[SET COMMENTS]
Quagsire is an essential defensive part of the SS Ubers metagame, as it is one of the few Pokemon that can check Zacian-C outside of sun. Quagsire fits best on balance teams looking to neutralize the threat of Zacian-C for the team to succeed defensively. The ability to Dynamax and increase its health allows for Quagsire to take on other physical threats in the metagame that normally threaten it. A Life Orb-boosted Close Combat from Marshadow and a Max Quake from Excadrill can threaten to 2HKO it, so Dynamaxing works to prevent certain threats from getting out of hand. Scald has great utility, pressuring physical attackers that can beat Quagsire such as Photon Geyser Necrozma-DM and Marshadow, as well as forcing residual damage on Flying-types such as Skarmory and Corviknight once they've been burned. Recover provides Quagsire with longevity, allowing it to switch in repeatedly on offensive threats and heal off any damage taken. Earthquake is a strong STAB move, pressuring Zacian-C, Zekrom, and Flying-types forced to Roost from Scald damage. Curse and Toxic are both strong utility options in the last moveslot. Curse allows Quagsire to set up alongside threats like Zekrom and hit many Pokemon hard with Max Quake, while Toxic allows Quagsire to chip walls such as Mandibuzz and opposing Quagsire.
Quagsire is very restricted in terms of its item choice due to Toxic Spikes and Spikes being strong utility moves against it if it carries Shed Shell and Gothitelle being deadly if it uses Heavy-Duty Boots to prevent entry hazard damage. It needs a partner that can remove entry hazards if it is using Shed Shell and good possible backup methods of trying to neutralize Zacian-C if it uses Heavy-Duty Boots. Corviknight and Mandibuzz can both remove entry hazard with Defog while being able to take on Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM—one of the few physical setup sweepers that can beat Quagsire, with Photon Geyser ignoring Unaware. Pokemon such as Dragapult appreciate Toxic variants of Quagsire being able to wear down walls such as Mandibuzz and opposing Quagsire, while partners like Dracovish want Quagsire to have Curse to take on faster boosting threats such as Zekrom for it to get repeated opportunities to switch in on slow defensive Pokemon. A good switch-in to special attacks is also needed, as Quagsire has a very poor Special Defense stat. Therefore, Blissey can help Quagsire with the defensive core, as it can safely switch into the likes of Gigantamax Charizard, Lunala, Eternatus, and Volcarona.
