Randbats Mayhem Tour
Round 3

Welcome to the Round 3 of the Random Battles Mayhem tour!

Specific rules:
  • This will be a standard single elimination tournament.
  • Battles will be bo3.
  • Matches to be played on Pokemon Showdown!
  • Replays aren't mandatory.
  • Use the following code to challenge your opponent:

/challenge [Gen 8] Random Battle @@@ maxteamsize=24, pickedteamsize=6, [Gen 8] Shared Power,[Gen 8] Camomons,Inverse Mod,Scalemons Mod

BRING 24 PICK 6 MOD ISN'T MANDATORY, IF BOTH PLAYERS AGREE TO BRING 6 PICK 6, USE THIS CODE:

/challenge [Gen 8] Random Battle @@@ [Gen 8] Shared Power,[Gen 8] Camomons,Inverse mod, Scalemons mod

Clauses:
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same National Pokédex number on a team.
  • 2 Ability Clause: A player cannot have more than two Pokemon with the same Ability on a team.
  • OHKO Clause: A Pokemon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold in its moveset.
  • Evasion Clause: A Pokemon may not have either Double Team or Minimize in its moveset.
  • Sleep Clause: If a player has already put a Pokemon on his/her opponent's side to sleep and it is still sleeping, another one can't be put to sleep.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Players cannot intentionally prevent an opponent from being able to end the game without forfeiting.
  • Dynamax Clause: Players cannot use the mechanic known as Dynamaxing.

Shared Power: Once a Pokémon switches in, its ability is shared with the rest of the team. Your team's abilities are all active at the same time. That means if you have a Durant with Hustle and a Doublade with No Guard, your Crawdaunt would have Hustle and No Guard in addition to its Adaptability.
When Shared Power is added as a mod and not the base format, some abilities don't behave correctly. Some known bugged ones include:
* Mirror Armor, Trace (intentionally disallowed)
* Levitate
* Scrappy, Inner Focus, Oblivious, Own Tempo (Intimidate block)
* Guts, Quick Feet (stat debuff prevention)
* Prankster (Shared mons can still affect Dark type)
* Neutralizing Gas (Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't for both ally and foe)
Camomons: Pokémon change type to match their first two moves. For instance, a Lucario with Swords Dance, Close Combat, Crunch and Bullet Punch will become a Normal / Fighting-type.
Inverse: Type weaknesses and resistances are reversed. For example, Fighting moves will be super effective on ghost types.
Scalemons: Pokemon's stats, barring HP, are scaled to give them a BST as close to 600 as possible, meaning that some BSTs might be a bit lower or higher than 600, with all recalculated stats being rounded down.
Bring 24 pick 6: Out of the 24 mons on team preview, select any 6.

Random Battles Clauses: Sleep Clause Mod: Limit one foe put to sleep

General tournament rules:
  • Timer Clause: As for taking long between moves, if your opponent asks you to hurry up, please oblige. If you are doing a damage calc for a key turn that is one thing, but prolonging every move is suspicious and annoying. Don't do it. Furthermore, Battle Timeout is a rule for a reason. If you run out of time, you lose, simple as that. It does not matter what your opponent says. Do not battle if you think you will have to leave mid battle, and instead reschedule for a better time.
  • Disconnections: Finally, in the case of a disconnect, the decision is in the hands of the player who did not disconnect. The options are: redo the battle move for move, redo the battle with the same teams but different moves, or redo the battle with completely different teams. If the battle was without a doubt over, they may also take the win. Any suspicion that a disconnect was committed on purpose to redo a match may be appealed to me, and if I feel this happened there will be severe consequences, don't do it.

I just wanted to bring this up in case somebody stumbles on it by accident and it affects the outcome of a tour game: today, a built-in [Gen 8] Random Battles Mayhem format was added to Showdown. At the time of writing, it doesn't have Team Preview or Dynamax Clause, but these will seemingly be patched in very soon. However, even after this is patched, it will still behave subtly differently to the challenge code method of playing Mayhem in the following ways:-

* The built-in format has access to the Shared Power mod, therefore abilities that aren't shared properly or at all with the challenge code such as Levitate and Trace should be shared the same way as in the base Shared Power format.
* The built-in format won't generate teams with Golisopod.

I assume we should avoid using the built-in Mayhem format until the tournament hosts say otherwise. However, when the format is patched (and maybe from Round 4 of the tour?) is there a possibility it could be used for this tour if both players understand the differences and agree? Thank-you.

Yeah, I was told about it by think, the tournament will continue with new code, however it'll have team preview cos bring 24 and it'll also have dynamax clause

The new code will used from the next round onwards, where we'll manually add dynamax clause and team preview

Thanks for mentioning it tho :)
