Private tooter @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic Spikes
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Weezing completely shuts down Gurdurr and Type: Null with T-Spikes + Taunt. It also shuts down Scyther with Will-O + Taunt and Kabutops with Will-O + Pain Split. Even after +2, Scyther's Aerial Ace cannot 2HKO Weezing, who will then proceed to burn it.

+2 8 Atk Technician Scyther Aerial Ace vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Weezing: 135-159 (40.5 - 47.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ Atk Kabutops Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Weezing: 105-124 (31.5 - 37.2%) -- 83.8% chance to 3HKO
16+ Atk Guts Gurdurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Weezing: 78-92 (23.4 - 27.6%) -- 75.4% chance to 4HKO

Ball of steel (Togedemaru) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs / Lightning Rod
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spiky Shield
- Zing Zap
- Toxic
- Wish

Toge handles Mesprit and Rotom-F, taking resisted damage from both of them. I'd like to mention it also walls Scyther for the most part. Wish keeps itself and Weezing healthy, facilitating a toxic stall. Spiky Shield + Iron Barbs + Rocky Helmet will rack up some good damage on anything that tries to U-turn out. On the other hand, Lightning Rod can be used to prevent Rotom from pivoting.

0 SpA Mesprit Psychic vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Togedemaru: 66-78 (19.8 - 23.4%) -- possible 6HKO
+2 8 Atk Scyther U-turn vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Togedemaru: 120-141 (36 - 42.3%) -- 95.1% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Rotom-Frost Blizzard vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Togedemaru: 100-118 (30 - 35.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252 SpA Rotom-Frost Subzero Slammer (185 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Togedemaru: 168-198 (50.4 - 59.4%) -- 82.4% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Kabutops Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Togedemaru: 120-141 (36 - 42.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

In short, the idea is to toxic stall the team to death. Weezing checks Scyther, Type: Null, Gurdurr, and Kabutops, while Toge checks the former two as well as Mesprit and Rotom-F. The team lacks a serious physical wallbreaker (such as Zangoose or Stoutland), which is why bringing in Weezing on any of the physical attackers is relatively easy.

I am voting for Jmash. I like the consistency of his core. Lanturn forces him to weaken the mons that primeape would generally need help wearing down. My only concern was scyther due to primeape relying on stonemiss, but this is just a two mon thing anyway.

Many: aggron alone can destroy the team, since it doesn't have any true aggron switchin (gurdurr can check it tho) and worse, gives free swictchibs to aggron (null/mesprit/scyther). The iron dino can also use stealth rock so as to get rid of scyther/rotom. Musharna comes for free on gurdurr and can also proceed to sweep the team, so idk how the team can beat this core

Hi! Unfortunately, the vote you placed was for a team from a previous week. Please refer to a team used in this week (post #27) and pick from there.

This week, I decided to stray away from the standard builds with something more creative, and this time around we have a team built by Taskr, yogi and dibs for PUPL! This team follows a slightly unconventional layout, with threats like Choice Scarf Alolan Raticate and Substitute Jynx able to pose a huge threat when paired with Spike support. With Pokemon like Tangela and Calm Mind Clefairy, it's also among one of the sturdiest offense teams out there!

Happy breaking! :blobwizard:

- U-turn
- Healing Wish

I started with Pawniard, because 1, Knock Off tears the team apart, 2, it takes advantage of Qwilfish's Intimidate, and 3, it's one of the few Pokemon that resists Jynx's and Alolan Raticate's STABs. Mesprit was added on to beat Tangela, Hitmonchan, and Qwilfish if it's already on the field, set up SR to ease a sweep, U-turn to open chances to Knock and SD, and HW to give Pawniard another chance at sweeping or cleaning with Sucker Punch.

Alolan Dugtrio has a solid match up, abusing Jynx before set-up, threatening weakened Qwilfish, and using Clef as complete Substitute fodder. Substitute+Toxic can also wear down Tangela easily, and it’s very nice that Hitmonchan and Alolan Raticate don’t take Earthquakes very well. However, Alolan Dugtrio appreciates a pivot to fall back on once Substitute is down, and Weezing is capable of pivoting into Alolan Raticate, chipping Qwilfish, as well as walling Hitmonchan and Tangela. Rockly Helmet is useful for chipping Alolan Raticate, Qwilfish, Hitmonchan, and Tangela to an extent. Flamethrower is taken to discourage Jynx a bit more, but the core alone will fall to an already set up Jynx.

Scyther takes advantage of everything except Alolan Raticate. Since Qwilfish and Clefairy lack T-Wave, they can't cripple it and since Jynx lacks Focus Sash, it will be OHKOed by U-Turn. Tangela, Hitmonchan, and Clef are basically set up fodder.

Like Scyther, AlolaSlash doesn't fear much of anything from the likes of Jynx, Clefairy, Tangela, or Qwilfish. It's bulk and typing allows it to form a solid core with Scyther, checking both Faticate and Jynx. In return, Scyther can take on Hitmonchan, avoiding the KO from a Thunder Punch even after rocks. Qwilfish doesn't really phase it either, as AlolaSlash can just spam Earthquake or nuke it with Tectonic Rage.

Based on CB Ape, who destroys because the team is slow and the Fighting resists are Qwilfish (Intimidate triggers Defiant) and Choice Scarf Mesprit (shaky overall.) Skuntank rounds the core out by switching into Mesprit and trapping it. Also puts in work against most parts of the team barring Qwilfish and Aggron, Special sets are an alternative to resolve this. Spiritomb can replace Skuntank, instead offering Will-O-Wisp, a Fighting immunity, and Psychic. It's not as good versus Shiftry and Mesprit, though.

Mr. Mime has ample set up opportunities vs this team, being able to set up against Drampa locked into Hyper Voice or Draco Meteor, Mesprit locked into Psychic, vs Qwilfish and also forcing Hitmonchan out. At +2 Mr. Mime can KO every single mon with the only things threatening it are Shiftry's Sucker Punch and Mesprits U-Turn kinda, both of which are dealt with by Skuntank.

Lilligant has the capability of breaking the team with Life Orb powered Giga Drains, HP Ices, and the threat of Sleep Powder. It also boosts past the scarfer of the team, Mesprit, easily after one Quiver Dance. But since Lilligant is annoyed by the priority users and appreciates chip damage on Drampa, offensive Mesprit is here to facilitate these issues by providing Stealth Rock and can put its own dents into the team. With its coverage, Mesprit is able to 2HKO or OHKO all the pokemon except for the opposing Mesprit. Colbur Berry, even on this offensive set, is solid for sort of luring Shiftry so Lilligant doesn't have to bother with Sucker Punch mindgames later, as Lilligant cannot Sleep Powder it. Note that Qwilfish is complete set up fodder for Lilligant with no poison STAB or Thunder Wave to deter Lilligant.

Chick magnet (Probopass) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock

I know I have nominated Probopass in an earlier week, but it does incredibly well against this team, too. First off, it checks Drampa and Aggron. Probo can Toxic stall Drampa to death, while it can trap and kill Aggron with Magnet Pull + Earth Power. Of course, beware of Drampa's Focus Blast. Probo also counters Mesprit.

0 SpA Probopass Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Aggron: 308-364 (109.6 - 129.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Prince Charming (Silvally-Fairy) @ Fairy Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Parting Shot
- Multi-Attack
- Thunderbolt
- Defog

Silvally-Fairy pressures Drampa, Shiftry, and Hitmonchan, the latter two being Probo's greatest threats. Multi-Attack will OHKO Shiftry and Hitmonchan; in contrast, Fairyvally doesn't take much from either Sucker Punch or Mach Punch. Thunderbolt may seem odd, but 2HKOes Qwilfish, eliminating it as a check. In return, Fairyvally appreciates Probo's ability to trap and neutralize Aggron after a Parting Shot.
