ZU Raichu [QC 3/3] [GP 2/2] [done]

[OVERVIEW]
Raichu is one of the fastest effective wallbreakers in ZU, making it easy to fit onto teams that don't have switch-ins to Pokemon that slower wallbreakers might invite in. A potent Electric STAB type means that Raichu excels at pressuring the myriad of Water-types present in ZU, such as Silvally-Water, Swanna, and Mareanie, and it is complemented by strong coverage moves as well as the ability to boost its Special Attack with Nasty Plot to help set it apart from other Electric-types in ZU. Raichu's access to Focus Blast in particular is crucial for breaking through many prominent special checks, such as Lickilicky, Probopass, and Assault Vest Komala. However, Raichu is frail and usually only offers an Electric immunity to teams while burdening them by being OHKOed by nearly every physical attacker in ZU. Its base 90 Special Attack is unimpressive as well, often leaving Raichu short of achieving KOs, particularly without a Nasty Plot boost. Even Raichu's great Speed often isn't enough to let it succeed due to Floatzel's superior Speed and huge popularity in ZU. Fellow Electric-types Electivire and Zebstrika also give Raichu tough competition, the former of which has better bulk, type coverage, and power and the latter of which is faster than Floatzel. Raichu needs to stick to its strengths to be viable in ZU, but when it does, it is possibly the best Nasty Plot sweeper in the tier.

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Nasty Plot
move 2: Thunderbolt
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Hidden Power Ice
item: Fightinium Z / Life Orb
ability: Lightning Rod
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========
Focus Blast is used break through many Pokemon that can withstand Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Ice without too much difficulty. It can OHKO Abomasnow, Probopass, Shiftry, and offensive Golem with its Sturdy broken and 2HKO specially defensive Golem, as well as hitting ZU's many Normal-types super effectively, OHKOing or nearly OHKOing defensive ones such as Lickilicky, Assault Vest Komala, and Vigoroth after a Nasty Plot boost when boosted by Fightinium Z or Life Orb. The ability to break through bulky Normal-types after a Nasty Plot boost makes Raichu very difficult to wall. Hidden Power Ice lets Raichu take out Gabite after a Nasty Plot Boost while hitting various Grass- and Ground-types hard without risking missing Focus Blast. Altaria is also hit much harder by Hidden Power Ice than by Thunderbolt, and it is always OHKOed at +2 after Stealth Rock.

Set Details
==========
Maximum Speed and Special Attack investment with a Timid nature is necessary to outspeed Pokemon like Kadabra and Rapidash while hitting as hard as possible. Lightning Rod is the chosen ability to block Volt Switch and force Pokemon like Electivire and Probopass to predict correctly or risk giving Raichu a Special Attack boost. Fightinium Z is used over other Z-Crystals to give Raichu a 190-Base Power Fighting-type attack with perfect accuracy that can break through the many Normal-types in the tier, as well as taking out bulky Golem and offensive Komala without a boost. Life Orb is a good item choice if Raichu's team already has a Z-Crystal user, because Raichu needs to hit as hard as possible and will often fall to attacks with or without the recoil from Life Orb. Life Orb can let Raichu achieve some KOs it would otherwise miss or require All-Out Pummeling to accomplish, such as against Tangela, Gourgeist-XL, and physically bulky Golem after Stealth Rock with a +2 Hidden Power Ice. Physically bulky Golem only has a 6.3% change to be KOed by a +2 Hidden Power Ice without Life Orb, forcing Raichu to use its Z-Move or risk missing Focus Blast. However, the damage from Life Orb can rack up in combination with entry hazards or status damage to put Raichu in range of even very weak attacks such as Gourgeist's Foul Play and Golem's Sucker Punch. If using Life Orb, change Raichu's HP IVs to 29 to take less recoil.

Usage Tips
===========
Raichu can be used either as a battering ram to break a defensive core early- or mid-game or as a fast sweeper late-game. Try to put Raichu into situations where it will force switches, such as against slower Water- and Flying-types or against passive Pokemon that cannot significantly damage it, so that it can boost with Nasty Plot to break through the opposing team. Switching Raichu in directly will nearly always be hazardous, so when possible, bring Raichu in safely through pivoting moves such as U-turn and Parting Shot or send it in after a teammate has fainted. There may not be very many opportunities to set up with Raichu over the course of a battle, and against some offensive teams, there might not be any. If Raichu doesn't need to break through any walls on the opponent's team, it can still be very useful for its high Speed tier and decently powerful attacks.

This set is very effective versus stall and bulky teams because the only relevant Unaware user in ZU, Pyukumuku, is hit super effectively by Thunderbolt. Lickilicky, the most prominent special wall on stall teams, is always OHKOed by +2 All-Out Pummeling without concerns of missing. However, beware that Lickilicky can sometimes dodge the KO with Protect, as +2 Focus Blast does not always KO after a weakened All-Out Pummeling, and +2 Life Orb-boosted Focus Blast is not a guaranteed OHKO either. A small amount of chip damage on Lickilicky can greatly boost Life Orb Raichu's odds of breaking stall.

Choose All-Out Pummeling's target carefully, but be aware that missing Focus Blast against Komala, Abomasnow, or Golem will often mean the end of Raichu. A neutral All-Out Pummeling hits significantly harder than a neutral Thunderbolt or a super effective Hidden Power Ice, so using it on a target that is not weak to Fighting can sometimes be advantageous. For example, offensive Silvally-Fighting is never OHKOed by a +2 Thunderbolt without Life Orb but will always be KOed by a boosted All-Out Pummeling. Be aware that without Life Orb, boosted Thunderbolts are not that strong and fail to 2HKO some bulky Pokemon like Muk and Bronzor. While Raichu can block Volt Switch from Electivire, Zebstrika, and Probopass, switching into the wrong move from any of these Pokemon can be the last thing Raichu does in a battle.

Team Options
=============
Raichu appreciates Pokemon that can take physical hits, especially Ground-type attacks and Water-type attacks from Floatzel. Grass-types such as Gourgeist-XL, Tangela, Servine, and Leafeon resist both those types and can check Choice Scarf Electivire. Ground-immune Pokemon such as Altaria, Swanna, and Bronzor can also switch into Ground-type attacks for Raichu. Raichu also pairs well with other special sweepers that appreciate its ability to weaken or KO special walls, such as Chatot, Swanna, and Kadabra. Swanna and Chatot again cover Raichu's Ground weakness, while Raichu blocks Volt Switches aimed at them. Silvally formes, Probopass, Monferno, and Komala can all use pivoting moves to help circumvent Raichu's frailty and bring it in safely. Silvally-Water in particular can help check Floatzel and Golem while luring Electric attacks for Raichu to switch into. Powerful physical attackers such as Ramparados, Komala, and Alolan Dugtrio can take out special walls for Raichu, allowing it to sweep without needing to find an opportunity to set up a Nasty Plot boost. Memento, dual screens, and Parting Shot from Pokemon such as Misdreavus, Dugtrio, Meowstic, and Silvally can weaken incoming attacks to help Raichu set up.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Electrium Z can be used instead of Fightinium Z to give Raichu a stronger attack against Pokemon like Muk and Bronzor. The downside of this is that Raichu can no longer break through Lickilicky, Bouffalant, Electivire, or Golem as easily. Grass Knot, Volt Switch, Surf, Substitute, Encore, and Signal Beam can all be used over either Hidden Power Ice or Nasty Plot, but they generally offer inferior type coverage or mediocre and situational usefulness. Be aware that Surf is an event move that will lock Raichu into the Static ability and is illegal with Nasty Plot. Also be aware that Raichu lacking Nasty Plot is often outclassed by Zebstrika due to the latter's better speed and access to Overheat. Raichu can go physical or mixed with Volt Tackle and Extreme Speed, but physical sets are walled much more easily, face more competition from Electivire and Zebstrika, and are again made less appealing by the fact that Extreme Speed is an event move that locks Raichu into Static as an abilty. Choice Specs and Choice Scarf sets can be somewhat effective, but they are still usually outclassed by Zebstrika and Electivire.

Checks and Counters
=================

**Faster Pokemon**: Strong attackers that outpace Raichu can often KO it before it can retaliate. Floatzel, Purugly, and Ninjask do this without a Choice Scarf, while most Choice Scarf users can outpace and KO Raichu. Effective Choice Scarf users for this role include Electivire, Pinsir, Abomasnow, and Rapidash. Electivire can also take any one hit from an unboosted Raichu, including All-Out Pummeling.

**Assault Vest Users**: Raichu can be checked by Assault Vest users, though some are OHKOed by a boosted All-Out Pummeling. Kecleon can dodge All-Out Pummeling with Shadow Sneak and beat Raichu fairly reliably if it has Shadow Sneak and Sucker Punch to 2HKO Raichu after Stealth Rock. Assault Vest Komala and Bouffalant can check unboosted Raichu, but All-Out Pummeling will still do heavy damage. Komala in particular takes 67-80% from All-Out Pummeling, so it needs to be healthy to check Raichu.

**Specially Bulky Pokemon**: Curse Muk is not 2HKOed by +2 Thunderbolt unless Raichu has a Life Orb and can 2HKO back with Poison Jab, while Choice Band Muk is only OHKOed by a boosted Gigavolt Havoc and KOes back with Gunk Shot. Roselia is only 2HKOed by +2 Life Orb Hidden Power Ice and can damage Raichu heavily with Sludge Bomb or Giga Drain. Bronzor can take one boosted hit and cripple Raichu with Toxic. Dusclops is only 3HKOed by a boosted Thunderbolt and can hit back with Toxic or Night Shade. Cradily survives any hit except for a boosted All-Out Pummeling or Life Orb-boosted Focus Blast and can use Toxic or Rock Slide in return.

**Ground-types**: Silvally-Ground survives most boosted attacks from Raichu and can KO back with Multi-Attack. Golem can check Raichu if its Sturdy is intact. Specially defensive Camerupt can usually survive an All-Out Pummeling after Stealth Rock damage and Leftovers recovery and KO back with Earthquake or Earth Power.

**Priority**: While uncommon in ZU, attacks with boosted priority will heavily damage Raichu. Sucker Punch from Pawniard, Golem, Shiftry, and Kecleon and Mach Punch from Monferno can heavily damage Raichu due to its poor physical bulk.

This is just some advice, but while I do like creativity a Choice Band Raichu would at best appear as a brief mention in OO while also mentioning that it has to use Static to do so. With a Choice Band Raichu on a Jolly nature actually achieves the same attack stat as Light Ball Jolly Pikachu, which can still switch moves and is therefore less prediction reliant. In terms of speed it would compete with a Zebstrika, which outspeeds Floatzel naturally and can retain an immunity to Electric type attacks when going physical, and Choice Scarf Electivire. I don't know that Choice Band really has a niche to speak of, unfortunately.

Thanks Froasty, I kinda knew that the band set probably shouldn't have a set, but I wanted to write it up and see how it looked. It is funny how banded Raichu and Light Ball Pikachu both hit 418 attack (Physcial Raichu is still better than Pikachu though, not that that is saying much).

Hey, I'd just like to mention certain things I see off with the analysis right now so that you're not putting in unnecessary effort.

Set Details should be used to explain the choice of ability, item, nature, and EV spread; basically everything about the set except for the moves. It should not be used to explain what the set's role is; that should be done in Overview and Usage Tips.

Checks and Counters currently has the wrong format, it should be as follows:
**Faster Pokemon**: Strong attackers that outpace Raichu can often ko it before Raichu can retaliate. Floatzel and Kanto Dugtrio do this without a Choice Scarf, while Electivire, Pinsir, and Rapidash can outspeed and OHKO Raichu with a Choice Scarf. Electivire can also take any one hit from an unboosted Raichu, including All Out Pummeling.

For other references, feel free to check out some of the other analyses currently being written.

AM Check, so only implement what you believe is relevant.
[OVERVIEW]
============
  • Raichu is a fast and effective offensive Pokemon in the ZU metagame.
  • Raichu is only outsped by Floatzel, Zebstrika, Kanto Dugtrio, Electrode, and Choice Scarf Pokémon in ZU.
  • It has strong coverage moves to complement its electric STAB as well as the ability to boost its special attack with nasty plot, making walling Raichu difficult for most teams.
  • However, Raichu is frail and usually only offers an electric immunity to teams while burdening them by being OHKOed by nearly every physical attacker in ZU.

[SET]
===========

Raichu @ Life Orb/Fightinium Z
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Moves
========

  • Nasty plot makes Raichu extremely difficult to wall, especially in tandem with its Z-move.
  • Thunderbolt is a strong, reliable stab with good neutral and super effective coverage.
  • Focus Blast hits Golem, Abomasnow, Probopass, Dugtrio-Alola, and ZU’s many normal types super effectively. Give examples, Lickilicky, AV Komala, AV Kecleon and Vigoroth.
  • Hidden power ice hits grass, ground, and dragon types super effectively. Typical targets include Gourgiest, Tangela, Altaria, Gabite, Sandslash, and Fracture.

Set Details
==========
  • Maximum speed and special attack with a timid nature are necessary to outspeed Pokémon like Kadabra and Rapidash while hitting as hard as possible.
  • Life Orb is the primary item because Raichu needs to hit as hard as possible and usually will fall to attacks with or without the loss of hit points from Life Orb.
  • Fightinium-Z is used over other Z-crystals to give Raichu a 190 base power fighting type attack with perfect accuracy that can break through the many normal types in the tier.

Usage Tips
===========
  • Raichu can be used either as a battering ram to break a defensive core in the early to mid-game or as a fast sweeper in the late game.
  • If a Fightinium Z is used choose All Out Pummeling's target carefully, but be aware that missing Focus Blast will often mean the end of Raichu.
  • A neutral All Out Pummeling hits significantly harder than either a neutral thunderbolt or a super effective hidden power ice, so using it on a target that is not weak to fighting can sometimes be advantageous.
  • This set is very effective vs stall and bulky teams, because the only relevant unaware user in ZU, Pyukumuku, is hit super effectively by thunderbolt and the most prominent special wall on stall teams, Lickilicky, is OHKOed by a +2 All Out Pummeling or by a +2 Life Orb Focus Blast after Stealth Rock.

Team Options
=============
  • Raichu appreciates Pokémon that can take physical hits, especially ground type attacks and water type attacks from Floatzel. Gourgiest-XL, Tangela, and Bronzor can all switch into attacks that would otherwise KO Raichu. I believe you meant Gourgeist XL since L isn't relevant anymore.
  • Raichu also pairs well with other special sweepers that appreciate Raichu's ability to weaken or KO special walls, such as Chatot, Swanna, and Kadabra. Swanna and Chatot also cover Raichu's ground weakness while Raichu blocks volt switches aimed at the flying types.
  • Powerful physical attackers such as Ramparados, Komala, and Dugtrio-Alola can take out special walls for Raichu.
  • Memento from Misdreavus, Pyukumuku or Jumpluff and screen from Meowstick allows Raichu to find more opportunities to set up.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Electrium-Z can be used instead of Fightinium-Z to give Raichu a stronger attack against Pokémon like Muk and Bronzor. The downside of this is that Raichu can no longer break through Lickilicky, Bouffalant, Electivire, or Golem as easily. Losing Fightinium-Z also takes away Raichu's ability to use a perfectly accurate fighting type attack.
  • Grass Knot, Volt Switch, Surf, Substitute, Encore, and Signal Beam can all be used over either Hidden Power [Ice] or Nasty Plot, but generally offer inferior type coverage or mediocre and situational usefulness. Mention that none Nasty Plot set are generally outclassed by Zebstrika due its higher speed and access to Overheat.
  • Raichu can go physical or mixed with Volt Tackle and Extreme Speed, but physical sets are walled much more easily and face competition from Electivire and Zebstrika. Physical sets are also locked into Static as an ability because Volt Tackle and Extreme Speed are event moves.
  • Mention Choice Specs

Checks and Counters
=================

**Faster Pokémon**: Strong attackers that outpace Raichu can often ko it before Raichu can retaliate.

**Assault Vest Users**: Raichu can also be checked by assault vest users, though some are OHKOed by a boosted All Out Pummeling. Muk can live a boosted hit and KO back with gunk shot. Kecleon can dodge All Out Pummeling with shadow sneak, and can beat Raichu fairly reliably if it has shadow sneak and sucker punch of 2HKO Raichu with after Stealth Rock. Oranguru can take any boosted hit, but won't ko back.

**Specially Bulky Pokémon**: Curse Muk is only 2HKOed by a +2 Life Orb Thunderbolt and 2HKO back with poison jab while Choice Band Muk is only OHKOed by a boosted Gigavolt Havoc and KOes back with gunk shot. Bronzor can live one boosted hit and toxic back. Dusclops is only 3HKOed by a boosted thunderbolt and can Toxic or Night Shade back. Mention Roselia, which resists Fighting and Electric while also avoiding the 2HKO from none LO HP Ice at +2, being able to 2HKO Raichu after SR with Sludge Bomb and having reliable recovery. Also mention AV Kecleon which can take a +2 Thunderbolt and thanks to Protean Shadow Sneak is immune to Focus Blast. Also Shadow Sneak/Fake Out + Sucker Punch always kills Raichu.

**Camerupt**: Specially Defensive Camerupt can usually survive an All Out Pummeling after stealth rocks and leftovers recovery and KO back with Earthquake. I believe you can fuse this section with Specially Bulky Pokémon.

Priority maybe? None can OHKO Raichu but most of them 2HKO Raichu or OHKO it after chip damages.

Overview
  • Remove the line of '='s, if you have them there you will break the dex.
  • This overview is very barebones, there's a lot more you can say. Raichu's role of fast breaker needs to be mentioned in the first line, for example.
  • Mention that Raichu faces immense competition from better Electric-types like especially Electivire, which also has excellent coverage, and mention what Raichu offers over it (Speed and Nasty Plot).
  • Mention that it's slower than Floatzel, which means it's easily revenge killed. The rest of the list can be removed, replace it with a simple point that its high Speed lets it outspeed a large portion of the meta (also letting you know you forgot Ninjask).
Set
  • The formatting is wrong, it should be as follows:
[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Nasty Plot
move 2: Thunderbolt
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Hidden Power Ice
item: Fightinium Z / Life Orb
ability: Lightning Rod
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
  • As you can see, I reversed the order of the item slashes. Fightinium Z allows Raichu to break through so many things it really wants to break through and much more reliably than without it AND doesn't put Raichu in range of priority moves, so it's better than LO.
Moves
  • You don't have to mention TBolt as the reason for using it is obvious. Nasty Plot is more arguable but doesn't have to be mentioned either.
  • Just giving a list of Pokemon that Focus Blast hits isn't that interesting. I'd prefer if you specifically stated how much damage it does to each of those (OHKO? 2HKO?). You can also cut down on the amount of things you mention, putting it at just Golem, Probopass, Licklicky, and Assault Vest Komala.
  • Mention All-Out Pummeling here and explain what important calcs it hits (the guaranteed OHKOes on Lickilicky and AV Komala at +2 are the most important.
  • How much does HP Ice do to its targets? Does specially defensive Altaria die? Does spdef Tang? Mentioning Sandslash and Fraxure isn't needed, they're not super relevant.

Alright, I'm gonna stop here for now. Looking at my QC check so far, it's just about as long as the portion of the analysis I have checked and that's not a good sign. I wanna go ahead and recommend you take a look at a few other analyses that have been written for ZU, especially those that have received QC checks, and try to fix this one up. As it stands, the information I see is very barebones and doesn't actually tell me anything I wouldn't know by knowing the type chart and looking up Raichu's stats. Try to get some more in here and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me via PMs here on on discord and I'll help you out, but as of right now, I'm going to QC Reject 1/3 this, sorry.

Excellent improvements, this is looking much better!

Overview
  • Your third line should be moved to the top as it explains Raichu's role.
  • Mention that Raichu's SpA isn't great when unboosted, leaving it to sometimes suffer to break things it would like to.
Set
  • evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe. Capitalizing the A and D and putting spaces around the slashes is important for the dex itself.
Moves
good

Set Details
  • Don't bother mentioning Static, it's real bad.
Usage Tips
  • Mention bringing in Raichu safely by sacrificing a teammate or with U-turn/VSwitch/Parting Shot. It's too frail to switch in otherwise.
Team Options
  • I don't agree with mentioning Bellossom specifically. I'd rather just go with a section about Grass-types in general, and maybe mention Bellossom as an example, although Sawsbuck, Leafeon, and Servine are generally better.
  • Mention U-turn and PShot users.
Other Options
  • Mention that Surf is also incompatible with Lightning Rod.
Checks and Counters
  • Instead of mentioning a few specific Scarfers, mention Scarfers in general and then give them as examples.
  • Muk and Oranguru aren't the best examples of AV users. Kecleon should be the first example, with Komala and Bouffalant being mentioned next, though it should be specified that they fear Fight Z.
  • Don't bother mentioning Stunfisk, it's really not good. Also, Silvally-Ground does not get Earth Power and it currently looks like you're saying it does.

I am seriously impressed with how much you improved this, well done. QC 1/3

not qc but i just noticed this:
[OVERVIEW]
  • Raichu can go physical or mixed with Volt Tackle and Extreme Speed, but physical sets are walled much more easily and face competition from Electivire and Zebstrika. Physical sets are also locked into Static as an ability because Volt Tackle and Extreme Speed are event moves.
Volt Tackle is not an event move. It was never purely an event move, since it's been an Egg Move for Pichu ever since Gen 3. In addition, ever since Sun and Moon, Pikachu has been able to learn Volt Tackle via a special move tutor. The reason Raichu is locked into Static on physical sets is purely because Extreme Speed is an event move.

wow this went from 0-100 real quick

  • In team options, mention Flying-types that carry that useful Ground immunity (Altaria, Swanna, Chatot come to mind). Ground resists like Tangela or Leafeon could be worthwhile to talk about as well especially since they handle Golem better.
  • Cradily is a notable specially bulky Electric-resist in Checks and Counters, however it has to worry about a boosted All Out Pummeling (It even lives a +2 Focus Blast if no life orb)

This is really such a major improvement. Nice job.

QC 2/3

Implemented all changes from first two QCs. Sorry about analysis being a bit sketchy at first, but glad to see its better received now.

Still a bit unfamiliar with process, do I put this in paragraph form now that it has QC 2/3?

[OVERVIEW]
Raichu is one of the fastest effective stall breakers in ZU (Raichu is a wallbreaker, not a stallbreaker.), making it easy to fit onto teams that cannot afford to switch into Pokémon that slower stall wall breakers might invite in. Raichu possesses a potent electric STAB that excels at pressuring the myriad of water types present in ZU, such as Silvally Water, Swanna, and Mareanie. It has strong coverage moves to complement that electric STAB as well as the ability to boost its special attack with Nasty Plot, making walling Raichu difficult for most teams. (Also mention that NP is what really differentiates it from other electric types.) Focus Blast in particular is crucial for breaking through many prominent special checks, such as Lickilicky, Probopass, and Assault Vest Komala. However, Raichu is frail and usually only offers an electric immunity to teams while burdening them by being OHKOed by nearly every physical attacker in ZU. Raichu's 90 base special attack is unimpressive, often leaving Raichu short of achieving KOs, particularly without a Nasty Plot boost. Even Raichu's great speed often isn't enough to let Raichu succeed due to Floatzel's superior speed and huge popularity in ZU. Fellow electric types Electivire and Zebstrika also give Raichu tough competiotion, the former of which has better bulk, type coverage and power, and the latter of which is faster than Floatzel. Raichu needs to stick to its strengths to be viable in ZU, but when it does, Raichu is possibly the best Nasty Plot sweeper in the tier.

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========
Nasty plot makes Raichu extremely difficult to wall, especially in tandem with its Z-move. (This should be talked about in combination with the attacking moves to explain what they do both before and after a boost, rather than given its own focus.) Raichu is fastest user of Nasty Plot in ZU barring the very weak Persian, and Nasty Plot helps to differentiate from other Electric Types and fast attackers in ZU. (Just add in that NP is what differentiates Raichu from other Electric types in the overview and remove this altogether, since this is rather out of place in an explanation of why Raichu would use Nasty Plot and is better information for the overview.) Focus Blast is useful to OHKO Abomasnow, Probopass, Dugtrio-Alola, and Offensive Golem with its sturdy broken and to 2HKO Specially defensive Golem. Focus Blast also hits ZU’s many normal types super effectively, generally OHKOing or nearly OHKOing offensive normal types such as Choice Band Komala and Sawsbuck without a boost while OHKOing defensive normal types such as Lickilicky, Assault Vest Komala, and Vigoroth at +2 when used as All Out Pummeling or with a Life Orb. (This part about Focus Blast has the right examples, but kind of misses the primary point of using it, which is to get past things that either resist, are immune to or are just too bulky for Thunderbolt when Hidden Power [Ice] can't get past them either. I'd be cautious of using Dugtrio-Alola as an example as well, since it's not safe for Raichu to take on anyway because of the speed tie, and Sawsbuck isn't really important to mention when you have that many other examples that are higher in viability.) Altaria takes between slightly less than half to upwards of 80% from an unboosted Hidden Power [Ice] depending on its EVs and Raichu's item. Gabite is OHKOed around 40% of the time after stealth rock with a Life Orb, and is easily 2HKOed otherwise. Physically defensive Tangela and Gourgiest-XL are both OHKOed by a +2 Life Orb Hidden Power [Ice] after stealth rock while specially defensive variants are easily 2HKOed. (Cut any calcs that don't apply to both items out of this section and instead talk about them in set details, since it helps to give you an explanation for the item choices. I'd remove the bit about specially defensive variants, since it only applies in some cases for Tangela, which is rarely used specially defensive, and specially defensive Gourgeist-Super isn't really a set.)

Set Details
==========
Maximum speed and special attack with a timid nature are necessary to outspeed Pokémon like Kadabra and Rapidash while hitting as hard as possible. (You don't need to talk about the spread since it's a plain 252/252.) Lightning Rod is the chosen ability to block Volt Switches and force pokemon like Electivire and Probopass to predict correctly or risk giving Raichu a special attack boost. Fightinium Z is used over other Z-Crystals to give Raichu a 190 base power fighting type attack with perfect accuracy that can break through the many normal types in the tier. Fightinium Z also allows Raichu to take out bulky Golem and offensive Bouffalant without a boost. (Offensive Bouffalant isn't really important to mention, since it's generally outclassed by Komala.) Life Orb is a good item choice if Raichu's team already has a Z-Crystal because Raichu needs to hit as hard as possible and will often fall to attacks with or without the loss of hit points from Life Orb. However, the damage from Life Orb can rack up in combination with entry hazards or status damage to put Raichu in range of even very weak attacks such as Gourgiest's Foul Play or Golem's Sucker Punch. (It's also worth noting that a +2 Hidden Power [Ice] without Life Orb has only a 6.3% chance of OHKOing bulky Golem after Stealth Rock damage, so Life Orb gives up the consistency of All Out Pummeling in order to make Thunderbolt and Hidden Power [Ice] more consistent. Also, you should specify that a Life Orb set should use 29 HP IVs in order to reduce Life Orb recoil, but don't put it on the export.)

Usage Tips
===========
Raichu can be used either as a battering ram to break a defensive core in the early to mid-game or as a fast sweeper in the late game. Try to put Raichu into situations where it will force switches such as against slower water and flying types or against passive pokemon that cannot significantly damage it so that it can boost with Nasty Plot to break through the opposing team. Switching Raichu in directly will nearly always be hazardous, so when possible bring Raichu in safely through pivoting moves such as U-turn and Parting Shot or send it in after a teammate has fainted. There may not be very many opportunities to set up with Raichu over the course of a battle, and against some offensive teams there might not be any. If Raichu doesn't need to break through any walls on the opponent's team, Raichu can still be very useful for its high speed tier and decently powerful attacks.

This set is very effective vs stall and bulky teams, because the only relevant unaware user in ZU, Pyukumuku, is hit super effectively by thunderbolt and the most prominent special wall on stall teams, Lickilicky, is OHKOed by a +2 All Out Pummeling or a +2 Life Orb Focus Blast after Stealth Rock. A +2 Life Orb Focus Blast does 93-109% to Lickilicky, which is important to be aware of if facing a stall team. A small amount of chip damage on Lickilicky can greatly boost Raichu's odds or breaking stall. +2 All Out Pummeling always OHKOes Lickilicky without concerns of missing, but Lickilicky can sometimes dodge the KO with protect as +2 Focus Blast does not always KO after a weakened All Out Pummeling through Protect. (You mention the calcs for both items against Lickilicky twice in this paragraph. It would probably be best to remove the part about Lickilicky from the first sentence and instead focus on explaining the specifics of fighting Lickilicky with each item individually.)

Choose All Out Pummeling's target carefully, but be aware that missing Focus Blast against Komala, Abomasnow, or Golem will often mean the end of Raichu. A neutral All Out Pummeling hits significantly harder than either a neutral thunderbolt or a super effective hidden power ice, so using it on a target that is not weak to fighting can sometimes be advantageous. For example, Tangela is never OHKOed by a +2 Hidden Power [Ice] without a Life Orb, but even specially defensive Tangela usually faint to an All Out Pummeling after Stealth Rock. (+2 252 SpA Raichu All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Tangela: 258-304 (77.2 - 91%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock) Be aware that without a Life Orb, even boosted Thunderbolts are not that strong and fail to 2HKO some bulky Pokémon like Muk and Bronzor. Raichu can block Volt Switches from Electivire, Zebstrika, and Probopass, but switching into the wrong move from any of these Pokémon can be the last thing Raichu does in that battle.

Team Options
=============
Raichu appreciates Pokémon that can take physical hits, especially ground type attacks and water type attacks from Floatzel. Grass types such as Gourgiest-XL, Tangela, Servine, and Leafeon resist water and ground for Raichu. Flying types such as Altaria and Swanna as well as Bronzor can also switch into Ground type attacks for Raichu. (This sentence should be corrected to specify Pokemon immune to Ground type attacks, since Bronzor isn't a Flying type.) Tangela, Gourgiest-XL and Bronzor are all especially effective at checking the near omnipresent Golem. (Calling Golem omnipresent misrepresents how common it is in ZU.) Raichu also pairs well with other special sweepers that appreciate Raichu's ability to weaken or KO special walls, such as Chatot, Swanna, and Kadabra. Swanna and Chatot again cover Raichu's ground weakness while Raichu blocks volt switches aimed at the flying types. Silvally forms, Probopass, Monferno, and Komala can all use pivoting moves to help circumvent Raichu's frailty and bring Raichu in safely. Powerful physical attackers such as Ramparados, Komala, and Dugtrio-Alola can take out special walls for Raichu, allowing it to sweep without needing to find an opportunity to set up a Nasty Plot boost. Memento, dual screens, and Parting Shot from Pokémon such as Misdreavus, Dugtrio, Meowstic, and Silvally can weaken incoming attacks to help Raichu set up. (Silvally-Water in particular should be mentioned somewhere because of its ability to check Floatzel, offensively check Golem, draw Electric type attacks for Raichu to switch into and pivot to get Raichu in safely. Beating popular Choice Scarf users, especially Electivire, should also be given some focus in this section.)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Electrium Z can be used instead of Fightinium Z to give Raichu a stronger attack against Pokémon like Muk and Bronzor. The downside of this is that Raichu can no longer break through Lickilicky, Bouffalant, Electivire, or Golem as easily. Losing Fightinium Z also takes away Raichu's ability to use a perfectly accurate fighting type attack. (This sentence about All Out Pummeling not missing can go, since it really doesn't need to be said.) Grass Knot, Volt Switch, Surf, Substitute, Encore, and Signal Beam can all be used over either Hidden Power [Ice] or Nasty Plot, but generally offer inferior type coverage or mediocre and situational usefulness. Be aware the Surf is an event move that will lock Raichu into the Static ability. Also be aware that Raichu lacking nasty plot is often outclassed by Zebstrika due to Zebstrika's better speed and access to Overheat. Raichu can go physical or mixed with Volt Tackle and Extreme Speed, but physical sets are walled much more easily and face more competition from Electivire and Zebstrika. Physical sets are again made less appealing by the fact that Extreme Speed is an event move that locks Raichu into Static as an abilty. Choice Specs or Choice Scarf sets can be somewhat effective, but are still usually outclassed by Zebstrika and Electivire.

Checks and Counters
=================

**Faster Pokémon**: Strong attackers that outpace Raichu can often ko it before Raichu can retaliate. Floatzel, Purugly and Ninjask do this without a Choice Scarf, while most Choice Scarf users can outpace and KO raichu. Effective Choice Scarfer users for this role include Electivire, Pinsir, Abomasnow, and Rapidash. Electivire can also take any one hit from an unboosted Raichu, including All Out Pummeling.

**Assault Vest Users**: Raichu can also be checked by assault vest users, though some are OHKOed by a boosted All Out Pummeling. Kecleon can dodge All Out Pummeling with shadow sneak, and can beat Raichu fairly reliably if it has shadow sneak and sucker punch of 2HKO Raichu with after Stealth Rock. Assault Vest Komala and Bouffalant can check Raichu without a Nasty Plot boost, but All Out Pummeling will still do heavy damage. Komala in particular takes 67-80% from All Out Pummeling, so it needs to be healthy to check Raichu.

**Specially Bulky Pokémon**: Curse Muk is not 2HKOed by a +2 Thunderbolt unless Raichu has a Life Orb and 2HKO back with poison jab while Choice Band Muk is only OHKOed by a boosted Gigavolt Havoc and KOes back with gunk shot. Roselia is only 2HKOed by a +2 Life Orb Hidden Power [Ice] and can damage Raichu heavily with Sludge Bomb or Giga Drain. Bronzor can live one boosted hit and Toxic back. Dusclops is only 3HKOed by boosted Thunderbolts and can Toxic or Night Shade back. Cradily survives any hit except for a boosted All Out Pummeling or Life Orb Focus Blast and can Toxic or Rock Slide in return.

**Ground Types**: Silvally-Ground survives most boosted attacks from Raichu and can KO back with Multiattack. Golem can check Raichu if its sturdy is intact. Specially Defensive Camerupt can usually survive an All Out Pummeling after stealth rocks and leftovers recovery and KO back with Earthquake or Earth Power.

**Priority**: While uncommon in ZU, attacks with boosted priority will heavily damage Raichu. Sucker Punch from Pawniard, Golem, Shiftry and Kecleon or Mach Punch from Monferno can heavily damage Raichu due to its poor physical defense.

Pretty good overall, good job.

Implemented changes. I swapped out the tangela example for silvally fighting, both because it's more common and because I forgot to change tangela's nature to calm when checking the +2 hp ice calc.
+2 252 SpA Raichu Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Silvally-Fighting: 238-282 (71.9 - 85.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252 SpA Raichu All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Silvally-Fighting: 336-396 (101.5 - 119.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Raichu's 90 Its base 90 Special Attack is unimpressive as well, often leaving Raichu short of achieving KOs, particularly without a Nasty Plot boost. Even Raichu's great Speed often isn't enough to let Raichu it succeed due to Floatzel's superior Speed and huge popularity in ZU. Fellow Electric-types (AH) Electivire and Zebstrika also give Raichu tough competiotion, the former of which has better bulk, type coverage and power, and the latter of which is faster than Floatzel. Raichu needs to stick to its strengths to be viable in ZU, but when it does, Raichu it is possibly the best Nasty Plot sweeper in the tier.

Focus Blast is used break through many Pokemon that can withstand Thunderbolt or Hidden Power [Ice] Ice without too much difficulty. It can OHKO Abomasnow, Probopass, Shiftry, and offensive Golem with its Sturdy broken and 2HKO specially defensive Golem, (comma) Focus Blast also hits ZU’s as well as hit ZU's many Normal-types (AH) super effectively, OHKOing or nearly OHKOing defensive normal types ones such as Lickilicky, Assault Vest Komala, and Vigoroth at after a Nasty Plot boost when used as All Out Pummeling or with a boosted by Fightinium Z or Life Orb. The ability to break through bulky Normal-types (AH) after a Nasty Plot boost makes Raichu very difficult to wall. Hidden Power [Ice] Ice lets Raichu take out Gabite after a Nasty Plot Boost while hitting various Grass- (AH) and Ground-types (AH) hard without risking missing Focus Blast. Altaria is also hit much harder by Hidden Power [Ice] Ice than by Thunderbolt, and it is always OHKOed at +2 after Stealth Rock.

Maximum Speed and Special Attack investment with a Timid nature are is necessary to outspeed Pokémon Pokemon like Kadabra and Rapidash while hitting as hard as possible. Lightning Rod is the chosen ability to block Volt Switches and force Pokemon like Electivire and Probopass to predict correctly or risk giving Raichu a Special Attack boost. Fightinium Z is used over other Z-Crystals to give Raichu a 190-Base (AH) Power Fighting-type (AH) attack with perfect accuracy that can break through the many Normal-types (AH) in the tier, (comma) Fightinium Z also allows Raichu to as well as take out bulky Golem and offensive Komala without a boost. Life Orb is a good item choice if Raichu's team already has a Z-Crystal user, (AC) because Raichu needs to hit as hard as possible and will often fall to attacks with or without the loss of hit points recoil from Life Orb. Life Orb can let Raichu achieve some KOes KOs it would otherwise miss or require All-Out (AH) Pummeling to accomplish, such as against Tangela, Gourgiest-XL, Gourgeist-XL, and physically bulky Golem after Stealth Rock with a +2 Hidden Power [Ice] Ice. Physically bulky Golem only has a 6.3% change to be KOed by a +2 Hidden Power [Ice] Ice without Life Orb, forcing Raichu to use its Z-Move or risk missing Focus Blast. However, the damage from Life Orb can rack up in combination with entry hazards or status damage to put Raichu in range of even very weak attacks such as Gourgiest's Gourgeist's Foul Play or and Golem's Sucker Punch. If using Life Orb, change Raichu's HP IVs to 29 to take less recoil.

Usage Tips

Raichu can be used either as a battering ram to break a defensive core in the early to early- or mid-game or as a fast sweeper in the late-game. (AH) Try to put Raichu into situations where it will force switches, (AC) such as against slower Water- (AH) and Flying-types (AH) or against passive Pokemon that cannot significantly damage it, (AC) so that it can boost with Nasty Plot to break through the opposing team. (if that was your point) A small amount of chip damage on Lickilicky can greatly boost Life Orb Raichu's odds of breaking stall.

Choose All-Out (AH) Pummeling's target carefully, but be aware that missing Focus Blast against Komala, Abomasnow, or Golem will often mean the end of Raichu. A neutral All-Out (AH) Pummeling hits significantly harder than either a neutral Thunderbolt or a super effective Hidden Power Ice, so using it on a target that is not weak to Fighting can sometimes be advantageous. **Priority**: While uncommon in ZU, attacks with boosted priority will heavily damage Raichu. Sucker Punch from Pawniard, Golem, Shiftry,(AC) and Kecleon or and Mach Punch from Monferno can heavily damage Raichu due to its poor physical bulk.
