Killintime
Time not so well spent
Quagsire
[QC 1/3]
[OVERVIEW]
* Quagsire only functions effectively on stall play styles.
* Quagsire is capable of stopping a variety of Physical sweepers thanks to its ability Unaware ignoring stat boosts.
* Quagsire has access to Curse allowing it to function as a stall win condition.
* Quagsire's bulk even when invested, is lacklustre both Physically and Specially; meaning it still loses to a lot of wall-breakers.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
* Curse allows Quagsire to beat physical Pokemon who may hit too hard in a 1v1 situation, preserve Recover PP, and act as a method to breaking opposing walls.
* Toxic is an option over Curse for status spread versus opposing teams.
* Scald over Waterfall allows Quagsire to punish careless switching with possible scald burns.
* Earthquake is great STAB and is boosted by Curse.
* Recover is mandatory in maintaining Quagsire's health.
Set Details
========
* Leftovers is passive recovery and Quagsire needs all it can get.
* Due to its lacklustre stats, we must dedicate all of its EV's into maximising its physical Defence; in order to check Physical sweepers.
* A Relaxed nature is used over Impish to preserve what little power Scald may carry.
* Unaware is used as this allows Quagsire to ignore the stat boosts of other Pokemon.
Usage Tips
========
* Quagsire is best used on stall in order to prevent common Physical sweepers such as Cobalion from getting out of control thanks to its ability Unaware negating stat boosts.
* Make sure to avoid being statused as a Burn or Toxic can give setup sweepers an opportunity to overpower Quagsire.
* Toxic damage gets stronger with every turn making it the preferred status to spread on Non-Physical Attackers.
* Curse should be used in match ups versus walls to force them out.
* Keeping it at maximum health versus teams with Physical setup sweepers is imperative as it barely checks most sweepers on switch in.
* Thanks to its ground typing it can function as a Volt Switch sponge in order to sap away momentum from Volt-Turn play-styles versus your stall.
Team Options
========
* Quagsire has little to no ability to check Special Attackers making Blissey an effective stall partner.
* Defensive grass types like Amoonguss or Celebi pair well with Quagsire to make up for the 4x weakness to grass.
* Having a cleric like Togekiss or Blissey is obligatory; a statused Quagsire, is a useless Quagsire due to setup sweepers being able to take advantage of a Burn or Toxic.
* Quagsire does not appreciate switching into hazards like Spikes or Toxic Spikes so hazard removers like Mandibuzz or Togekiss are great partners.

Other Options
=============
* With access to Encore Quagsire can attempt to lock certain setup sweepers or walls into a move that can offer your team some momentum.
* Haze is a utility option that can allow Quagsire to beat Calm Mind-Stored Power users.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-Types**: Quagsire can't do much to grass types besides toxic them and do minimal damage with Earthquake.
**Bulky-Waters**: Again with the lack of power all Quagsire can really do is Toxic them.
**Mold-Breaker**: Abilities like Mold Breaker allow Pokemon like Haxorus to ignore Quagsire's ability Unaware and make full use of their stat boosts.
**Mixed Sets**: Pokemon such as Infernape who are capable of attacking on both sides of the spectrum easily break through Quagsire's paper thin Special Defence.
**Strong Physical Attackers**: Pokemon with naturally high physical attack or have their attacks boosted by an item such as a Choice Band can pass through Quagsire's mediocre Physical Defence.
**Taunt or Toxic Users**: Taunt or Toxic users can cripple Quagsire's methods of healing eventually allowing them to get past it.
