However, Quagsire's 4x weakness to Grass makes it unable to check Pokemon such as Nihilego and Gyarados, as they commonly carry Grass-type coverage. Chansey forms a solid defensive core with Quagsire, being able to check special attackers such as Nihilego and Thundurus-T, while Quagsire checks physical threats for it in return. Chansey's Heal Bell also allows it to cure status that easily wear down Quagsire. Other clerics such as Umbreon and Mew are also good options to pair with Quagsire. As Quagsire can be overwhelmed by strong physical wallbreakers while Spikes are in play, Pokemon that provide Defog support such as Mew and Salamence are highly recommend. Ditto can provide offensive support and deter setup sweepers like Haxorus and Crawdaunt that Quagsire can't deal with properly.
