Welcome to the first-ever manager signups for the Random Battles Team Tournament! In previous years, team managers were chosen internally from within the auth of the Random Battles room on PS. This year, in honor of the growing size and popularity of RBTT, the gates are open: anyone is welcome to apply to manage a team for RBTT VIII!

Each of the eight teams in RBTT VIII will be led by two managers, one of whom may, but is not required to be, be drafted onto their team’s total roster of fourteen starters and four substitutes. As a reminder, the formats for RBTT VIII are:
Gen 9 Rands (bo5)
Gen 9 Rands
Gen 8 Rands
Gen 7 Rands
Gen 6 Rands
Gen 5 Rands
Gen 4 Rands
Gen 3 Rands
Gen 2 Rands
Gen 1 Rands
Gen 9 Battle Factory
Gen 9 BSS Factory
Gen 9 Hackmons Cup
Gen 9 Random Doubles

If you would like to manage a team, post using the format below. Only post if you are applying to manage; all other posts will be deleted. You may sign up as a managing pair or as a solo manager in search of a co-manager. Managing pairs will be chosen by the hosts, and mascot preference will be taken into account, but is not guaranteed (pending duplicate proposals, etc).
Note: Non-playing managers in RBTT VIII will not be allowed to play or manage in RBEL II.

RBTT mascots are legendary and mythical Pokemon from the mainline series of games. For example, Moltres, Jirachi, Palkia-Origin, etc are allowed, while Armored Mewtwo, Shadow Lugia, Primal Dialga, etc are not. Cresselia is reserved as the tour's mascot, and cannot be a team mascot.

Use this format for your posts:

What is your managing experience, if any? I managed the Pangoros in Tours BLT X to finals and shadowmanaged every edition of WCOR, where I have played a major role in the annual player selection of the most successful team to date in WCOR. Our team has made playoffs every time, reaching finals the first time and winning the tour the second edition.

Why would you make a good manager?: I have been following the rands community for quite some years now and know the playerbase very well. Managing-wise I like being on top of things. While Mich doesn't have prior managing experience, he has played countless top-level tour and ladder games, and as such has great knowledge of the upper echelon of rands (including unsung ladder heroes).

We have a combined record of 16-4 (12-3 and 4-1) across the last two iterations of WCOR. I have made multiple deep runs in Slam Opens over the past couple of years and came just one game short of reaching this year's Slam playoffs. Mich has also achieved other impressive feats, such as winning Rands Slam 2023, boasting a stellar 12-1 record across the last two RBTTs, and being widely regarded as one of the best rands players of all time. Together, we are confident in our ability to draft a strong team and provide high-quality practice games. We believe that this combination of proven results, deep knowledge of the playerbase, and drafting expertise should translate into strong results, if not an outright win in this tour!

Managing experience: I have managed numerous randbats-based team tournaments over the past few years, including managing playoff teams for all of RBTT, WCOR, and CCC. Most recently, I managed the winning team in the last iteration of WCOR. Losco has significant managing experience outside of RBTT as well, as a former WCOR manager with even more experience managing non-random tours such as Teamballo. He is also very good at Pokemon and notably Italian.
Why we are cool: Through the last 3 years of managing together, we have consistently produced competent and fun teams and have never had any managing/scheduling issues. We would love the opportunity to manage (maybe?) one last RBTT together, and think our experience/history make us good choices.

What is your managing experience, if any?: After an legendary 5-1-1 regular season run last RBTT with Team Ogerpon-H, and an unfortunate, heartbreaking confrontation between our respective teams in WCoR Semi Finals, Pulse & I have decided to run it back this year to claim the title we need and deserve.
I have managed RBTT 3 times, making playoffs in each occurrence and winning the whole thing back in RBTT4, and managed France in WCoR thrice as well, with a great run this year up until semi-finals.
Pulse has similar experience, managing Team Ogerpon all the way to semis and Team Oceania to finals in 2024.
Why would you make a good manager?: On top of these results, our managing pair is unmatched. Thanks to our respective timezones and availabilities, we will be available for 24 hours a day for the entire duration of this tournament, making sure our teammates are in the best conditions to play and have the best tournament possible.
2024 was great for both of us, we'll start 2025 with a bang and a RBTT win.

What is your managing experience, if any?: The last 5 RBTTs and countless other tours, while blade has managed a few RBTTs and taken part in all 7.
Why would you make a good manager?:
We’re back for the 3peat.
My RBTT record currently sits at 3 wins, 1 finals, 1 semis and missed playoffs once. We know the community inside out and will have a stellar team environment. DMs are open for those who want to come along for the ride :psywoke:

What is your managing experience, if any?

Apart from currently managing SPL, I managed the last two WCORs, making playoffs both times. I have also managed or shadow-managed several other tours, including HPL, MPL, OUPL, PUWC, WCOP, CC Cup, UUWC, 1v1WC, RoAWC, UWC, and NDWC. During this time, I achieved significant success, winning HPL, OUPL, and PUWC, while securing a 3rd seed placement and playoff spot in the most recent WCOP. Additionally, I reached the finals of UWC and RoAWC, the semifinals of UUWC and 1v1WC, and the finals in the ongoing CC Cup.

Petros managed last year in RBTT, taking his team to the playoffs and only losing to the eventual winners. He has also managed the last two WCORs, making the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. Furthermore, Petros has managed two CC Cups, reaching the finals both times. He is also managing the ongoing UUWC.

Why would you make a good manager?

Apart from these results, we have both played in multiple RBTTs, WCORs and are actively involved in the rands tours scene. We know the community very well and are confident in our ability to perform. Anyone who has played under us in the past can attest to the competitive and fun atmosphere we foster within our teams.

Proposed Mascot: :meloetta: Meloetta :meloetta-pirouette:
What is your managing experience, if any?: Icemaster has an extensive managing career with strong results. He managed UPL this year and won, shadow-managed OMPL twice, winning and making finals. Ice managed AGPL 4 times with a win, runner-up, and playoffs placements. There's also 5 TPP managing appearances, winning 4 times and making playoffs. I've managed TPP 2 times on top of AGWL, AGPL, and UMPL. I won AGWL and AGPL back to back while reaching playoffs in the latest UMPL. We have lots of managing experience to bring to the table.
Why would you make a good manager?: Strong managerial performances aside, we've been on RBTT teams with great environments and good results. Icemaster is familiar with Randbats, winning the latest RBTT with Team Chi-Yu, and there’s myself who's been on Team Hoopa for three consecutive iterations, a team that is no stranger to making playoffs. We know what it takes to lead a team in the right direction, not just for tours in general, but for this RBTT, and we'll make sure our teammates have fun in the process.

What is your experience/Why would you make a good manager?:

I captained RBEL with my team coming first place. I then captained WCOR with my team coming 2nd place, and then was runner-up in the Rands Slam playoffs, showcasing my abilities as a capable player and leader who can foster a fun but competitive environment. I’ve also made playoffs managing some teams in non-rands formats. I may not be a rands auth but I’m very knowledgeable of the community at this point and a provably solid talent scout, so I’m confident in my ability to leverage that knowledge into a strong draft.

Elgino of course was my co-manager in RBEL and a knowledgeable Rands Veteran and Slam
Winner in his own right.

It’s time for Team Metagross to run it back on the big stage.

PS Name - DerpySuX
Co-Manager - Aldrich
Proposed Mascot - Lunala
Past Management Experience - I have managed many team tours for BSS, such as managing team America for BSS World Cup, Rustboro Rocky Helmets for BSSPL VIII, and Magic Meowscaradas for BSSPL IX. Aldrich has also managed quite a few teams, including the Blackthorn Belly Drummers in BSSPL IX.

I have pretty good rapport in the rands community, and was a player for Team Hoopa last year, as was Aldrich. With the above experience managing for BSS tours I think I am pretty qualified to manage for RBTT and would be honored to have the chance to do so :3

What is your managing experience, if any?: I have managed 30+ tournaments on this site across almost every main tier so I have some of the most manager experience you could ask for. Me and clean both just managed SCL as well, with him getting playoffs.
Why would you make a good manager?: We have a ton of experience in the biggest stages of both playing and managing, and know how to draft and create a good team environment, shown by our success when teaming and individually. I know randbats quite well also, going 3-1 in the last edition of this tournament, being a consistent high ladder player during ss and earlier sv, as well as playing in the ss rands invitational through qualifiers and going to top 8. We are confident we can create a winning environment together while trying to branch out into managing randbats.

What is your managing experience, if any? Ive been managing many team tournaments on smogon for the past 4 years on multiple communities in NU, ZU, BDSP, Randbat, and SM. Most notably I won ZUOL, SMPL, and BDSPPL as a manager. I've also managed France in WCOR in 2023, letting us escape qualifiers and setting up on good track for our semi performance in 2024.
Why would you make a good manager?: On top of my managerial experience, both JJ and I have been very involved in the randbat tournament community, starting for the past two years in RBTT and WCOR. JJ has also had very solid results in Slam and other random battle tournaments with a recent final in Animé Mangas room random battle tournament. This means that we both have a great knowledge of the randbat tournament scene. Moreover JJ and I have been playing in plethora of team tournaments in other smogon subforums, providing us futher tournament experience and knowledge.
We both believe that we can provide what a RBTT team needs to succeed and are looking forward leading a team to victory

What is your managing experience, if any?: I have managed around 30 tours on this site, having made playoffs in all but a handful of those. I managed RBTT 3 times, making semis in RBTT5, finals in RBTT3, and winning RBTT4. Poat has managed several iterations of BLT, along with all iterations of WCOR, the first RBEL, and now CCC.
Why would you make a good manager?: I have played in every iteration of RBTT since its inception and have been a mainstay of the rands playerbase before it was even a public room. I am also one of the most accomplished managers in this tour having never missed playoffs. Poat had also played the last five iterations of RBTT and has been one of the most active community members for a while now. We bring extensive knowledge of the playerbase, managerial success, and a solid understanding of how to make strong and active teams that will both perform well and foster a fun, energetic environment.
