Shield
Ability: Dauntless Shield
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Howl
- Close Combat
- Behemoth Bash

- Wild Charge

This pokemon is currently being suspected in OU and is the focus of the tier currently. With amazing base stats and impressive speed its able to sweep rather well with Howl. Wild Charge allows it to bypass some of it's common checks like Corviknight, Slowbro, and Skarmory making it even harder to deal with. It's great fighting-type STAB lets it abuse Future Sight rather well too. With that being said what do you think pairs well with Zamazenta-C?

oh kyurem again? i must have caught a cold
this set acts as a great partner for Zamazenta Crowned because it can lure and dispose of many of its common checks such as Toxapex, Slowbro, and Zapdos, together with Zamazenta crowned they make for a terrififc core on Screens Hyper Offense teams

Reserving tapu koko

:ss/tapu koko:

Tapu Koko @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- U-turn
- Roost

Tapu Koko makes for a phenomenal partner for Zamazenta-Crowned as it is able to reliably pressure the bulky waters such as Toxapex and Slowbro and the flying types such as Corviknight, Skarmory, Zapdos and Moltres. It also supercharges Zamazenta's Wild Charge with Electric Terrain making it more difficult to counter reliably. It generates momentum by U-turning against switchins such as Blissey, Ferrothorn and brings Zamazenta in safely. However, the duo shares a ground weakness which requires some team support to offset.

:sm/clefable:
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 7 Spe
- Wish
- Teleport
- Moonblast
- Protect

Someone WILL mention Future Sight Slowking/Slowbro anyway, which are amazing, so I'm taking an entirely different route. This thread is not about winning, but rather showcasing potential strategies.
One of Zamazenta-C's worst nightmares is chip damage. Between Rocky Helmet, Spikes and Wild Charge recoil stacking up, it is bound to get chipped down to range of getting revenge killed by faster threats or ko'd by the few defensive Pokémon that can actually deal damage to it.
WishPort Clefable can effortlessly restore its HP AND provide safe switch in opportunities due to how broken Wish+Teleport is in a vacuum. Teleport alone is a great support move for Zamazenta-C for obvious reasons. Clefable also draws in many Steel types, which Zamazenta-C can pummel with Close Combat. Defensive Clefable also checks some threats to Zama (especially if Adamant, which is definitely a requirement to reliably deliver 2HKOs) like CB Weavile and Zeraora. On a balance team, which this Clefable definitely belongs to, you can use WishPort for any teammate which improves longevity.

MOVESET: pretty mandatory for WishPort Clefable
EVs: Physically defensive for Weavile, Zeraora and physically defensive Ground types like Lando, Garchomp and Hippowdon (Clefable being able to blanket check them is useful for a Zamazenta-C team)
IVs: 0 Atk like every special attacker around to minimize Foul Play damage. 7 Spe IVs to be faster than Hippowdon while being as slow as possible.

Zeraora @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Plasma Fists
- Knock Off
- Close Combat
- Grass Knot

Premise is pretty simple. Pair Zama with a mon with similar checks with Bulky Grounds while also beating bulky waters and beating Corviknight. Knock Off gets rid of Lando's leftovers, meaning that it can only come in a limited amount of times with rocks up. The big move here is grass knot, which 2HKOes PhysDef Hippo. If it's SpDef, then Zama wins the 1v1 anyways, and Zera still does 40%. Chomp is still annoying to both, but Knock will either get rid of the Rocky Helmet on Tankchomp, or chip offensive Garchomp so it can only switch in once or twice before its overwhelmed by a +1 CC from Zama

:bw/magnezone:
Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 Def / 116 SpA / 140 Spe
Bold Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Discharge / Thunderbolt
- Substitute / Toxic

Magnezone is a good ally for Zamazenta-C because of its ability to trap Steel-types like Skarmory and Corviknight that otherwise counter Zamazenta-C. It also helps out common Zamaenta-C teammates, including Rillaboom, Kartana, and Zeraora, bypass these same shared checks and wallbreak or sweep more easily. In addition to trapping Steel-types, Magnezone also exerts lots of pressure on defensive Water-types, including Toxapex, Slowking, and Slowbro, with a Discharge paralysis or Substitute opportunity when switched in. These walls would otherwise be able to switch into Zamazenta-C and burn it or pivot out into a faster revenge killer via Teleport.

reserving alola ninetales
:ss/ninetales-alola:
Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Aurora Veil
- Freeze-Dry
- Hail
- Hypnosis

Ninetales-Alola is a great match for Zamazenta-Crowned as Ninetales-Alola can set up dual screens (Aurora Veil) for Zamazenta-Crowned to support it with setting up Howls. It increases its already formidable bulk on both ends, the physical side and the special side, and upon the switch on the battlefield, Zamazenta-Crowned gets a +1 due to its ability in Dauntless Shield and this gets increased by Aurora Veil, so Zamazenta-Crowned is really hard to revengekill and to check.
In addition to that Ninetales-Alola can help to put foes to sleep with Hypnosis, granting Zamazenta-Crowned yet another opportunity to set up behind Aurora Veil.
In Return Zamazenta-Crowned can handle the Steel-types Ninetales-Alola struggles with such as Magnezone, Heatran, and Ferrothorn. Zamazenta-Crowned also gets supported well by Ninetales-Alola due to it being able to threaten Garchomp and Landorus-T.

In general both appreciate each other and Ninetales-Alola supports Zamazenta-Crowned very well, whereas Zamazenta-Crowned can deal with Steel-types. :ninetales-alola:  :zamazenta-crowned:

reserving heatran

:bw/heatran:

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 128 SpD / 128 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic

Heatran makes a great partner for Zamazenta-C because it can beat out many of Zama's checks and counters. It has the ability to trap and remove Toxapex, threatens to KO Skarmory and Corviknight, and is able to put annoyances to Zama such as Hippowdon, Garchomp, and Landorus on a timer with Toxic. It's particularly useful in stall matchups, being able to break through defensive cores between magma, taunt and toxic, while Zama improves a team's matchup against offensive teams. In all, its a very punishing pokemon for most teams in general to switch into, and is great at forcing progress in matchups where Zama isn't immediately able to break or clean.

:ss/rillaboom:

Rillaboom @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- U-turn

Grassy Terrain weakens Earthquake for Zamazenta-C, turning Landorus-T, Hippowdon and Garchomp into setup fodder and providing Zamazenta-C with passive recovery. Rillaboom also forces in and uses Knock Off on Volcarona and Zapdos, and removes Rocky Helmets in general. With proper prediction you can also expect the Slowbro / Toxapex switch to bring Rillaboom in and force some damage, while they wear down shared checks like Corviknight, Skarmory and Buzzwole.

:sm/tapu lele:

Tapu Lele @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock / Thunderbolt
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Psychic / Thunderbolt

As Zamazenta-Crowned often forces building trends that tend to make some Pokemon either weaker to Tapu Lele or tends to force building which Zamazenta-Crowned can easily provide switchins for, Tapu Lele ends up being a very solid partner for Zamazenta-Crowned, forcing out the likes of Zapdos, Slowbro and Toxapex that are commonly used as answers to Zamazenta-Crowned, and pressures common switchins to Zamazenta-Crowned, like Corviknight and Skarmory that would otherwise be capable of answering Tapu Lele decently if Zamazenta-Crowned did not force a physically defensive spread on them. This even extends to softer answers like Landorus-Therian, Hippowdon and Rocky Helmet Tangrowth - the combination of Zamazenta-Crowned and Tapu Lele even pressures the minor checks like Aegislash and Victini so hard to the point where they are unable to deal with continued assaults by both of them.
