[OVERVIEW]

Quagsire's primary function in the RU tier is to discourage and prevent sweeps from opposing physically inclined physical setup sweepers such as Cloyster, Mimikyu, Snorlax, and Cobalion with Unaware, while also possessing the typing and bulk to stand up against those like Darmanitan and Metagross which pose a more immediate threat. Though much better equipped against attackers on the physical side, it is also able to stop and force out setup variants of Raikou and Salazzle by virtue of its typing. As a Water / Ground type, Quagsire faces competition from the likes of Seismitoad and Gastrodon, the former having access to support options like Stealth Rock and Knock Off, and the latter having more overall much better special bulk. emphasize how its entirely outclassed by these 2 outside of unaware, which limits it to defensive teams only to better handle hits from the special side of the attacking spectrum. Its sole weakness to Grass (and Freeze-Dry from the likes of Alolan Ninetales, technically) helps it with taking damage but leaves it vulnerable against offensive threats such as Roserade, Xurkitree, and Celebi. Also, despite its niche as a wielder of the Unaware ability to help it keep physically based foes in check for its team, it is still easily overwhelmed by physical powerhouses such as Obstagoon, Durant, and Life Orb Mienshao. i would also mention its spdef being poop which means it still struggles vs stuff like idk chandelure

Vileplume in particular forms an incredible defensive core with Quagsire for its ability to take Grass-type attacks, including Xurkitree's Energy Ball, while Quagsire tanks the Fire-type attacks that would decimate Vileplume. Snorlax and Umbreon can help keep Chandelure and its Energy Ball in check. Crobat and Darmanitan make good teammates that deal with Grasses such as Roserade, Celebi, and Dhelmise. Hazard control from teammates such as Crobat, Flygon, and Togekiss helps Quagsire have more confidence switching into attacks throughout the game. Because Quagsire can be defeated by Toxic, it also appreciates cleric support from teammates like Diancie.

this paragraph (team options) goes a bit below and I will check it there

[SET]
name: Unaware Wall

nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

By way of Curse, Quagsire is able to take advantage of physically inclined foes physical attackers in a way that lets it act as a win condition and not just a practitioner of stall idk what this means, the term ur looking for might be "passive". It also notably increases the pool of Pokemon it is able to stand up to, as the likes of Obstagoon and Life Orb Mienshao become unable to break Quagsire after a single boost. Recover lets Quagsire keep itself healthy throughout the match, and can be used in tandem with Toxic to stall out enemies, while Earthquake scores a hard hit against most things Toxic won't affect such as?. Once revealed to the opponent, the fear of being overpowered by Curse Quagsire can manipulate their strategy into one that takes down Quagsire before it can bully the physical attackers, which you can use to predict double switches with teammates accordingly rn this is p vague, can you include examples or scenarios where this would be useful.

info here is generally fine, the order should follow the set though, which means it should be
earthquake > recover > toxic > haze > curse

Other Options
=============

Haze is an option that allows Quagsire to also make its teammates safe from setup and not just itself, which is particularly useful against setup variants of Reuniclus, but cannot be used in conjuction with Curse move this up. Scald allows Quagsire to further threaten physically inclined foes with Burn status on top of keeping them from sweeping mention it basically has no targets so other moves tend to be more consistent. For a more independent stall approach, Rest can be used in place of Recover to ensure that Quagsire is not beaten or forced out by Toxic status, although opponents can exploit its passivity or whatever.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass coverage**: Just about any Grass-type can OHKO Quagsire with a STAB attack. Other Pokemon such as Gardevoir and Xatu are able to similarly defeat it if they carry a Grass move. throw in xurk here

**Toxic**: Quagsire sets without Rest are shut down by Toxic status, rendering it doomed putting it on a timer for the match without cleric support.

**Xurkitree**: All variants of Xurkitree carry Energy Ball to immediately OHKO Quagsire; it is only safe for it in the event that it is Choice-locked into Thunderbolt or Volt Switch. Those with Heavy-Duty Boots are to especially be feared.

**Crobat**: Unaffected by both Toxic and Earthquake, Crobat can switch into Quagsire rather freely and be safe.

**Alolan Ninetales**: Freeze-Dry from Alolan Ninetales, as well as from common partner Arctozolt, scores a certain OHKO against Quagsire. this seems like a weird mention, I would probably throw this in a "special attackers" category

**Life Orb Attackers Wallbreakers**: Powerful Life Orb breakers such as Durant and Mienshao are capable of 2HKOing Quagsire on the switch and will win 1v1 without Curse boosts. Of note, Durant's Superpower stat drops are also ignored because of Unaware, so its damage is not mitigated.

**Obstagoon**:
Facade from a statused Guts Obstagoon is an easy 2HKO against Quagsire without boosts. this goes in wallbreakers too

Despite its niche as a wielder of the Unaware ability to help it keep physically based foes in check for its team, it is still easily overwhelmed by some physical powerhouses such as Obstagoon, Durant, and Life Orb Mienshao, and its poor Special Defense causes it to fold rather easily to strong special attackers such as Chandelure and Gardevoir.

[SET COMMENTS]

Earthquake serves as Quagsire's STAB attack, which allows it to deal damage alongside its utility. ok actually this move is p self-explanatory unless you think there's something relevant to be said Recover lets it keep itself healthy throughout the match, and can be used in tandem with Toxic to stall out enemies. It also notably increases the pool of Pokemon it is able to stand up to, as the likes of Obstagoon and Life Orb Mienshao become unable to break Quagsire after a single boost. Recover lets Quagsire keep itself healthy throughout the match, and can be used in tandem with Toxic to stall out enemies. Haze is an option that allows Quagsire to also make its teammates safe from setup and not just itself, which is particularly useful against setup variants of Reuniclus emphasize the fact that haze is p much abt reuniclus because otherwise stall just kinda folds, otherwise u want curse. Alternatively, Quagsire is able to take advantage of physical attackers with Curse in a way that lets it act as a win condition and not just a passive wall. It also increases the pool of Pokemon it is able to stand up to, as the likes of Obstagoon and Life Orb Mienshao become unable to break Quagsire after a single boost. Once revealed to the opponent, the fear of being overpowered by Curse Quagsire can manipulate their strategy into one that takes down Quagsire before it can bully the physical attackers, which you can use to predict double switches with teammates accordingly. For example, after your opponent realizes they won't break through physically, reading a swap into the opponent's special wallbreaker or Grass-type could allow you to freely get in a pivot or breaker of your own, like Darmanitan.

Other Options
=============

Scald allows Quagsire to further threaten physically inclined foes with Burn status on top of keeping them from sweeping, but as it has no actual targets, its other moves are more consistently useful. For a more independent stall approach, Rest can be used in place of Recover to ensure that Quagsire is not beaten or forced out by Toxic status, though this could allow it to be exploited during those two inactive turns.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass coverage**: Just about any Grass-type can OHKO Quagsire with a STAB attack. Other Pokemon such as Gardevoir and Xurkitree are able to similarly defeat it if they carry a Grass move.

**Toxic**: Quagsire sets without Rest are shut down by Toxic status, putting it on a timer for the match unless it has cleric support.

**Crobat**: Unaffected by both Toxic and Earthquake, Crobat can switch into Quagsire rather freely and be safe.

**Special Attackers**: As Quagsire has low Special Defense, it does not stand up well against special attackers such as? and cannot be expected to safely switch in, with the exception of Raikou and Salazzle.

**Wallbreakers**: Powerful breakers such as Obstagoon, Durant, and Life Orb Mienshao are capable of 2HKOing Quagsire on the switch and will win 1v1 without Curse boosts. Of note, Durant's Superpower stat drops are also ignored because of Unaware, so its damage is not mitigated.
