Pyroak

[OVERVIEW]

With good bulk and access to reliable recovery in Synthesis, Pyroak is a great defensive Pokemon in the metagame. Its Fire / Grass typing gives it resistances to common Steel-, Grass-, and Fairy-type Pokemon like Magearna, Jumbao, Ferrothorn, and Celesteela while also making it one of few reliable stops to Dragon Dance Naviathan, Krilowatt, Tapu Koko, Swords Dance Caribolt, and Mega Mawile. It can also effectively set Stealth Rock against most of these Pokemon, as well as having the ability to run other utility options like Roar, Leech Seed, and Aromatherapy and being able to inflict a number of harmful status ailments.

Pyroak is susceptible to every entry hazard, however, meaning it can be worn down quickly through repeated switches and can be troublesome to get into play. The weakness to Stealth Rock is particularly hazardous, as it significantly cuts into Pyroak's bulk and makes it much easier for Pokemon such as Colossoil and Hoopa-U to break through it. Furthermore, common Flying-, Rock-, and Poison-type attackers such as Mega Crucibelle, Tomohawk, Tornadus-T, and Plasmanta can consistently force it out with their super effective attacks. Finally, Pyroak faces competition from Ferrothorn as a Grass-type entry hazard setter, which has an immunity to Poison-type attacks and a resistance to Stealth Rock.

Moves
========

Earth Power lets Pyroak hit Poison-types like Mollux, Plasmanta, and Mega Crucibelle super effectively, as well as 2HKOing Heatran, which can otherwise shut it down with Taunt. Giga Drain can instead be used to better hit Ground- and Water-types like Colossoil, Gastrodon, and Krilowatt. Roar can be used to phaze setup sweepers and should be used alongside Stealth Rock to rack up entry hazard damage, but Pyroak generally prefers the extra coverage options against incoming switch-ins, or it will be walled by Taunt Heatran. Pyroak is a very reliable Stealth Rock setter, as its typing can force Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Magearna to switch out, giving Pyroak ample opportunity to set it up. Leech Seed can be used instead if one of Pyroak's teammates already provide this role, allowing Pyroak to passively sap away a foe's health and overall increasing Pyroak's longevity throughout the match. Toxic is also an acceptable alternative that can cripple bulky Pokemon such as Zygarde, Arghonaut, and Tomohawk while also annoying incoming switch-ins with status.

Set Details
========

248 HP and 252 Defense EVs with a Bold nature help maximize Pyroak's physical bulk, allowing it to wall Pokemon such as Dragon Dance Naviathan, Kartana, Caribolt, Smokomodo, and non-Z-Move variants of Landorus-T. Alternatively, 248 HP EVs and 252 Special Defense EVs with a Calm nature can be used to maximize Pyroak's special bulk, helping it better take attacks from Mega Latios and Ash-Greninja.

Usage Tips
========

Switch Pyroak into resisted hits from Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Ferrothorn, Kartana, Caribolt, and Magearna and use their switches to set up Stealth Rock or pressure the opposing team with other moves like Lava Plume if Stealth Rock is already set. Pyroak is quite vulnerable to entry hazards, so it is important to use your entry hazard remover carefully, keeping it alive to consistently get Pyroak into battle safely. Pyroak should pressure switch-ins by appropriately using Toxic, Leech Seed, and Lava Plume as they come in. If a certain switch-in like Mega Crucibelle or Gastrodon is predicted, it is advised to use the appropriate coverage move to deal super effective damage to them.

Team Options
========

Pyroak requires the removal of entry hazards from the field, particularly Stealth Rock, to maintain its longevity. Thus, Rapid Spin users such as Tomohawk and Colossoil and Defog users such as Landorus-T, Tornadus-T, and Zapdos are appreciated. Pyroak is able to reliably set Stealth Rock, so Pokemon that generally appreciate chip damage such as Mega Crucibelle and Tapu Lele like the support that Pyroak gives. They also appreciate Pyroak's ability to threaten common switch-ins to them. Electric-types like Krilowatt, Caribolt, and Tapu Koko make good partners, as they can check dangerous Flying-types like Tornadus-T, as well as Water- and Fire-types such as Arghonaut and Heatran, for Pyroak while it removes Ferrothorn and Jumbao, which can otherwise stop them cold. Spikes setters such as Greninja and Arghonaut can work with Pyroak to form a potent hazard stacking core, racking up chip damage against the opposing side. Pyroak is a potent stop to Fairy-types such as Tapu Koko and Jumbao, so Pokemon that like them removed such as Colossoil, Tomohawk, Pajantom, and Mega Latios appreciate the support that Pyroak gives.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Aromatherapy can be used to remove harmful status effects like burns and Toxic poison from teammates and Pyroak itself, but it generally struggles to find a moveslot for it. Will-O-Wisp is an option to spread burns to physical attackers much more reliably than Lava Plume, but it also competes with Pyroak's other moveslot heavily.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Residual Damage**: Stealth Rock deals heavy damage to Pyroak as it switches in, cutting into its survivability as a defensive Pokemon and making it much easier for attackers to OHKO or 2HKO it. Toxic also cuts into Pyroak's bulk by placing it on a timer, although it can be remedied through Aromatherapy.

**Pajantom**: Pajantom is completely immune to burns and poison from Pyroak thanks to Comatose, can disable Pyroak's recovery with Heal Block, and can trap it with Spirit Shackle, leaving Pyroak helpless to a Z-Move or Toxic damage.

**Flying-types**: Tomohawk and Tornadus-T can easily take Pyroak's attacks and force it out with their super effective Flying-type attacks while also being able to heal off damage with Roost and Regenerator, respectively. Cawmodore, Mega Pinsir, Landorus-T, and Hawlucha can threaten it out with their Flying-type STAB when boosted, but they cannot set up on it directly because of Lava Plume and Roar.

**Mega Tyranitar**: Mega Tyranitar is bulky enough to take any attack from Pyroak reliably, can force it out with Stone Edge, and can significantly cut into its recovery thanks to Sand Stream. Keep in mind, however, that it does not like being burned by Lava Plume.

**Poison-types**: Mega Crucibelle, Plasmanta, and Mollux can all threaten out Pyroak with their super effective Poison-type attacks and are immune to Toxic. Mollux in particular is also immune to burns and tanks Lava Plume reliably. However, all of them fear Earth Power, and Mega Crucibelle does not like to be burned. Mega Venusaur can shrug off all of Pyroak's attacks thanks to Thick Fat and easily forces it out with Sludge Bomb.

**Setup Sweepers** If Pyroak is not running Roar, setup sweepers such as Calm Mind Clefable, Calm Mind Latias, and Quiver Dance Volcarona can use it as setup bait. Snaelstrom is immune to any status Pyroak can throw at it thanks to Poison Heal and can use Pyroak as setup bait thanks to its bulk. Physical setup sweepers like Hawlucha and Swords Dance Gliscor can also set up on Pyroak, but they have to be wary of burns from Lava Plume, with Mega Crucibelle in particular having to watch out for Earth Power.

**Fire-types**: While it must be wary of Earth Power, Heatran can switch into any of Pyroak's other attacks and shut it down with Taunt. Choice Specs Volkraken can threaten Pyroak out with its strong STAB attacks, but it can't take Earth Power repeatedly.

[OVERVIEW]

- Good bulk and access to reliable recovery in Synthesis make Pyroak a great defensive Pokemon. I don't think reliable is the word you're looking for since Synthesis is weather dependant.
- Fire/Grass typing gives it resistances to common Steel-type, Grass-type, and Fairy-type Pokemon in the tier like Kartana, Magearna, Jumbao, Ferrothorn, and Celesteela. You could add Electric Types as well since Pyroak can deal with Kril and Koko.
- Can also reliably set Stealth Rock against these Pokemon.
- Can use a number of other utility options like Roar and Aromatherapy.

- Susceptibility to entry hazards, particularly Stealth Rock, can wear it down and can make it troublesome to get in.
- Quite slow with middling Special Attack means Pyroak commonly has little offensive presense.
- Common Flying-types, Poison-types, and Rock-types like Mega Crucibelle, Tornadus-T, Plasmanta, and Tomohawk can consistently force it out with their super-effective attacks.

- Leech Seed also is a great option on Pyroak, allows you to take on bulkier teams at a better advantage, I'd mention it's combo with Toxic/Lava Burn.

- Alternatively, 248 HP and 252 Special Defense with a Calm Nature can instead be used to maximize Pyroak's special bulk, helping it better take attacks from Syclant and Mega Latios. I would move this to oo
- Leftovers is the preferred item, as it maximizes Pyroak's recovery through passive healing.
- Battle Armor is used to prevent the possibility of critical hits.

Usage Tips
========

- Setting up Stealth Rock should immediately be one of Pyroak's biggest priorities in battle, as its greatly appreciates the extra chip damage Stealth Rock can provide. If Stealth Rock has already been set, Pyroak should pressure opposing Pokemon with its attacking options.
-Toxic, if ran, can be used to annoy incoming switch-ins with status inflictions, and can help wear down bulkier threats for the rest of the team. If the incoming switch-in is likely a Steel-type, however, it is best to use Lava Plume to hit them super-effectively.
- Pyroak has resistances to multiple common types in the metagame, so it should be switched in on Pokemon who primarily use these resisted types like Tapu Koko, Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Clefable.
- Lava Plume should be used as your main move for dealing damage once hazards are up, as it has a high chance of crippling physical attackers with burns, which can also cancel out Leftovers on bulkier foes. If a certain switch-in like Mega Crucibelle is predicted, then it is advised to use the appropriate coverage to deal super effective damage to them.

- Earth Power lets Pyroak hit Poison-types like Mollux, Plasmanta, and Mega Crucibelle super-effectively, while also serving as Pyroak's best option against Heatran. i don't see why heatran is singled out this way - ep is by far the best option so you aren't walled by heatran, but the way it's worded now sounds like "pyroak doesn't have anything better to hit heatran with, so ep will do" - it's true, but the way it gets across imo doesn't convey that ep is great because it hits heatran.

there needs to be a Fire-type section at the bottom here - even though they hate rocks and ep, they still can crack open pyroak
let me see this implemented and then it'll be QC 1/3

**Setup Sweepers** If Pyroak is not running without Roar, setup sweepers such as Calm Mind Clefable, Calm Mind Latias, and Quiver Dance Volcarona can use Pyroak as setup bait. Physical setup sweepers like Dragon Dance Zygarde, Hawlucha, and Coil Mega Crucibelle can also set up on Pyroak, but they have to be wary of burns from Lava Plume.

**Fire-types**: While it must be wary of Earth Power, Heatran can switch into any of Pyroak's other attacks, and can shut it down with Taunt. Choice Specs Volkraken can threaten Pyroak out with its strong STAB attacks, but can't take repeated hits from Earth Power.
Fix things - QC 1/3

[Overview]

- Good bulk thanks to its solid defensive stats
Good bulk and solid defensive stats have the exact same meaning, so remove 1 of the 2.

- Fire/Grass typing gives it resistances to common Steel-type, Grass-type, and Fairy-type Pokemon in the tier like Magearna, Jumbao, Ferrothorn, and Celesteela, while also being one of few reliable stops to Dragon Dance Naviathan, Krilowatt and Kartana.
There's definitely more than a few reliable stops to Kartana, use another example such as Mega Mawile. Also mention Tapu Koko somewhere here because it's a very good Pokemon that Pyroak checks.

- Can also reliably set Stealth Rock against these Pokemon.
I wouldn't really set Stealth Rock against something such as Naviathan because of the threat that it poses to bulky teams.

- Susceptibility to entry hazards can wear it down and can make it troublesome to get in. Stealth Rock is particularly hazardous to Pyroak, as it significantly cuts into its bulk and makes it much easier for Pokemon like Volkraken to break through it.
Volkraken is breaking through phys Def Pyroak regardless. Choice Specs 2HKOes even without an analytic boost, and Choice Scarf 2HKOes if Pyroak switches in.

- Quite slow with middling Special Attack means Pyroak commonly has little offensive presense.
Can punish switches with Lava Plume (burns), Toxic, and Leech Seed, and can also shuffle Pokemon with Roar, which doesn't make it as passive as u make it seem.

- Has to rely heavily on Lava Plume burns to deal with strong physical attackers like Zygarde.
I don't think Zygarde is that big of an issue considering it has to risk switching into Lava Plume, Toxic, or Will-O-Wisp, which can all punish it, and Pyroak can even phaze Zygarde with Roar if it decides to set up.

[Moves]

- Giga Drain can be run over Earth Power to better hit Ground-types and Water-types like Colossoil, Gastrodon, Arghonaut, and Krilowatt.
Arghonaut snacks Giga Drain, Toxic or even Lava Plume and Leech Seed are a lot better at pressuring it.

- Toxic is also an acceptable alternative that can cripple bulky Pokemon such as Zygarde, Tomohawk, and Landorus-T while also annoying incoming switch-ins with status.
Generally speaking you won't want to Toxic a Landorus-T because burning it is simply of much more value.

[Set Details]

- Alternatively, 248 HP and 252 Special Defense with a Calm Nature can instead be used to maximize Pyroak's special bulk, helping it better take attacks from Syclant, Mega Latios, Tapu Lele, Ash-Greninja, and Volkraken.
Syclant pressures the fuck out of Pyroak whether it's physically or specially defensive. Choice Specs Tapu Lele 2HKOes anyway. And it's still not that good of a Volkraken check.

[Usage Tips]

- Pyroak has resistances to multiple common types in the metagame, so it should be switched in on Pokemon who primarily use these resisted types like Tapu Koko, Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Clefable. This also causes a lot of switches, so Pyroak can use those free turns to set up Stealth Rocks or use Lava Plume.
That's a free Calm Mind or Wish for Clefable, mention Magearna here instead. This also creates a free turn to Leech Seed, which is more annoying to switch into Lava Plume.

[Team Options]

- Pyroak is able to reliably set Stealth Rock, so Pokemon who generally appreciate chip damage such as Shell Smash Necturna, Mega Crucibelle, Tapu Lele and like the support that Pyroak gives.
Shell Smash is a pretty poor example imo because you aren't going to be using them on the same team very often. Also, the main draw to using it with Mega Crucibelle or Tapu Lele is because it consistently pressures their switch ins, so mention that aswell.

- Electric-types like Krilowatt and Tapu Koko make good partners, as they can check dangerous Flying-types for Pyroak while it removes Ferrothorn, which can otherwise stop them cold.
They also pressure Water- and Fire-type Pokemon such as Arghonaut and Heatran, which gives Pyroak more space to run something else like Toxic or Leech Seed. Add Jumbao as another example next to Ferrothorn.

- Pyroak can remove dangerous Steel-types like Celesteela, Ferrothorn, and Kartana, so Pokemon who like them removed such as Mega Crucibelle, Tapu Koko, and Tapu Lele are good partners.
You mentioned all of these before so this point doesn't have to be covered again and should be removed.

-Pyroak is a potent stop to Fairy-types such as Tapu Koko, Jumbao, and Clefable, so Pokemon who like them removed such as Colossoil, Tomohawk, Pajantom, and Mega Latios appreciate the support that Pyroak gives.
It's a bad Clefable check because it isn't doing anything back at all.

[Checks and Counters]

Cawmodore, Mega Pinsir, and Hawlucha can threaten it out with their Flying-type STAB when boosted, but they cannot set up on it directly because of Lava Plume and Roar.
Mention Landorus-T here aswell.

Physical setup sweepers like Dragon Dance Zygarde, Hawlucha, and Coil Mega Crucibelle can also set up on Pyroak, but they have to be wary of burns from Lava Plume.
Also mention that Mega Crucibelle gets hit by Earth Power.

[OVERVIEW]

With good bulk and access to reliable recovery in Synthesis, Pyroak is a great defensive Pokemon in the metagame. Its Fire/Grass typing gives it resistances to common Steel-, Grass-, and Fairy-type Pokemon like Magearna, Jumbao, Ferrothorn, and Celesteela, while also being one of few reliable stops to Dragon Dance Naviathan, Krilowatt, Tapu Koko, and Mega Mawile. It can also set Stealth Rock against most of these Pokemon, making Pyroak an effective hazard setter, while also having the ability to run other utility options like Roar, Leech Seed, and Aromatherapy.

Pyroak has a suspectibility to every entry hazard however, meaning it can be worn down quickly through repeated switches and can make it troublesome to get into play. The weakness to Stealth Rock is particularly hazardous, as it significantly cuts into Pyroak’s bulk and makes it much easier for Pokemon such as Colossoil and Hoopa-Unbound to break through it. Pyroak’s middling Special Attack also means that it has to rely on status and hazard damage to deal any meaningful damage, with Lava Plume burns being essential to dealing with strong physical attackers like Hawlucha. I like mentioning spreading status, its one of the main things Pyroak does. However, Pyroak isn't a Chansey, it does more than enough damage with stab moves and earth power against what it aims to check. I'd like you to remove the Spa point entirely, its not a relevant flaw for a wall, and then mention status spreading with your utility point. Futhermore, common Flying-, Rock-, and Poison-type attackers such as Mega Crucibelle, Tomohawk, Tornadus-T, and Plasmanta can consistently force it out with their super-effective attacks. Finally, Pyroak faces competition from Ferrothorn as a Grass-type hazard setter, as it has an immunity to Poison-type attacks and a resistance to Stealth Rock.

Moves
========

Lava Plume is Pyroak's primary STAB move, pressuring Steel-types and Grass-type such as Kartana, Celesteela, Tapu Bulu, and Necturna while also threatening to cripple physical attackers like Zygarde and Hawlucha with burns. Earth Power lets Pyroak hit Poison-types like Mollux, Plasmanta, and Mega Crucibelle super effectively, while also letting Pyroak 2HKO Heatran, a Pokemon who can otherwise wall it with Taunt. Giga Drain can instead be used to better hit Ground- and Water-types like Colossoil, Gastrodon, and Krilowatt. Roar can be used to phaze out setup sweepers while they are setting up and should be used alongside Stealth Rock to rack up hazard damage, but Pyroak generally prefers the extra coverage options against incoming switch-ins and is walled by Taunt Heatran. Pyroak is a very reliable setter of Stealth Rock, as its typing can force Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Magearna to switch out, giving Pyroak ample opportunity to set it up. Leech Seed can be used instead if one of Pyroak's teammates is already a reliable Stealth Rock setter, allowing Pyroak to passively sap away a foe's health and overall increasing Pyroak's longevity throughout the match. Toxic is also an acceptable alternative that can cripple bulky Pokemon such as Zygarde, Arghonaut and Tomohawk while also annoying incoming switch-ins with status. Synthesis keeps Pyroak healthy throughout the battle, letting it heal off Stealth Rock damage and strong hits.

248 HP and 252 Defense with a Bold Nature helps maximize Pyroak's physical bulk, allowing it to wall Pokemon such as Dragon Dance Naviathan, Kartana, and non-Z variants of Landorus-T. Alternatively, 248 HP and 252 Special Defense with a Calm Nature can instead be used to maximize Pyroak's special bulk, helping it better take attacks from Mega Latios and Ash-Greninja. Leftovers is the optimal item, as it maximizes Pyroak's recovery through passive healing. Battle Armor is the preferred ability so Pyroak never has to worry about critical hits.

Usage Tips
========

Pyroak has resistances to multiple common types in the metagame, so it should be switched in on Pokemon who primarily use these resisted types like Tapu Koko, Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Magearna. It'd be a lot cleaner to just say "Switch into resisted hits from Pokemon such as X, Y, Z". Also mention Mega Mawile. This also causes a lot of switches, so Pyroak can use those free turns to set up Stealth Rock or use Leech Seed. Pyroak is quite vulnerable to entry hazards, so it is important to use your hazard remover carefully, keeping them alive to consistently get Pyroak into battle safely. Setting up Stealth Rock should immediately be one of Pyroak's biggest priorities in battle, as it greatly appreciates the extra chip damage Stealth Rock can provide. Misleading when Pyroaks main focus is checking what it wants to. You're not going to trade Pyroak just to get Rocks up, for example. Get rid of this sentence. If Stealth Rock has already been set, Pyroak should pressure opposing Pokemon with Lava Plume, Leech Seed, and Toxic. IMO condense this with the previous sentence about using SR on switchins. If ran, Toxic should be used on incoming switch-ins to annoy them with status inflictions, as it helps Pyroak wear down bulkier threats for the rest of the team. If the incoming switch-in is likely a Steel-type, however, it is best to use Lava Plume to hit them super-effectively. Leech Seed should also be used on opposing switch-ins to sap away health, increasing Pyroak's longevity and generally wearing down foes. Grass-types also don't like coming in on Pyroak, so it is safe to use in variety of situations. Lava Plume should be used as your main move for dealing damage once hazards are up, as it has a high chance of crippling physical attackers with burns, which can also cancel out Leftovers on bulkier foes. These sentences are more appropriate for the moves section and should be removed. Say something along the lines of "Pyroak should pressure switch ins by appropriately using Toxic, Leech Seed, and Lava Plume on the switch." instead. If a certain switch-in like Mega Crucibelle or Gastrodon is predicted, then it is advised to use the appropriate coverage to deal super effective damage to them.

Spikes setters such as Greninja and Arghonaut can work with Pyroak to form a potent hazard stacking core, racking up chip damage against the opposing side. Aromatherapy can be used to remove harmful status effects like burns and Toxic from teammates and Pyroak itself, but it generally struggles to find a moveslot for it. Will-O-Wisp is an option to spread burns to physical attackers much more reliably than Lava Plume, but it also competes with Pyroak's other moveslot heavily.

Checks and Counters

**Residual Damage**: Stealth Rock deals heavy damage to Pyroak upon switch-in, cutting into its survivability as a defensive Pokemon and making it much easier for attackers to OHKO or 2HKO it. Toxic also cuts into Pyroak's bulk by placing it on a timer, although it can be remedied through Aromatherapy.

**Flying-types**: Tomohawk and Tornadus-T can easily take Pyroak's attacks and force it out with their super effective Flying-type attacks while also being able to heal off damage with Roost and Regenerator respectively. Cawmodore, Mega Pinsir, Landorus-T, and Hawlucha can threaten it out with their Flying-type STAB when boosted, but they cannot set up on it directly because of Lava Plume and Roar.

**Poison-types**: Mega Crucibelle, Plasmanta, and Mollux can all threaten out Pyroak with their super effective Poison-type attacks and are immune to Toxic. Also, just a reminder to add Caribolt, Smokomodo, and Snaelstrom mentions if applicable anywhere.

Physical setup sweepers like Dragon Dance Zygarde, Hawlucha, and Coil Mega Crucibelle can also set up on Pyroak, but they have to be wary of burns from Lava Plume, with Mega Crucibelle in particular having to watch out for Earth Power.

**Fire-types**: While it must be wary of Earth Power, Heatran can switch into any of Pyroak's other attacks (RC) and can shut it down with Taunt. Choice Specs Volkraken can threaten Pyroak out with its strong STAB attacks, but it can't take repeated hits from Earth Power.

Hello, AMGP

It can also effectively set Stealth Rock against most of these Pokemon, as well as having the ability to run other utility options like Roar, Leech Seed, and Aromatherapy and being able to inflict a number of harmful status inflictions.

Pyroak has a suspectibility susceptibility to every entry hazard, however, meaning it can be worn down quickly through repeated switches and can be troublesome to get into play. The weakness to Stealth Rock is particularly hazardous, as it significantly cuts into Pyroak’s bulk and makes it much easier for Pokemon such as Colossoil and Hoopa-U to break through it.

Moves
========

Earth Power lets Pyroak hit Poison-types like Mollux, Plasmanta, and Mega Crucibelle super effectively, as well as 2HKO Heatran, which can otherwise shut it down with Taunt. Giga Drain can instead be used to better hit Ground- and Water-types like Colossoil, Gastrodon, and Krilowatt. Roar can be used to phaze setup sweepers and should be used alongside Stealth Rock to rack up entry hazard damage, but Pyroak generally prefers the extra coverage options against incoming switch-ins and is or it will be walled by Taunt Heatran. Pyroak is a very reliable setter of Stealth Rock, as its typing can force Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Magearna to switch out, giving Pyroak ample opportunity to set it up.

Set Details
========

Alternatively, 248 HP and 252 Special Defense with a Calm nature can be used to maximize Pyroak's special bulk, helping it better take attacks from Mega Latios and Ash-Greninja.

Usage Tips
========

Switch Pyroak into resisted hits from Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Ferrothorn, Kartana, Caribolt, and Magearna (Add Space) and use their switches to set up Stealth Rock or pressure the opposing team with other moves like Lava Plume if Stealth Rock is already set.

========

Electric-types like Krilowatt, Caribolt, and Tapu Koko make good partners, as they can check dangerous Flying-types like Tornadus-T, as well as Water- and Fire-types such as Arghonaut and Heatran, (RC) for Pyroak while it removes Ferrothorn and Jumbao, which can otherwise stop them cold.

=============

===================

**Residual Damage**: Stealth Rock deals heavy damage to Pyroak as it switches in, cutting into its survivability (I honestly think longevity is better here, because my oxford dictionary doesn't have that word lol) as a defensive Pokemon and making it much easier for attackers to OHKO or 2HKO it. Toxic also cuts into Pyroak's bulk by placing it on a timer, although it can be remedied through Aromatherapy.

**Pajantom**: Pajantom is completely immune to burns and poison from Pyroak thanks to Comatose, can disable Pyroak's recovery with Heal Block, and can trap it with Spirit Shackle, leaving Pyroak helpless to a Z-Move (capital letter) or Toxic damage.

Keep in mind, (AC) however, (AC) that it does not like being burned by Lava Plume.

Snaelstrom is immune to any status Pyroak can throw at it thanks to Poison Heal, and can use Pyroak as setup bait thanks to its bulk. Physical setup sweepers like Dragon Dance Zygarde (Zygarde is banned), Hawlucha, and Coil Mega Crucibelle can also set up on Pyroak, but they have to be wary of burns from Lava Plume, with Mega Crucibelle in particular having to watch out for Earth Power.

**Fire-types**: While it must be wary of Earth Power, Heatran can switch into any of Pyroak's other attacks and shut it down with Taunt. Choice Specs Volkraken can threaten Pyroak out with its strong STAB attacks, but it can't take repeated hits from Earth Power repeatedly.
