[OVERVIEW]
Qwilfish makes for a solid Spikes user in PU. Its high Speed tier differentiates itself from other Spikes users like Ferroseed and Alolan Sandslash, making it a good fit on more offensive teams. It is a decent switch-in to Fighting-types such as Hitmontop and works against Swords Dance Silvally formes in a pinch as well. Also, it is one of the few Toxic Spikes absorbers available. Qwilfish frequently gets opportunities to set Spikes against defensive Pokemon such as Audino and Aromatisse that cannot threaten it. However, Qwilfish is checked by common special attackers like Galarian Articuno and Charizard. Qwilfish also struggles against common entry hazard removers such as Tsareena due to being worn down too fast.

[SET COMMENTS]
Taunt puts a stop to passive Pokemon like Ferroseed and Weezing. Waterfall prevents Qwilfish from being too passive and checks defensive Charizard and Centiskorch. Thunder Wave cripples Pokemon that fail to OHKO Qwilfish like Silvally formes and can also be useful against setup sweepers such as Scyther. Poison Jab is another option that lets Qwilfish immediately threaten Whimsicott and Tsareena. Destiny Bond is handy to grab momentum on more offensive teams, as it can remove some slower wallbreakers like Trevenant. Toxic Spikes can also be used with Substitute users like Silvally-Ghost and Frosmoth. Intimidate helps against Tsareena and Silvally formes but can be a liability against Galarian Articuno, making Poison Point a fair option. Poison Point combined with Rocky Helmet can also be rather annoying for Pokemon such as Scyther. Qwilfish pairs nicely with Ghost-types like Silvally-Ghost and Cofagrigus because they spinblock, and in return they appreciate Spikes positioning them for a sweep. Rapid Spin users like Coalossal and Alolan Sandslash synergize well with Qwilfish to keep Qwilfish's entry hazards up. Alolan Sandslash stands out as a spinner because it can also act as a sweeper, and its typing complements Qwilfish well through having a Psychic resistance. Charizard appreciates both Spikes and Thunder Wave support and checks Pokemon like Tsareena for Qwilfish in return. Pokemon like Quiver Dance Ribombee and Swords Dance Silvally-Ghost value Qwilfish's Spikes to sweep more easily.

[OVERVIEW]
With its solid defensive typing, Qwilfish is able to provide defensive utility while providing Spikes. It is a solid switch-in to Pokemon such as Passimian, Hitmontop, and Whimsicott (it's not really a Whimsicott switch-in because Specs sets can 2HKO after Rocks with Moonblast, Defog sets take out a chunk if running Grass STAB, and SubSeed sets win even if Qwilfish is PJab. I think you're better off focusing on it as a Fighting resist here since most other hazards setters aren't). Qwilfish frequently gets opportunities to set up Spikes against Pokemon like Audino and Aromatisse that cannot threaten it too. Its natural speed tier ensures Qwilfish can get up Spikes or at least cripple with Thunder Wave. Its speed tier also differentiates itself from other Spikes users like Ferroseed and Alolan Sandslash, making it a good fit on more offensive teams. Though, Qwilfish can still be checked by common Pokemon like Galarian Articuno and Charizard making it somewhat difficult to get in. Qwilfish is prone to being worn down, failing to consistently answer some hazard removers such as Tsareena too.

Qwilfish does a good job of keeping up its own Spikes with Taunt, outpacing Defensive Silvally formes (saying it outpaces defensive Silvally formes feels unnecessary, there's little stopping them from just creeping Qwilfish since most of them are already running speed for Magmortar, a more general of stopping Defog feels more appropriate imo). Taunt also puts a stop to other passive Pokemon like Ferroseed and Weezing from making progress. Waterfall prevents Qwilfish from being too passive itself and is able to check Defensive Charizard as well as Centiscorch. Thunder Wave cripples Pokemon that fail to OHKO Qwilfish like Archeops, and can also be useful against setup sweepers such as Nasty Plot Mesprit. Poison Jab is another option that lets Qwilfish immediately threaten Whimsicott and Tsareena, in addition to stopping RIbombee from setting up Quiver Dance (PJab doesn't really change the Ribombee MU, Psychic sets still win and Roost sets get paralyzed + forced to spam Roost due to Waterfall damage, even if it gets to +2, it doesn't feel like an important mention to me). Destiny Bond is handy to grab momentum on more offensive teams. Poison Point combined with Rocky Helmet can be rather annoying for Pokemon such as Passimian. Poison Point is also not a liability against Passimian's Defiant and Articuno-Galar's Competitive like Intimidate. Intimidate itself eases matchups against Tsareena and Silvally (these last two sentences read oddly to me, imo you can merge them and slap on the second sentence right after "Intimidate"). Qwilfish pairs nicely with Ghost-types like Silvally-Ghost and Cofagrius as spin blockers, and these two Pokemon also appreciate Spikes positioning them for a sweep. Rapid Spin users like Tsareena and Coalossal can synergize well with Qwilfish too. Alolan Sandslash stands out as a sweeper that can also provide Rapid Spin support in addition to its typing. Charizard appreciates the Thunder Wave support and can check Pokemon like Tsareena for Qwilfish as well.

AM check, comments in bold

[OVERVIEW]
With its solid defensive typing, Qwilfish is able to provide defensive repetitive utility also "provide defensive utility" is too vague to mean anything. there are a lot of possible ways to rewrite this, i would just encourage more tangible praise while providing Spikes. I think you're better off focusing on it as a Fighting resist here since most other hazards setters aren't). agreed, it's not a whims switch. tbh it doesn't long-term beat much it's just good at spiking. but i suppose fairy/steelvally could get a mention here if u want more than fighting types Qwilfish frequently gets opportunities to set up Spikes against defensive? feels like it should say defensive here Pokemon like Audino and Aromatisse that cannot threaten it too. Its natural speed tier ensures Qwilfish can get up Spikes or at least cripple with Thunder Wave unsure what this sentence means. yes, it has a good speed tier, but this reads very odd and like, you mention its speed in the next sentence anyway. Qwilfish is prone to being worn down, failing to consistently answer some hazard removers such as Tsareena too. grammar in these last two sentences is not great

Qwilfish does a good job of keeping up its own Spikes with Taunt, outpacing Defensive Silvally formes (saying it outpaces defensive Silvally formes feels unnecessary, there's little stopping them from just creeping Qwilfish since most of them are already running speed for Magmortar, a more general of stopping Defog feels more appropriate imo) disagree since they dont creep qwilfish for a reason so why pretend like they suddenly will. however they're not super common and i dont really know why they need a mention here. qwil doesn't taunt most defoggers, they're a rare exception not the rule. Taunt also puts a stop to other passive Pokemon like Ferroseed and Weezing from making progress. Waterfall prevents Qwilfish from being too passive itself and is able to check Defensive Charizard as well as Centiscorch. Thunder Wave cripples Pokemon that fail to OHKO Qwilfish like Archeops archs KOs qwil after rocks if ur poison point, steel/fairyvally are easily the most relevant targets here since you're praying on scald to actually check them otherwise, and can also be useful against setup sweepers such as Nasty Plot Mesprit mes isn't a sweeper it's a breaker. Poison Jab is another option that lets Qwilfish immediately threaten Whimsicott and Tsareena, in addition to stopping RIbombee from setting up Quiver Dance (PJab doesn't really change the Ribombee MU, Psychic sets still win and Roost sets get paralyzed + forced to spam Roost due to Waterfall damage, even if it gets to +2, it doesn't feel like an important mention to me) disagreed, pjab is relevant, although there was no need to list ribombee in the first place since you have two good examples. Intimidate itself eases matchups against Tsareena and Silvally (these last two sentences read oddly to me, imo you can merge them and slap on the second sentence right after "Intimidate") strongly agreed, this is unnecessarily drawn out. Charizard appreciates the Thunder Wave support and can check Pokemon like Tsareena for Qwilfish as well. charizard also abuses spikes well by forcing gigalith in on them. don't have to mention that but some brief mention of things that like spikes should be pretty obligatory

avarice this does not feel representative of your usual writing, particularly grammatically. Gonna need to hold off on stamping until you implement the check and I can go over it again.

Thunder Wave cripples Pokemon that fail to OHKO Qwilfish like Silvally formes, and can also be useful against setup sweepers such as Scyther first of all vallies are setup sweepers. second of all i think the more salient point is that qwil is too weak to beat things it might in theory check like the aforementioned mons bc waterfall does not do damage. this is how u generate any kind of threat vs offensive setup sweepers. Poison Jab is another option that lets Qwilfish immediately threaten Whimsicott and Tsareena. Destiny Bond is handy to grab momentum on more offensive teams. Poison Point combined with Rocky Helmet can be rather annoying for Pokemon such as Passimian. While Intimidate can help against Tsareena and Silvally formes, it is a liability against Passimian and Galarian Articuno making Poison Point optimal. thanks for cleaning this up, 1/2

It's worth alluding briefly to the overview that Qwilfish is one of the only Tspikes absorber that is practical to use and fit on teams with, (the other being Sivally-Poison and Neutralising Gas Weezing) given Weezing's prevalence and its niche as a threat with it.

More elaboration on Destiny Bond's niche would help. One other important feature is that it punishes slower wallbreakers that can kill you (Drampa, Trevenant, Magneton).

I like the ideas brought up for sweepers that appreciate Spikes. I'd also suggest offensive Pokemon with momentum (Archeops, Passimian, Galvantula, Articuno-G), as they have plenty of grounded answers that take Spikes damage while allowing your team to keep up with its momentum.

Is it feasible to mention a defensive alternative? 244 HP / 140 Def / 124 Spe Impish is a solid concept (Outspeeds +Speed Aurorus/Scrafty, avoid CB non-EQ Passimian 2HKO w/ Poison Point, avoids 2HKO from Jolly Tsareena w/ rocks up if Intimidate, always survives a +2 boosted Silvally STAB that hits neutrally [Ghost, Dark, etc.]) that can make better use of Pain Split to ensure longevity against the stuff it can answer. I also like Toxic Spikes being brought up somewhere especially if used on a stall build, although it is admittedly hard pressed to consider it in any other context.

Rapid Spin users like Tsareena and Coalossal can synergize well with Qwilfish too why? i would stick with a spin mention and go right into how slash's typing actually works well w/fish, or do coal+slash but tsar isnt like, notably good with qwilfish.
