Moves
========

Sunny Day's use on Pyroar is multipurpose: it provides a significant power increase to Fire Blast and Inferno Overdrive, thus improving Pyroar's cleaning potential; it boosts Pyroar's Speed by 1.5x when used in tandem with Firium Z, which allows Pyroar to outspeed the majority of the metagame and OHKO standard Choice Scarf users like Primeape and Togedemaru; it eliminates Solar Beam's charge turn and therefore grants Pyroar access to more powerful Grass-type coverage for Pokemon that would otherwise counter Pyroar; and lastly, it reduces the power of Water-type moves for five turns and enables Pyroar to avoid being 2HKOed by Assault Vest Lanturn's Scald most of the time, rather than having a chance to be OHKOed. Fire Blast is Pyroar's STAB move of choice and OHKOes Ice-, Bug-, Grass-, and Steel-types such as Jynx, Pinsir, Ferroseed, and Togedemaru while denting anything without a resistance to it. The boost to its power provided by Sunny Day and/or Firium Z enables Pyroar to OHKO bulkier Pokemon like Skuntank and Mesprit. Hyper Voice deals neutral damage to Pokemon that resist both Fire Blast and Solar Beam, like Silvally-Dragon, Drampa, and opposing Pyroar. Additionally, it is able to damage foes behind Substitutes, which can come into play against attackers like Jynx and Mesprit. Solar Beam does not require an extra turn to charge when Sunny Day is in play, and it blasts Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types harder than Pyroar's dual STAB attacks. Most notably, Solar Beam OHKOes Carracosta, Lycanroc, and Kabutops while also severely damaging Pokemon that regularly switch into Pyroar, like Regirock and Lanturn. Given that Sunny Day Pyroar's main role is cleaning up weakened teams, Flamethrower's use over Fire Blast can be justified due to its improved accuracy and reliability. However, when Fire Blast is powered into a single-use Inferno Overdrive via Firium Z, it hits significantly harder with Sunny Day in play than Flamethrower.

Set Details
========

Maximum investment in Speed and Special Attack with a Timid nature lets Pyroar outspeed and OHKO notable threats such as Jynx, Lilligant, and Togedemaru. Its remaining 4 EVs are placed in Special Defense to reduce the chance Pyroar will be 2HKOed by Assault Vest Lanturn's Scald with Sunny Day in play by roughly 14%. Firium Z's purpose is twofold: not only does it boost Pyroar's Speed by 1.5x when used in tandem with Sunny Day, allowing Pyroar to outspeed nearly every Choice Scarf user in the tier, save other Pyroar and Alolan Dugtrio, but it also converts Fire Blast into a single-use, 185-Base Power attack that is capable of OHKOing specially bulky Pokemon such as Assault Vest Eelektross after Stealth Rock damage when boosted by Sunny Day. Unnerve prevents Pyroar's foes from consuming Berries, which is situationally useful against Pokemon like Aguav Berry Spiritomb.

Usage Tips
========

Using Firium Z optimally in a match depends largely on the opponent's team composition: if it is unlikely Pyroar will be revenge killed due to the other side lacking a Choice Scarf user or a strong priority move, it is best to fire off Inferno Overdrive when the extra burst damage is needed to bring down a bulkier target. Conversely, if a Speed boost is necessary for Pyroar to clean up against more offensively oriented teams with better ways to keep fast foes in check, Firium Z should be conserved and used together with Sunny Day late-game. Holding a Z-Crystal allows Pyroar to avoid the effects of Switcheroo and Trick, so when predicted correctly, these moves can be used as an opportunity to switch in and set up Sunny Day on the following turn. Additionally, holding a Z-Crystal lets Pyroar take less damage from Knock Off, so weaker users of the move like Shuckle that may be scouting for Pyroar's item can be taken advantage of and set up on. Avoid switching Pyroar into Stealth Rock too many times when attempting to blow past some of its checks, as it is important to stay out of range of super effective priority moves, like Kabutops's Aqua Jet, Lycanroc's Accelerock, and Hitmonchan's and Gurdurr's Mach Punch. Sunny Day can be used to reduce the damage of Water-type moves for Pyroar and its teammates, like Swanna's Scald, Lanturn's Scald, and Carracosta's Aqua Jet. While Solar Beam is an effective tool for Pyroar to wear down its own counters, do not overestimate its power. It is best to use it on the switch when a predicted counter such as Assault Vest Lanturn or specially defensive Regirock is coming in or to stay in for the KO against them when they are around half health or lower. Given its middling bulk, Pyroar should use its typing to pivot into moves it's immune to as much as possible, like Weezing's Will-O-Wisp and Haunter's Shadow Ball. Finally, when attempting to clean via Z-Sunny Day's Speed boost, be wary of Pokemon like Aurorus that automatically trigger weather effects upon entering battle. When the sun is replaced by Aurorus's Snow Warning, Pyroar's Fire Blast will lose its damage buff, and Solar Beam must again be charged before being used.

Team Options
========

While Pyroar is able to set up Sunny Day for itself, doing so can be risky given its mediocre defenses. As a result, it meshes well with bulkier partners that can reliably set up Sunny Day, like Mesprit and Volbeat. Both Pokemon are able to use their slow U-turn to bring in Pyroar for free after setting up, which gives it more breathing room to nuke something with a sun-boosted Inferno Overdrive. Volbeat and Mesprit are also able to switch into the Ground- and Fighting-type moves that Pyroar is weak to. Additionally, Mesprit can facilitate a Pyroar sweep by laying Stealth Rock or bring Pyroar back for a second attempt at sweeping via Healing Wish. Sunny Day Regirock is an excellent partner to Pyroar for similar reasons; not only can it support Pyroar by setting up Stealth Rock and Sunny Day, but it can also provide Pyroar refuge from strong physical priority users like Kangaskhan and Skuntank. In return, Pyroar checks many of the Pokemon that use Regirock as setup fodder, like Weezing, Ferroseed, and Lurantis. Offensive Grass-types in general are effective teammates for Pyroar, as they are able to best many of Pyroar's checks and counters. For example, Lilligant, Bellossom, and Victreebel are able to scare out Regirock, Lanturn, and Carbink and use this as an opportunity to set up. At the same time, they are able to use Pyroar's Sunny Day to double their Speed via Chlorophyll. Shiftry works similarly and weakens Pyroar's checks and counters with its dual STAB moves; however, keep in mind that building with Shiftry, Pyroar, and a sun setter like Regirock together necessitates a sufficient defensive answer to strong Fighting-types with priority like Hitmonchan and Gurdurr. Bulky Grass-types like Tangela and Lurantis also share great synergy with Pyroar and are able to sponge attacks from offensive Water- and Ground-types like Kabutops and Alolan Dugtrio. Pyroar often struggles to break past specially defensive components of stall and balance, especially walls like Clefairy and Type: Null, so physically offensive Pokemon with access to Taunt and/or a type advantage like Aggron and Skuntank can weaken them enough for Pyroar to break through. Similarly, dismantling them by removing Eviolite via Knock Off or Trick makes them more vulnerable to Pyroar, so Pokemon with access to these moves like Eelektross, Leafeon, and Mesprit are beneficial teammates. Weezing also deserves a mention for its ability to pressure staples of stall like Audino through its use of Toxic Spikes and Taunt. Additionally, Weezing counters Hitmonchan for Pyroar, and both its Rocky Helmet and Toxic Spikes are useful for placing Hitmonchan in range of being KOed by Pyroar's Inferno Overdrive.

yogi, regarding this comment, I have an AV Hitmonchan spread that provides better protection against Pyroar and Aurorus than those below, but against the spread the damage calc uses / the analysis' spread, this is what Z-Fire Blast does in sun after 1 layer of Spikes / Stealth Rock. Knowing that this is not a guaranteed KO, I framed this point as there being a possibility this can OHKO AV Hitmonchan in this sentence here: "...it also converts Fire Blast into a single-use, 185 BP attack that is capable of OHKOing specially bulky Pokemon such as Assault Vest Hitmonchan..." I think this should be okay to keep, as long as I don't present it as a guaranteed OHKO, right?

I think it's alright to present it that way, but I would conceivably frame it in a manner that suggests this isn't a reliable roll due to its very low chance, since I don't think it's ideal for the analysis to encourage the Pyroar user to actively bank on such a small chance outside of desperate situations. This is especially considering that if you don't get the chance, you lose your Pyroar while Hitmonchan gains a sizable amount of HP back, which is a terrible exchange. Also, standard Hitmonchan pretty much always uses 244 HP nowadays, so let's just go with that for reference.

  • Firium Z's purpose is twofold: not only does it boost Pyroar's Speed by 1.5x when used in tandem with Sunny Day worth noting that this allows it to outspeed every relevant choice scarf user in the tier barring opposing pyroar equipped with a scarf, a speed tie, but it also converts Fire Blast into a single-use, 185 BP attack that is capable of OHKOing specially bulky Pokemon such as Assault Vest Hitmonchan refer to my initial response to your post, Audino not the most ideal example given how audino should be playing against this after taking rocks damage. it should always use protect first turn to allow its leftovers to get out of range of sun-boosted firium z and to burn a turn of sunny day. it if switches into pyroar's sunny day and it has only gotten chipped by rocks, leftovers will recover it out of range in that turn also. z move that has been nullified by protect into fire blast under sun also does not 2hko, and Assault Vest Eelektross when boosted by Sunny Day and after Stealth Rock damage.
  • Unnerve prevents Pyroar's foes from consuming berries, which is situationally useful against Pokemon like Aguav Berry Spiritomb, as well as others that may attempt to mitigate super effective Fire- or Grass-type damage through the use of an Occa Berry or a Rindo Berry, respectively.
Usage Tips
========
  • Using Firium Z optimally in a match depends largely on the opponent's team composition: if it is unlikely Pyroar will be revenge KOed due to the other side lacking a Choice Scarf user or a strong priority move, then it is best to fire off Z-Fire Blast when the extra burst damage is needed to bring down a bulkier target. Conversely, if a speed boost is necessary for Pyroar to clean up against more offensively-oriented teams with better speed control, then Firium Z should be conserved and used together with Sunny Day late-game.
  • Holding a Z-crystal allows Pyroar to avoid the effects of Switcheroo and Trick, so when predicted correctly, these moves can be used as an opportunity to switch in and set up Sunny Day on the following turn. Additionally, holding a Z-crystal lets Pyroar take less damage from Knock Off, so weaker users of the move like Audino Pyroar loses to Audino due to the aforementioned reasons (although it can safely set up and then pivot into its teammates, I suppose), so an example like Sableye would be more preferred and Shuckle that may be scouting for Pyroar's item can be taken advantage of and set up on.
  • Avoid switching Pyroar into Stealth Rock too many times when attempting to blow past some of its checks, as it is important to stay out of range of super effective priority moves, like Kabutops's Aqua Jet, Lycanroc's Accelerock, and Hitmonchan's and Gurdurr's Mach Punch.
  • Sunny Day can be used to reduce the damage of Water-type moves for Pyroar and its teammates, like Swanna's Scald, Lanturn's Scald, and Carracosta's Aqua Jet.
  • While Solar Beam is an effective tool for Pyroar to wear down its own counters, do not overestimate its power. It is best to use it on the switch when a predicted counter such as Assault Vest Lanturn or specially defensive Regirock is coming in, or to stay in for the KO against Regirock when it's at 52% HP or lower or Lanturn when it's at 44% HP or lower.
  • Despite its middling bulk, Pyroar can use its typing to pivot into moves it's immune to, like Weezing's Will-O-Wisp or Haunter's Shadow Ball.
  • Finally, when attempting to clean via Z-Sunny Day's speed boost, be wary of Pokemon like Aurorus that automatically trigger weather effects upon entering battle. When the sun is blotted out by Aurorus's Snow Warning, Pyroar's Fire Blast will lose its damage buff, and Solar Beam must again be charged before being used.
Team Options
========
  • While Pyroar is able to set up Sunny Day for itself, doing so can be risky given its mediocre defenses. So, it meshes well with bulkier partners that can reliably set up Sunny Day for Pyroar, like Mesprit and Volbeat. Both Pokemon are able to use their slow U-turn to bring in Pyroar for free after setting up, which gives it more breathing room to nuke something with a Sunny Day-boosted Inferno Overdrive. Volbeat and Mesprit are also able to switch into Ground- and Fighting-type moves on Pyroar's behalf. Additionally, Mesprit can facilitate a Pyroar sweep by laying Stealth Rock or bring Pyroar back for a second attempt at sweeping via Healing Wish.
  • Sunny Day Regirock is an excellent partner to Pyroar for similar reasons. Not only can it support Pyroar by setting up Stealth Rock and Sunny Day, but it can also provide Pyroar refuge from strong physical attackers with access to priority like Kangaskhan and Skuntank. In return, Pyroar checks many of the Pokemon that use Regirock as setup fodder, like Weezing, Ferroseed, and Lurantis.
  • Offensive (this is just to visibly differentiate the section between offensive Grass-types and defensive ones) Grass-types in general are effective teammates for Pyroar, as they are able to best many of Pyroar's checks and counters. For example, Lilligant, Bellossom, and Victreebel are able to scare out Regirock, Lanturn, and Carbink and use this as an opportunity to set up with Quiver Dance and Growth, respectively. Additionally, they are able to use Pyroar's Sunny Day to double their Speed via Chlorophyll. I like Shiftry as a mention since it has Knock Off to cripple some checks like chan and clef, Defog to remove rocks, and otherwise can similarly benefit from the rest of the mentions from the Sun. i mostly bring up this one up due to some of the role compression that it can offer that serves to benefit pyroar
  • Bulky Grass-types like Tangela and Lurantis are also useful for switching into offensive Water- and Ground-types like Kabutops and Alolan Dugtrio on Pyroar's behalf.
  • Pyroar often struggles to break past specially defensive walls like Clefairy, and Type:Null, so physically offensive Pokemon with access to Taunt and/or a type advantage like Aggron and Skuntank can weaken these walls enough for Pyroar to break through. Similarly, dismantling them by removing Eviolite via Knock Off or Trick makes them more vulnerable to Pyroar, so Pokemon with access to these moves like Eelektross, Leafeon, and Mesprit are beneficial teammates.
  • I would possibly also add a section related to stallbreakers due to this set's distinctive disadvantage against the playstyle. It struggles to break past staples like Audino and is prone to its Z move being nullified by protect, combined with the playstyle's tendency to run other checks like carbink, regi, and clef for secondary checks. fat sensu is a fantastic mention since it's great at switching into hitmonchan also and can easily beat clef and type null. weezing is also an example with similar defensive capabilities that can give this playstyle the work, while also supporting pyroar through toxic spikes and rocky helmet to rack up chip damage against some checks. persian-a can also taunt+toxic the hell out of stall and offers parting shot support to ease pyroar in setting up. ori-e can also taunt+toxic to break stall, check fighting types (rocky helmet sets can chip chan into range of firium z more easily, etc), and forces easy toxic status on mutual switch-ins like lanturn and regi, etc.
Good write-up overall, my homie. 2/3 once these some of these changes are implemented.

I implemented most of this and appreciated feedback regarding Hitmonchan / Audino calcs. Did not add Oricorio forms to partners though, given that Sunny Day lowers Hurricane's accuracy, ie the only attack you'll be using on fatsensu/pompom. I think they are better partners to other variants of Pyroar, just not this specific set.

Anyway, this is written and ready for next check.

Sunny Day's use on Pyroar is multipurpose: first off,(AC) it provides a significant power increase to Fire Blast and Inferno Overdrive, thus improving Pyroar's cleaning potential;(RSC).(AP) Secondly,(AC) when used in tandem with Firium Z, Sunny Day boosts Pyroar's Speed by 1.5x, which allows Pyroar to outspeed the majority of the meta and OHKO standard Choice Scarf users like Primeape and Togedemaru;(RSC).(AP) Additionally,(AC) Sunny Day eliminates Solar Beam's charge turn, and therefore grants Pyroar access to more powerful Grass-type coverage for Pokemon that would otherwise counter Pyroar;(RSC).(AP) Lastly, it reduces the power of Water-type moves for 5 turns and enables Pyroar to avoid being 2HKOed by Assault Vest Lanturn's Scald most of the time, rather than having a chance to be OHKOed. (this sentence was ridiculously long, with improper semicolon use) Fire Blast is Pyroar's STAB move of choice and OHKOes Ice-, Bug-, Grass-, Steel-types such as Jynx, Pinsir, Ferroseed, and Togedemaru while denting anything without a resistance to it. Most notably, Solar Beam OHKOes Carracosta, Lycanroc, and Kabutops, while also severely damaging Pokemon that regularly switch into Pyroar, like Regirock and Lanturn.

Set Details

Maximum investment in Speed and Special Attack with a Timid nature lets Pyroar outspeed and OHKO notable threats such as Jynx, Lilligant, and Togedemaru. Its remaining 4 EVs are placed in Special Defense to reduce the chance Pyroar will be 2HKOed by Assault Vest Lanturn's Scald with Sunny Day in play by roughly 14%. Firium Z's purpose is twofold: not only does it boost Pyroar's Speed by 1.5x when used in tandem with Sunny Day, allowing Pyroar to outspeed nearly every Choice Scarf user in the tier, just save for other Pyroar and Alolan Dugtrio, but it also converts Fire Blast into a single-use, 185 BP attack that is capable of OHKOing specially bulky Pokemon such as Assault Vest Eelektross when boosted by Sunny Day and after Stealth Rock damage. Unnerve prevents Pyroar's foes from consuming berries, which is situationally useful against Pokemon like Aguav Berry Spiritomb, as well as others that may attempt to mitigate super effective Fire- or Grass-type damage through the use of an Occa Berry or a Rindo Berry, respectively.

Usage Tips
========

Using Firium Z optimally in a match depends largely on the opponent's team composition: if it is unlikely Pyroar will be revenge KOed due to the other side lacking a Choice Scarf user or a strong priority move, then it is best to fire off Z-Fire Blast when the extra burst damage is needed to bring down a bulkier target. Conversely, if a speed boost is necessary for Pyroar to clean up against more offensively-oriented teams with better speed control, then Firium Z should be conserved and used together with Sunny Day late-game. Avoid switching Pyroar into Stealth Rock too many times when attempting to blow past some of its checks, as it is important to stay out of range of super effective priority moves, like Kabutops's Aqua Jet, Lycanroc's Accelerock, and Hitmonchan's and Gurdurr's Mach Punch from Hitmonchan and Gurdurr (reads easier). It is best to use it on the switch when a predicted counter such as Assault Vest Lanturn or specially defensive Regirock is coming in, or to stay in for the KO against Regirock when it's at 52% HP or lower or Lanturn when it's at 44% HP or lower. Given its middling bulk, Pyroar should use its typing to pivot into moves it's immune to as much as possible, like Weezing's Will-O-Wisp or Haunter's Shadow Ball. Finally, when attempting to clean via Z-Sunny Day's speed boost, be wary of Pokemon like Aurorus that automatically trigger weather effects upon entering battle. When the sun is blotted out replaced by Aurorus's Snow Warning, Pyroar's Fire Blast will lose its damage buff, and Solar Beam must again be charged before being used. (it might be noteworthy to mention that Solar Beam's power is halved in Hail)

Team Options
========

While Pyroar is able to set up Sunny Day for itself, doing so can be risky given its mediocre defenses. So, it meshes well with bulkier partners that can reliably set up Sunny Day for Pyroar (redundant), like Mesprit and Volbeat. Both Pokemon are able to use their slow U-turn to bring in Pyroar for free after setting up, which gives it more breathing room to nuke something with a Sunny Day sun-boosted Inferno Overdrive. Volbeat and Mesprit are also able to switch into Ground- and Fighting-type moves that Pyroar is weak to on Pyroar's behalf. Additionally, Mesprit can facilitate a Pyroar sweep by laying Stealth Rock or bring Pyroar back for a second attempt at sweeping via Healing Wish. Sunny Day Regirock is an excellent partner to Pyroar for similar reasons; not only can it support Pyroar by setting up Stealth Rock and Sunny Day, but it can also provide Pyroar refuge from strong physical attackers with access to priority like Kangaskhan and Skuntank. In return, Pyroar checks many of the Pokemon that use Regirock as setup fodder, like Weezing, Ferroseed, and Lurantis. Offensive Grass-types in general are effective teammates for Pyroar, as they are able to best many of Pyroar's checks and counters. For example, Lilligant, Bellossom, and Victreebel are able to scare out Regirock, Lanturn, and Carbink and use this as an opportunity to set up with Quiver Dance and Growth, respectively. Bulky Grass-types like Tangela and Lurantis also share great synergy with Pyroar and are able to switch into offensive Water- and Ground-types like Kabutops and Alolan Dugtrio on its behalf (I dont see the purpose of this being here, and "on its behalf" implies that Pyroar would normally be switching into these moves, which it wouldn't be). Pyroar often struggles to break past specially defensive components of Stall and Balance, especially walls like Clefairy and Type:Null, so physically offensive Pokemon with access to Taunt and/or a type advantage like Aggron and Skuntank can weaken them enough for Pyroar to break through. Additionally, Weezing counters Hitmonchan for Pyroar, and both its Rocky Helmet and Toxic Spikes are useful for placing Hitmonchan in range of being KOed by Pyroar's Inferno Overdrive.

this was exceptionally written a shame that it never got gpd :(

okay i wanna draw attention to this sentence because the way 2x wrote it is correct, with just slight changes. what he did was use a colon as the beginning of a list and instead of using commas to separate the subjects in the list, he used semicolons, which is perfectly okay. e.g. I have been to Newcastle, Carlisle, and York in the North; Bristol, Exeter, and Portsmouth in the South; and Cromer, Norwich, and Lincoln in the East. (thanks to random website for the example). thus, the way you would write it here would be:

writer feel free to c/p that into the OP
what durza did is technically correct, but the changes weren't really needed because the original was correct in the first place. ok continuing
