honestly dont see how village is supposed to lose this game when they have 2 cops and a limited vig in addition to the temple mechanic which is town sided, then u have cultists throwing the game and its a miracle we were relatively close to winning

game was fun! finally won a game i helped lead which is nice.
dle dying literally sealed the fate of the entire graverobber faction because both dusk and cancerous were conflicting with him so thats extremely unfortunate to them.
shoutouts to hal and I both being alignment cops and fucking inspecting each other n1, fuck's sake. We actually managed to get a strong townpool as a result of that though and it probably won us the game.

Hell, shoutouts to former/amph/nuxl too since they did an excellent job leading.

i was thinking this too, i think we need bad temple rng / mislynches (the former of which actually happened, and the latter of which wouldve happened via poisoning DLE). Former basically annihilating the entire cultist faction by himself was incredibly clutch and swung the game waaaay in our favor, though.

i mean, honestly a lot of things went in our favor, town could've lost this game if any of these things happened:

cultists didn't shoot rogue
we didn't get a d1 lynch off
both cops died by n2 which is what would've happened if me or rssp claimed our real result
gr didn't shoot dle
fh didn't get the entire cultist faction

if FH hadn't punked the Cultists so hard and they legitimately killed Ampharos and apricity+Nuxl die to temples the game hits LYLO sooner. The problem was you guys killed DLE at the point where a mislynch onto jalmont would've won you the game, which then implicated Cancerous heavily and Dusk lightly.

the Cultists' kill vanishing so quickly was also a problem, if they weren't gone by N3 that's another kill on the village that would have put them potentially at equal numbers to the mafias and in a very loseable position.

The Witch was probably played too cautiously but with temple RNG in play (not only with a straight-up chance of death, but with the potential of weird items like an extra kill or something) I didn't want to risk wasting the one-death buffer we had built for ourselves.

Shoutouts to: Nuxl for a great job getting the ball rolling, especially considering that it's apparently his first OC game; Former Hope, for deep-dicking the Cultists and making my job 10x easier; and rssp1, for keeping me sane during the back half of the game (despite being insane himself hehehe).

Game had an interesting design, was fun. I knew the temple was something MP2 related but I'm not sure why it was JMax? Of course I say that without going back to check what JMax was so lolme.

Honestly, I just thought it would be hilarious for town to mole a mafia faction. So I did it.

Ended up going pretty well, managed to activate the rouge N1 and give town some free lynches while we figured out the graverobbers (who we accidentally referred to as gravediggers the entire game).

gawdawpalin was a 70% BG so i could've lived n2  lmfao, same with both cops getting fucked by temples LOL

yeah anyway as my first OC and third maf game ever this was really hectic especially being village leader lmao don't lemme do that in the future LOL but was fun regardless. not much to say about my play mainly outside of yelling at people for info and being paranoid i didn't do much.

good job team, nice job cleaning up the rest of the game. yeah dusk/cancerous were instantly incriminated after DLE flipped town which sucks but maf fortunately didn't have the info to direct the kill otherwise

FH mvp sorry i didn't give you enough faith until it was too late

Oh come on. 2 cops? In what world to be fair. Even though hal died to rng I knew he was cop day 1 after how nuxl played it (yeti can confirm). Scum never had any way to win at all lol.

Yeti commented on how I gave up the revive item btw. Yeah it's class but when you include a temple that implies it's going to upgrade of course people are going to try to get better. I went through this whole game wishing I knew the odds of temples because at the end of the day so much luck is involved it made it hard to strategise at all regarding temples. Both town and mafia suffered hard because the temples were too unpredictable imo.

fwiw i think in the world we only have one cop it comes down to whether ampharos chokes or not - we were pretty certain zorbees was scum (hence my inspect on him) and both you/cancerous automatically get lynched due to conflicting with DLE's results.
we also got all 3 cultists due to former going ham, not due to cop inspects. The only time me being a second cop was actually relevant was day 1 when I inspected hal, and day 3 when I inspected DLE - and the latter almost won you guys the game because I didnt know I had been insane-ified.

Although I suppose if i'm not cop there's a butterfly effect because I end up leading day 1, not Nuxl, and that DOES change the whole game.

I think you are underestimating how the fact you had two sheeted cops D1 automatically won you the game unless you choked though.

Btw fair play to fh, I can't fault his game tbf because he carried hard. But even if this didn't happen (which it definitely should not have) town should always win this set up. Oc should be won by having a solid group of cleared people on sheet and having two cops made that piss easy. You didn't even really need to come up with scum reads straight off because you had the near mechanical win right off the bat with the two cops.

What exactly did you think would be an upgrade to a revive..

As an overall setup critique I suppose that's fair, i'm honestly not sure given that all the cop inspects ended up being relevant aside from the mutual inspect d1 (which was pretty much gamewinning).
I think realistically the reason town was so overpowered information wise was two things: the lack of protection (until rogue died) and the double nightkills each night. We got very very lucky in offing the cultists d1/2/3 which made the game immensely easier for us - I don't think that this game goes the same way 90% of the time, even with double cop inspects just due to rogue not always reviving, cops getting sniped (after which the information gathering is pretty poor aside from temple watcher), and the one person who probably wouldve won you guys the game getting nightkilled.

There's also the fact of the catch-22 GR's ended up in which prevented them from actually killing amph. Due to how limited protection amph had (I'm not sure when she got the bpv) if they had actually managed to kill her then town would probably have been more on the rocks.

ooh yeah not passing the bpv was really really stupid on our parts
