[SET COMMENTS]

While Quagsire may not look like much on paper, and can be sometimes overlooked by Pokemon such as Toxapex and Slowbro, its typing and ability in the form of Unaware allow Quagsire to wall common physical set up sweepers such as Scizor, Excadrill, and Azumarill. Scald is a form of consistent STAB, which allows Quagsire to deal some damage and potentially spread burn, crippling common switch ins such as Rillaboom and Ferrothorn. Earthquake is a secondary form of STAB that deals decent damage to targets such as Volcarona and Primarina. Recover is used to keep Quagsire healthy throughout the match, enabling Quagsire to wall Pokemon throughout the duration of the match. Recover should be used on targets that aren't a threat to Quagsire, particularly Physical Attackers who have been burned by Scald, and passive Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Blissey. Toxic is a great status move that allows Quagsire to put a timer on set up sweepers such as Azumarill and Dragapult. Quagsire is also able to spread Toxic pretty consistently, as the only two types immune to Toxic are weak to Quagsire's Earthquake. Curse however is an option that should be considered, as it can provide stall teams with a late game win condition, and can be used to further boosts Quagsire's already good physical bulk. A Relaxed nature is best, as Quagsire is using both Special and Physical attacks, and the drop is speed is inconsequential.

Quagsire should be primarily used on Stall teams looking for an answer to set up sweepers such as Azumarill and Scizor. While Quagsire is very good at this specific role, it needs support from its team to be fully effective. Strong Special wallbreakers such as Specs Kyurem, Hydreigon, and Alakazam have no trouble blasting through Quagsire. As such, Blissey makes for an excellent partner, capable of taking on these Pokemon. Blissey can also potentially act as a cleric for Quagsire, as status can heavily dent its ability to act as a wall. Clefable can be an excellent partner, as it is capable of using Wish and Teleport to keep Quagsire healthy, and bring Quagsire in healthy. Quagsire of course struggles with Grass-types sure as Rillaboom and Tangrowth, so Corviknight and Skarmory make for great partners. Not only are they easily able to switch in on Grass-type attacks, but they can also support Quagsire in the form of entry hazard control, which can hinder Quagsire's ability to check powerful sweepers. Quagsire in return has no issue switching into Fire and Electric-type attacks aimed at the aforementioned Pokemon, meaning they have great synergy. While Quagsire is a great check to set up sweepers, it can sometimes be overwhelmed by strong Physical wallbreakers such as Crawdaunt and Urshifu, so having back up checks to these Pokemon like the previously mentioned Skarmory and Clefable will ease pressure off of Quagsire.
