Inflicting severe damage with its Dragon's Maw-boosted attacks and with enormous HP, Regidrago is the definition of a tank. Recently, it has seen great success in the 1v1 World Cup tournament as a fierce attacker on Dragon / Fairy / Steel teams. Despite Regidrago’s mediocre Speed, Dragon Energy remains incredibly potent threatening most Pokemon that aren’t faster than it after a Scale Shot like Zapdos and non-Haban Berry Zygarde, as well as Leech Seed Rillaboom. However, in certain matchups, like Aggron, it is much safer to use Dragon Energy into Draco Meteor. The given EVs allow Regidrago to tank a Choice Band Avalanche from Aggron and be as reliable as possible against non-Modest Choice Specs Dragapult. As this set completely loses to Fairy-types, having Pokemon to combat them is compulsory. Magnezone and Volcanion both achieve this role and can provide support against bulky Steel-types like Celesteela.
