So I've never posted on here, but I've been lurking for a few years now. I've been battling competitively for about 2 1/2 years now and I need help. I primarily need to improve in the new Dream World OU tier. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My team is as follows:
Toxicroak- Leftovers, Dry Skin, Jolly
-Bulk up, Drain Punch, Substitute, Sucker Punch
-252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Defense
I use Toxicroak as a late sweeper. Once the weather war is won, I can switch him into scalds and proceed to sub and see where that goes. Bulk up over swords dance allows me to attempt to outlive some EQs.
Politoed- Choice Scarf, Drizzle, Timid
-Focus Blast, Hydro Pump, Hidden Power Grass, Ice Beam
-252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 4 Defense
The rain master. Usually the scarf will catch most teams off guard as they switch their bulky jirachis in to get smashed by two hyrdo pumps in a row.
Jolteon- Life Orb, Volt Absorb, Timid
-Shadow Ball, Thunder, Volt Switch, Hidden Power Ice
-252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 4 Defense
Special power house, I debated between specs and life orb and decided I don't like getting locked into things as I usually over-predict ground switch ins and end up locked into HP Ice. Jolteon sponges electric attacks aimed at Politoed/Tentacruel and then fires back with the appropriate move.
Salamence- Focus Sash, Moxie, Naive
-Dragon Claw, Outrage, Fire Blast, Earthquake
-252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Special Attack
I use this set to bluff the choice scarf and hit really hard. Generally an early game tactic. I replaced a lum berry max attack Dragonite with him, but I'm not sure it's super beneficial. The sash is basically to prevent one hits from stone edge and ice beam/punch.
Tentacruel- Leftovers, Rain Dish, Calm
-Rapid Spin, Protect, Scald, Knock Off
-252 HP, 200 Special Defense, 40 Speed, 16 Special Attack
Special Wall. Pretty much tentacruel sponges most special moves well and proceeds to knock off on the switch out. I love knock off, because it surprises most of the usual switch ins and they lose their (generally) choice item.
Skarmory- Leftovers, Sturdy, Impish
-Brave Bird, Stealth Rocks, Roost, Whirlwind
-252 HP, 232 Defense, 24 Special Defense
Defensive wall. He's the one who stops Terakions, Landorus and other such threats. Although I will say he doesn't do well at all agains special attacks that's why I've given him a little more investment there. I've always run SR over Spikes. I'm not really sure I understand the fascination with Spikes, but that's why that's there.
All in all I've found that the new metagame has added a ton of beefed up pokemon so it's pretty difficult to find reliable walls that aren't named Blissey and Ferrothorn. I have a moral obligation to myself to never use them. Sorry. Please don't ask why. Some problems I have are with Latias, Scizor and Rotom-W but I'm not going to post a Threat list, because I couldn't be very accurate with it.
