Polteageist [QC 1/1] [GP 0/1]

Polteageist @ White Herb
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shell Smash
- Shadow Ball
- Stored Power
- Giga Drain

Who knew a teapot could be this scary? With a great setup move in shell smash, good ability and decent movepool, Polteageist shows that destruction can come in all shapes and sizes. Shadow Ball is a powerful STAB move capable of OHKOing or 2HKOing most of the tier, while stored power blows through normal types immune to Shadow Ball such as Snorlax and Porygon2. Lastly, Polteageist can use Giga Drain to damage Dark-types like Obstagoon which are immune to both Shadow Ball and Stored Power all while recovering health at the same time. Giga Drain also has the added benefit of hitting water types like Gastrodon and Milotic for Super-Effective damage. While Polteageist is a beast in every sense of the word, it still appreciates partners that can make up for its shortcomings. Pokemon such as Shell Smash Barbaracle or Dragon Dance Flygon make great partners for Polteageist as they can take advantage of its counters like Umbreon and Incineroar. Polteageist sweeps can also be cut short by status ailments such as Poison or Paralysis, which means that it appreciates Misty Terrain support from the likes of Galarian Weezing.

"Even if Polteageist has Giga Drain, Dark-types such as Incineroar still give it trouble. Hence, Fighting-types such as Cobalion and Ground-types such as Flygon make good teammates for it"
id rather see you mention mons that can take advantage of umb/incin being forced in after a polt set-up as itll really only get one setup opportunity in a game. stuff like ss barb or specifically dd flygon

Who knew a teapot could be this scary? With a great setup move in Shell Smash, good ability, (AC) and decent movepool, Polteageist shows that destruction can come in all shapes and sizes. Shadow Ball is a powerful STAB move capable of OHKOing or 2HKOing most of the tier, while Stored Power blows through Normal-(AH)types immune to Shadow Ball (kind of redundant, they're all immune to shadow ball.) such as Snorlax and Porygon2. Lastly, Polteageist can use Giga Drain to damage Dark-types like Obstagoon which are immune to both Shadow Ball and Stored Power that would otherwise wall it all while recovering health at the same time. Giga Drain also has the added benefit of hitting Water-(AH)types like Gastrodon and Milotic for Super-Effective super effective damage. While Polteageist is a beast in every sense of the word, it still appreciates partners that can make up for its shortcomings. Pokemon such as Shell Smash Barbaracle or and Dragon Dance Flygon make great partners for Polteageist, (AC) as they can take advantage of its counters like Umbreon and Incineroar. Polteageist's sweeps can also be cut short by status ailments such as poison or paralysis, which means that it appreciates Misty Terrain support from the likes of Galarian Weezing.

Hi! Sorry for those inconvenienced by this, but due to the striking similarities this spotlight has with the on-site Polteageist analysis (word-for-word kind of thing), we will be reassigning this. Thanks for understanding!
