ZU Rampardos

[OVERVIEW]

Rampardos is a destructive wallbreaker in ZU. With a monstrous Attack stat, a great ability in Sheer Force, and access to coverage moves like Zen Headbutt and Ice Beam, Rampardos has virtually no defensive counterplay, a feat that other wallbreakers like Marowak fail to achieve. Unfortunately, poor bulk and mediocre Speed mean that Rampardos can be easily revenge killed by common offensive threats like Swanna and Electivire. This is further compounded by Rampardos's Rock typing, which, while solid offensively, leaves it with nasty weaknesses to common Grass-, Water-, Fighting-, and Ground-type moves. These factors can make Rampardos hard to fit onto a team, especially in comparison to other wallbreakers like Marowak and Choice Band Komala, which, while lacking the raw power of Rampardos, have moderately better bulk and access to pivoting in Komala's case.

[SET]
name: Wallbreaker
move 1: Rock Slide
move 2: Fire Punch
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Zen Headbutt / Substitute
item: Life Orb
ability: Sheer Force
nature: Naive
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Fire Punch hits Grass- and Steel-types hard, notably 2HKOing Gourgeist-XL, Shiinotic, and Bronzor. Ice Beam dents bulky Ground-types like Torterra and Golem, which resist Rock Slide. For the fourth slot, Zen Headbutt covers Fighting-types like Poliwrath and Silvally-Fighting, which take minimal damage from Rampardos's other moves, making it the preferred choice. However, in exchange for losing coverage on the aforementioned Pokemon, Substitute can be used to capitalize on the switches Rampardos forces and give it a safety net against faster attackers and status. Rampardos has no recovery, though, so it must be used carefully.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment with a Naive nature ensures that Rampardos will outrun slower offensive threats like Exeggutor and Torterra, in addition to most of the tier's walls. Silvally formes like Silvally-Water and Silvally-Fighting are an exception to this, however. Life Orb boosts Rampardos's damage output while simultaneously having its recoil negated by Sheer Force.

Usage Tips
========

Wallbreaking is Rampardos's primary objective, so it should ideally be used early- or mid-game to punch holes in the opposing team for its teammates to take advantage of. To that end, Rampardos functions best when entry hazards are on the field, as they aid it in breaking down potential answers like Torterra and Silvally-Fighting. Try to bring Rampardos in through pivoting moves like U-turn and Volt Switch, as it doesn't have the bulk to take even weak attacks well. Prediction is key when using Rampardos; a proper prediction can mean the difference between getting a 2HKO and being forced out. For example, if the opponent anticipates a Fire Punch and switches Bronzor out for Poliwrath, it could be a good opportunity to heavily damage it with Zen Headbutt.

Team Options
========

Sticky Web support is great for Rampardos, as it can patch up Rampardos's mediocre Speed and give it a fighting chance against offensive teams. Shuckle and Smeargle are prime setters for Sticky Web and can additionally set Stealth Rock or put the opposing Pokemon to sleep with Spore. Setup sweepers like Combusken and Z-Mirror Move Swanna appreciate targets like Mareanie being removed or weakened by Rampardos. On a similar note, strong attackers like Kadabra and Bouffalant enjoy Gourgeist and Bronzor being taken out of the equation, as they can use their STAB moves more liberally. Pivoting is greatly appreciated to get Rampardos onto the field safely: Electivire and Rotom-F can provide Volt Switch support, while Komala, Chatot, and Silvally formes can provide U-turn support. Though all of these pivots can take advantage of the holes Rampardos punches in the opposing team, Electivire and Rotom-F in particular can capitalize on Electric-immune walls like Torterra being removed. On more balanced teams, defensive pivots like Silvally-Water and Altaria can ward off revenge killers like Swanna and Sawsbuck.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Minimum Speed investment can be used with Trick Room to bypass Rampardos's mediocre Speed stat. The combination of Swords Dance and Mold Breaker can be used to further augment Rampardos's wallbreaking capabilities, as Mold Breaker allows it to ignore Pyukumuku's Unaware and Avalugg's Sturdy. Surf can also be used over Ice Beam on such a set to OHKO Golem. The extra power from Sheer Force is usually better, though, as Rampardos already has an advantageous matchup with bulkier teams. Rock Polish can fix Rampardos's mediocre Speed and take advantage of the opponent's attempts to pivot around it, creating a powerful late-game cleaner. However, this set still fails to outspeed fast Choice Scarf users like Electivire, which can OHKO it back. Head Smash hits much harder than Rock Slide, but the high recoil and lower accuracy make it an unreliable and volatile option. Choice Scarf can be used to surprise offensive teams, but Rampardos is still outsped by most other Choice Scarf users and is still easy to revenge kill.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: In general, most faster offensive Pokemon can easily dispose of Rampardos. Swanna, Leafeon, Simisage, and other fast Pokemon that hit Rampardos for super effective damage are especially notable.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Marowak, Golem, and Silvally-Ground can take a hit from Rampardos and OHKO it with their STAB attacks. Silvally-Ground is especially notable, as it can outspeed and KO Rampardos without it having a chance to retaliate.

**Fighting-types**: Though they cannot switch in safely with the fear of Zen Headbutt, Poliwrath and Silvally-Fighting can take Rock Slides and have enough HP left to threaten Rampardos out with their super effective STAB attacks.

**Status**: A burn from Will-O-Wisp halves Rampardos's Attack, stopping it from doing its job of wallbreaking, while poison and paralysis make it even easier to revenge kill than it already is.

AM Check. Great job for a first analysis. :blobthumbsup:
[OVERVIEW]
  • Rampardos is one of the most powerful wallbreakers in ZU due to its monstrous attack stat and Sheer Force.
  • Solid coverage means that almost nothing can switch into Rampardos effectively without risk of stomaching a super effective hit. You should probably merge this with the previous lune.
  • Unfortunately, this power comes at a price. Rampardos is very susceptible to being revenge killed due to its poor bulk and speed.
  • Furthermore, while a pure Rock typing is solid offensively, it leaves Rampardos with weaknesses to Grass-, Ground-, Fighting-, and Water-type attacks, all of which are moderately common.
  • These downsides mean that Rampardos is usually unviable on any team archetype other than hyper offense or Trick Room. This isn't true. Rampardos can be used in every offensive team even it fits better in TR ans HO.
You didn't mention why you should consider using Ramp in a team i.e. when you need a very strong wallbreaker that can destroy stall and has unlike Toucannon and Marowak no defensive switch ins.

[SET]
name: Barney, Destroyer of Worlds (Life Orb Attacker) Just name it Wallbreaker
move 1: Rock Slide
move 2: Fire Punch
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Zen Headbutt / Substitute
item: Life Orb
ability: Sheer Force
nature: Naive
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

Fire Punch already hits most Eq targets for almost as much damage but with the bonus to 2HKO Gourg and Zor. With this coverage combination Rampardos can hit every Rock resists for SE damage outside of Probopass and deals more damage to Alolem and Reli.
Ice Beam also deals more damage to Ground types such as Golem and Slash.
Rampardos can easily set up a Substitute thanks to its ability to force switches and can use it on passive foes such as Pyuk and Shuckle

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Rock Slide is a powerful STAB move, especially with a Life Orb and Sheer Force boost. Fluff
  • Earthquake targets Rock- and Steel-types such as Golem, Metang, and Mawile and has great coverage in tandem with Rock Slide.
  • Zen Headbutt dents Fighting-types such as Silvally-Fighting and Poliwrath. Emphasize on Poliwrath with otherwise resists all Poli moves. I'd also replace Fightvally with Machoke or Haka because the former outspeeds Ramp and can OHKO hit.
  • Fire Punch 2HKOs Gourgeist, Shiinotic, and Bronzor, who would wall Rampardos otherwise.
  • Head Smash can be used over Rock Slide for an even more powerful STAB move, but the recoil wears Rampardos down very quickly while also leaving it even more susceptible to being revenge killed.
Change moves according to the new set

Set Details
========
  • Maximum Speed investment with a Naive nature ensures that Rampardos will outspeed slower offensive threats such as Exeggutor, in addition to every common wall in the tier.
  • Maximum Attack investment makes Rampardos hit as hard as possible. Fluff
  • Life Orb increases Rampardos's damage output, and the recoil is negated for its moves that have secondary effects thanks to Sheer Force.
  • Sheer Force boosts the power of moves with secondary effects, which aids Rampardos in wallbreaking.
Usage Tips
========
  • As wallbreaking is Rampardos's primary objective, it should be used early- or mid-game to punch holes in the opposing team.
  • Try to bring Rampardos in safely through pivoting moves such as U-Turn or Volt Switch, as it doesn't have the bulk to take even weak attacks well. This is especially important if Head Smash is used, as it will wear down Rampardos even faster on top of any other damage it accumulates.
  • Try to predict your opponent's switches: hitting the switch-in with the appropriate coverage move can be the difference between getting a KO or being forced out.
Team Options
========
  • Sticky Web support patches up Rampardos's middling speed tier and gives it a fighting chance against offense. Shuckle is a prime setter, as it can lay down both Sticky Web and Stealth Rock.
  • On that note, other hazards like the aforementioned Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes will help Rampardos net more KOs. It's a bit paradoxal that you say in the overview that Ramp only fits on HO and that you mention T-Spikes i.e. Mareanie as partner.
  • Cleaners such as Combusken and Z-Mirror Move Swanna appreciate the holes Rampardos can punch in the opposing team.
  • Rampardos can remove Shiinotic and Gourgeist with a properly predicted Fire Punch, which can be invaluable to physical attackers like Shiftry and Basculin whose STAB moves are resisted by them.
  • Pivoting is greatly appreciated to get Rampardos onto the field safely. Electivire and Rotom-F can provide Volt Switch support, while Komala, Chatot, and variants of Silvally can provide U-Turn support.
Mention weak and fast attackers such as Jumpluff and Zebstrika that appreciate walls to be weakened.
Also mention paralysis users such as Servine.
Since you mention Webs setters you can mention TR setters and abusers.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Minimum speed investment can be used with Trick Room to bypass Rampardos's mediocre speed.
  • Superpower can be used over Earthquake to retain coverage on Rock- and Steel-types while hitting Lickilicky and Komala hard. However, Rock Slide hits both of them very hard anyway, and Rampardos does not appreciate the attack and defense drops that come with using it. I'd remove this.
  • Crunch hits Beeheeyem and Exeggutor for super effective damage, but again, Rock Slide deals with them just fine, making it rather redundant. Same as above.
  • Mold Breaker has some situational utility in ignoring Sturdy on Pokemon such as Golem and Levitate on Bronzor, but this typically isn't worth losing the wallbreaking prowess Sheer Force provides. Mention that SD+Mold Breaker breaks stall due to ignoring Avalugg Sturdy and Pyuk Unaware but is generally inferior to Sheer Force raw power and which still has an excellent MU against stall.
  • A Choice Band can raise Rampardos's power to nuclear levels, but the freedom to switch moves is often worth more than the additional power Choice Band provides. Rampardos really enjoys switching move so I'd remove it
  • Choice Scarf can be used to surprise offensive teams. However, it is outsped by most other Choice Scarf users and is still very easy to revenge kill.
Stealth Rock

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: In general, most faster offensive Pokemon can easily dispose of Rampardos. Even with Sticky Web support, some of these Pokemon still carry priority that can heavily damage or outright KO Rampardos, such as Shiftry's Sucker Punch and Basculin's Aqua Jet.

**Fighting-types**: Though they cannot switch in safely, Combusken and defensive variants of Silvally-Fighting can threaten Rampardos out with their super effective STAB attacks.

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp halves Rampardos's attack, stopping it from doing its job of wallbreaking, while poison and paralysis make it even easier to revenge kill than it already is.

Team Options
========
  • Sticky Web and Trick Room support patch up Rampardos's middling speed tier and give it a fighting chance against offense. Shuckle is a prime setter for Sticky Web, while Carbink and Chimecho can reliably set up Trick Room.

**Fighting-types**: Though they cannot switch in safely with the fear of Zen Headbutt, Combusken Poliwrath and Silvally-Fighting can take Rock Slides and threaten Rampardos out with their super effective STAB attacks. • Try to bring Rampardos in safely through pivoting moves such as U-Turn or Volt Switch, as it doesn't have the bulk to take even weak attacks well.
  • Try to predict your opponent's switches: hitting the switch-in with the appropriate coverage move can be the difference between getting a KO or being forced out. For instance, if the opponent predicts a Fire Punch and switches Bronzor into Poliwrath, it could be a good chance to deal heavy damage to the incoming Poliwrath with Zen Headbutt.
  • Rampardos functions best when there are entry hazards on the field, as they aid in OHKOing potential switch ins like Physically Defensive Torterra.
  • Some very bulky Pokemon like Gourgeist-XL, Sandslash, Golem, and Mareanie cannot be taken down in one hit, even with the appropriate coverage move, and can threaten Rampardos back with a Burn or heavy damage from Earthquake. Make sure these trades are worthwhile, or Rampardos's hole-punching power will be limited. I get what you mean here and I think the delivery could be clearer. Should simply say that if those switch-ins are weakened enough to be 2HKOed by Rampardos (i.e "make sure ramp can 2HKO them")
Team Options
========
  • Sticky Web and Trick Room support patch up Rampardos's middling speed tier and give it a fighting chance against offense. Shuckle is a prime setter for Sticky Web, while Carbink and Chimecho can reliably set up Trick Room. While it's usable on TR w/o going min Speed, TR is mentioned in OO and is not as relevant on this set.
  • Entry hazards like Stealth Rock and Spikes from Metang and Crustle respectively will help Rampardos net more 1HKOs. Give an example or two for relevant OHKOes.
  • Cleaners such as Combusken and Z-Mirror Move Swanna appreciate the holes Rampardos can punch in the opposing team. Specify what those two appreciate being weakened or knocked out
  • Attackers on the weaker side like Rotom-F and Purrugly enjoy walls being worn down. Merge this with the point on pivoting because they fall under the same category.
  • Rampardos can remove Bronzor and Gourgiest with a properly predicted Fire Punch, which can be invaluable to attackers like Kadabra and Bouffalant, as they have more freedom to utilize their STAB moves.
  • Pivoting is greatly appreciated to get Rampardos onto the field safely. Electivire and Rotom-F can provide Volt Switch support, while Komala, Chatot, and variants of Silvally can provide U-Turn support.
  • Defensive pivots like Metang and Poliwrath are helpful for preserving Rampardos, as they can ward off would-be revenge killers like Swanna and Leafeon. Metang isn't really relevant as a Swanna switch-in so mention something else.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Minimum speed investment can be used with Trick Room to bypass Rampardos's mediocre speed.
  • The combination of Swords Dance and Mold Breaker can be used to tear bulkier teams in half, as Mold Breaker allows Rampardos to ignore Pyukumuku's Unaware and Avalugg's Sturdy. However, Rampardos already has an advantageous match up with stall and the extra power from Sheer Force is generally superior.
  • Rock Polish can fix Rampardos's mediocre speed and take advantage of the opponent's attempts to pivot around it, creating a powerful late-game cleaner. However, this set fails to outspeed fast Choice Scarf users like Electivire, who can OHKO it back.
  • Head Smash hits much harder than Rock Slide, but the high recoil and lower accuracy make it an unreliable option.
  • Choice Scarf can be used to surprise offensive teams. However, it is outsped by most other Choice Scarf users and is still very easy to revenge kill.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: In general, most faster offensive Pokemon can easily dispose of Rampardos. Swanna and other fast attackers such as... that hit Rampardos for super effective damage are especially notable.

**Fighting-types**: Though they cannot switch in safely with the fear of Zen Headbutt, Poliwrath and Silvally-Fighting can take Rock Slides and have enough HP left to threaten Rampardos out with their super effective STAB attacks.

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp halves Rampardos's attack, stopping it from doing its job of wallbreaking, while poison and paralysis make it even easier to revenge kill than it already is.

Add in **Ground-types** before **Status**. Ground-types are especially relevant in the metagame and Pokemon such as Marowak, Golem, and Sandslash can eat a hit and OHKO back, while Silvally-Ground is faster and can OHKO Ramp

qc 2/3 good job

[OVERVIEW]
  • Rampardos is one of the most powerful wallbreakers in ZU due to its monstrous attack stat and Sheer Force, with solid coverage to give potential switch-ins a rough time.
  • Having virtually no defensive switch-ins means that Rampardos has a leg up on other wallbreakers like Choice Band Komala and Marowak, who can still be walled by Pokemon like Avalugg and Gourgeist -XL.
And this makes Rampardos especially difficult to fit onto teams compared to other wallbreakers like CB Komala, CB Golem, and Marowak.

Moves
========
  • Fire Punch hits Steel-types like Metang and Mawile hard, while also obtaining a 2HKO on Gourgeist and Shiinotic.
  • Ice Beam deals a solid amount of damage to Ground-types like Golem and Sandslash, who would otherwise soundly beat Rampardos.
  • Zen Headbutt dents Fighting-types such as Machoke and Poliwrath. Poliwrath is especially notable, as it takes pitiful damage from all of Rampardos's other attacks.
  • In exchange for losing coverage on Fighting-types, Substitute capitalizes on the switches Rampardos forces, giving it a safety net against faster attackers and status. Rampardos has no recovery, though, so it must be used carefully.
Set Details
========
  • Maximum Speed investment with a Naive nature ensures that Rampardos will outspeed slower offensive threats such as Exeggutor, in addition to most walls in the tier, with the exception of some Silvally variants like Silvally-Fighting and Silvally-Water.
  • Life Orb increases Rampardos's damage output, and the recoil is negated for its moves that have secondary effects thanks to Sheer Force.

Moves
========

Fire Punch hits Grass- and Steel-types hard, notably 2HKOing Gourgeist-XL, Shiinotic, and Bronzor. Ice Beam dents bulky Ground-types like Torterra and Golem who resist Rock Slide. For the fourth slot, Zen Headbutt covers Fighting-types like Poliwrath and Silvally-Fighting who take minimal damage from Rampardos' other moves, making it the preferred choice. However, in exchange for losing coverage on the aforementioned Pokemon, Substitute can be used to capitalize on the switches Rampardos forces and give it a safety net against faster attackers and status. Rampardos has no recovery, though, so it must be used carefully.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment with a Naive nature ensures that Rampardos will outrun slower offensive threats like Exeggutor and Torterra, in addition to most of the tier's walls. Variants of Silvally are an exception to this, however. idk why you took Ho3n's specific examples in the QC check and then removed their specific mentions. You need to rework them back into the analysis because this statement feels entirely misplaced otherwise. Life Orb is the item of choice, as it boosts Rampardos' damage output while simultaneously having its recoil negated by Sheer Force.

Usage Tips
========

Wallbreaking is Rampardos' primary objective, so it should ideally be used early- or mid-game to punch holes in the opposing team for its teammates to take advantage of. Team Options

Sticky Web support is great for Rampardos, as it can patch up its mediocre speed and give it a fighting chance against offensive teams. Shuckle and Smeargle are prime setters for Sticky Web, and can additionally set Stealth Rocks or put the opposing Pokemon to sleep with Spore respectively. Set up sweepers like Combusken and Z-Mirror Move Swanna appreciate targets like Mareanie being removed or weakened by Rampardos. On a similar note, strong attackers like Kadabra and Bouffalant enjoy Gourgeist and Bronzor being taken out of the equation, as they can use their STAB moves more liberally. Pivoting is greatly appreciated to get Rampardos onto the field safely: Electivire and Rotom-F can provide Volt Switch support, while Komala, Chatot, and variants of Silvally can provide U-Turn support. Though all of these pivots can take advantage of the holes Rampardos punches in the opposing team, Electivire and Rotom-F in particular can capitalize on electric-immune walls like Torterra being removed. On more balanced teams, defensive pivots like variants of Silvally what Silvally form? I would assume Water, bc Silvally Normal doesnt not check Swanna defensively; Scarf variants only offensively and Altaria can ward off revenge killers like Swanna and Sawsbuck.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment with a Naive nature ensures that Rampardos will outrun slower offensive threats like Exeggutor and Torterra, in addition to most of the tier's walls. Silvally formes like Silvally-Water and Silvally-Fighting are an exception to this, however. Life Orb is the item of choice, as it boosts Rampardos's damage output while simultaneously having its recoil negated by Sheer Force.

Usage Tips
========

Prediction is key when using Rampardos;(colon -> semicolon) a proper prediction can mean the difference between getting a 2HKO and being forced out. For example, if the opponent anticipates a Fire Punch and switches Bronzor out for Poliwrath, it could be a good opportunity to heavily damage the incoming Poliwrath it with Zen Headbutt.

Team Options
========

Sticky Web support is great for Rampardos, as it can patch up its Rampardos's mediocre speed Speed and give it a fighting chance against offensive teams. On more balanced teams, defensive pivots like Silvally-Water and Altaria can ward off revenge killers like Swanna and Sawsbuck.

Other Options
=============

Minimum Speed investment can be used with Trick Room to bypass Rampardos's mediocre Speed stat. The combination of Swords Dance and Mold Breaker can be used to further augment Rampardos's wallbreaking capabilities, as Mold Breaker allows Rampardos it to ignore Pyukumuku's Unaware and Avalugg's Sturdy. Surf can also be used over Ice Beam on such a set to OHKO Golem. The extra power from Sheer Force is usually better, though, as Rampardos already has an advantageous matchup(spacing) with bulkier teams. Rock Polish can fix Rampardos's mediocre speed Speed and take advantage of the opponent's attempts to pivot around it, creating a powerful late-game cleaner.

===================

**Status**: Burn from Will-O-Wisp halves Rampardos's Attack, stopping it from doing its job of wallbreaking, while poison and paralysis make it even easier to revenge kill than it already is.
