Metagame is definitely incomplete, I think we should have hit 20 unique mons before trying to launch a full meta out of this. Bare in mind I played this thrice or four times and no one else really gives af so this are extremely limited info, but the amount of mons here makes the results narrow anyway. For individual mon reviews.
Never seen it iirc. It seems like it should be good on paper, but Bug rn isn't a particularly in demand defensive typing, Fighting is too weak to demand a resist (and the sole user is backed by a Flyer anyway), and only 1 Ground type exists and isn't particularly great rn. I think it would want some more targets but it is technically the most proficient wall we have in pure physical attacking prowess.
Better Slunkey in a practical sense, trading it's worse matchup into many top tiers (i.e. the Psychics) with arguably better toolkit and it's currently imo a bit easier to see why this sees the light of day more often than Slunk. Also SR weakness is a bitch which I think plays a part.
Doesn't really check anything (this is a theme) at the moment, as what you want to check with a bulky Ground is rare or unviable. Also maybe my opinions are being swayed, but man that bulk is not nearly as impressive as you would think. No Protect to guarantee PH turns also severely limits this Pokémon's staying power and PH's overall effectiveness. This isn't a metagame where you can reliably stall stuff, everything has a strong STAB move equipped so it's kill or be killed. Also as a special wall in general its disappointing because it can't beat the good attackers we have rn.
The statline basically guarantees it's role as a dunder imo. It's too frail to be as slow as it is, it's too slow to have such a gaping hole of a defense stat. It can't even outpace walls it wants to wallbreaker, which means everything will hit it before it can hit back. And like I said before, (for the most part), everything will be able to hit back since stall walls don't really exist. Many Pokémon can afford to run 1 physical move rn too, so it feels harder to justify it checking stuff or having a safe pivot.
King of the tier. 125 Atk 140 BP STAB Facade is crazy, and now that I think about it this existing is plain old nuts. Tier has no Normal resists, sans the singular Rock type who gets nuked by x4 weak STAB Apple Acid. So you have to rely on walling it with pure stats, which is low-key just not possible with what we are working with right now. To me everything in the meta is centered around how you interact with this Mon, so low defense and Grass weak Pokemon are not it in the metagame right now. Quick Feet also make this thing very fast as well, so it's deceptively hard to revenge kill. Finally it's weaknesses are basically non-existent, with Poison being it's most popular option, which it can 1v1 with some team support (Glitzy Glow).
It's fine. Dude definitely hates how it kinda needs Hustle to get worthwhile damage going rn, and being so frail specially in a metagame like this isn't ideal rn. Maybe it can shake out in the future but my hopes aren't high right now, guy definitely wishes it could be reasonably mixed.
I think this Mon has potential as it has a pretty cool matchup versus metagame King himself, but it absolutely hates how common and powerful Psychic types are right now (more on this later). Still, it's pretty decent, I think plain old item less is it's best bet since it lacks immediate damage output otherwise. Pretty alright guy, low-key sad we made it completely centralized around Unburden cuz I really need that 110 BP right out the gate.
This guy is pretty decent, Psychic is one of the best offensive typings right now because of how potent Glitzy Glow is as a move. Scald is also very useful move not only as solid damage dealing option, but also to trigger a useful burn. Being a somewhat bulky Psychic also means it has a good matchup versus opposing Psychic types and can resist Brick Break which is the only way to clear said hazards. Soul-Heart makes it even more solid as a potential snowballer, but with how prevalent Screens are snowballing is alot harder than one would think.
Mon is cool but instead of not having much to check, it really hates what is popular right now, mainly Psychic types being that prominent. The sole Grass type in the tier outspeeds and nukes it with its secondary STAB. I actually think this Pokemon has the potential to be pretty good I just think it needs to be fleshed out more.
I low-key think this is one of the worst Pokémon right now. It's just too passive imo. You would think the gimmick of Defiant / Competitive would be very useful, but stat drop moves aren't particularly common - it's the only Fire Lash user, one Apple Acid user kinda sucks, the other one it is not a reliable switch to and no STAB Spirit Break users are around. Maybe in a future version of this metagame where this Pokémon can further interact with the meta game as intended with alot more guys, but as of right now it feels kinda niche less.
The tree was designed specifically tackle all the Psychic types, but like, it has to compete against The King, and I'd rather just run Chloro and Facade the Psychic types to death. Still I think the guy ha potential but it kinda faces the same issues that quite a few Pokemon in this metagame face ATM...they occupy niches that aren't currently needed or are heavily overshadowed.
I think this is the second best Pokemon out right now, which makes sense. It's fast, has a relatively high SpA so it hits very hard, has deceptively high bulk due to it effectively always setting a screen when it moves first since it is the fastest unboosted Pokemon here and priority doesn't exist. It really benefits from only 1 Dark type being present, one that is currently heavily outclassed (and one it can technically do some real damage to). This frees up it's dual Screen wallbreaking and is also one of the reasons Screens are so heavily prominent in the tier right now.
I think it's unfair to judge the existing Pokemon and their performances since they are clearly suffering from a very unfinished metagame, but also, what else can you do? Nerf Chlorofill buff Dracord actually let the metagame develop before quitting and letting mons fend for themselves.
Mist also does nothing I cannot imagine a user of that move in the future, sorry Seito.
