Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Welcome to the Multi Hackmons Cup Open! Test your ability to adapt to the chaos of completely random teams in the following formats:
Gen 7 Hackmons Cup
Gen 8 Hackmons Cup
Gen 9 Hackmons Cup
Gen 9 Doubles Hackmons Cup
Gen 9 Broken Cup
In the early rounds, players will face off in a best-of-three set by each locking a format and banning another. Starting in the quarterfinals, all 5 formats will be played each round!
This tournament is part of our ongoing Rands Slam circuit. Stay tuned for more tournaments!
Prizes
The winner of the Multi Hackmons Cup Open will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battles room for a month, and be inducted into the Randbats Hall of Fame. All participants who win at least one match will also be awarded points for the Rands Slam. The winner of the Slam Playoffs Round will get a custom avatar and a Smogon banner for a full year!
How does the tour work?
1. Contact your opponent on their Smogon wall and decide on a time to battle.
2. When it's time to play, choose a player at random by typing !pick you, me in PMs.
3. The chosen player picks the first format to lock, then the other player picks the second.
4. The second player also bans a format that was not picked, then the first player bans another.
5. The format that was neither picked nor banned is played first. The loser of the first game gets to pick the second format to play.
6. The first player to 2 wins advances to the next round.
Please note
1. All scheduling attempts MUST be done publicly on Smogon Walls. No other proof of communication will count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts.
2. You MUST post replays of your wins.
When spectating Rands Slam battles, do not ghost. Ask yourself, “Would my comment reveal information that hasn’t already been explicitly revealed in this battle?” Examples of ghosting include commenting on how an unexpectedly fast Pokemon must be holding a Choice Scarf, speculating that the match will be decided by a tera coinflip, etc.
