This tournament is the first of many tours as a part of our ongoing Rands Slam circuit. Stay tuned after this tour for news about the next one!

The winner of the Random Battles Classic Open will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battles room for a month, be inducted into the Randbats Hall of Fame, and be awarded points for the Rands Slam. The winner of the Playoffs Round will receive a Smogon banner for a full year, along with a month-long Room Prize Winner rank and joinphrase.

How does this tour work?

Each generation will be played one time, with no repeats (so series that go to a 5th game will see players play all 5 of the oldest Randbats formats). The order of generations does NOT need to be chronological. Instead:
1. Contact your opponent and determine which generation will be played first. If you cannot agree on a format, use the command “!roll 5” on PS to randomly pick a starting generation.
2. Battle each other in the chosen generation.
3. Loser picks the next generation to play. Battles continue, generation by generation, until one player has 3 wins.

For example:
your mom and I are avid fans of old generations Random Battle and collectively decided to start off with [Gen 4] after some mutual discussion. However, in an alternate reality where your mom and I have only ever played [Gen 8] Random Battle and don't really care which gen we start off with, we decided to do use !roll 5 to decide our starting generation and [Gen 3] was chosen for us to start with. (It doesn't matter who does !roll as long as both parties agree to letting the starting gen be random).

Please note:

1. All scheduling attempts MUST be done publicly on Smogon Walls. No other proof of communication will count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts.
2. You MUST post replays of your wins.

mj  vs  Haider787 | Haider kicked Michael out, the first Classic winner, and Kaede, I don't see a reason for them to stop there!
R1C3M4N  vs  MultiAmmiratore | aiwla kicked me out last round, but Chiori is our snom 1st drafted player maybe one of the contender to the title this year so I would have picked them regardless
LoSconosciuto  vs  Dj Breloominati♬| One of the highlight imo, great players, but Losco is at his best in a tour where he can show off the variety of the formats he plays well
teresbahji  vs  Quoise | Quoise is on a good run, but Teres has nothing to prove now, very confident in the old gens, and should be able to get the win
Clementine  vs  El químico del pueblucho | Another big match up, two friends of mine and great players, it could really go either way. I'll still pick fellow skymin because they might be a bit more confident in the oldest gens, despite Clem rocking gen3

luisin  vs  Luchik | Luchik is a gen1 goat and an experienced rands player. Not that luisin is less experienced though; but I still think luchik expertise in old gens, especially gen1, should come in handy
VanitasEcho  vs sharpclaw | hi sharpie! I don't know enough of Vanitas to make myself a solid idea, but I know that my boss rocks!
LordST  vs  pokeblade101 | a big highlight, but blade seems more experienced in old gens than LST
SpectralThief  vs  AtraX Madara | SpectralThief kicked ABR out; needless to say it looks good on a resumé.
Michielleus  vs  soTsoT | Skymin battle :0 but at least it guarantees a skymin in the next round, I guess :/ Two great players, better than me without a doubt. My instinct is saying Michielleus, but it could also go either way.
PikaPlayer  vs  sunsets | Two strong players as well, maybe a slight edge for sunsets

Calling act on my opponent, he can't play on weekend ( i don't know what he has to do to not be able to play some randbats games lol) and he avoided to play when i asked him to. We talked on wednesday and that they he didn't answered for playing when i asked him, we agreed to play at his 12pm time and he came on at his 1.30pm with him ignoring my message to come on, and i really can't play on friday since i've class + chess club and not much time. Dude pretends me to play in those locations or either at 1am staying up from my bed lol. Conv on my wall

Dont be a clown, you told me to play on weekend at MONDAY. And I only take 13mins to answer back, you didnt say anything more until I drop another message on wednesday because you clearly forgot about it. I didn't avoid you lmfao, I just won a series, drop the message and go to bed. We agreed on 1.30pm, because as far as I know 13h.30 is 1.30pm, MY TIME (GMT-5, I told you twice). I waited for you like an hour 'til you came back from dinner but gtg, and you said you finished long time ago but didnt tell me about it instead you wait 20mins after my message to drop it. I dont know who is avoiding who... Finally, as I told you drop a time to play anytime tmrw because I wont be able on weekend and I let you know about it since monday.

The only correct thing u said is that i actually forgot to answer tuesday since i was having another conv on my wall were i could have took an act win but crazily i didn't since i don't fish act wins like u do.

You said you waited me for an hour when it was a couple of minutes and that's public to everyone on my wall lol.

Also, we agreed to play at your 12am since u didn't said nothing about playing at 13.30

I don't know who Wakes up at 10am the wednesday but who cares, the funny thing is that u wrote me before than i did and i proposed a time that was actually the same time u proposed me the day after, so more than reasonable.

That's a randbats oldgens tours so i thought everyone was playing that for fun, i think it is part of a circuit but not sure about it.
I really don't want to ear anything about this since it is just completely disrepectful continuing arguing at 2am just because he doesn't want to play and i still stayed there cause i wanted to get my games done and try to find a reasonable time.

I play another series, finished, drop message and go to bed, because even if I went to a party the day before I still make my games. (I put 2 alarms xd) Then I went to bed again.
And I not only told you to play tmrw but today too. Addittionaly, you argue I want you to play while you are in your chess club but you want me to play while im in another country in my vacations (which i told you and you can check it in our conversation). If I can play anytime in weekend, its in my night prob, during my 8pm moreless. So as you said, figure a time, go to the bathroom and take 20mins of your daily life to play randbats.
Btw how do you accuse me of fishing act win when even you got surprise you didnt get the act win LMAO. Shameless dude.

Your opponent told you on Monday at 4pm your time that he wasnt available on weekends. That leaves you with 4 and a half days to schedule between 3 and 5 games of Pokémon. Instead of telling him your availabilities and unavailabilities, you asked him at 4pm+2 (9am-5) to play at 6pm+2 (11am-5) on the same day, and when your opponent saw that, he offered to play at the time you suggested on the next day, to which you answered that you were available an hour later, but that you would rather play at 1:30pm / 2pm (both -5) (so between 8:30pm and 9pm GMT+2).

You not being able to convert time is one thing, but don't go around and straight up lie to hosts when your scheduling attempt is public and available after a simple click.
So, as you can see on this screenshot (I'm GMT+2, so same as you), your opponent came on at 1:28pm his time (-5) to play, which was the scheduled time, and you were early by 18 minutes asking them to come on. I would like to point out that you told them at 1:31pm -5 (8:31pm +2) that you weren't available anymore, meaning you were available for a total of 19 minutes to play best-of 5 that might include GSC Rands.

Your opponent was then unavailable 45 minutes later after waiting for you, since it was 2:15pm their time.

You never said that you were unable to play on Friday during the entire scheduling attempt, and only said that at 1:23am+2 today. This goes without saying that you can't claim AW because you said you weren't available on a day that exact day.

To sum it up, you never told your opponent at which times you were unavailable, except when they tried to play you at times you were. When you said a prefered time, and I quote "i prefer at ur 13.30/14", your opponent came on at the time you asked and you told them you weren't available right on the time you suggested. You will not be given AW and I'm honestly tempted to give your opponent the win because you missed a scheduled time in the first place. I'm gonna point out as well that your behaviour is not acceptable for a badgeholder, calling someone pathetic because you can't follow a conversation and convert times is a bit much, but that's not really of my business.

Now, and I'm gonna ping SpectralThief as well for this, I encourage both of you to check the Smogon Scheduling Guide because none of that would've happened if you just said from the get go at which times you were (un)available.

After talking about it at 2:30am (my time, so +2) today, the hosts came to the following conclusion.
You will be granted an extension until Wednesday May 4th, 11:59pm GMT-7.
If you cannot come to an agreement to play this, the win will be given to SpectralThief.
I'm expecting both of you to do your best while scheduling. Please give the guide a read, and schedule properly. Please ping me in the conversation once you have a scheduled time.
I do not want to see you post in this thread if it's not to post replays and someone winning. If you have complains about the decision, reach out to me IN PMS so we can discuss it.
I hope both of you have a nice day, looking forward to your games.
