Welp, Enamorus got literally nothing for Contrary. Hopefully it gets more things when it does come to gen 9, but for now, it'll be a defensive ability at best (at least it doesn't need it now since Contrary isn't on Legends, but anyway, I hoped for at least one move like Superpower, which was standard for other genies).

If you'll look closely, you'll notice dual-defense punching bags like Umbreon and Probopass can more than double their base attacking stats with one turn of setup. As a stern advocate of offensive Cresselia, I've got to remark I'm pleased by the frankly bullcrap moves being tossed her way in this game.

Dusknoir has Shadow Sneak as its strongest Physical Ghost move.
Hoho. Hohoho. Boy, do I have a move to sell you. Ever wondered what Dusknoir could do with base 135 SpA?

I misread this multiple times as "celesteela" and not "cresselia," wondering how we knew it was going to get that move.

Interesting to see some new Pokemon get access to Recover. Mesprit is the only one of the Lake Guardians to get Recover interesting, but I'm happy 'cause Mesprit is my fave of the three hands down. The other two get Power Shift though...that's kinda funny and it would be hilarious to see Glass Cannon Uxie with insane damage output but the bulk of glass, and Bulky Tank Azelf who has relatively weak offensive output after the opposite is normally true for them.

Shaymin, Lilligant, and Gardevoir all getting Recover is an interesting case. They would all definitely appreciate that. Sleep Powder Shaymin is *shudder*...terrifying to say the least.

Machamp getting Drain Punch...finally it gets something to make it up to par with its Unovan brother Conkeldurr. Now all it needs is Mach Punch and Conkeldurr won't have that advantage anymore.

So Gallade not only gets CC nerfed, but also gains literally nothing in his debut gen and "loses" night slash since the move doesn't exist. No stat buffs either.
Gardevoir on the other hand has received mystical fire, aura sphere, recover, ice beam in the span of a gen and half, while pretty much every other Sinnoh mon gets meaningful buffs and additions to their movepools despite Gallade being competitively worse than most of them.
Jeez GF what has the poor guy done to you, get your shit together and make him better for Arceus' sake.
Night Slash does still exist, it's just that Gallade itself doesn't learn it.

So he also lost a move, for no reason whatsoever. Great, fantastic even. More fuel to the fire. When will this agony end?

Anyway, lots of good additions to movesets, and the new mons look very interesting. Basculegion-F might be the go-to choice since their movepool is pretty barren and it's going to be a Shadow Ball bot anyway, although the Male version could use the speed Wake Crash provides and tank some damage wih its fat 120 base HP. Sneasler can't touch gliscor nor poison types but it seems pretty good regardless, Ursaluna looks more broken each passing second now that we know it has Ground CC and will keep Ursaring's massive movepool when (and ofc if) it will be transferable in the future games.
