I'm Seeing Double

:Basculegion-F: :Basculin-White-Striped: :Cyclizar: :Bisharp: :Talonflame: :Krookodile:

Why have one of the Bascu-line when you can have two. That's the answer that I sent out to find in a brief 10 minute teambuilding session.

:Basculegion-F:: Big damage dealer with specs, pretty unwallable in the right matchups and the right support, which I think I've provided here decently. Tera Water for even bigger booms when needed.

:Basculin-White-Striped: Fun Fact, Basculin has the same speed stat as Hydreigon, so it makes for an even more potent scarf user than its fully evolved counterpart, while still packing a punch with Adaptability. I'm running STAB in Wave Crash and Flip Turn, and then as a surprise for any fighters or water absorbers that might show their faces in front of it, Tera Psychic Psychic Fangs. Finally, in order to compliment the lack of vitality that comes with Wave Crash and no HDBs, we have Endeavor as a parting gift to allow for the rest of the team to break through a potentially important wall.

:Cyclizar: I think I've literally just copied and pasted this exact set/spread for the past like 150 teams I've built

:Bisharp: Wanted some priority, and another physical attacker, so here is Bisharp. Tera Ghost helps against Fighters and can allow for some cheese comebacks if necessary.

:Talonflame: Main fighter switch-in, punishes stuff like U-Turn as well. Found no need for Defog, so just fully supportive with Taunt and Will-O.

:Krookodile: Didn't feel like a defensive rocker like Hippo was super fitting here, as the team is generally more fast paced. Running Gunk Shot because Talonflame already has Taunt.

An edit of my Fez Shao team (again). Mienshao has taken days off to train in front of a waterfall or something so Bisharp took its place for the time being, providing a strong anti-offense tool. Water Absorb Quag is a new addition to the team, replacing Gastrodon. They are the two same mons so it doesn't make that much of a difference, though Quag trades a bit of special bulk for a slight boost on the physical bulk. It also causes migraines to opponents expecting Unaware Quag just to click Water moves and have them bounce off. You can use the two interchangeably. Outside of that, it's just my Fez Shao team once again, with SpDef Leftovers Hoodra, Flare Blitz Talon, and Covert Cloak Fez. Basc-F cleans teams up and brings bonus defensive utility for Fightings, Fires, Extreme Speed and all the goods that come with being Ghost/Water.

AV Hersculegion Team
:basculegion f: :umbreon: :hippowdon: :breloom: :noivern: :rotom heat:
I was going to do a Masculegion Rain Team, but that made me lose so much elo, so you get hersculegion.

1730868609528.png
Well, we start out with hersculegion. I liked specs sets, as she had immense power, but she could feel frail at times. I could have gone colbur berry (cool idea I think, so maybe somebody else could use it), but I instead went with AV, which means it can take special hits pretty well. For example, +1 armarouge energy ball does 75% max, while you have a chance to OHKO back with surf. Gengar shadow ball does 69% max, while volcanion can't do a whole lot to it as earth power is at best a 4hit ko. This means hersculegion can deal its great damage and actually switch into attacks, which is very nice. Tera fairy means that it can become immune to draco meteors and resist knock offs, allowing it to snipe something like maushold (don't get flinched) or krookodile.

:pmd/umbreon: I needed something that could wall dark and ghost types, and something to help hersculegion keep itself healthy. Umbreon provided both of those aspects. This is just a standard set, but it works well on the team.

:pmd/hippowdon: Of course, I needed something to help on the physical side. So I went with one of the best physical walls in the tier, hippowdon. This is just a standard set, with tera water in order to wall rain even harder and help against feraligatr.

:pmd/breloom: I honestly needed some firepower for this team, as while herscu was good and all, it wouldn't be breaking teams at the end of the day. So I decided to throw on breloom, and I used an interesting set. This is a poison heal variant, which isn't very common, but can be very effective in the right matchup. The evs make sure that it can always outspeed the standard bisharp spread, while the attack evs make sure you always OHKO hoodra with CC, with the rest being dumped into defenses. Leech seed allows breloom to keep itself pretty healthy over the course of the game, while helping teammates as well, especially hersculegion. Protect means it can activate its own toxic orb, get leech seed chip or scout out enemy mons. Facade can hit pretty hard against neutral enemies that resist fighting, while cc hits the steel and rock types that can switch into facade. Tera normal means it can boost the power of facade to high levels (with leech seed, it 2hit ko's hippo), while potentially blanking ghost types that might sweep. Be warned, besides leech seed, breloom can't touch ghost types at all. However, aside from those, its a devestating mon on this team.

:pmd/noivern: We needed some speed, and some hazard control, so noivern is up next. I decided to go with the offensive utility set, with defog over u-turn. Tera steel allows it to take ice and fairy type hits while helping against maushold in a pinch (it can take one pop bomb from full).

:pmd/rotom heat: Finally, I wanted some sort of setup sweeper that I could still use defensively. In comes rotom heat, with an NP set to annoy enemy walls. I decided on t-wave over wisp in order to annoy bike more, and also helps hersculegion outspeed mons. Tera steel is just a good defensive typing for it.

:zapdos-galar::basculegion-f::chesnaught::krookodile::cyclizar::fezandipiti:
This week I just felt like building a simple team where specs fish clicks moves and blows stuff up. I love being able to click specs shadow ball as my fish migrates back to its ancestral spawning pond to find a mate.
:zapdos-galar::basculegion-f:: These two are the stars of the team. They do an excellent job of covering each other offensively. Gapdos is walled by Slowbro, Hippowdon and nothing else, both of which are destroyed by the fish, and Basculegion is walled by mons like Goodra, Empoleon, Cyclizar and Umbreon; all of which are really afraid of close combat. The funniest synergy of all though has to be Gapdos handling Chesnaught for Basculegion. I first tried to build this duo with itemless acro gapdos because I'm not too fond of scarf bird, but when you have a slowbro abuser as strong as specs fish, you are a lot less scared of just endlessly taking recoil damage and whiffing into the regen mon. You can't go wrong with this duo, I will personally congratulate the first one to show me another team with these two, I love them together.
::chesnaught::fezandipiti:: The defensive duo of this team I went with Chesnaught as a phys wall because the offensive duo just loves hazard stacking. Once you set up spikes, Basculegion's checks like Goodra and Empoleon suddenly get a lot more scared to switch in. The fish also doubles as a spinblocker to keep the hazards up if you're bold. Whenever I use Chesnaught, I also love to use Fezandipiti. It helps to have a solid fighting resist to make up for Chesnaught's lack of one, and Fezandipiti also loves hazard support as it spams u-turn. This turn is using alluring voice on Fez because it otherwise gets turned into a highlight reel by Suicune.
:cyclizar::krookodile:: The filler besties. These two go on every team and serve as glue. There's not really anything further to explain.

I vote for Heatranator, the sets are a bit weird but the mons are cool and it's the only team besides mine that doesn't get 6-0ed by Gapdos.
I will not vote for basculin and you cannot force me to.
Sneakyplanner's team is very solid but Gapdos 6-0ing prevents me from voting for it in good faith.

:eject_button:Week 35: eject items:eject_pack:
1731465867574.png

This week's subject is here by popular demand. There were people asking for something other than a pokemon, and an item that was well received was eject pack. I also decided to throw in eject button for the symmetry and more options. The eject buttons are rare but always interesting. Single-use and niche, but able to create unique roles on pokemon that otherwise lack utility. Eject button Amoonguss on a frail offense team can give your breakers a free switch-in, Eject pack can turn pokemon like Terrakion and Goodra into strong pivots. There's a lot you can do, so create a unique strategy and share it here,

Submission deadline: Teams should be submitted by 11:59 PM (GMT-7) on Friday, November 15th voting will then go until 11:59 PM (GMT-7) on Sunday November 17th.

E-Pack Hoodra sponsored by The RU Research Academy
:goodra-hisui: :conkeldurr: :hippowdon: :talonflame: :zoroark-hisui: :Gardevoir:

:goodra-hisui: Probably a little premature to put it at the beginning, but the star of the show on this team is definitely Modest E-Pack Hoodra, rocking Knock Off from some great utility throughout the course of a game. Tera Ghost gives us an edge over Fighting-Types in a pinch. Goodra really forms the main core for the team to function around, with Modest Draco doing great chip for the rest of the team to function around, and switching in a member more suitable for the matchup. Enough speed to outrun no investment Chesnaught.

:conkeldurr: I would say that this is probably the main abuser of the free pivot, as it usually get in from it for absolutely free thanks to the low speed of Hoodra. I think I have enough speed to outrun Hippo off memory, but don’t quote me on that. Rest in bulk, I don’t super like speedy Conk and it really needs all the health it can get. Tera Steel screws over the likes of mostly Gardevoir, who can be a threat to the team with Talonflame being the only resist, it also works nicely for stuff like Fezandipiti though.

:Talonflame: :Hippowdon: Cute little defensive core, covers the physical breakers that are overrunning the tier right now, i.e, Gapdos, Bisharp, etc, with this being the only defensive backbone of the team, it doesn’t do exceptionally well into special attackers, however, the likes of Hoodra and Conkeldurr are usually able to absorb one and do big damage, if not OHKO back. No Thundy in the tier means that Tera Water is fine to run on Talon in preparation for Rain, although it may be a little overkill with Tera Dragon Hippo as well, worked well for me though.

:zoroark-hisui: :gardevoir: The special offense of the team, which is kind of hoping to just do big damage to clear out each others checks, helped out by Knock Off from Goodra removing potentially annoying things like Leftovers that may hinder their mission. Healing Wish can come in clutch a lot of the time, being a low Conk back to full, or even a low Horoark. Really fun core overall, both of which take full advantage of E-Pack Hoodra’s traits. I usually just make Horoark disguise as Gardevoir, makes for a fun surprise when people have to make a guess whether or not they outspeed, or if they’re going to lose a hefty amount of HP, or straight up fainting to Specs Horoark.

Eject Pack Terrakium
https://pokepast.es/ca55f8bfe5010e36
This team is based on Terrakium :Terrakion: Eject Pack which can pivot in order to bring in Pz :porygon-z: which has a crazy capacity for breaking coupled with his ability download.
:terrakion: is the star of the team, his role is to CC on the physical wall's opponent to activate pz's download on the special plan. Tera Bug helps to OHKO slowbro having undergone sr after an sd, and gives a ground and a figthing resi.
:porygon-z: is played with his specs set, modest is choosen in order to maximaze his damage. Tera Ghost helps to hit Jirachi and Magnezone which can be really annoying for Garde.
:gardevoir: is the main speed control of the team thanks to his Choice Scarf. He enjoys a lot the breaking of pz which kills or weaken a lot the steel mons of the metagame. Healing Wish is a really good slot here because of the support it can spread for hoodra and swampert.
:goodra-hisui: is the special wall of the team. His slot has been chosen because of his ability to knock off steel's leftovers to help pz and gardevoir to break. His spread in Spa helps to OHKO yanmega with DM, 140 EVs in speed helps to outspeed other hoodra and the rest invested in hp to get the as much bulk as possible.
:swampert: is the sr setter and helps to pivot so as to bring more easily pz. Ice Punch helps to punish dd mence that think they can set up on you and help to surprise Noivern. His spread in SpD helps to tank four shadow ball of Gengar Scarf after leftovers recovery.
:talonflame: And there is the last slot of the team. I choosed him for the ground immunity and his ability to remove hazard and gives more speed control to the team which lacked it.

Eject Button Espeon Snow
https://pokepast.es/1012bba43f905aef

:ninetales-alola: :espeon: :cetitan: :bisharp: :gardevoir: :armarouge:

HO team built around getting Belly Drum Cetitan on the field as quick as possible and as safely as possible, with various other gamers behind ready to clean up.

:ninetales-alola: The classic set that you all know and love, Aurora Veil to allow any one of your setup sweepers to be able to take hits they shouldn't, Encore for shenanigans, and double stab to threaten a wide array of pokemon.

:espeon: The star of the show, so to speak. Essentially, is a sacrifice no matter what. Espeon either switches in and lives, pivoting out into Cetitan while denying hazard mindgames (Epic Win!), or is able to come in, reflect hazards, and set up para situations or future sight, which can destroy the common check to Cetitan, Geezing if you get the turn order right with the setup and Belly Drum. Alluring Voice is there just to help prevent it from becoming total setup fodder, and Quick Attack is a last minute desperation move you use to break sash. Can be screwed over by hazard leads attacking and OHKOing it though.

:Cetitan: The Whale. If you were around May or so of last year you'd know ALLLL about what this big guy can do. He gets up to +6 either by his own, serviceable bulk or behind a veil, and goes to FUCKING TOWN all over the competition. Slowbro? Never heard of em. Hold this Knock Off. Yanmega? Ice Shard. The biggest issues are, as previously mentioned, Geezing and Hippo, as both are able to survive an Ice Shard and Do a thing, Hippo being able to phaze and Geezing able to burn usually. If the opponent's team doesn't have either of those or Quagsire then congrats! You Win!

:bisharp: The big bad bulky blasting boy on the block is able to use either normal eviolite bulk (good), or Aurora Veiled bulk (diabolical) to find either easy setup opportunities or safe kills on the opposing team. Does what a Bisharp does.

:gardevoir: revengekills, tricks on walls, and helps against opposing weather teams. Does what a Gardevoir does.

:armarouge: The cheeser. Is able to pair aurora veil extremely well with weak armor to generally be able to do what it does usually, safer. As demonstrated in the replays below, it's able to switch very VERY well into what hits ninetales and benefit from it. Aurora Veil also lets you be more aggressive into special attackers since it's able to mitigate your most damning weakness in your SpD.

REPLAY ZONE
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2243741076
Optimal start for the team, Cetitan safely able to setup on the Galv and securing a win from the turn it hit the field.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2243744868
A way messier game that I played poorly in, but the fool was using SUPPORTIVE HOODRA and couldn't muster the offensive power to stop the Whale.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2243796420-desd901cgjfgypmwu03la21sbk2j4e0pw
Game in which nothing goes right for my opponent, and Cetitan is able to savely maneuver into a dub.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2243080545
Game featuring an earlier version of the team in which I autopilot to a win.

Armarouge behind an aurora veil tanks a Terrakion Stone Edge. 'nuff said.

Yellow is Sus
:amoonguss::gardevoir::terrakion::cyclizar::kilowattrel::registeel:
This team started with eject pack :amoonguss:Amoonguss. I love it as a slow pivot, it gives Amoonguss something to do vs mons that normally pretty hard wall it like Jirachi and other Amoongi. It also helps a lot to just have a really strong attack on Amoonguss, gives you some sneaky kills you would miss with giga drain. This one has one speed point taken away so you can slow pivot vs other mushrooms.
The goal of eject button Amoonguss is to pair it with breakers that can exploit mons that try to exploit the mushroom. I went with :gardevoir:Gardevoir and :terrakion:choice band Terrakion. If they swtch in Hoodra, you can pivot out into CB terrakion and then suddenly they are in danger. Terrakion handles Hoodra, jirachi and assorted steel types while Gradevoir handles dragons like Cyclizar and Noivern while also just being a generic strong and fast breaker for whatever they try to switch in.
With those three locked in, I added :cyclizar:bike and :registeel:Registeel for splashable utility, and finally the real heat mon of the team: tera fighting :kilowattrel:Kilowattrel. The team needs a ground immune, filler pivot and strong offensive mon, and kilowattrel does all that. But instead of the usual roost in slot 4, I took advantage of all the pivot support and this being a pretty offensive team to give it an interesting move in tera blast. Way back in the day, I used to run this set on aggressive teams except with tera blast water. It helped with the ground types of the tier that were trying to block volt switch, which at the time were Krookodile and Mudsdale. But just like we learned to drop grass knot on thundy for focus blast, I learned that fighting has better coverage than ice, grass or water could hope for. You hit cyclizar, you hit Hoodra, you hit krookodile. There are some games where dropping their Krookodile early can win you the game instantly, that is what this is for. You would rarely be clicking roost on this team anyways, so tera blast is just a free move.

:ganlon_berry:Week 35: Pinch Berries:lansat_berry:
1731982590994.png

Pinch berries: The heroes of ADV lower tiers, everyone loves them. Get to 25% and you get a free stat boost. Perfect for one-time setup sweepers and late-game cleaners giving you a fake booster energy. Salac berry is the most popular, but Liechi and Petaya berry have their place. And whoever uses Ganlon berry instantly wins this week. There is so much room to experiment here. None of these berries are commonplace items, but all of them could be used on a multitude of pokemon. Salac berry gengar? Liechi berry Sceptile? Petaya berry Kilowattrel? The possibilities are as plentiful as pokemon in the tier. Go enjoy some tasty berries.

Submission deadline: Teams should be submitted by 11:59 PM (GMT-7) on Friday, November 22nd voting will then go until 11:59 PM (GMT-7) on Sunday November 24th.

Endure Barraskweda Team
:barraskewda: :krookodile: :klefki: :conkeldurr: :gengar: :vaporeon:
No, I am not doing the defense pinch berries. I want to have a little bit of my sanity left.

:pmd/barraskewda: The mon that I decided to use a pinch berry with, Barraskweda is a mon is usually restricted to band sets in order to get the OHKO's it needs due to its frailty, but that of course has the choice lock affect. Boots sets can still work, but most of the time have to click flip turn, which can be constricting to its moveset. With liechi berry, this is no longer the case. Barraskewda can pick up the OHKO's it needs by enduring to 1hp and activating it. Liquidation is a good stab option, CC hits most things in the tier for neutral damage and hits steels hard and Crunch can hit Slowbro for big damage, especially with Tera Dark.

:pmd/krookodile: I of course, needed a rocker and something to start the knock off spam on the team (because rocky helmet would stop a potential barra sweep), so I used krookodile. Standard set, taunt helps in the fat matchup, but gunk shot is also pretty good.

:pmd/klefki: I wanted a special sponge and I believed spikes would be the best way to support barra, so I used klefki next. This set uses toxic orb to cripple switchins and get there items. This can be good against last mon sweepers as you can cripple them with two status moves. You can also use this multiple times if you want to, as you can trick the toxic orb onto them, activate it, and then get it back so you can do it again for another mon. Rest of the set is standard, t-wave to cripple mons that don't care about poison, spikes to make progress and play rough to deal good damage. Tera ghost can act as a temporary spinblocker.

:pmd/conkeldurr: I needed some sort of hazard control, so conkeldurr is up next. I decided to go with the defog set, which I don't think I need to explain much, as it has decent longevity and breaking power. Tera steel lets it soft check fairy types.

:pmd/gengar: I needed some speed control, so I decided on Gengar. This is the standard Gengar set, with the only changes being Knock Off to cripple switchins such as Cyclizar and Hoodra for teammates, and Tera Poison in order to make sludge wave a nuke (once cyclizar is knocked, tera poison sludge wave has a chance to OHKO with just rocks).

:pmd/vaporeon: Finally, I wanted another abuser of spikes and something to help klefki wall special threats, so vaporeon is here. I decided on Calm Mind for this, as it allows Vaporeon to snowball games quite easily, as the mons that wall it don't like taking knock or hazards. Other then that, everything else is standard.
