Sure, let's try with some predictions!

MultiAmmiratore vs BoRida > good series because they are both great players. Boris has higher highs so I am betting on him but this is definitely an open series

pokeblade101 vs Delta 2777 > the battle between the two veterans should be a lot of fun and I expect this to be close. Assuming Blade doesn't pull a classic Blade moment, he has a small advantage

chemcoop vs Ghostilex > ghost was the hero of cycle 1 and he got redemption in cycle 3 to qualify. Chemcoop is pretty good and has access to a giant auth button (I am kidding. Unless...) so I favor him but it's another balanced series on paper

aleaniled vs Impeckable > I admit I don't know aleaniled too much but they are currently high on the ladder with their main profile too, so they are definitely competent. Impeckable is also competent and has good momentum from the last cycle and from topping the ladder so I favor him. Maybe he can ask his parents to lend him their dog once again, who knows!

Fant'sy Beast vs Rico473 > Benelux civil war has a clear favorite because Fant'sy has been performing well in this gen since its start and the opponent, despite having himself decent results in this cycle, has not reached the same heights

Michielleus vs Lechen > another pretty good pairing on paper and Lechen is definitely one to watch for future rands tournament too. But Michielleus is very experienced and too good to not bet on him

Bad Player vs O1V7O2X9O > I really don't know what to expect here but I'll go with the australian wifi password because the wifi password community is very supportive of its members

pokevin03dragonite vs AquaGuy2.0 > the most onesided pairing on paper. It's also a very big win-win situation for yours truly: if Kevin wins, I'll be happy. If Kevin loses, I can make fun of him for days :D

PTKmoekyuun vs yerdunc > yerdunc shows the potential to be a very good player since he kept spamming games mindlessly both when he was losing and even when he was winning. Can PTK win against a guy who is this degenerate? Maybe yes, but craziness often ryhmes with talent so I'll go with the canadian

RainListener vs Sylveon used calm mind > my favorite nickname on the website vs my favorite...uhm, Dolliv enjoyer? I'll go with that. I can totally see Sylveon forgetting about this tournament and lose by default but he is a phenomenal player when he is locked in (which he is most of the time)

raulcan vs Nuage > raulcan is yet another person I don't know too well and the only thing I know is that they are a "blitz" guy. On the other end, I know MGN too well and they are having a stellar pokemon year but they haven't played gen 9 as much as the opponent so I'll go with raulcan for the joy of the guy who hates Konosuba

Piyu vs paysa > paysa is lucky and bad. Piyush fears lucky and bad players. Piyush is still more accustomed to a tournament setting. Piyush should win. Paysa should lose

I ended up not trying as hard as I could have, but that's okay. There will always be new opportunities waiting for us in the future.

I wish all the participants the best of luck! It will certainly be fun to follow.

It would be nice if the final ended up being a best of 9 games, although I don't know if that would be possible.

MultiAmmiratore vs BoRida - bro is literally a 3.5 in pickleball he wont lose
pokeblade101 vs Delta 2777 - blade legitimately qualled so i take him
chemcoop vs Ghostilex - this guy was cooking me on ladder so he wins
aleaniled vs Impeckable - aleaniled prolly tilts if he misses a focus blast so impeckable wins
Fant'sy Beast vs Rico473 - legit qual
Michielleus vs Lechen - michi
Bad Player vs O1V7O2X9O - i mean the other guy is a bad player
pokevin03dragonite vs AquaGuy2.0 - legit qual
PTKmoekyuun vs yerdunc - dunc
RainListener vs Sylveon used calm mind - lil kid loses these
raulcan vs Nuage - legit qual
Piyu vs paysa - bulbasaur power

g4 Lechen had some calcdex errors and ended up namechanging / autoforfeiting.
It was only t2 but with conk vs threads I feel like I had some advantage which I didn't want to start a new game for
livid washed mentioned with the replay being up team information is now public
So I'm doing the ungentlemanly thing and appeal for a win
freezai if you feel differently I'll happily comply

just adding on that he had a skeledirge in the back (which he mentioned in the game chat) which put him in the lead if you went for cc like you were implying

it was absolutely an even game whatever way you slice it, and lechen getting kicked out of this tour just because his ps glitched just seems so cosmically unfair :psygrump:

adding onto this, I don't think arguing on about having advantage in a game that literally went for 1 turn isn't a strong appeal for not redoing it, specially when you don't even know more than half of the opponent's team. Its just unfair for lechen that the game decided to give him the loss when he wanted to reload his page for the extensions to work properly, stating that he changed his name (which wasn't even the case).
I just wanted to put out that its more fair if the game gets redo'd/rematch'd instead of giving michilleus the win on the basis of whatever happened to ps (want to point it out again, lechen lost the game due to him disconnecting and ps forfeiting him for changing names which he never did)

To be fair, in his situation he can only blame himself, instead of just using the usual calc https://calc.pokemonshowdown.com/ he tried to fix calcdex and started "closing his browsers" (Michi turned off the timer at the request of Lechen btw) and thats why the decision to give the win to Michi may be justified.

If you restart their match with 2:0 score, will it be a decision that suits both sides?

Calcdex glitching is something everyone in team tours gets warned for repeatedly, you can switch to calcing manually at that point
Is it not fair for someone to try to fix the problem through whatever means they think will solve the problem rather than being forced to play around it?

I'm not sure if Lechen knew that him trying to fix Calcdex by restarting the browser would cause him to auto-forfeit. I've had issues with connections and such in the past and closing the browser resolved them without me automatically forfeiting the game.

It's also frankly ludicrous to claim that Michielleus had a "significant advantage" on Turn 2 when Lechen explicitly stated that he had a Skeledirge, which would give him the advantage had he had the chance to switch to it on the purported CC coming in from the Conkeldurr.

Overall, as a spectator, I'd prefer to see the game being played than ending like this.

To everyone claiming that redoing the game holds no disadvantage for Michi, I would ask to view the mental side of this:

Michi is in a position were he has won now, while Lechen is in a position where he lost. If they redo the game, Michi is in a position where he can only lose what he already had, while Lechen has nothing to lose, only something to gain. That creates an unfair balance that could be mentally taxing for michi.
Also imagine how bad you would feel losing this set if you agreed to redoing, can you blame Michi for wanting to avoid that?

I would also point out that Lechen reconnected multiple times, which makes me wonder what went differently that last time? Are there precedents for disconnection leading to a name change auto forfeit glitch?
