SS PU Lambovino teamdump and explanations
î__________(with araquanid, guzzlord, raichu-a and virizion in the tier)

This season is over for me and ended on a bad 3-4 score, 2 tours in a row that i finish with that score, i guess it's time to admit that i'm kinda washed at this lol
I still had fun building for most of the tour and would like to give people access to the builds, the plans behind it, and how it worked in the real game etc... to give my opinion about the tier rn.
My first goal this tour was to use as much different mons / styles as I could to gauge the tier with the new drops better. Over the 7 weeks of the tournament, i managed to never use more than 3 times a mon, and only 6 mons were re-used (2 sneasel, 2 virizion, 2 aggron, 2 ribombee, 3 archeops and 3 weezing), which is telling about how diverse the tier can be, and how the new drops don't affect building liberty negatively (i didn't have a good record but idt it's because of the teams lol, except for w3 but we'll talk about that later).

W1 - mixed Viriz offense - W
:virizion: :silvally-steel: :garbodor: :archeops: :ribombee: :eldegoss:

For week 1, i wanted to try virizion the most, as it seemed to be the mon with the more potential within the drops. I figured the best set would be LO cm stone edge, and I still think it's the case, because of how much pressure it can put on the opposing team, getting a free set up on passive mons like eldegoss, taking a moonblast from bee thanks to the cm and killing it with stone edge, as well as killing zard with stone edge too, opening the way for steelvally and qd bee in this team.

Something interesting to look at too is the use of bulky poison types, the arrival of viriz has greatly increased their use (mostly grounded ones for the tspikes MU) and i wasn't an exception to this. I used Garbodor week 1, a mon that I wasn't really a fan of prior to the drops, but who acted as a great viriz check, and also a doublade one if played with haze, on top of everything it's known for. Archeops is still a top 3 glue of the tier for me, covering the zard MU and adding some speed control mostly, while also keeping some new mons in check with dual wing beat like viriz / sub araq. I was very hesitant on the set i'd play, the special set was good because in tests i found the physical one to be too passive and claiming a kill early with meteor beam was helping me to keep the pressure up all the game. For the game, I still chose however to keep the physical one for better longevity. I put the special one in the past above because I do believe it's better if you're not a coward. Having stone edge on viriz helped me in not having roost on archeops since i have another fast zard rk option.
I am in the team giga drain on Virizion, I know it's quite bad dps wise, but the recovery can help you survive more with the LO/sandstorm chip damages that are very annoying.

The game was pretty fun, I had it in hand until termi made a good bluff (and god knows i'm a coward so i didn't try to call it) which made the endgame very interesting. In the early game we can see how good eject button eldegoss is, giving me a free turn while absorbing the opposing meteor beam and allowing my own archeops to come RK. I love usable items on eldegoss / weezing for that reason and gaining a gourgeist / trev check easily.
After losing a few 50/50s and basically all the advantage I had, giga drain viriz came in clutch, to not be a fodder after -2 spatk, and the recovery allowing it to have chances to take a +4 sneak from doublade, which made termi click claw at +2.

W2 - Lycan Araq Guno - L
:articuno-galar: :araquanid: :weezing: :stunfisk-galar: :whimsicott: :lycanroc:

For week 2 I wanted to try Araquanid, as it was the most intriguing mon and I managed to get some OK results with it in testgames before the tour started. Some people were saying it was dogshit, and i remember how the discourse around it back when it was banned was that it had no checks, so i wanted to try it out myself.

I spent a LOT of time trying to find the best way to play Araq, without much success. It was always losing to something, everytime. I found an ok midground with the use of stockpile, allowing it to tank a uturn from wishiwashi behind the sub so you wouldn't be beaten so easily. I also tried giving it the metronome, but the leftovers recovery were too useful. I really don't think toxic is so good on it, as most bulky teams have a cleric anyway, and it's checks are like taunt jelli / rest wishi lol. If you wanna try it yourself, note that the speed game is very interesting on araq, as it is in competition with elde / weez. Also, some wow support can be good to balance it's worse bulky side, I had some ok results with wow haunter to get gigalith for example.

I tried to pair it with Future Sight Guno there, thinking it would do a good breaking core, and added the classic mandatory poison type to the core, this time with eject button weezing, giving me a free switch to araq after using future sight, and allowing me to have a great polter gourgeist check since my 2 first mons were really weak to it. I then chose the goat Gunfisk to complete the team, as the first 3 mons were completly destroyed by magneton. Gunfisk has some nice benefits, it can easily trade against zard, which was good for my team here, and most importantly it makes you vika/mag proof for the next few weeks, which is insane to free your mind a bit during the building phase. I finished with the classic fairy + fire type check combo, with whimsicott as a fairy there because of the nice role compression it offers, being a ground / water check with defog / koff / encore. For the fire type check I was using the classic archeops at first, but changed last minute to Lycanroc because i was 6-0d by sneasel. Lycanroc was pretty fun to use, the calc of +2 drill run on doublade is interesting (especially after a whimsi koff), and the prio is always nice against HO, which is something my opponent likes to bring. I almost used the scope lens to have a 50% chance to crit a drill run, as +2 crit was doing insane damages to doublade, but figure it would be too much of a gamble for a tour game lol.

In the real game i fought uturn wishi + encore whimsi which is pretty much the worst thing you can expect for a sub araq lol, and on top of that I messed up my guno spread so it was slower than the opposing sawk, which made me lose the game (you have the right spread on the paste i linked above). I was happy about gunfisk's performance tho, and Lycanroc could have done something great if it had Close Combat, so i'll keep that in mind for another game where i'll be more doublade proof with my team.

W3 - roseli Guzz dark spam - L (don't steal this one it's bad)
:guzzlord: :sneasel: :gigalith: :weezing: :sandslash: :jellicent:

Guzzlord SUCKS it is BAD do NOT play it if you want to win !!!!!!!

Over the 7 weeks of regular phase of this tour, do you want to know how many non mirror games a Guzzlord won ? ONE

Honnestly i'm surprised this mon doesn't work well in this tier when it is viable in some upper tiers. I think the problem comes from how we have good ways to scout it's set, between regen mons like audino / eldegoss, a lot of tect mons like Gigalith, a fairy type in almost every team with ribombee / whimsi / aromatisse / silvally, a lot of residual damages with hazard stack / status spam / sandstorm that makes it hard to switch into more than once and still keep advantage of it's bulk...

I had lots of different ideas to try guzzlord this week but ended up not finding anything that i liked, so i just used something that looked fun : roseli berry + sd non ice shard sneasel, so i can get rid of bee / whimsi and sd 3 atk sneasel has a great MU against the rest. I also saw in the opponent's scout that he NEVER used tspikes in recent tours, so i thought why not try to commit on a specific MU because guzzlord was hard to make it work in all MUs, and I ended up facing tspikes. My guzzlord took too much residual damages so he wasn't out of range of moonblast anymore, and the game ended tragically withme not being able to do much things....

It's the only team I would advise not to steal, but at least it showed that taunt hex toxic jelli can still be good

W4 - Vika HO - L
:vikavolt: :archeops: :virizion: :doublade: :qwilfish: :sneasel:

I was facing gum this week so i wanted to not fall into my habbits and tried to ct theirs. I wanted to load HO for that reason, especially with sd ice shard sneasel because i knew they liked to use ninjask to rk things. sd qwil is a good mon to use in HOs because of it being a grounded poison + the water / poison coverage works well against most balanced teams, and i wanted to use doublade too since i basically never do. Viriz ended up being a naturally fitting mon there, which shows how it can help a lot while building this archetype, and I used the same set as before.

Not too much to say with this game, i missed triple axel into got a bad roll on hitmonlee vs doublade so I lost it. I really don't like terrain because of how coinflippy it is and it showed again how frustrating it can be to face it and lose on a random set up mon that got a good roll

W5 - Raichu elec terrain HO - W
:raichu-alola: :pincurchin: :hitmonlee: :claydol: :silvally-ghost: :thievul:

at that point i was in 1-3, with 2 games lost on dumb things and 1 because of another dumb thing, i was pretty depressed and didn't know what to do. Lyra advised me to use terrain, so I decided to fight my demons from last week and play terrain myself. But not grassy terrain... it was finally time to use raichu alola, with an electric terrain team. It was actually one of the teams i built before the tour while trying the new mons, and it was pretty fun so I decided to do little edits and load it for real. I think it is as close as it can be to the best elec terrain raichu-alola team. I started with the 2 classic terrain sweepers Hitmonlee and Thievul, then Pincurchin as a terrain and spikes setter, being a doublade check as well. Claydol felt good there, acting like the coalossal of grassy teams but tailored for elec teams, with a very needed eq immune, spin to support the hazard stack from pincurchin, teleport to bring the various sweepers on the field etc etc...

I added a ghostvally to block spin from the opposing team, supporting the hazard stack even more, and sd sub to beat audino. I like how the elec terrain helps against sleep powder eldegoss, so you're actually safe to switch into it to spinblock, walling 2/4 moves. I had sd explosion at first to beat guzzlord for raichu / thievul, but i knew the opponent wouldn't bring it so sub was just better.

Raichu alola was the mon I spent the most time on trying to understand what would be the best possible set. While LO offers really good offensive power, seed can help him setting up and NP and not die of priorities. It had np rising voltage set, but could run a psychic move, grass knot for quag / gigalith, focus blast for gigalith / guzzlord, draining kiss for guzzlord...

I decided to use the safest set, with seed, enough bulk for doublade's sneak, dkiss to not miss focus blast and regain HPs on guzzlord, and knot to not be walled by quag and open the way for other sweepers. We found the spread with Bloshh , it ouspeeds ninjask, and it worked really well in the game, keeping itself just out of the sneak range in the endgame. I'm kinda happy it worked cause people were saying terrain would be really bad, and after giving the paste to Addison who made her own version it won again, proving that elec terrain raichu-alola is a MENACE.

W6 - classic specs mag balanced - W
:aggron: :ribombee: :archeops: :tangela: :magneton: :weezing:

I didn't have any fresh idea and thought my opponent was inexperienced enough in the tier that I could load classic solid things and still get the upper hand matchup wise. Specs mag is one of the best things to surprise new players as it almost has no switch ins and they might not think to prep specifically for it, and i added a classic core of aggron / bee / archeops / weezing + grass type. I wanted to play ngaz weez here to prevent audino / eldegoss from regaining health after scouting mag's set, so tangela was preferred over eldegoss for the LO sandslash MU, which made me put defog on archeops lol.

nothing much to say on this game, except maybe that it's funny to see we both loaded dwb archeops for viriz / araq, it seems to have become a staple of the new tier.

I got a bit lucky with my magneton but I think i had the win regardless, the team pulled a really cool MU. It's not perfect tho, something like specs jelli would destroy it, but idt it's really meta rn.

W7 - 3 ZU mons - L
:charizard: :dubwool: :clefairy: :aggron: :gourgeist: :lanturn:

For this week my team was out already and the opponent's was guaranteed in POs. As we knew each other well, we agreed on a 2 ZU mons minimum use for this week. I spent the week trying to see what would be fun to use with ZU mons, and it reminded me of zben 's team he beat me with in last year's pu classic. He played a dubwool team, and it was pretty fun to look at, so i tried to do mine too. It ended up very similar to his, but with clef and gourgeist-small as ZU mons too. The main challenge was to see how I could deal with the new drops with ZU mons, which is interesting because it shows they are fair and balanced.
One thing to keep in mind is that I knew he would bring 2 ZU mons too, so I could do assumptions like "a concerning thing would be spikes stack + lo slash + doublade, but he won't bring that cause he needs 2 zu mons", knowing that doing a functionnal team with 2 ZU mons and this core was very hard.

I chose clef as a 2nd ZU mon because of how it could compress some roles, setting up SRs, checking specs guzzlord, cm virizion, charizard, vikavolt... That mon is pretty underrated, even if it's not perfect it is a bit better in this new meta and I was pretty hyped to use it. I would recommend using koff as 4th move, but I couldn't there cause I had a poltergeist mon. I was hesitating between toxic and twave, toxic helping against vikavolt and twave helping against zard (dubwool becomes faster) / poison types, and ended on twave hoping i wouldn't face vikavolt.

Dubwool was pretty fun to build around, the moves were locked from the beginning, cotton guard restalk body press is the best you can do with it, but I spent some time trying to find what spread and ability I should play. While Fluffy would have been cool to become a little physical wall, helping against things like araquanid or aggron, I chose bulletproof there. It helps against weezing, which is now walled by dubwool, as well as some cool stuffs like rock blast gigalith, focus blast zard (as well as not taking x2 on flamethrower)...

For the speed i chose to outspeed 252+ speed gallade, because it was crushing my team, and tried to focus the spread on how to beat it.

The scenario i worked with is the following : in a 1v1, if i click cotton guard vs cc from 252+atk LO gallade, and then cotton guard t2 on another cc, how many times do i survive with leftos to rest after that.
52.73% to live 2 cc with 252 hp /64 def
66.8% with 200 hp / 116 def
75.4% with 136 hp /180 def

200 HPs also made my HPs the right number for optimized leftos, so I went with that.

For the game...well... while talking with my opponent a few hours before the game, he told me "ah btw i'm not doing the deal", so I decided to still stick with that team and see how it goes, since it doesn't really matter anyway.
The dubwool MU was the worst possible.
Taunt jelli was terrible to face itself (even tho i managed to get it low very early on), but aroma bee + zard in the back helped keeping it in check completly, and my team didn't have the necessary longevity to fight taunt toxic jelli + cleric. I do think i could have played this one better, like not allowing jelli to come back full health, but most of the time i bet on now allowing bee to come and aroma for free, which ultimately didn't work. The game was still fun and I was happy to play dubwool + clef, but still a tough loss.

Some teams that i built before the tour and never used because they're not *so* good :
https://pokepast.es/39c14c885c10dcc8 guzzlord fat
https://pokepast.es/8c239e40ba18f845 virizion volturn
https://pokepast.es/36446f7ebaae036a haunter araq

Conclusion on how I feel about the tier rn :
I think everybody that played it this season thinks the same tbh, great tier, Viriz brings a lot of value, Araq and Guzzlord are kinda mid but have some purposes, Raichu can be a threat both in terrain and in standard balanced teams but is not broken. I'd keep it like that for sure !

tbh this tour overlapping with spl was really bad for me and im sorry to my team that i gave the impression i did not care etc... kinda was overworked in spl and it reflected in what i was able to do here. i genuinely do really love the tier so i am disappointed in what i was able to showcase as a teammate this time around. everybody was great, ishtar and tony did a wonderful job making a fun cord. i did build a bit, not everything was exactly quality but just wanted to share some things i think are worth while.

:tauros::salazzle::palossand::bombirdier::lanturn::sandslash-alola:https://pokepast.es/668e76d84f76c426
kinda got botted by uxie bc i greeded tera ghost on bull in the actual game, did blunder the endgame though. sucker and trick ironball on bomb/palo were techs used for xiri in particular, can probably edit the sets if you dont wanna use either and not lose a whole lot
:pawmot::arcanine::shaymin::cramorant::rhydon::porygon2:https://pokepast.es/4fde26c9287d129a
figured drip would use offense or smth so i went with k9 + this tr p2 set i thought of. idea was with specs shay to blast p2 checks and to clean up with p2 or k9. again my fault, rock polish poison rhydon didnt cross my mind in the endgame. rly silly oversight by me in a game i was otherwise winning but shows where my head was at ig
:sneasel::avalugg-hisui::decidueye-hisui::oricorio::farigiraf::salazzle:https://pokepast.es/489d6b759c5de4b7
an old offense I repurposed because I was a bit ehhh on running what I was originally going to use. had some family problems and wasnt mentally able to play but happy diamonds won with this
:avalugg-hisui::snorlax::uxie::amoonguss::floatzel::persian-alola: https://pokepast.es/064fbc6a7ef893bb
team looks super shit but I stand by it, built it in a previous week but didnt end up using it. ik people were saying how bad the rotom mu is but imo its fine ? like its more than playable, the game just wasnt played optimally for the mu. i did send baddy in with tera water and not tera dragon which was an oops by there was rly no significant prep this week so it slipped my mind

:oricorio::decidueye-hisui::zoroark::lanturn::mudsdale::sandslash-alola:https://pokepast.es/8845f0028768f0de
unused from the other corio hecid week, just didnt wanna use slash lanturn again so i went towards offense but the team wasnt bad from testing
:sneasel-hisui::hoopa::tatsugiri::rotom-heat::bombirdier::mudsdale:https://pokepast.es/d06931c262e02260
honestly forget what week this was but blosh suggested the core of curse bomb and tox h sneas. this was one of the ones I came up with and honestly its not bad I think i just leaned something else, played with it a bit when i was benched and it was fun.

waited to post this till after shifts to see if anything significant would change which would make me not want to share smth in particular but with stuff like k9 gone and gbro back the tier will probably shift a ton where theres no reason for me to gatekeep anything.

imo theres nothing overly special here? i think theyre cool teams but tier felt weird to build this time around, felt that way since puwc asw and i expended a lot of ideas there so maybe am just on a building burn out. i would end this with my usual pawm rant but we just got 3 pawm checks so im optimistic about the future. hoping to come back to pu team tours with a better mindset next time around, guess i was more burned out with the tier and busy than i thought I would be, hopefully something here peaks peoples interest though.

This was my first pu tour action really at all, and me even being drafted started as a joke between Phil and I saying if I hit rank 1 on ladder she would draft me. So I hit rank one, and she kept to her word. I didn't think I would get off the bench at all, but week 4 rolled around and I found myself in SV2 ready to give it a go. Since I had no expectations or experience, my goal was to bring some weird stuff that would catch people off guard and give me a slight advantage at team preview. Here's how it went:

Week 4 vs zS:
:zoroark::palossand::pawmot::florges::milotic::decidueye-hisui:
I know I said I wanted to bring some weird stuff, and this team is anything but weird, but I had a really busy week and didn't really have time to build so I just took a team from a teammate and called it a day, ended up winning my debut game against a very strong opponent

Week 5 vs twinkay:
:rhydon::uxie::decidueye-hisui::salazzle::sandslash-alola::floatzel:
This is when my Shengineer cooking arc started, I said I wanted to use some swords dance hecid and he said bro why not just use banded, so we had that as a starting point, I'm not sure when it went off the rails. We wanted an offensive pivot that can take advantage of milotic, so OBVIOUSLY we chose eject pack salazzle, and then figured but wait what if the milo burns our hecid, we need something that actually beats it. So Shen cooked up bulk up floatzel because it can't be burnt by scald. In the game I actually tera'd the float and 1v1d an amoonguss, but tbh this team was too off the rails and ended up in a not very close loss.

Week 6 vs Est4ban:
:ambipom::tatsugiri::froslass::mudsdale::rotom-heat::bombirdier:
This was our magnum opus, the cook to end all cooks. I wanted to hazard stack because its a style I'm comfortable with, but the common spin blockers all kinda lose to sandslash. You know what beats sandslash (and also ambipom)? Bulky colbur berry Froslass. This team worked PERFECTLY, got the hazards up, kept them up, and Froslass even put in work with a burn, a vital taunt, and even a cursed body on its way out to seal the game in the end. Not a single soul thought I'd win this one, but I pulled it out to get to 2-1.

Week 7 vs MichaelDerBeste:
:grookey::drifblim::delphox::mudsdale::tatsugiri::hitmonlee:
This week I wanted to cheese because I thought MDB was cheesable and I probably wouldn't be able to win in a balance v. balance matchup. I'm an NU mainer, and :thwackey: has been terrorizing that tier with its terrain, and had been doing the same in PU before it rose. I thought hey all it ever did was set terrain anyway, so its little bro can do the same can't it? He sure could, and the little banana man even picked up a KO in the game. The team was functioning how it had to function, and I had the game won, then I didn't click strength sap with my Blimp. I have NO idea what happened to my brain on this play, but it was and will hopefully forever be the worst choke of my mons playing career.

Screenshot 2026-04-01 232254.png

First off, I'd like to thank a few people for helping me make my teams through these few weeks. My main man and building partner Shengineer, the reason for these weirdo teams, we cooked HARD. I also want to thank Platum eifo and VyoletRayn for first allowing me to bring these teams to the battlefield and second giving me some edits and ideas about how to improve them (Platum told me to put taunt on Froslass which ended up winning me that game).

I had a really fun time with this tour, a tour I'd call successful for myself, and I hope I've proven myself to the PU community as a real competitor and a staple for time to come. Thanks Theycallmephil for drafting me. I guess.

new meta so these are all useless minus like 1-2 maybe but this tour / meta rly challenged my patience as a builder so hopefully its an interesting read regardless.

SCARLET & VIOLET

:pmd/pawmot: :pmd/snorlax: :pmd/sandslash-alola: :pmd/florges: :pmd/rhydon: :pmd/rotom-heat:
Week 1, Gondra vs Platum (W)

I was having trouble trying to find my footing W1, and Chungler suggested Snorlax since there werent that many Normal-resists in Platum's scout if I recall correctly and setting up Snorlax for a win wasn't too hard. Gondra just said he wanted to use what was broken so we slapped a Pawmot and Heattom on there and called it a day really. Grass Knot Pawmot was something I wanted to add on to snipe Rhydon/Palossand/Avalugg-H to help open the game up for Snorlax which didn't matter but yeah. In hindsight this team was an absolute throw because it's slow as fuck and that Pawmot needs a Choice Scarf for sure...LOL. It's an okay team with some edits though prob.

:pmd/mesprit::pmd/rhydon::pmd/arcanine::pmd/zoroark::pmd/milotic::pmd/uxie:
Week 3, Shiba vs Diamonds_realm
(W)

I wanted to build with offense this week, with the idea of Zoroark luring random stuff in while disguised as Uxie/whoever else. I became really high on this Arcanine set / Rhydon / Uxie core as the tour went on because it was just so consistent it felt like doing crack. I didn't expect sun at all from the opposing team and tbh I fw it a lot. I think Sun had potential in this meta but I was too afraid to experiment more with it. I tested this team for like 2 weeks and basically I kept winning games without ever using the 6th mon. Whether it was a Tatsu, Salazzle, Uxie, I just kept winning with the team which is why it has that name lol. I was nervous because I felt like I could never nail the 6th slot to fit the team perfectly but I just said okay this is just going to be a 5v6 but we will win surely and then we did. This is basically the starting point of where I began to hit my stride in the builder.

:pmd/pawmot::pmd/milotic::pmd/sandslash-alola::pmd/arcanine::pmd/sableye::pmd/uxie:
Week 5, Shiba vs Meru
(W)

Since ASKOV had introduced me to defensive Uxie and Sableye I couldn't really put them down tbh. Sableye takes advantage of the fact that Cram had dipped in usage and became a worse mon into a more offense-centric meta while Sandslash reigned as the king of removal. The paraders were struggling and I didn't see them switching up styles too much so I figured it was a good time to send this team out into the wilds. Pawmot + Spikestack should basically soften up everything for a late game Arcanine and we landed the MU I was hoping for so this game was smooth sailing.

:pmd/sceptile::pmd/qwilfish-hisui::pmd/florges::pmd/sableye::pmd/arcanine::pmd/uxie:
Week 6, Shiba vs DugZa
(L)

Honestly I was dreading this week prep-wise because DugZa is notorious for using random "shit"mons that end up being good tech / surprises in game. I noticed that he was another person to use Sandslash as his only form of removal so I figured we could repeat the Sableye idea. I overcooked as shit this week. I wanted to use Tera Fire Uxie so it could sub on Sandslash and just keep setting up. DugZa ended up loading Thanosmoth and it 6-0d us on preview LOL. Scarf Persian was also something I wasn't expecting so it was a good call from him. Also Sceptile with Life Orb was really bad he is a Choice Specs merchant for sure. Overall a week I got lost in the sauce with.

:pmd/hattrem::pmd/braviary-hisui::pmd/qwilfish-hisui::pmd/milotic::pmd/amoonguss::pmd/tauros-paldea-blaze:
Week 7, Bleahey vs Scarf Kricketune
(L)

Ok I'm going to ego here and preface that this should not have been a loss if Bleahey didn't int JUSTTT. SAYING. This is my second favorite team I made of the tour its so fire. I really wanted to experiment with choice locked breakers and just something that never lets up pressure. I lost like 0 test games with this and Bleahey made a pretty bad mistake like 1-2 turns which cost him the game but I really really love this team. Hattrem was there just to keep Rocks off for continuous Hrav entry with Spikestack for easier breaking + Milo for pivoting into both Hrav and Tauros which break for each other. Paraspam is just bc Hrav is slow and Tauros while not that slow isn't Scarf so it's prone to being revenged. I thought the Vacuum Wave tech was cool for Pawmot/Zoroark/Ambipom so I was proud of myself for that. I had been testing this for like 2 weeks before sending it in a week that didn't matter which I regret tbh this had playoffs aura.

Semifinals, Shiba vs Esteb4n (W)

This is my favorite team of all tour and prob of all time that I've made in SVPU. It still works in post-shifts meta as well and got some nice wins with it in PU LOVE 2OUR. While it's just HO I feel like I really put a lot of thought into it and it was a team I made that just had so much cohesiveness to it, it just felt super nice. I don't really know how I landed on the idea of HO but I was thinking to myself that DripLegend cooked with SubSalac Uxie so I wanted to use that. Sash Lazzle is great for trading + dealing with Rhydon and Sash Zoroark does the same really well and with a well timed tera ghost on something like a choice locked CC is pretty much doom for your opponent. The Sash spam is again insanely good for trading which is pretty important in such an offensive meta. I remember dumping an insane walltext for Shiba the night before his game on how to sequence / use the team since Zoroark disguising as Lazzle to bait in Ground-types with Gknot is really important. I'm also quite high on SD Qwilfish and have been for a while so I just threw him in since the common defensive backbones of like Rhyon/Milo weren't that great into him, and he can just Tera Jet on offensive revengers if set-up enough. Team is still usable today with SD HQwil > Qwil and something over Uxie (Mesprit maybe but it being slower is a big deal tbh). Only other change I'd consider is putting Rock Blast on Avalugg. But yeah, awesome team I love it a lot. Shiba also played this game insanely well so props to him for wielding my crack expertly.

Finals, Gondra vs MichaelderBeste2 (W)

I was absolutely schizoing out this week but usually when that happens I win so I took it as a good sign. I didn't know what to think of the Slugmas prep, it was the first time I had done a huge full scout and looked at it so intently. I saw Sandslash was their most used mon across all SV slots so I went back to the Sableye stack combo. This team went through a lot of edits/renditions (Palo+Bonnet > Rhydon + Venu) and eventually I decided that no matter what you can't cover everything in this meta so we'll have to sacrifice some mu's. The bad mu with Palo Bonnet was Heattom and we almost used Water Blast speedy Arcanine to deal with it but I was like okay thats doing too much so lets not. DugZa suggested the Rhydon+Venu core to fix it and it basically did. I only feared Heattom bc Michael was the only person on the Slugs to load it basically. I also thought Ambipom's gameplay loop of clicking Knock+U-Turn looked really good into their teams so I went with that as well. Ended up being sheist. Gondra is the goat. Just to find out their team was a reuse from earlier in the tour or smth...shameful.

SSPU Open Finals, hex vs Lambovino (W)

Gonna be a bit more concise with my teams from here, but this is something I made for my SSPU open run. I really really really love Work Up Silvally, it's such a fun set and again feels like crack to use. Lambo's scout looked weak to the coverage Watervally had access to along with Magneton (well everyone is weak to Magneton, it's broken) so I went with that as my core. I also love using T-Spikes in this tier so I added that and just rounded off the team in normal SSPU fashion with Elde+Giga and called it a day. Probably my favorite SSPU team I've made to date.

SSPU Open Finals, hex vs Lambovino (W)

I actually don't know if this team works in suspect meta tbh but it's HO so probs. Like I said I've been high on Work Up Vally for a long time....since 2024...two SSPLs ago...he's my goat! This team has had some changes, at one point I used NP Roseli Shiftry just to realize SD is better lol. I'm a big fan of SD Qwilfish in SSPU as well, I think it's extremely strong and easy to catch people off guard with. The common defensive cores are exposed by it pretty easily. One of my more thoughtful HO teams as well. Everything just breaks in hopes that one of Qwilfish / Silvally will clean late game. I've posted this team elsewhere but reposting cuz its a gem.

SSPU Open, hex vs OranBerryBlissey10 (W)
SSPU Open, hex vs Bloshh (L)

I was really just in my abuse Magneton era and I wanted to build a team that was good into the suspect mons without using them. I liked the idea of electric spam and I am also pretty addicted to using Ninjask since it's the most splash-able thing that can beat the Unburden sweepers of the tier. Not much to say about it honestly, just a team that hopes to retain offensive pressure so Magneton can click as much as possible with Wish Audino able to keep it healthy for as much entry as possible. Bloshh smoked me with Terrain tho however I played bad because I am ass and choked. Cheese mu's (stall/terrain) with this team are fine and balance mirrors should generally be a cake walk.

SUN & MOON
Tbh I keep saying I'm ass at SM but after working with Greybaum all tour I learned a lot and was proud of myself for this team so maybe I'm viable support in this tier now lol...anyway:

Week 7, Gondra vs robjr (W)

When scouting, I noticed robjr just reuses / really does not deviate from his teams with fat breakers / the teams are generally slower paced. Realizing this I wanted to use a midspeed breaker and I liked the idea of NP Mime a lot into him. I realized SD Fairyvally is #broken in this tier but I liked the defensive profile of Dragonvally more bc of Simisear existing so I made it Dragon>Fairy. Admittedly rob's team here caught us off guard and was pretty cool, but he made a hasty play with his Aggron expecting us to scout for Scarf which I think is an overthink for sure. But yeah nothing too notable with this team. Spikestack ensures Silvally / Mime don't have too hard of a time with breaking through rob's usual stuff and the rest of the team is just standard SMPU slop to round off the team. Seriously s.o Gondra again for carrying tf out of us

I wanted to do an SV dump for PUCL because overall I'm extremely happy with my prep this tour and I thought it would be useful to share these structures. My SV record was 5-3, but I feel that every game I lost was down to play and not prep aside from going a little sillier the week we were already in (week 7 vs Doug definitely a bit more of a meme team). Plus I had a lot of fun this tournament on the Tatsus and I'd like to save something for posterity. I don't really have it in me to write massive details about each team but I'm hoping people will still care regardless. Click the sprites for pastes and links are below. Also I made this 2 weeks ago and then forget to post after the tour ended OOPS

:Florges::Oricorio::Rhydon::Decidueye-Hisui::Milotic::Persian-Alola:
Week 1 vs Esteb4n (L) - free win (unless multiple ice punch para's ig) completely thrown at the end x_X but the team worked great

:Tauros-Paldea-Blaze::Sceptile::Mudsdale::Milotic::Braviary-Hisui::Skuntank:
Week 2 vs Platum (W) - not entirely sure if I was the first to innovate fat defog Hrav but this game is a great showcase for it. Double choice breakers are fun, shame Sceptile got destroyed by shifts

:Salazzle::Grimmsnarl::Sandslash-Alola::Palossand::Hariyama::Bruxish:
Week 3 vs Gondra (W) - absolute nailbiter game in part because I hit the wrong move with Grimm at the end like a moron. Nothing too crazy in the team but every set has something small that I liked at the time

:Rhydon::Bombirdier::Venusaur::Milotic::Hoopa::Pawmot:
Week 4 vs Axzel (W) - incredibly basic aside from the pawmot set, but I realized I hadn't used enough Rhydon and he's still broken. Played into the freest matchup ever so not much of a showcase for the team but w/e. Of all of these, this is probably the one that's the most usable post-shifts

:Qwilfish-Hisui::Tauros-Paldea-Blaze::Uxie::Lanturn::Mudsdale::Florges:
Week 6 vs Bouff (W) - wanted to build a little confusing and I think I achieved that but with something that's still pretty good and with a lot of cheese potential. Hqwil+Redbull isn't the most complex offensive core but they get the job done

:Qwilfish-Hisui::Arcanine::Uxie::Lanturn::Sceptile::Golurk:
Week 7 vs DugZa (L) - last week I'd made a crazy version of the Hqwil+Redbull core that morphed into having Arcanine instead and being some stupid HO with a crack Sceptile set. Then we were guaranteed in so I used it and it almost worked if I'd gotten more plays right or been Ice Punch on Golurk

:Rhydon::Decidueye-Hisui::Persian-Alola::Rotom-Heat::Bruxish::Florges:
Semis vs MichaelDerBeste2 (W) - Not a ton to say here other than Sub Bruxish is super cool and I think the rest of the team did a great job at complementing what it can do. I tried so hard to fit great resists to everything and eventually had to give up on some stuff but basically everything felt playable and Brux cheeses a lot of matchups with the right entry

:Sandslash-Alola::Hoopa::Mudsdale::Skuntank::Decidueye-Hisui::Salazzle:
Semis Tiebreak vs MichaelDerBeste2 (L) - this team is pretty cool even though the Hoopa set is just ok and a lot more inconsistent than you'd think, having the goal to set up a Hecid sweep does make this Hoopa set right for the team but idk sometimes non-Choice sets feel real bad. Dual spinblock is fun too, since that Lazzle is tailor-made to stop hazards if you invest tera and you can burn Rhydon for Hecid to not lose 1v1 after it tera Poisons. Not happy with a lot of my plays unfortunately, game should've been a lot closer at minimum, but wisp lazzle is absolutely something people should consider using more
