RBY CAP Kickoff Tournament

With 5 CAPs completed, it's about time for a RBY CAP tournament!​

RBY CAP is a pet mod that takes the concept of creating new Pokemon collaboratively back to the oldest OU format, RBY OU! The goal of this pet mod is to diversify the RBY OU meta while keeping it fairly recognizable - you can still expect Tauros to be the king of the format and Pokemon like Snorlax, Chansey, Starmie, and Exeggutor to have strong roles, but what if there was a viable Fire-type Pokemon? What if we had new type combinations that provided interesting type matchups, like Grass/Ice? What if there was a real priority move user? Come try this metagame and find out - and maybe help us balance and expand it!

Ruleset:
  • Same clauses/rules as RBY OU.
  • Matches must be played on http://petmodsdh.com, and all replays of all games must be posted.
  • Matches will be best-of-three (Bo3) in every round (defined as the first player to win three games, i.e. ties are not counted).
  • You may switch teams between games.
  • Matches will always be played in the [Gen 1] RBY CAP format.
  • This tournament's format will depend on signup count, but will most likely be Double Elimination or Swiss/Pools with a Top Cut.
  • All standard Smogon tournament rules apply, and can be found here.
  • Any changes to CAPs such as the introduction of new Pokemon or balancing changes will take effect at the start of a new week rather than mid-round.
  • The $50 prize may be issued directly via PayPal/Venmo depending on region or the winner can coordinate with me on alternate methods such as a Steam gift if other methods don't work.

RBY CAP Kickoff is not a special place. I'm sure of that. I also think my record would be decent if I had luck in my games. The game never gives me a FRZ, my Corupcake doesn't get 2 consecutive critical hits, etc. I think with luck in my favor my record would be decent and that statement can be generalized to many other FC players. RBY CAP Kickoff is not as special of a place as I initially thought. RBY CAP Kickoff can be broken with luck and preparation. I want my Corupcake to get 2 consecutive critical hits, I want Pineguin Blizzard freeze, I want Mandrelec to get a critical hit Thunderbolt. I want Phantom to put an opponent's mon to sleep at the right time. I don't ask or need anything special to get better results.
