Awakening references everywhere

Location: Dragon's Table, Sinnoh's Mount Coronet Range.

Three figures walk in silence through the moonlit night. The middle figure is a red-haired young man, dressed in a black coat. His right hand is buried deep inside his pocket; with his left hand, clad in a dark glove, he struggles to keep a few strands of unruly long hair away from his face. To his left walks a four-legged Pokémon; each of its nine long tails is covered with flowing, golden-white fur, and its eyes burn with a mysterious orange glow. To the young man's right walks a second Pokémon, this one with tidy white fur and a dark-grey horn on the side of its head. The Pokémon moves confidently, each stride in absolute silence.

The young man's face tells of both weariness and satisfaction. After all, he has just overcome three challenging battles in a few days, and he must return to his League-mandated obligations by the next morning. Still, by the time the dust settled, he and his two partners had been crowned Tournament Champions! As much as he would have liked to savor their shared victory, he quickly bid his teammates farewell as they made their way towards the bustling metropolis of Castelia City and Slateport City. After all, preparations needed to be made for an upcoming challenge, and the road ahead was anything but short. Still, after a few days' journey, his destination is finally in sight.

It is almost midnight by the time the three figures arrive at the Dragon's Table. The large temple lies before them, as imposing as ever, as they stop for rest at the bottom of the stairwell. As the young trainer wonders to himself if it was perhaps a wiser idea to stay for the night in nearby Hearthome City, his sight follows the moonlight slowly creeping up the structure's ancient walls and spires. Just as the light reaches the summit of the temple's tallest pillar, signalling midnight under the full moon, a terrifying screech shatters the night's silence, freezing the trainer's blood inside his veins. The petrified redhead's silver eyes instinctively shoot up towards the northern sky, from where the horrific sound came. The full moon is obscured for an instant as a massive, three-pointed silhouette is cut out against the night sky. In a matter of seconds, a gargantuan creature of red and black comes into view, towering over the trainer and his Pokémon and landing swiftly onto two of the temple's spires.

The redhead's gloved hand reflexively shoots towards the insides of his coat, searching for a Pokéball to combat the flying beast. Before he can react, however, his two Pokémon step forward in anticipation, and a flash of light catches his attention. Ninetales' eyes are engulfed in a bright, pink light--a fire he has seen only once before.

As the Fox Pokémon walks forward, entranced, the creature lets out another terrifying screech. This time, however, it is not alone.

"Fellblood". The deep, resounding voice seems to come from inside the young trainer's head and echoes inside his mind.

"Fellblood".

The single word petrifies the redhead's heart. He turns towards his other Pokémon, and the Absol's red eyes stare right back. "Yes, this is the Fell Creature of old", replies the Disaster Pokémon, "returned after one thousand years. It was drawn to the victor of a fierce battle, altho it should have gone for dogfish imo."

Stunned, the trainer turns towards the creature's piercing blue eyes. Almost without realizing it, he tears off the glove on his right hand, revealing the purple mark on its back: an enigmatic, six-eyed stare. "Well. This is unexpected. I assume it's not here for the bloody human sacrifice and the whole 'absorbing the life energy of every living creature'?"

"Not for now, no."

"Well then. It seems we have a new partner."
