Raikou is a Beast!!!

Hey guys, I wanted to build a team around Raikou, and here is it! Sorry for my bad English by the way.

Teambuilding Process:

Ok, my star has to be Raikou. It has very much speed, and can sweep many teams after one Calm Mind.

So, what counters Raikou? Blissey, Gliscor, Flygon. I have to counter these pokémons. So I choose Scizor for Blissey, and Vaporeon for Gliscor and Flygon (Flygon won't do very much damage I think...)

Machamp sucks very hard, so I choose Gliscor for counter it. It gives me also a resistance to groundattacks, so its really good for my team. It will be my lead, because i need Stealth Rock, and it works well as a lead IMO.

I hate stall. And stall means Spikes + Stealth Rocks (+ Toxic Spikes). So I need a spiner. I choose Starmie, because it has very much power, and its cool :D

At last, I choose Heatran. I think, I need one more resistance against fire, and it rocks in combination with Scizors U-turn XD

In details:

477.png

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Roost
- U-turn
-> Ok, Gliscor is my lead. With prediction, resttalkrotom is no problem for me, because I've got Heatran, too. Stealth Rocks support my team by damaging other pokémon, which switch in. Maybe I will try Taunt > U-turn, I will see.

243.png

Raikou @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Grass]
-> The star of the team! I wanted really to test it, because I think, that it has a very cool speed, and after some calm mind's it can't be stopped. I have some tyranitarcounters, so i'm playing Hidden Power [Grass]. Thunderbolt is a powerful stab and Shadow Ball is for Rotom. :)

212.png

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
-> I like this guy! It can scout for me, and it counters tyranitar a little bit. With Stealth Rocks in the field, I can take down the oppenents health very slowly by always using U-turn.

134.png

Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Electric]
-> Vaporeon is very important for my team, because it can absorb waterattacks and has a fireresistance. It is also my wisher, wich can support a raikousweep!

121.png

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
-> Here is it! My Spinner, very important I would say. It can sweep, too, that's the reason, I wanted to take him and NOT forretress, which dies to much without any sweeping. The moves should be clear, without Latias and Salamence I nearly NEVER need Ice Beam, so I choosed Recover, if Blissey is coming into Starmie.

490.png

Heatran (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Electric]
-> Yeah, one more fireresistance! If Rotom is coming into Scizor's U-turn, I will mostly switch into Heatran, because everybody fears the Choice Scarf. If I'm using Substitute, I can win by a Heatransweep.

First,Put More Descriptions Before Its Gonna Get Locked By a Moderator..Also,I Love Raikou As After a CM,Earth Power Fails To 2HKO >:D

Now For Rating,

Use Heatran As A Lead Because Its Usually Beaten Like Swamperts Etc And It Doesnt Really Help Your Team Other Than Heatran Or Raikou.Use Heatran With This Set

490.png

Heatran @ Shuca Berry
Timid Nature
Ev's:252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Moveset:
~ Stealth Rock
~ Fire Blast
~ Earth Power
~ Explosion / Taunt / Hidden Power Grass

Now For The Empty Slot,I Really Would Recommend Gyarados As Its a Good Partner For Raikou,But Three Of Your Pokemon Would Be Weak To Electric,So You Can Use DD Dragonite Or Mixnite

As For Vaporeon,Dont Use HP Electric As Raikou Is There,Instead,Use Toxic >:D

GL!

I suggest Hidden Power Fighting over Hidden Power Grass on Raikou just to counter Tyranitar. Though even with Modest nature and Life Orb, Raikou can't take down Tyranitar with one HP Fighting.

Guess what? Scizor isn't a really reliable way of dealing with Blissey, as Blissey can always switch out to an appropriate counter (Pursuit only does 36.4-43% on a standard wishbliss). Also, Tyranitar can severely dent Scizor with Stone Edge or even Earthquake as you switch in Scizor to Tyranitar.

I suggest using Machamp over your Scizor for a number of reasons.
  • Machamp is a more appropriate counter to Tyranitar than Gliscor; it can come in on both of TTar's STAB attacks and set up a sub while it switches out, and attack the next turn.
  • Machamp is better in dealing with Blissey and Machamp's counters because Machamp can OHKO Blissey with Dynamicpunch, has Substitute, and can spread confusion hax to its counters by using Dynamicpunch.

Machamp @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 216 HP/252 Atk/40 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dynamicpunch
- Stone Edge
- Payback
- Substitute

In addition, if you would like, you could use a gimmicky set to get rid of Gliscor and Flygon. By utilizing Tyranitar with Substitute and Ice Beam (AKA Tyraniboah), you can hit the two with Ice Beam while you are (hopefully) behind a substitute. In addition, Focus Punch will also deal with Blissey.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/52 Atk/176 SAtk/28 Spd
Quiet nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Focus Punch
- Ice Beam
- Crunch/Dark Pulse
- Substitute

I suggest replacing Heatran with Tyranitar, as Tyranitar works easily well in absorbing Rotom's attacks, and also works well as a fire resist.

Hope this helps.

First of all, Raikou dosen't really need hp grass due to the fact that swampert isnt around late game.
Another thing is Scizor. I never liked band. Swords Dance works better because then you can set up on switches. Try this:
dpmfa212.png

Scizor @ Life Orb
Adamant
Evs: 252 HP/ 252 ATK/ 4 SPE
Technician
~Swords Dance
~Bullet Punch
~Superpower
~Pursuit

This supports your team for many reasons. It causes switches, and on that switch SR damage is shed and you also get an SD boost. With that, you can effectively start sweeping. Kill their switch-in and you're in business, as nothing can really stop it. Another good thing about switches is pursuit. Some ghosts may be hard to take down, but not anymore.

Nothing else on this team is needed to be changed. Solid team! :)

Thanks for your rates! I will try everything you said. ^^

You're right, but Tyranitar can't absorb a Will-O-Wisp from Rotom! I just wanted to absorb this silly attack. :(

Are you concerned more about the 12% damage or the fact that it cuts attack in half? If it's the latter, then that is why Dark Pulse is viable, as it is a Special attack, and WoW doesn't affect its power. The only problem is Focus Punch won't be effective against Blissey.
